For better understanding the chemical or biological information of ZNF191 （243-368）, we expressed the fusion protein of GST and ZNF191 （243-368）, and used it to obtain the binding DNA sequence of this zinc finger protein. But in the process of expression and purification, we found this fusion protein slowly degradated. For resolving this problem, we simultaneously added charged amino acids L-Arg and L-Glu to the solution of fusion protein, and demonstrated that this method can dramatically increase the stability of this fusion protein. This method can make the fusion protein suitable for the continuous works, especially for situations where high protein concentration and long-term stability without precipitate and degradation of protein are required.

With the help of a set of exact closed-form solutions to the stationary Gross–Pitaevskii （GP） equation, we calculate the collective excitation and quantum depletion of a weakly interacting Bose gas in the presence of a periodic array of quantum wells. The excitation spectrum （Bogoliubov spectrum） is obtained from the solution of the linearized time-dependent GP equation, which develops energy bands hωj（ p） periodic in quasi-momentum space. Moreover, we calculate the excitation strengths Zj（ p） relative to the density operator and then the dynamic structure factor S（ p,ω）. Accordingly, the analytical expressions of quantum depletion of the system are obtained. We find that the quantum depletion is enhanced when the interatomic interactions become larger and the potential is sufficiently deep. The conditions for the possible experimental realization of our scenario are also proposed.

A series of cadmium-calcium hydroxyapatite solid solutions was prepared by an aqueous precipitation method. By various means, the characterizations confirmed the formation of continuous solid solutions over all ranges of Cd/（Cd＋Ca） atomic ratio. In the results, both lattice parameters a and c display slight deviations from Vegard’s rule when the Cd/（Cd＋Ca） atomic ratio is greater than 0.6. The particles change from smaller acicular to larger hexagonal columnar crystals as the Cd/（Cd＋Ca） atomic ratio increases from 0-0.60 to 0.60-1.00. The area of the phosphate peak for symmetric P-O stretching decreases with the increase in Cd/（Cd＋Ca） atomic ratio, and the peak disappears when the Cd/（Cd＋Ca） atomic ratio is greater than 0.6; the two phosphate peaks of P-O stretching gradually merge together for the Cd/（Cd＋Ca） atomic ratio near 0.60. These variations can be explained by a slight tendency of larger Cd ions to occupy M（2） sites and smaller Ca ions to prefer M（1） sites in the structure.

In this work, we investigate the effects of thiocyanate anions on the switching and the structure of poly(Nisopropylacrylamide)(PNIPAM) brushes using a molecular theory. Our model takes into consideration the PNIPAM–anion bonds, the electrostatic effects and their explicit coupling to the PNIPAM conformations. It is found that at low thiocyanate anion concentration, as the anion concentration of thiocyanate increases, thiocyanate anions are more associated with PNIPAM chains through the PNIPAM–anion bonds, which contributes to stronger electrostatic repulsion and leads to an increase of lower critical solution temperature(LCST). By analyzing the average volume fractions of PNIPAM brushes,it is found that the PNIPAM brush presents a plateau structure. Our results show that the thiocyanate anions promote phase segregation due to the PNIPAM–anion bonds and the electrostatic effect. According to our model, the reduction of LCST can be explained as follows: at high thiocyanate anion concentration, with the increase of thiocyanate concentration, more ion bindings occurring between thiocyanate anions and PNIPAM chains will result in the increase of the hydrophobicity of PNIPAM chains;when the increase of electrostatic repulsion is insufficient to overcome the hydrophobic interaction of PNIPAM chains, it will lead to the reduction of brush height and LCST at high thiocyanate anion concentration. Our theoretical results are consistent with the experimental observations, and provide a fundamental understanding of the effects of thiocyanate on the LCST of PNIPAM brushes.
