Objective Glioblastoma multiforme(GBM),the most malignant intracranial neoplasm,is associated with a high mortality and recurrence rate due to the aggressive nature and heterogeneity of the *** of the molecular markers involved in the tumorigenesis of GBM are essential in prognosis,diagnosis,and *** to the limitations of therapeutic effects,this study aims to explore novel biomarkers with prognostic value and to provide new insights into therapeutic *** The expression profile of mRNAs in GBM was detected by RNA-sequencing,and differentially expressed genes were identified by integrating the data from RNA-seq results and the GEPIA2 *** the total 40 hub genes,FN1,P4HB,and PPIB showed prognostic significance based on both GEPIA2 and CGGA *** validation of FN1,P4HB,and PPIB expression by qPCR and correlation analysis with clinicopathological features were performed in 41 GBM tissues from our *** Kaplan-Meier analysis revealed that FN1 and P4HB expressions levels were related to the overall survival(OS)of GBM patients(P<0.05).Multivariate analysis showed that FN1 overexpression(HR=9.199,P=0.002)was an independent and unfavorable prognostic factor for GBM *** median survival time was 8.5 months and 21 months for high and low expressions of FN1,*** It was suggested that FN1 could be an ideal target for prognosis and a potential therapeutic target in GBM.

Stimuli-evoked NOergic molecules and neuropeptides at acupuncture points and the gracile nucleus contribute to signal transduction of propagated sensation along the meridian through the dorsal medulla-thalamic pathways

Numerous studies from different international groups have demonstrated that sensations can be propagated along acupuncture channel pathways. The propagated sensation along the channel pathway(PSCP)can be elicited by electroacupuncture(EA), transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation(TENS), manual acupuncture(MA), and heat applied to distal acupuncture points(acupoints). Nitric oxide(NO) levels were reported to be elevated in the gracile nucleus and skin regions near to the EA sites, with higher levels at acupoints associated with an enhanced expression of NO synthase and transient receptor potential vanilloid type 1. The stimuli, EA, MA, TENS, and heat, have been used to elicit axonal reflexes, which increase local release of NO and neuropeptides such as calcitonin gene related peptide. Furthermore, the sensation of PSCP along the body surface occurs only ipsilaterally to the stimulated acupoints in various human studies, which does not support the involvement of the spinal-thalamic pathway, which would involve cross over transmission of the signals. The gracile nucleus receives ascending input from the sciatic nerve and responds to somatosensory stimulation mainly on the ipsilateral side via the dorsal column pathway. EA at Zusanli(ST36) increases NO release and expression of NO synthase mainly in the ipsilateral side of the gracile nucleus, while the cardiovascular effects and analgesic responses to EA at ST36 are changed by influences of L-arginine-derived NO synthesis in the ipsilateral gracile nucleus in rats. The stimuli-induced release of NOergic molecules and neuropeptides exist high levels in the acupoints, which contain rich neuronal components and blood vessels. Enhanced NOergic molecules at acupoints cause axon reflexes during the stimuli, which elevate cutaneous blood flow. Elevated NOergic molecules and local blood flow may spread over acupoints one after another along the meridian lines differing from nerve pathways following the stimuli to induce PSC

Glioma is the most common malignant brain tumor in central nervous *** advances in the treatment of glioma such as surgery and chemoradiotherapy,most patients are easy to relapse,resulting in adverse clinical ***,effective molecular=targeting treatment may be one of attractive strategies for glioma *** dysregulated microRNAs(miRNAs),one of the candidates of therapeutic targets,are believed to play an important role in the progression of *** this study,we aimed to examine the expression profile of miRNAs in glioma and provide a reference for glioma ***,expression profile of miRNAs in 5 normal brain tissues,5 low-grade glioma(LGG)tissues and 5 glioblastoma(GBM)tissues was detected by RNA sequencing(RNA-seq).Next,the target genes of differentially expressed miRNAs(DEmiRNAs)were predicted and then GO enrichment and KEGG pathway analysis performed by ***,10 miRNAs which were significantly up-or down-regulated both in GBM and LGG were validated by real-time quantitative PCR(qRT-PCR).RNA-seq results indicated a number of DEmiRNAs in *** were 64 up-regulated miRNAs and 17 down-regulated miRNAs n LGG,and 181 up-regulated miRNAs and 124 down-regulated miRNAs in GBM,*** analysis showed that the target genes of these DEmiRNAs were enriched in various biological processes and signaling pathways such as cell metabolic and developmental *** DEmiRNAs were further confirmed by ***-10b-5p,miRNA-92b-3p and miRNA-455-5p were significantly up-regulated in both GBM and LGG;while miRNA-542-3p was significantly up-regulated in LGG;miRNA-184 and miRNA-206 were significantly down-regulated in both GBM and LGG;miRNA-766-5p and miRNA-1-3p were significantly down-regulated in *** subject of our study demonstrated several dysregulated miRNAs may serve as a potential therapeutic target for gl ioma.

Oxidation behavior of low-grade vanadiferous titanomagnetite concentrate with high titanium

In order to clarify the oxidation mechanisms and make better use of the low-grade vanadiferous titanomagnetite concentrate with high titanium(LVTC),the oxidation behavior of LVTC was *** results showed that oxidation degree was achieved within 90 min when temperature was not lower than 700°C,and the main phases of the oxidized LVTC consisted of Fe9TiO15,Fe2O3,CaSiTiO5 and a small amount of *** temperature is favorable to the formation of *** surface of LVTC gradually becomes rough,with fine particles of needle-like and granular shape appearing on the surface,which finally turn from laminar to creamy,spread out,and are interspersed with many tiny *** phase oxidation paths in LVTC were as follows:(1)Fe2.75Ti0.25O4→Fe9TiO15+Fe2O3;(2)Fe2.75Ti0.25O4→Fe2O3+FeTiO3→Fe2TiO5;(3)FeTiO3→Fe2O3+Fe2Ti3O9→*** is predominantly mesoporous whether oxidized or not,with the pores mainly distributed in the range of 2–40 nm,and the specific surface area of LVTC decreases significantly with increasing temperature.

Joint Probability Analysis and Prediction of Sea Ice Conditions in liaodong Bay

Sea ice conditions in liaodong Bay of China are often described by sea ice grades,which classify annual sea ice conditions based on the annual maximum sea ice thickness(AM-SIT)and annual maximum floating ice extent(AM-FIE).The joint probability distribution of AM-SIT and AM-FIE was established on the basis of their data pairs from 1949/1950 to 2019/2020 in liaodong *** joint intensity index of the sea ice condition in the current year is calculated,and the joint classification criteria of the sea ice grades in past years are established on the basis of the joint intensity index series.A comparison of the joint criteria with the 1973 and 2022 criteria revealed that the joint criteria of the sea ice grade match well,and the joint intensity index can be used to quantify the sea ice condition over the years.A time series analysis of the sea ice grades and the joint intensity index sequences based on the joint criteria are then *** show a decreasing trend of the sea ice condition from 1949/1950 to 2019/2020,a mutation in 1990/1991,and a period of approximately 91 years of the sea ice *** addition,the Gray-Markov model(GMM)is applied to predict the joint sea ice grade and the joint intensity index of the sea ice condition series in future years,and the error between the results and the actual sea ice condition in 2020/2021 is small.

Cancer immunotherapy has rapidly become the fourth mainstream treatment alternative after surgery,radiotherapy,and chemotherapy,with some promising *** aims to kill tumor cells by mobilizing or stimulating cytotoxic immune ***,the clinical applications of tumor immunotherapies are limited owing to a lack of adequate delivery pathways and high ***,nanomaterials and genetic engineering have shown great potential in overcoming these limitations by protecting the delivery of antigens,activating targeted T cells,modulating the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment,and improving the treatment *** Calmette-Gué;rin(BCG)is a live attenuated Mycobacterium bovis vaccine used to prevent tuberculosis,which was first reported to have antitumor activity in *** therapy can activate the immune system by inducing various cytokines and chemokines,and its specific immune and inflammatory responses exert antitumor *** was first used during the 1970s as an intravesical treatment agent for bladder cancer,which effectively improved immune antitumor activity and prevented tumor *** recently,nano-BCG and genetically engineered BCG have been proposed as treatment alternatives for bladder cancer due to their ability to induce stronger and more stable immune *** this study,we outline the development of nano-BCG and genetically engineered BCG for bladder cancer immunotherapy and review their potential and associated challenges.
