Metabolomics provide insights into the endogenous mechanism of strobilation in the scyphozoan jellyfi sh Rhopilema esculentum

Strobilation is a well-organized metamorphosis process in scyphozoan jellyfi sh,through which the benthic polyp develops into the pelagic medusa.So far,knowledge on the molecular mechanisms behind the drastic morphological and physiological changes remains limited.In the present study,the metabolic profi les in polyp and strobila stages of jellyfi sh Rhopilema esculentum were examined using ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled to a mass spectrometer.A total of 3071 metabolites with putative annotation were detected,of which 167 were identifi ed as diff erential metabolites between the polyp and strobila.Among the metabolites,31 signifi cantly decreased and 136 signifi cantly increased in abundance in the strobila.Thyroxin,one of the previously proposed strobilation inducer of Aurelia,was not detected in this study.The indole-containing compounds are known for triggering strobilation in Discomedusae.Two indole derivatives and an indole-isomer containing metabolite were detected among the most signifi cantly increased metabolites,which may be potential endogenous molecules for strobilation initiation.The membrane-associated phospholipids and the infl ammation and oxidative stress-related eicosanoids were found to have signifi cant changes.Although the functions of these metabolites in strobilation are not yet completely known,they provide some clues to the induction of the process of strobilation and metabolic responses that take place during strobilation.

We have developed a practical and mild electrochemical protocol for cyanation and cyanomethylation of trimethylammonium salts through a pathway involving C–N bond cleavage without the need for an exter-nal stoichiometric reducing agent or a sacrificial anode.The reaction employs tosyl cyanide(TsCN)or azido allyl alcohol as the cyanation or cyanomethylation reagent,respectively.It shows high functional group compatibility and can be applied for the cyanation of natural product derivatives.Preliminary mechanistic studies indicate the involvement of a radical addition pathway.

Estimating the proportion of land-use types in different regions is essential to promote the organization of a compact city and reduce energy consumption.However,existing research in this area has a few limitations:(1)lack of consideration of land-use distribution-related factors other than POIs;(2)inability to extract complex relations from heterogeneous information;and(3)overlooking the correlation between land-use types.To overcome these limitations,we propose a knowledge-based approach for estimating land-use distributions.We designed a knowledge graph to display POIs and other related heterogeneous data and then utilized a knowledge embedding model to directly obtain the region embedding vectors by learning the complex and implicit relations present in the knowledge graph.Region embedding vectors were mapped to land-use distributions using a label distribution learning method integrating the correlation between land-use types.To prove the reliability and validity of our approach,we conducted a case study in Jinhua,China.The results indicated that the proposed model outperformed other algorithms in all evaluation indices,thus illustrating the potential of this method to achieve higher accuracy land-use distribution estimates.

Major depressive disorder(MDD)is one of the most common and serious mental diseases.Its overall 12-month prevalence rate is〜6%,while the lifetime risk increases about twofold(15%-18%),which means almost one in five people will experience at least one depressive episode during their lifetime[1].MDD is characterized by sad emotion accompanied by anhedonia,lack of energy or appetite,sleep disturbance,and low self-evaluation.In severe cases,suicidal ideation/attemp^ehavior or self-injurious behavior may occur,which seriously affects patients'daily life and social function.In 2010,MDD was listed as the second greatest disease burden in the world,and is expected to rank first by 2030[2].

The classification of township development types is an urgent problem that requires solution to enable the township to choose an appropriate development path.Using a township development classification method,we determine the township development types and their spatial patterns in Liaoning Province,China.The results showed that the patterns of township development types based on their general advantages had significant spatial differentiations.The planting,and livestock and poultry breeding township development types based on general advantages were mainly distributed across the central plain of Liaoning Province,China,and also concentrated in Dandong City−Dalian City along Yellow Sea coast,and in the northwest of Chaoyang City.The business and tourism,industry and mining,and residence township development types based on general advantages were distributed mainly along the Shenyang–Dalian Economic Belt in the central and southern Liaoning Province.The ecology township development type based on general advantages was mainly distributed in the eastern and western Liaoning Province to maintain regional ecological security.Township development types based on non-advantages were sporadically distributed in the middle and western Liaoning Province.Based on the classification and spatial patterns,the differences between the distribution of twonship development types and the plan for the major functional areas of Liaoning Province were proposed which could provide the basis for the optimization of the major functional areas.

Green Infrastructure(GI)has garnered increasing attention from various regions due to its potential to mitigate urban heat island(UHI),which has been exacerbated by global climate change.This study focuses on the central area of Fuzhou city,one of the“furnace”cities,and aims to explore the correlation between the GI pattern and land surface temperature(LST)in the spring and autumn seasons.The research adopts a multiscale approach,starting from the urban scale and using urban geographic spatial characteristics,multispectral remote sensing data,and morphological spatial pattern analysis(MSPA).Significant MSPA elements were tested and combined with LST to conduct a geographic weighted regression(GWR)experiment.The findings reveal that the UHI in the central area of Fuzhou city has a spatial characteristic of“high temperature in the middle and low temperature around,”which is coupled with a“central scattered and peripheral concentrated”distribution of GI.This suggests that remote sensing data can effectively be utilised for UHI inversion.Additionally,the study finds that the complexity of GI,whether from the perspective of the overall GI pattern or the classification study based on the proportion of the core area,has an impact on the alleviation of UHI in both seasons.In conclusion,this study underscores the importance of a reasonable layout of urban green infrastructure for mitigating UHI.

With the modernization and internationalization of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),the requirement for quality control has increased.The quality marker(Q-marker)is an important standard in this field and has been implemented with remarkable success in recent years.However,the establishment of Qmarkers remains fragmented and the process lacks systematicity,resulting in inconsistent quality control and insufficient correlation with clinical efficacy and safety of TCM.This review introduces four multimodal integrated approaches that contribute to the discovery of more comprehensive and accurate Qmarkers,thus aiding in the establishment of new quality control patterns based on the characteristics and principles of TCM.These include the whole-process quality control strategy,chemical-activity-based screening method,efficacy,safety,and consistent combination strategy,and TCM theory-guided approach.Furthermore,methodologies and representative examples of these strategies are described,and important future directions and questions in this field are also proposed.

Towards sparse matrix operations:graph database approach for power grid computation

The construction of new power systems presents higher requirements for the Power Internet of Things(PIoT)technology.The“source-grid-load-storage”architecture of a new power system requires PIoT to have a stronger multi-source heterogeneous data fusion ability.Native graph databases have great advantages in dealing with multi-source heterogeneous data,which make them suitable for an increasing number of analytical computing tasks.However,only few existing graph database products have native support for matrix operation-related interfaces or functions,resulting in low efficiency when handling matrix calculations that are commonly encountered in power grids.In this paper,the matrix computation process is expressed by a strategy called graph description,which relies on the natural connection between the matrix and structure of the graph.Based on that,we implement matrix operations on graph database,including matrix multiplication,matrix decomposition,etc.Specifically,only the nodes relevant to the computation and their neighbors are concerned in the process,which prunes the influence of zero elements in the matrix and avoids useless iterations compared to the conventional matrix computation.Based on the graph description,a series of power grid computations can be implemented on graph database,which reduces redundant data import and export operations while leveraging the parallel computing capability of graph database.It promotes the efficiency of PIoT when handling multi-source heterogeneous data.An comprehensive experimental study over two different scale power system datasets compares the proposed method with Python and MATLAB baselines.The results reveal the superior performance of our proposed method in both power flow and N-1 contingency computations.
