Stable chlorine isotopic signatures and fractionation mechanism of groundwater in Anyang,China

The present work provides an online Bench II-IRMS technique for the measurement of stable chlorine isotope ratio,which is used to measure the δ^(37)Cl of 38 groundwater samples from the Karst and Quaternary aquifers in Anyang area.The regional distribution and signature of δ^(37)Cl value are characterized on the base of isotopic data.The results suggest that the δ^(37)Cl value of Quaternary groundwater decreases with increasing Cl^(−) concentration,and has no correlation with δ^(18)O andδD values,but closely correlates with the depth to water table.The fractionation mechanism of the chlorine isotope is expounded according to the type of groundwater.The δ^(37)Cl value of karst water is generally positive,which is relevant to the dissolution of evaporite(gypsum mine),and may be caused by the mixing of groundwater and precipitation.The groundwater of Quaternary unconfined aquifer is mainly recharged by precipitation,and the δ^(37)Cl value of groundwater is generally negative.The δ^(37)Cl value of groundwater in Quaternary confined aquifer is more negative with increasing the depth to water level and elevated Cl^(−) concentration,which is possible to result from the isotope fractionation of ion filtration.The groundwater with inorganic pollutants in Quaternary unconfined aquifer has generally a positive δ^(37)Cl value.

AIM： To investigate common polymorphisms in VEGF, ACE, TNF and GST genes with retinopathy of prematurity（ROP） risk among Chinese infants. METHODS： Nine polymorphisms in the above genes were genotyped on 724 advanced cases of ROP and 878 prematurely-born infants of low birth weight who were without any ophthalmologic disease. The frequencies of the polymorphisms were compared between cases and controls to identify the association present, if any. RESULTS： Of the nine polymorphisms, only two showed significant associations： ACE insertion deletion（ID） polymorphism（P=0.031） and TNF-308 G/A polymorphism（P〈0.001）. The former was associated with a reduced ROP risk [ID genotype, adjusted OR（aOR）： 0.603, 95%CI： 0.427-0.893, P=0.034; DD genotype, aOR： 0.468, 95%CI： 0.229-0.626, P=0.002], while the latter showed an increased risk（GA genotype, aOR： 1.956, 95%CI： 1.396-2.465, P〈0.001; AA genotype, aOR： 2.809, 95%CI： 1.802-4.484, P〈0.001）. The association was also noted at the allele level（ACE D allele a OR： 0.698, 95%CI： 0.294-0.883, P〈0.001; TNF-308A allele a OR： 1.776, 95%CI： 1.446-2.561, P〈0.001）. CONCLUSION： The ACE ID polymorphism can protect against ROP development while the TNF-308G/A can increase the risk of the disease among Chinese infants.

With variation of drainage basin environments, desorption of soluble matter has become one of the significant erosion processes in rivers. It has a considerable impact on flow and sediment transport, as well as processes of river bed deformation and landform evolution throughout a watershed. In this study, considering influences on sediment movement, especially on cohesive sediment transport, Ca^2＋ and H^＋ were chosen as characteristic ions of soluble matter, and the total desorption quantity of Ca^2＋ and pH value when the desorption equilibrium is reached were employed as two indexes representing the desorption of soluble matter. By means of an indoor experiment, desorption of soluble matter as influenced by cations in static water was investigated. The results show that the total desorption quantity of soluble matter increases with the initial cation concentration until a maximum desorption quantity value is obtained and maintained. The total desorption quantity of soluble matter depends on properties of the specific cations in static water, and the stronger the affinity is between the cation and sediment surface, the higher the total desorption quantity will be. Finally, a strong approximate linear relationship between desorption quantities for different kinds of soluble matters was obtained, which means that variation of pH values can accurately reflect the desorption results of soluble matter.

High-quality film capacitors are widely used in many fields such as new energy vehicles,electronic communications,etc.,due to their advantages in wide frequency response and low dielectric loss.The dielectric film is a crucial part of the film capacitor,and its properties have an important impact on the performance and use conditions of the film capacitor.In this work,a novel high-temperature-resistant dielectric film was prepared.Firstly,the Bi_(2)S_(3)/rGO-CN fillers were prepared by hydrothermal method combined with cyanation treatment,and then added to the poly(arylene ether nitrile)(PEN)matrix to prepare the dielectric film materials(PEN/Bi_(2)S_(3)/rGO-CN).After high temperature treatment,the fillers Bi_(2)S_(3)/rGO-CN reacted with the PEN matrix,and the composites materials transformed into a thermosetting hybrid film(PEN-Bi_(2)S_(3)/rGO)with gel content of 97.88%.The prepared hybrid dielectric films did not decompose significantly before 400℃,and showed a glass transition temperature(Tg)of up to 252.4℃,which could increase the effective use temperature of the materials.Compared with the composite films without heat treatment,they exhibit better mechanical properties,with further improvement in tensile strength and elastic modulus,and a decrease in elongation at break.The dielectric constant of the hybrid films can be up to 6.8 while the dielectric loss is only about 0.02 at 1 kHz.Moreover,the hybrid films showed excellent dielectric stability during temperature changes,and remain relatively stable before 250℃,which is suitable as a high-temperature-resistant high-dielectric material and is more advantageous for practical applications.

Objective: To investigate the main components and potential mechanism of Shuxuening Injection(SXNI) in the treatment of myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury(MIRI) through network pharmacology and in vivo research. Methods: The Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology(TCMSP) and Pharm Mapper databases were used to extract and evaluate the effective components of Ginkgo biloba leaves, the main component of SXNI. The Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man(OMIM) and Gene Cards databases were searched for disease targets and obtain the drug target and disease target intersections. The active ingredient-target network was built using Cytoscape 3.9.1 software. The STRING database, Metascape online platform, and R language were used to obtain the key targets and signaling pathways of the anti-MIRI effects of SXNI. In order to verify the therapeutic effect of different concentrations of SXNI on MIRI in rats, 60 rats were first divided into 5 groups according to random number table method: the sham operation group, the model group, SXNI low-dose(3.68 mg/kg), medium-dose(7.35 mg/kg), and high-dose(14.7 mg/kg) groups, with 12 rats in each group. Then, another 60 rats were randomly divided into 5 groups: the sham operation group, the model group, SXNI group(14.7 mg/kg), SXNI+LY294002 group,and LY294002 group, with 12 rats in each group. The drug was then administered intraperitoneally at body weight for 14 days. The main biological processes were validated using in vivo testing. Evans blue/triphenyltetrazolium chloride(TTC) double staining, hematoxylin-eosin(HE) staining, terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase d UTP nick end labeling(TUNEL) assay, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA), and Western blot analysis were used to investigate the efficacy and mechanism of SXNI in MIRI rats. Results: Eleven core targets and 30 Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG) pathways were selected. We propose a novel machine learning approach to reconstruct meshless surface wind speed fields,i.e.,to reconstruct the surface wind speed at any location,based on meteorological background fields and geographical information.The random forest method is selected to develop the machine learning data reconstruction model(MLDRM-RF)for wind speeds over Beijing from 2015-19.We use temporal,geospatial attribute and meteorological background field features as inputs.The wind speed field can be reconstructed at any station in the region not used in the training process to cross-validate model performance.The evaluation considers the spatial distribution of and seasonal variations in the root mean squared error(RMSE)of the reconstructed wind speed field across Beijing.The average RMSE is 1.09 m s^(−1),considerably smaller than the result(1.29 m s^(−1))obtained with inverse distance weighting(IDW)interpolation.Finally,we extract the important feature permutations by the method of mean decrease in impurity(MDI)and discuss the reasonableness of the model prediction results.MLDRM-RF is a reasonable approach with excellent potential for the improved reconstruction of historical surface wind speed fields with arbitrary grid resolutions.Such a model is needed in many wind applications,such as wind energy and aviation safety assessments.

Activated carbon-supported mercuric chloride（HgCl2） is used as an industrial catalyst for acetylene hydrochlorination. However, the characteristic of easy sublimation of HgCl2 leads to the deactivation o the catalyst. Here, we showed that the thermal stability of the Hg/AC catalyst can be evidently improved when Cs Cl is added into the Hg/AC catalyst. Compared with the pure Hg/AC catalyst, the sublimation rate of HgCl2 from the Hg–Cs/AC catalyst decreased significantly and the Hg–Cs/AC catalyst showed bette catalytic activity and stability in the reaction. This promoting effect is related to the existence of cesium mercuric chlorides（CsxHgyCl（x＋2y）） highlighted by XRD, HR-TEM and EDX analyses. Thus, reacting HgCl2 with alkali chlorides to form alkali-mercuric chlorides may be a key to design highly efficient and thermally stable mercuric chloride catalyst for hydrochlorination reactions.

Liu-Wei-Di-Huang(LW) is a Yin nourishing and kidney tonifying prescription in traditional Chinese medicine with promising pharmacological characteristics that can be further exploited and developed in modern medicine. We provide a comprehensive and detailed literature report on the clinical and experimental pharmacology of LW,including its quality control parameters, phytochemistry, pharmacokinetics, and toxicology. Our literature review indicates that the LW prescription possesses a unique combination of pharmacological characteristics that can be safely used for treating very different diseases. Quality control and pharmacokinetic parameters of LW are mostly based on its major bioactive phytochemical constituents. We postulate that modulating or rebalancing the neuroendocrine immunomodulation network in the body is the underlying mechanism of the multiple pharmacological activities displayed by LW.

Zika virus(ZIKV)can infect a wide range of tissues including the developmental brain of human fetus.Whether specific viral genetic variants are linked to neuropathology is incompletely understood.To address this,we have intracranially serially passaged a clinical ZIKV isolate(SW01)in neonatal mice and discovered variants that exhibit markedly increased virulence and neurotropism.Deep sequencing analysis combining with molecular virology studies revealed that a single 67D(Aspartic acid)to N(Asparagine)substitution on E protein is sufficient to confer the increased virulence and neurotropism in vivo.Notably,virus clones with D67N mutation had higher viral production and caused more severe cytopathic effect(CPE)in human neural astrocytes U251 cells in vitro,indicating its potential neurological toxicity to human brain.These findings revealed that a single mutation D67N on ZIKV envelope may lead to severe neuro lesion that may help to explain the neurovirulence of ZIKV and suggest monitoring the occurrence of this mutation during nature infection may be important.
