The synaptic transistor,which is a neuromorphic device with brain-like functions,has garnered significant attention due to characteristics such as low energy consumption,high integration,multiple functions,and high computational ***,the current synaptic transistor possesses a complicated structure and involves complex manufacturing steps,which is not conducive to low-cost,large-scale bionic ***,we introduce a simple MoS2synaptic transistor exhibiting robust synaptic *** transistor utilizes magnetron sputtering manufacture to combine the process of device metal electrode deposition and the introduction of defect states,which helps streamline the manufacturing process into a single *** long-term potentiation and long-term depression in photoelectric coordination are initially ***,biological functions,such as double pulse facilitation and the transformation behavior of short-term memory to long-term memory,are thoroughly evaluated,along with learning-forgetting-relearning ***,the device exhibits robust synaptic plasticity until incident light angles down to 30° to imitate the multi-to-one axon-cellular ***,a classical simulation of Pavlov's dog conditioned reflex is demonstrated along with the multiview extraction *** experimental results demonstrate a promising synaptic transistor with a simple structure,manufacturing technique,and excellent *** further indicates the potential for large-scale integration of bionic neuromorphic systems.

Attitude control without angular velocity measurement for flexible satellites

In this paper, by using quaternion models, the problem of attitude control is investigated for a class of flexible satellites. Two control laws are presented for the considered flexible satellite models to guarantee convergence of the closed-loop systems without using angular velocity measurement. One is in the form of a partial state feedback for the case where the modal variable is available, and the other is in the form of an observer-based partial state feedback for the case where the modal variable cannot be measured. Finally, an example is employed to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed control laws.

Quantum advantages for image filtering on images with efficient encoding and lower-bounded signal-to-noise ratio

Quantum image processing has long been a fascinating field,but establishing the existence of quantum speedup for all images remains *** this study,we aim to identify a subset of images for which a quantum algorithm can be developed with a guaranteed ***,we present a quantum image filtering algorithm that exhibits an exponential speedup for efficiently encoded images with a lower-bounded signal-to-noise *** approach relies on a fixed-point Grover's search to emulate the effect of Hadamard multiplication with the filtering *** demonstrate its effectiveness,we apply our method to three typical filtering ***,we emphasize the significance of the efficient-encoding assumption by illustrating that the quantum speedup may diminish for images lacking efficient *** work underscores the importance of exploring image types and features to realize potential quantum advantages in image processing.

Quantum spectral clustering algorithm for unsupervised learning

Clustering is one of the most crucial problems in unsupervised learning, and the well-known k-means algorithm can be implemented on a quantum computer with a significant speedup. However, for the clustering problems that cannot be solved using the k-means algorithm, a powerful method called spectral clustering is used. In this study, we propose a circuit design to implement spectral clustering on a quantum processor with substantial speedup by initializing the processor into a maximally entangled state and encoding the data information into an efficiently simulatable Hamiltonian. Compared to the established quantum kmeans algorithms, our method does not require a quantum random access memory or a quantum adiabatic process. It relies on an appropriate embedding of quantum phase estimation into Grover's search to gain the quantum speedup. Simulations demonstrate that our method effectively solves clustering problems and is an important supplement to quantum k-means algorithm for unsupervised learning.

Preliminary investigation of building damage in Hatay under February 6,2023 Turkey earthquakes

On February 6,2023,an M_(w)7.8 earthquake hit the south of Kahramanmaras prefecture,Turkey,followed by another M_(w)7.5 earthquake after nine hours in the middle region of the Kahramanmaras *** than 84,000 buildings collapsed or were severely damaged,and more than 50,000 lives were lost in Turkey and *** of the authors,as members of Chinese rescue team,entered Antakya,Hatay prefecture,and investigated the damaged *** paper first summarizes the damage patterns of buildings and provides three reasons for the massive number of collapsed buildings;i.e.,the lack of seismic measures for better ductility,site effects such as liquefaction and surface rupture,and pronounced low-frequency components of the ground ***,the seismic responses of two typical buildings are calculated based on the geometric data estimated by visual *** results imply that the resonance of the whole structure and the poorer ductility of key members resulted in the collapse of ***,some conclusions are *** that although a large number of buildings were seriously damaged to collapse,the majority of buildings in the areas of extreme shaking were lightly or moderately damaged,which implies that well designed and constructed buildings were able to survive and protect human lives even in over-design earthquakes.

A duplication-free quantum neural network for universal approximation

Different from the concept of universal computation,the universality of a quantum neural network focuses on the ability to approximate arbitrary functions and is an important guarantee for ***,conventional approaches of constructing a universal quantum neural network may result in a huge quantum register that is challenging to implement due to noise on a near-term *** address this,we propose a simple design of a duplication-free quantum neural network whose universality can be rigorously ***,instead of using multiple duplicates of the quantum register,our method relies on a single quantum register combined with multiple activation functions to create nonlinearity and achieve ***,our proposal requires significantly fewer qubits with shallower circuits,and hence substantially reduces the resource overhead and the noise *** addition,simulations demonstrate that our universality design is able to achieve a better learning accuracy in the presence of noise,illustrating a great potential in solving larger-scale learning problems on near-term devices.

Astudy on flooding scenario simulation of future extreme precipitation in Shanghai

In the context of climate warming and urbanization, predictions and inundation simulations for future extreme precipitation have become highly active research topics. In this paper, using daily precipitation recorded at 10 meteorological stations in Shanghai for the period 1961–2010, the daily precipitation of each station during the period 2011–2099 was simulated by the statistical downscaling model (SDSM). And we examined the varying tendencies of future precipitation by the Mann- Kendall test. Further, the Soil Conservation Service (SCS) model and Pearson-III distribution curve were used to simulate the waterlogging duration and depth of future extreme precipitation in different scenarios with 3-, 5-, 10-, 20-, 50-, and 100-year return periods. The results show that: 1) Precipitation in Shanghai before the 2050s shows a trend of increasing and decreasing alternations, followed by a trend of decreasing and a marked decrease in about the 2070s. 2) In the 21st century, the waterlogging duration with return periods of 3, 5, and 10 years in Shanghai is predicted to last for less than 30 minutes, while the return periods of 20, 50, and 100 years last for less than 45 minutes. From the spatial distribution, the waterlogging duration to the east and south of the Huangpu River is predicted to be shorter than that of the west and north. 3) With the increase of the return periods, the depth of waterlogging is predicted to increase. The deepest inundated areas are Jinshan to the south-west of Shanghai, the east side of the Huangpu River, and Chongming Island.

Background:In China,Rhizoma atractylodis macrocephalae-Paeonia lactiflora Pall(Biazhu-Baishao,BZBS)is a classic herb pair used to treat intestinal stress syndrome,ulcerative colitis and other ***,the mechanism of BZBS in the treatment of functional constipation(FC)has been little studied and remains *** this study,a behavioral investigation,colon tissue morphology,enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(Elisa)and intestinal microflora analysis have been used to illuminate the potential mechanism of the effects of BZBS on FC in a rat ***:A FC rat model was constructed and BZBS was given as *** and recordings were made of the fecal moisture content,the defecation time of the first black stool,and the rate of intestinal *** was used to detect the expression levels of substance P(SP),vasoactive intestinal peptide(VIP),5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT)in the *** ascertain the composition of the microbial community,a high throughput 16S ribosomal RNA(16S r RNA)gene sequencing technique was ***:Oral administration of BZBS significantly ameliorated several key excretion parameters,including the time to first black stool defecation,stool water content,and the propulsion rate in the small intestine in FC *** increased the expression of SP,VIP and 5-HT in the colon.16S r RNA gene sequencing results showed that BZBS changed the microbial community structure,decreased the Bacteroidetes/Firmicutes ratio,increased the relative abundance of Blautia and Fusicatenibacter,and decreased the relative abundance of Ruminococcus and ***:BZBS effectively alleviates FC and improves dysbacteriosis.

The control of multiple homo nuclear spin systems is a long-standing problem in nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR).In this paper,we introduce the brachistchrone algorithm to local unitary control of such systems,which usually take a long operation time to discriminate because of their small resonant frequency *** show that for this particular problem the model can be reduced from 2-dimensional to 2N-dimensional for a iV-spin *** simulations demonstrates the effectiveness of the algorithm.
