2.5-dimension soil seismic response to oblique incident waves based on exact free-field solution

With the three dimensional(3D)oblique incident waves exactly determined for the free field,the soil seismic responses in both frequency and time domains are studied by the 2.5 dimension(2.5D)finite/infinite element method.First,the free-field responses in frequency domain are solved exactly for 3D arbitrary incident P and SV waves,which requires no coordinate conversion or extra effort for SV waves with super-critical incident angles.Next,the earthquake spectra are incorporated by the concept of equivalent seismic forces on the near-field boundary,based only on the displacements input derived for unit ground accelerations of each frequency using the 2.5D approach.For the asymmetric 2.5D finite/infinite element model adopted,the procedure for soil seismic analysis is presented.The solutions computed by the proposed method are verified against those of Wolf’s and de Barros and Luco’s and for inversely calculated ground motions.Of interest is that abrupt variation in soil response occurs around the critical angle on the wave propagation plane for SV waves.In addition,the horizontal displacements attenuate with increasing horizontal incident angle,while the longitudinal ones increase inversely for 3D incident P and SV waves.

Arctic sea ice is broadly regarded as an indicator and amplifier of global climate change.The rapid changes in Arctic sea ice have been widely concerned.However,the spatiotemporal changes in the horizontal and vertical dimensions of Arctic sea ice and its asymmetry during the melt and freeze seasons are rarely quantified simultaneously based on multiple sources of the same long time series.In this study,the spatiotemporal variation and freeze-thaw asymmetry of Arctic sea ice were investigated from both the horizontal and vertical dimensions during 1979–2020 based on remote sensing and assimilation data.The results indicated that Arctic sea ice was declining at a remarkably high rate of–5.4×10^(4) km^(2)/a in sea ice area(SIA)and–2.2 cm/a in sea ice thickness(SIT)during 1979 to 2020,and the reduction of SIA and SIT was the largest in summer and the smallest in winter.Spatially,compared with other sub-regions,SIA showed a sharper declining trend in the Barents Sea,Kara Sea,and East Siberian Sea,while SIT presented a larger downward trend in the northern Canadian Archipelago,northern Greenland,and the East Siberian Sea.Regarding to the seasonal trend of sea ice on sub-region scale,the reduction rate of SIA exhibited an apparent spatial heterogeneity among seasons,especially in summer and winter,i.e.,the sub-regions linked to the open ocean exhibited a higher decline rate in winter;however,the other sub-regions blocked by the coastlines presented a greater decline rate in summer.For SIT,the sub-regions such as the Beaufort Sea,East Siberian Sea,Chukchi Sea,Central Arctic,and Canadian Archipelago always showed a higher downward rate in all seasons.Furthermore,a striking freeze-thaw asymmetry of Arctic sea ice was also detected.Comparing sea ice changes in different dimensions,sea ice over most regions in the Arctic showed an early retreat and rapid advance in the horizontal dimension but late melting and gradual freezing in the vertical dimension.The amount of sea ice melting and freezing was disequilibrium in the Arc

This paper investigates the global dynamics of a reaction-diffusion-advection Leslie-Gower predator-prey model in open advective environments.We find that there exist critical advection rates,intrinsic growth rates,diffusion rates and length of the domain,which classify the global dynamics of the Leslie-Gower predator-prey system into three scenarios:coexistence,persistence of prey only and extinction of both species.The results reveal some significant differences with the classical specialist and generalist predator-prey systems.In particular,it is found that the critical advection rates of prey and predator are independent of each other and the parameters about predation rate have no influence on the dynamics of system.The theoretical results provide some interesting highlights in ecological protection in streams or rivers.

In response to problems of poor sampling quality,low sensitivity,and high demand for medical personnel regarding the current severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)oropharyngeal(OP)swab sampling used in China,we aimed to evaluate the diagnostic performance and acceptability of saliva-based nucleic acid amplification tests(NAATs)in China.The results showed that,using nasopharyngeal(NP)swab results as the gold standard,the overall sensitivities for saliva specimens and OP swabs were 93.3%and 85.0%,the specificities were 92.6%and 93.8%,respectively.The results of an acceptability survey showed that the scores for saliva,OP,and NP samples were 9.46±1.69,8.11±2.42,and 4.58±3.82 out of 10,respectively,with significant differences among the three groups(P<0.05).With higher sensitivity,comparable specificity,and strong public preference,saliva-based NAATs represent a convenient and effective method for detecting SARS-CoV-2 in future epidemics.

The purpose of this project is used for exploring the mechanism of Callistephus chinensis in the treatment of diabetes by network pharmacology and molecular docking methods.The target of Callistephus chinensis was obtained from SwissTargetPrediction database,while the target related to diabetes was obtained from GeneCards and OMIM databases.The target was added in String database to build the protein interaction network.GO biological process enrichment analysis and KEGG pathway enrichment analysis were carried out by Metascape software,then the target-pathway network was constructed.Molecular docking was carried out in Discovery Studio 2016 Client software to verify the binding force of Callistephus chinensis flavonoid compounds with key targets.In this study,10 potential active components were selected from the flavonoid monomer compounds of Callistephus chinensis.1847 biological processes(BP),126 cell compositions(CC)and 256 molecular functions(MF)were obtained by GO enrichment analysis;a total of 194 pathways were involved in KEGG enrichment analysis of 192 cross targets.Network analysis showed that quercetin was the main active component of flavonoids in the treatment of diabetes,AKT1,TNF,VEGFA,EGFR,SRC and other related signals were in relation to the treatment of diabetes.This study showed that Callistephus chinensis flavonoid compounds play a role in the treatment of diabetes by regulating multi-target and multi-pathway.

Forkhead box J3(FOXJ3)is a member of the forkhead box(Fox)family.Recently,increasing evidence has revealed the relationship between Fox family members and cancer.FOXJ3 is involved in various types of cancer,including lung cancer,tongue squamous carcinoma,and prostate cancer;however,a comprehensive pan-cancer analysis of FOXJ3 remains lacking.Here,we explored the function of FOXJ3 across cancers using online websites and databases including TIMER2.0,Sanger Box,UALCAN,GEPIA2.0,c Bio Portal,CancerSEA,STRING,Bio GRID and Metascape to analyze the role of FOXJ3 in cancers.Abnormal expression of FOXJ3 was found in various tumors.The genetic alteration percentage in tumors was determined,and elevated FOXJ3 expression was found to be associated with worse overall survival in brain lower grade glioma(LGG),liver hepatocellular carcinoma(LIHC),sarcoma(SARC)and thyroid carcinoma.Elevated FOXJ3 expression was related to worse prognosis with disease-free survival in adrenocortical carcinoma,LGG and LIHC.FOXJ3 expression was related to immune infiltration in several cancers.Enrichment analysis showed that histone modification,the TGF-βsignaling pathway,and chromatin organization were the top three enriched ontology clusters of the top 100 similar genes of FOXJ3.Our pancancer analysis provides comprehensive insights into FOXJ3 from the perspective of bioinformatics in different cancers,where it serves as a potential biomarker for prognosis,especially in LGG and LIHC.FOXJ3 is also correlated with immune infiltrates in certain human tumors.

Increased human activities in China's coastal zone have resulted in the depletion of ecological land resources.Thus,conducting current and future multi-scenario simulation research on land use and land cover change(LUCC)is crucial for guiding the healthy and sustainable development of coastal zones.System dynamic(SD)-future land use simulation(FLUS)model,a coupled simulation model,was developed to analyze land use dynamics in China's coastal zone.This model encompasses five scenarios,namely,SSP1-RCP2.6(A),SSP2-RCP4.5(B),SSP3-RCP4.5(C),SSP4-RCP4.5(D),and SSP5-RCP8.5(E).The SD model simulates land use demand on an annual basis up to the year 2100.Subsequently,the FLUS model determines the spatial distribution of land use for the near term(2035),medium term(2050),and long term(2100).Results reveal a slowing trend in land use changes in China's coastal zone from 2000–2020.Among these changes,the expansion rate of construction land was the highest and exhibited an annual decrease.By 2100,land use predictions exhibit high accuracy,and notable differences are observed in trends across scenarios.In summary,the expansion of production,living,and ecological spaces toward the sea remains prominent.Scenario A emphasizes reduced land resource dependence,benefiting ecological land protection.Scenario B witnesses an intensified expansion of artificial wetlands.Scenario C sees substantial land needs for living and production,while Scenario D shows coastal forest and grassland shrinkage.Lastly,in Scenario E,the conflict between humans and land intensifies.This study presents pertinent recommendations for the future development,utilization,and management of coastal areas in China.The research contributes valuable scientific support for informed,long-term strategic decision making within coastal regions.

Multi-Objective Optimization for an Industrial Grinding and Classification Process Based on PBM and RSM

The grinding and classification process is one of the key sub-processes in mineral processing, which influences the final process indexes significantly and determines energy and ball consumption of the whole plant. Therefore, optimal control of the process has been very important in practice. In order to stabilize the grinding index and improve grinding capacity in the process,a process model based on population balance model(PBM) is calibrated in this study. The correlation between the mill power and the operating variables in the grinding process is modelled by using the response surface method(RSM), which solves the problem where the traditional power modeling method relies on some unobservable mechanism-related parameters. On this basis, a multi-objective optimization model is established to maximize the useful power of the grinding circuit to improve the throughput of the grinding operation and improve the fraction of –0.074 mm particles in the hydrocyclone overflow to smooth the subsequent flotation operation. The elite non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm-II(NSGA-II) is then employed to solve the multi-objective optimization problem. Finally, subjective and objective weighting methods and integrated multi-attribute decision-making methods are used to select the optimal solution on the Pareto optimal solution set. The results demonstrate that the throughput of the mill and the fraction of –0.074 mm particles in the overflow of the cyclone are increased by 3.83 t/h and 2.53%, respectively.

Various plumage colors are roughly produced by pigment-based colors and structural colors [1,2]. Brilliant iridescent plumage colors (in which the color changes depending on the reflectance spectra of sunlight at different viewing angles) greatly expand the range of plumage colors and create colors unachievable by plants or other animals [1].
