AIM: To study the effects of estrogen on muscle damage and regeneration after acute passive gastrocnemius muscle strain injury in female Sprague-Dawley rats. METHODS: Rats were divided into 5 groups: ovariectomized, strained and treated with low-dosage estradiol (20 μg/d) (Elow), treated with high-dosage estradiol (200 μg/d) (Ehigh), treated with oil placebo (Oil), strained with no ovariectomy (Strain), and sham operated with no strain and no ovariectomy (Con). Muscle damage index [plasma creatine kinase (CK)], antioxidant indexes [glutathione (GSH), Vitamin E (Vit E), total antioxidant capability (TAC)], and muscle regeneration index (desmin) were investigated at 7 d. RESULTS: The plasma CK activity increased but GSH, Vit E, and TAC levels decreased after muscle strain injury (Strain vs Con P<0.05). Plasma CK activity was the greatest while GSH, Vit E, and TAC were the lowest in the Oil group among the five groups (P<0.01). Plasma CK in the Ehigh and Strain groups was lower than that in the Elow group

For space-based gravitational wave （GW） detection,the main noise source for massive black hole binaries （MBHBs） is attributed to approximately 10～7double white dwarf binaries in the *** a GW source,the amplitude of the detector response,recorded by a space-based gravitational wave detector,exhibits a modulation effect with a year period when observing the source from various orbital *** the adverse conditions mentioned above,where there is a strong foreground noise and annual modulation in the signals,we employed the wavelet transform and the strong-amplitude relevant orbital position search methods,which allows the weak MBHB sources to achieve higher locating *** detail,for two MBHB sources of lower intensity,the precision of luminosity distance,represented by the ratio ?DL/DLat the 95%confidence level,is enhanced by factors of ～*** angular resolutions,denoted by??s,are enhanced by a factor of ～*** improvements increase the number of detectable GW sources,facilitate multi-messenger follow-up observations and provide constraints on the cosmological constant.

As a laser passes through a scattering medium,the light interacts with the irregular reflections within the medium,resulting in light scattering and the formation of *** this paper,an image sensor based on the combination of a coreless optical fiber and a digital camera is proposed for liquid refractive index sensing *** coreless fiber is used as a sensing unit,and the change in the speckle pattern is measured using the digital correlation method to detect the magnitude of the liquid's refractive *** experimental results indicate that the laser image sensing technique is capable of effectively distinguishing liquid samples with refractive indices ranging from 1.332 8 to1.390 8,with a sensing sensitivity of-1.306 ***,the laser image sensing technique,with its advantages of high experimental reproducibility,simple system design,remote over-control,holds great research significance and potential application in laser communication and sensor integration.

The combination of photodynamic therapy（PDT） and chemodynamic therapy（CDT） in tumor treatment has attracted considerable ***,tumor hypoxia and glutathione（GSH） overproduction in the tumor tissue restricted the progress of their ***,a Mn-porphyrinic metal-organic framework（Mn-TCPP） was constructed by the one-pot method and further used for immobilizing glucose oxidase（GOx） to obtain GOx@*** would rapidly exhaust endogenous glucose into hydrogen peroxide（H2O2） and gluconic acid,thus shutting off the energy supply of tumor cells for starvation ***-TCPP catalyzed H2O2to produce oxygen,regulating the hypoxic tumor microenvironment and in turn improving1O2generation under laser ***,Mn-TCPP can reduce reactive oxygen species consumption owing to the redox reaction between Mn3+and GSH,thus greatly enhancing ***,benefiting from GOx-mediated starvation therapy,Mn2+produced by Mn3+reduction can react with sufficient intracellular H2O2to generate ·OH with high cytotoxicity through a Fenton-like *** treatment by GOx@Mn-TCPP under laser irradiation in vitro,the cell viability of 4T1 and A549 tumor cells reached to 20%,reflecting GOx@Mn-TCPP could give full play to the advantages of PDT/CDT/starvation *** results in vivo demonstrated that GOx@Mn-TCPP mediated synergistic cascade therapy could significantly inhibit tumor growth and improve the therapeutic effect.

Surgical treatment of 82 patients with diabetic lower limb ischemia by distal arterial bypass

Background Diabetic lower limb ischemia is a serious complication of diabetes mellitus. This study was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of distal arterial bypass treatment in diabetic patients with lower limb ischemia. Methods From July 2000 to July 2004, 96 lower limbs of 82 diabetic patients （type 2） with severe lower limb ischemia were treated in Xuan Wu Hospital. Arterial bypass with femoro-popliteal polytetrafluoroethylene （PTFE） and graft-tibial autologous grafts was performed on 31 limbs （32.3%）. Popliteal-tibial artery bypass alone was performed on 22 limbs （22.9%）. Combined lilac artery stenting, femoro-popliteal artery PTFE graft bypass, and graft-tibial artery autologous graft bypass was performed on 12 limbs （12.5%）, and femoro-tibial artery graft bypass was performed on 10 limbs （10.4%）. Popliteal-tibial-pedal artery graft bypass was performed on 7 limbs （7.3%）. Results Arterial grafts in 92 limbs of 79 patients were patent on discharge. Three patients with 4 ischemic limbs （3.7%） died of respiratory failure 12 hours, 3 days and 7 days after operation respectively. Early operation success rate was 96.3% （79/82）. Graft patency rate of patients on discharge was 95.8% （92/96）. The short-term total effectiveness rate was 83.3% （80/96）. Foot ulcer healing rate was 35.7% （10/28）. 97.4% （75/77） patients were followed up for a mean of 13.5 months. The long-term total effective rate was 80.7% （71/88）. The total amputation rate was 4.5% （4/88）. Mortality was 4.5%. The total graft patency rate was 90.9% （80/88）.Conclusion In the treatment of diabetic foot, distal lower limb arterial bypass can help to avoid amputation or lower the amputation level, and may promote foot ulcer healing and improve patient＇s quality of life.

根据脉冲工作状态下半导体激光器激射光谱随结温升高而发生红移的原理,提出了一种测试半导体激光器热弛豫时间的新方法——利用调节取样积分器(Boxcar)取样门,测量光信号脉冲内不同时刻的时间分辨光谱。采用此方法对TO封装和厘米-靶条(cm-Bar)阵列的AlGaAs/GaAs半导体激光器的动态热特性进行了测试,得到其热弛豫时间分别为66μs和96μs。
