Study on Vortex-Induced Motions of A New Type of Deep Draft Multi-Columns FDPSO

A numerical simulation and an experimental study on vortex-induced motion（VIM） of a new type of deep draft multi-columns floating drilling production, storage and offloading（FDPSO） are presented in this paper. The main dimension, the special variable cross-section column and the cabin arrangement of the octagonal pontoon are introduced based on the result. The numerical simulation is adapted to study the effects of current incidence angles and reduced velocities on this platform’s sway motion response. The 300 m water depth equivalent truncated mooring system is adopted for the model tests. The model tests are carried out to check the reliability of numerical simulation. The results consist of surge, sway and yaw motions, as well as motion trajectories. The maximum sway amplitudes for different types of offshore platform is also studied. The main results show that the peak frequencies of sway motion under different current incidence angles and reduced velocities vary around the natural frequency. The analysis result of flow field indicates that the change of distribution of vortex in vertical presents significant influences on the VIM of platform. The trend of sway amplitude ratio curve of this new type FDPSO differs from the other types of platform. Under 45° current incidence angle, the sway amplitude of this new type of FDPSO is much smaller than those of other types of offshore platform at 4.4 ≤ V;≤ 8.9. The typical ‘8’ shape trajectory does not appear in the platform’s motion trajectories.

Variations in Carbohydrate and Protein Accumulation among Spikelets at Different Positions Within a Panicle During Rice Grain Filling

The accumulation dynamics of kernel components for spikelets at different positions within a rice panicle were investigated during grain filling to understand the physiological reasons for the variation of grain *** rice cultivars,Yangdao 6 （indica） and Yangjing 9538 （japonica）,were field-grown,and the grain filling characters and contents of starch,soluble sugar,and protein of the spikelets at different positions were *** were significant differences in matter accumulation among spikelets at different positions during grain *** early-flowering spikelets presented dominance over the late-flowering spikelets in initial time and initial rate of *** the initial and mid filling stages,the contents and the rates of starch and amylose accumulation in spikelets decreased with the flowering sequence,but soluble sugar content （SSC） exhibited the opposite *** difference in SSC among the spikelets of Yangjing 9538 was greater than that of Yangdao 6,but amylose content in mature spikelets showed no obvious relationship to their flowering *** crude protein content （CPC） of early-flowering spikelets decreased more rapidly than that of late-flowering ones at the initial filling stage,and CPC in the spikelets on the secondary branch was higher than that on the primary branch,but CPC in early-flowering ones was lower than that in late-flowering across the whole grain filling *** water content （GWC） of early-flowering spikelets decreased more rapidly than that of late-flowering spikelets on the same branch at the initial and mid filling stages,especially for the top grain on each primary *** results suggested that poor grain filling of late-flowering spikelets may be attributed to their low biological activity rather than carbohydrate supply limitation.

Plant chlorophyll biosynthesis and chloroplast development are two complex processes that are regulated by exogenous and endogenous factors. In this study, we identified OsDXR, a gene encoding a reductoisomerase that positively regulates chlorophyll biosynthesis and chloroplast development in rice. OsDXR knock-out lines displayed the albino phenotype and could not complete the whole life cycle process. OsDXR was highly expressed in rice leaves, and subcellular localization indicated that OsDXR is a chloroplast protein. Many genes involved in chlorophyll biosynthesis and chloroplast development were differentially expressed in the OsDXR knock-out lines compared to the wild ***, we found that the RNA editing efficiencies of ndhA-1019 and rpl2-1 were significantly reduced in the OsDXR knock-out lines. Furthermore, OsDXR interacted with the RNA editing factor OsMORF1 in a yeast two-hybrid screen and bimolecular fluorescence complementation assay. Finally, disruption of the plastidial 2-C-methyl-derythritol-4-phosphate pathway resulted in defects in chloroplast development and the RNA editing of chloroplast genes.

Turbulent Agglomeration of Microparticles in a Cylinder Wake Flow Using LES-DEM:Focusing on the Effect of the Reynolds Number

Turbulent agglomeration is viewed as a promising technology for enhancing fine particle removal *** better understand particle transport,agglomeration behaviors,and fluid-particle interactions,we numerically explored these phenomena under cylindrical vortex wake influence using a coupled large eddy simulation and discrete element method（LES-DEM） *** validity of the LES approach was verified by comparison with available direct numerical simulation（DNS） *** adopted the Johnson-Kendall-Roberts（JKR） contact model for particle-particle *** particle dispersion and agglomeration characteristics of particles with different diameters（dp=2-20 μm） in the laminar and transition of shear layer（TrSL） flow regimes were *** particles were concentrated at the vortex centers,while larger particles accumulated around the *** agglomeration efficiency exhibited an M-shaped profile spanwise（y-direction）.With increasing Reynolds number,the agglomeration efficiency and turbulence intensity *** particle agglomeration efficiency peaks at a certain Reynolds ***,at higher Reynolds numbers,reducing the residence time of particles in the flow field decreases the agglomeration efficiency.

Visible-light-responsive homologous heterostructure of oxynitrides constructed to boost charge separation and water splitting

Constructing type II heterostructures represents a widely recognized strategy for enhancing charge separation and photocatalytic efficiency,but it remains challenging to fabricate homologous heterostructures based on visible-light-responsive semiconductors,especially for popularly investigated （oxy）nitrides with low thermal ***,we synthesized a homologous heterostructure （denoted as YTON＿H） based on the oxynitrides of YTaO4-xNyand YTa *** heterostructure exhibits type II band structure alignment and intimate interface achieved through a magnesium （Mg） powder-assisted nitridation *** with widely reported heterologous heterostructures,the as-obtained YTON＿H homologous heterostructure could similarly exhibit enhanced charge separation as well as photocatalytic water splitting performance with respect to its counterparts(YTaO4-xNyand YTaON2).Meanwhile,detailed structural characterizations and spectroscopy analysis have been made to confirm the formation of heterostructure and promotion of spatial charge separation.

BACKGROUND:Increasing evidence suggests that a close interaction of Kupffer cells with T cells plays a central role in concanavalin A-induced hepatic injury in mice,but the underlying mechanisms remain *** present study aimed to determine the relative roles of Th1 and Th17 type responses in concanavalin A-induced hepatic injury in mice, and to investigate whether or not Kupffer cells contribute to hepatic injury via a Th1 or Th17 type response-dependent pathway. METHODS:Immune-mediated hepatic injury was induced in C57BL/6 mice by intravenous injection of concanavalin A. Kupffer cells were inactivated by pretreatment with gadolinium chloride 24 hours before the concanavalin A *** interferon-gamma(IFN-γ)and interleukin-17(IL-17)pathways were blocked by specific neutralizing *** injury was assessed using serum transferase activity and pathological *** of inflammatory cytokines within the liver was detected by real-time polymerase chain reaction and immunohistochemistry. RESULTS:Neutralization of IFN-γsignificantly attenuated concanavalin A-induced hepatic ***,neutralization of IL-17 failed to suppress the *** of Kupffer cells by gadolinium chloride pretreatment protected against concanavalin A-induced injury and significantly reduced hepatic cytokine levels including TNF-α,IL-6 and IFN-γbut not ***:Our findings suggest that Kupffer cells contribute to concanavalin A-induced hepatic injury via a Th1 type response-dependent pathway and production of inflammatory cytokines including TNF-α,IL-6 and IFN-γ.

风载荷是海洋平台设计载荷之一,直接关系到平台稳性,确定平台在不同工况下的风荷载对于平台安全设计具有重要的工程意义。该文基于Fluent软件结合自编UDF程序,考虑Davenport、NPD以及API三种典型风谱的影响,利用简谐波叠加法将风谱由频域转换为时域内的随机脉动风速,引入雷诺平均法求解NS方程结合分离涡(DES)湍流模型对半潜式钻井服务支持平台在自存海况下的风力和风倾力矩开展了数值研究,并将数值模拟得到的最大风力及风倾力矩与ABS、DNV以及CCS的计算结果进行了对比验证。计算结果表明:平台受到的风力和风倾力矩与风谱自身特性、平台倾斜角及风向角等因素密不可分;同一工况下采用Davenport与NPD风谱计算时平台受到的平均风力(矩)较为接近;NPD风谱作用时平台受到的随机最大风力(矩)最大;采用API与NPD风谱计算时,各工况下最小风力(矩)随风向角的变化趋势、计算结果均基本一致。

针对高动态范围(14 bit)红外图像融合后并不能直接用于显示的问题,设计了一种用于增强红外图像可视性的融合框架。利用数字全变分滤波器对图像分层处理,然后对每一层进行动态范围压缩,自适应的合成低动态范围图像(8 bit),再通过传统融合算法进行融合,得到可视性增强的低动态范围融合图像。实验结果表明,相较于目前已有的方法,该框架融合得到的信息量大,在增强对比度的同时能有效抑制噪声,明显改善融合图像的视觉效果。

Unraveling the significance of cobalt on transformation kinetics,crystallography and impact toughness in high-strength steels

This work reveals the significant effects of cobalt(Co)on the microstructure and impact toughness of as-quenched highstrength steels by experimental characterizations and thermo-kinetic *** results show that the Co-bearing steel exhibits finer blocks and a lower ductile-brittle transition temperature than the steel without ***,the Co-bearing steel reveals higher transformation rates at the intermediate stage with bainite volume fraction ranging from around 0.1 to *** improved impact toughness of the Co-bearing steel results from the higher dense block boundaries dominated by the V1/V2 variant ***,the addition of Co induces a larger transformation driving force and a lower bainite start temperature(BS),thereby contributing to the refinement of blocks and the increase of the V1/V2 variant *** findings would be instructive for the composition,microstructure design,and property optimization of high-strength steels.
