BACKGROUND Neovascular glaucoma(NVG)is likely to occur after pars plana vitrectomy(PPV)for diabetic retinopathy(DR)in some patients,thus reducing the expected *** the risk factors for NVG occurrence and building effective risk prediction models are currently required for clinical *** To develop a visual risk profile model to explore factors influencing DR after *** We retrospectively selected 151 patients with DR undergoing *** patients were divided into the NVG(NVG occurrence)and No-NVG(No NVG occurrence)groups according to the occurrence of NVG within 6 months after *** risk factors for postoperative NVG were screened by logistic regression.A nomogram prediction model was established using R software,and the model’s prediction accuracy was verified internally and externally,involving the receiver operator characteristic curve and correction *** After importing the data into a logistic regression model,we concluded that a posterior capsular defect,preoperative vascular endothelial growth factor≥302.90 pg/mL,glycosylated hemoglobin≥9.05%,aqueous fluid interleukin 6(IL-6)≥53.27 pg/mL,and aqueous fluid IL-10≥9.11 pg/mL were independent risk factors for postoperative NVG in patients with DR(P<0.05).A nomogram model was established based on the aforementioned independent risk factors,and a computer simulation repeated sampling method was used to internally and externally verify the nomogram *** area under the curve(AUC),sensitivity,and specificity of the model were 0.962[95%confidence interval(95%CI):0.932-0.991],91.5%,and 82.3%,*** AUC,sensitivity,and specificity of the external validation were 0.878(95%CI:0.746-0.982),66.7%,and 95.7%,*** A nomogram constructed based on the risk factors for postoperative NVG in patients with DR has a high prediction *** study can help formulate relevant preventive and treatment measures.

Association between physical activity and risk of gastroesophageal reflux disease:A systematic review and meta-analysis

Background:Lifestyle plays an important role in preventing and managing gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD).In response to the conflicting results in previous studies,we performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to investigate this ***:Relevant studies published until January 2023 were retrieved from 6 databases,and the prevalence of symptomatic gastroesophageal reflux(GER)or GERD was determined from the original studies.A random effects model was employed to meta-analyze the association by computing the pooled relative risk(RR)with 95%confidence intervals(95%CIs).Furthermore,subgroup and dose-response analyses were performed to explore subgroup differences and the association between cumulative physical activity(PA)time and ***:This meta-analysis included 33 studies comprising 242,850 participants.A significant negative association was observed between PA and the prevalence of symptomatic GER(RR=0.74,95%CI:0.66-0.83;p<0.01)or GERD(RR=0.80,95%CI:0.76-0.84;p<0.01),suggesting that engaging in PA might confer a protective benefit against *** analyses consistently indicated the presence of this association across nearly all subgroups,particularly among the older individuals(RR_(<40 years):RR_(≥40 years)=0.85:0.69,p<0.01)and smokers(RR_(smoker):RR_(non-smoker)=0.67:0.82,p=0.03).Furthermore,a dose-response analysis revealed that individuals who engaged in 150 min of PA per week had a 72.09%lower risk of developing ***:Maintaining high levels of PA decreased the risk of GERD,particularly among older adults and *** the recommended PA level of 150 min per week may significantly decrease the prevalence of GERD.

Formation mechanism of the protective layer in a blast furnace hearth

A variety of techniques, such as chemical analysis, scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction, were applied to characterize the adhesion protective layer formed below the blast furnace taphole level when a certain amount of titanium-bearing burden was used. Samples of the protective layer were extracted to identify the chemical composition, phase assemblage, andistribution. Furthermore, the formation mechanism of the protective layer was determined after clarifying the source of each componenFinally, a technical strategy was proposed for achieving a stable protective layer in the hearth. The results show that the protective layemainly exists in a bilayer form in the sidewall, namely, a titanium-bearing layer and a graphite layer. Both the layers contain the slag phaswhose major crystalline phase is magnesium melilite（Ca2Mg Si2O7） and the main source of the slag phase is coke ash. It is clearly determinethat solid particles such as graphite, Ti（C,N） and Mg Al2O4play an important role in the formation of the protective layer, and the key factofor promoting the formation of a stable protective layer is reasonable control of the evolution behavior of coke.

Syntheses and Vasodilatory Activities of New Pyrazolo[4,3-d]pyrimidin-7-ones

A series of novel pyrazolo [ 4,3-d ] pyrimidin-7-ones was designed and synthesized in order to find new potent phosphodiesterase 5 inhibitors（PDE5）. The structures of all the compounds were confirmed by IR, ^1H NMR and MS; their in vitro vasodilatory activities were tested on isolated rabbit aortic spiral strips. Among them, compound X3 displays a significant vasodilatory activity, which is more potent than verapamil.

Several Rules for Treating Phenol Wastewater via Oxidation by O_3/UV-formed Radicals

The treatment of phenol wastewater with an ultraviolet source and an oxone generator by introducing salicylic acid as the capturer is described. The presence of HO during the phenol degradation has been proved. The impacts of factors such as acidity and reaction time on the HO formation are also discussed. The results demonstrate that HO ＇ generated from ozone/UV oxidation under a basic condition is the immediate cause of phenol degradation. At room temperature and a pH value of 9. 93, the degradation of phenol occurs rapidly within 0. 5 rain and the removal of phe- nol（ 100 mg/L） is above 98. 5% within 15 min; in the meantime, the pH value declines gradually with the degradation of phenol. A discussion about the formation and the transformation of the intermediate products during phenol degradation is included.

The Middle Permian Lucaogou Formation in the Jimusar Sag,eastern Junggar Basin,NW China,was deposited in a salt lake within an intracontinental rift basin with intense hydrothermal ***-sedimentary dolomite in the form of three types of dolostones,namely,analcime-feldspar dolostone(AFD),silicic dolostone(SD)and buddingtonite-albite dolostone(BAD),related to syn-sedimentary hydrothermal activity at lake bottom was *** characteristics and formation mechanism of the dolomite were studied based on micron-scale petrographic and isotopic geochemical *** syn-depositional formation of these dolostones was indicated by their rock-mineral features and syn-sedimentary deformation *** dolomite was composed of relatively poorly ordered proto-dolomite crystals with micron-sized spherical or sub-spherical morphology and coexisted with hydrothermal minerals,including analcime,buddingtonite,albite and *** clasts were replaced by the dolomite,indicating high-temperature conditions during *** remarkably low strontium isotopic compositions of the dolostones(87Sr/86Sr with an average of 0.705687)indicated that mantle-derived materials might have involved in the ore-forming *** dolostones had positiveδ13CPDB values(with an average of 6.94‰)and negativeδ18OPDB values(with an average of-8.12‰).Based on theδ18OPDB values,the formation temperatures of the dolomite were at least^25ºC higher than those of the penecontemporaneous dolomite in the Lucaogou Formation in the study *** is concluded that the dolomite precipitated from hydrothermal fluid erupting at the lake *** possible genetic models are *** suggest that the hydrothermal-sedimentary dolomite is an important genetic type,and this study may help increase the awareness of this understudied type of dolomite.

Effect of Al2O3 on the viscosity of CaO-SiO2-Al2O3-MgO-Cr2O3 slags

We investigated the effect of Al2O3 content on the viscosity of CaO-SiO2-Al2O3-8wt%MgO-1wt%Cr2O3(mass ratio of CaO/SiO2 is 1.0,and Al2O3 content is 17wt%-29wt%)*** results show that the viscosity of the slag increases gradually with increases in the Al2O3 content in the range of 17wt%to 29wt%due to the role of Al2O3 as a network former in the polymerization of the aluminosilicate structure of the *** increases in the Al2O3 content from 17wt%to 29wt%,the apparent activation energy of the slags also increases from 180.85 to 210.23 kJ/mol,which is consistent with the variation in the critical *** Fourier-transform infrared spectra indicate that the degree of polymerization of this slag is increased by the addition of *** application of Iida’s model for predicting the slag viscosity in the presence of Cr2O3 indicates that the calculated viscosity values fit well with the measured values when both the temperature and Al2O3 content are at relatively low levels,i.e.,the temperature range of 1673 to 1803 K and the Al2O3 content range of 17wt%-29wt%in CaO-SiO2-Al2O3-8wt%MgO-1wt%Cr2O3 slag.

Cooling phenomena in blast furnace hearth

Cooling water provides the best protection for refractory in the blast furnace hearth. Stable and suitable water quality and abundant cooling water are the basis for long service life of the hearth. Some phenomena about cooling system in the commercial blast furnaces were described, and reasonable explanations of these phenomena were analyzed. The results show that increasing the amount of cooling water and reducing the inlet temperature of cooling water can increase the cooling effect significantly in the case of water scaling. Heat flux in the blast furnace hearth is the average heat flux of cooling stave, and the erosion of carbon brick is uneven. There is no direct connection between the actual erosion condition and the heat flux in the hearth. The change trend of thermocouple temperature and heat flux in the hearth can reflect whether the gaps exist among the bricks or not, providing an effective guidance for industrial production and the evaluation of safety state in the hearth. And, the film boiling will not occur in the normal cooling system in the blast furnace hearth.

Reduction behavior and kinetics of vanadium–titanium sinters under high potential oxygen enriched pulverized coal injection

In this work, the reduction behavior of vanadium–titanium sinters was studied under five different sets of conditions of pulverized coal injection with oxygen enrichment. The modified random pore model was established to analyze the reduction kinetics. The results show that the reduction rate of sinters was accelerated by an increase of CO and H2contents. Meanwhile, with the increase in CO and H2contents, the increasing range of the medium reduction index (MRE) of sinters decreased. The increasing oxygen enrichment ratio played a diminishing role in improving the reduction behavior of the sinters. The reducing process kinetic parameters were solved using the modified random role model. The results indicated that, with increasing oxygen enrichment, the contents of CO and H2in the reducing gas increased. The reduction activation energy of the sinters decreased to between 20.4 and 23.2 kJ/mol. © 2017, The Author(s).

Reduction kinetics of iron oxide pellets with H_2 and CO mixtures

Reduction of hematite pellets using H2-CO mixtures with a wide range of H2/CO by molar （1：0, 3：1, 1：1, 1：3, and 0：1） at different reducing temperatures （1073, 1173, and 1273 K） was conducted in a program reducing furnace. Based on an unreacted core model, the effective diffusion coefficient and reaction rate constant in several cases were determined, and then the rate-control step and transition were analyzed. In the results, the effective diffusion coefficient and reaction rate constant increase with the rise in temperature or hydrogen content. Reduction of iron oxide pellets using an H2-CO mixture is a compound control system; the reaction rate is dominated by chemical reaction at the very beginning, competition during the reduction process subsequently, and internal gas diffusion at the end. At low hydrogen content, increasing temperature takes the transition point of the rate-control step to a high reduction degree, but at high hydrogen content, the effect of temperature on the transition point weakens.
