Experimental and numerical investigation of the impacts of rotor tip-rake on excitation forces of pump-jet propulsors

The tip-clearance flow in a pump-jet propulsor exerts great impacts on the fluctuating pressures and resultant unsteady forces,which are important sources of structural vibrations and radiated noise underwater.The blade geometry close to the tip is an important factor determining the vortex strength in the tip-clearance flow.In the open-water condition,the effects of raking the rotor tips on the duct-surface fluctuating pressures and the resultant unsteady forces acting on different components of the propulsor are investigated via physical model experiments and the numerical solution of Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS)equations coupled with the SST k-ωturbulence model.The measured and simulated results of hydrodynamic pressures are consistent to each other,and the simulated flows help better understand why the fluctuating pressures change with the tip geometry.The strong fluctuations of duct-surface pressures are caused by intensive tip separation vortices.The duct-surface pressure fluctuations are effectively reduced by using the rake distribution near the tip towards blade back side and,for the combination of the five-bladed rotor and the seven-bladed stator,the resultant unsteady horizontal(and vertical)forces acting on the duct and stator are also reduced;while increasing rake leads to negative effect on pressure fluctuations and unsteady horizontal(and vertical)forces acting on all the components of the propulsor.

Research progress on the hydrodynamic performance of water-air-bubble mixed flows around a ship

The interaction between ship and surrounding fluids generates the water-air-bubble mixed flow laden with numerous droplets and bubbles.The water-air-bubble mixed flow is a complex multi-phase flow phenomenon,which involves intense air-water mixture,complex evolution of interface shape,interactions between multi-scale flow structures and strong turbulent fluctuations.Based on the field observations at sea,a large range of white water-air-bubble flow exists widely around a large-scale sailing ship,and directly affects the hydrodynamic performance of ship from various aspects.This paper reviews the research progress of water-air-bubble mixed flow around a ship.Current knowledge about the formation and evolution mechanism are introduced firstly.Then,the effects of the water-air-bubble mixed flow on ship performance are further reviewed,the main concerns are ship resistance,propulsion performance,slamming and maneuverability.Finally,the future research prospects are summarized.

Numerical study on the wave pattern characteristic of air layer in cavity and the effects of multiple influence factors

Air-layer drag reduction (ALDR) technology for ship energy saving is getting more and more attention in recent years because of the outstanding drag reduction effect. In order to promote practical application, it is necessary to fully understand the two phase flow characteristics of the air layer. Recent experimental studies have shown that the surface of the air layer presents wave pattern, which has an important influence on its damage risk. However, it is difficult to measure the wave pattern quantificationally due to the interference of equipment. The main goal of the present paper is to investigate the wave pattern characteristic of air layer in cavity using numerical simulation method. On this basis, the effect of flow and geometric influence factors are discussed to understand the key control conditions. A computational fluid dynamics (CFD) numerical method based on Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations and volume of fluid (VOF) interface capturing method is established, and has been successfully applied in the simulation of air layer wave pattern. Both 2-D and 3-D simulations are carried out, aiming at analyzing air-water interface flow and vortex flow directly. Based on the simulation results, several important conclusions about the mechanism of air layer wave pattern can be obtained. Firstly, it is found to be an inherent characteristic that the wave height of the upstream air layer is higher than that of the downstream. The extremely high wave peak is easy to contact with the flat plate, leading to the breakup of air layer and a “central blank area” phenomenon. With the help of flow analysis, it is found that this characteristic is mainly caused by the strong counterclockwise vortex behind the bow wedge block. Secondly, the air layer stability is reduced with the increase of water flow velocity by affecting the wave height. Secure Channel Free ID-Based Searchable Encryption for Peer-to-Peer Group

Data sharing and searching are important functionalities in cloud storage. In this paper, we show how to securely and flexibly search and share cloud data among a group of users without a group manager. We formalize a novel cryptosystem： secure channel free searchable encryption in a peer-to-peer group, which features with the secure cloud data sharing and searching for group members in an identity-based setting. Our scheme allows group members to join or leave the group dynamically. We present two schemes： basic scheme and enhanced scheme. We formally prove that our basic scheme achieves consistency and indistinguishability against the chosen keyword and ciphertext attack and the outsider＇s keyword guessing attack, respectively. An enhanced scheme is also proposed to achieve forward secrecy, which allows to revoke user search right over the former shared data.

Most hydrodynamic problems in ship and ocean engineering are complex and highly coupled.Under the trend of intelligent and digital design for ships and ocean engineering structures,comprehensive performance evaluation and optimization are of vital importance during design.In this process,various coupling effects need to be accurately predicted.With the significant progress of computational fluid dynamics(CFD),many advanced numerical models were proposed to simulate the complex coupling hydrodynamic problems in ship and ocean engineering field.In this paper,five key coupling hydrodynamic problems are introduced,which are hull-propeller-rudder coupling,wave-floating structure coupling,aerodynamic-hydrodynamic coupling,fluid structure coupling and fluid-noise coupling,respectively.The paper focuses on the numerical simulation techniques corresponding to each coupling problem,including the theories and the applications.Future directions and conclusions are provided finally.

Proactive worm propagation modeling and analysis in unstructured peer-to-peer networks

It is universally acknowledged by network security experts that proactive peer-to-peer (P2P) worms may soon en-gender serious threats to the Internet infrastructures. These latent threats stimulate activities of modeling and analysis of the proactive P2P worm propagation. Based on the classical two-factor model,in this paper,we propose a novel proactive worm propagation model in unstructured P2P networks (called the four-factor model) by considering four factors:(1) network topology,(2) countermeasures taken by Internet service providers (ISPs) and users,(3) configuration diversity of nodes in the P2P network,and (4) attack and defense strategies. Simulations and experiments show that proactive P2P worms can be slowed down by two ways:improvement of the configuration diversity of the P2P network and using powerful rules to reinforce the most connected nodes from being compromised. The four-factor model provides a better description and prediction of the proactive P2P worm propagation.

Visualization of MF/Diesel RCCI Combustion Process and Soot Emission

Based on the optical engine,the ignition characteristics,combustion process and soot emission characteristics of diesel under different 2-Methylfuran(MF) atmospheres were investigated by high-speed photography and in-cylinder combustion analysis technology.The results show that at the same main injection timing,the ignition time of reactivity controlled compression ignition(RCCI) combustion mode is earlier than pure diesel combustion,and the ignition point is concentrated near the nozzle.Diesel acts as a spark plug to ignite the mixture,but the flame develops slowly in the early stages and the pressure in the cylinder rises slowly.Compared with pure diesel,RCCI combustion model has smaller peak values of in-cylinder pressure and heat release rate,shorter ignition delay period,earlier combustion phase and shorter combustion duration.At main spray time at 6℃A BTDC and 12℃A BTDC,with the increase of MF premixing ratio from 0 to 0.75,the peak cylinder pressure decreased by 19.6% and 26% respectively.In addition,with the increase of the MF heat value ratio,the area of KL factor> 1.5 in the combustion chamber decreased and the space integral natural luminescence(SINL) peak value decreased by 48.37%,and the soot formation rate and yield decreased significantly.However,when the MF heat value ratio was too large(75% of the total calorific value),the ignition delay period increased,and misfire occurred at the main injection timing of 0℃A BTDC.The RCCI mode of MF/diesel dual fuel has better stability,and better control effect can be obtained at different main inj ection timing.

Eutrophication of Jiangsu Coastal Water and Its Role in the Formation of Green Tide

Since 2007,the large-scale green tide caused by Ulva prolifera(U.prolifera)have occurred as a recurrent phenomenon in the southern Yellow Sea of China.Field surveys and satellite remote sensing showed that the small scattered patches of green tide algae were first observed along the Porphyra agriculture area of the Subei Shoal in late April.In this study,we attempted to identify the role of eutrophication in the origin of the green tide in the Subei Shoal and its adjacent area.Subei Shoal and its adjacent area are characterized by rich nutrients,especially NO_(3)^(-)-N,NH_(4)^(+)-N,PO_(4)^(3-)-P,and other bioavailable components(such as urea-N and amino acids).In the spring of 2017,the average concentrations of NO_(3)^(-)-N were 19.01±11.01μmolL^(-1),accounting for 86.68%of the dis-solved inorganic nitrogen(DIN).In addition,the average concentration of NH4^(+)-N was 2.51±1.60μmolL^(-1).PO_(4)^(3-)-P had an average concentration of 0.14±0.13μmolL-1.The average concentrations of urea-N and total hydrolyzed amino acids(THAA)were 1.73±1.36μmolL^(-1)and 1.33±0.80μmolL^(-1),respectively.Rich nutritive substances play a key role in the rapid production of U.prolifera and make the Jiangsu coastal water an incubator for green tide.

Data augmentation method for insulators based on Cycle-GAN

Data augmentation is an important task of using existing data to expand data sets.Using generative countermeasure network technology to realize data augmentation has the advantages of high-quality generated samples,simple training,and fewer restrictions on the number of generated samples.However,in the field of transmission line insulator images,the freely synthesized samples are prone to produce fuzzy backgrounds and disordered samples of the main insulator features.To solve the above problems,this paper uses the cycle generative adversarial network(Cycle-GAN)used for domain conversion in the generation countermeasure network as the initial framework and uses the self-attention mechanism and channel attention mechanism to assist the conversion to realize the mutual conversion of different insulator samples.The attention module with prior knowledge is used to build the generation countermeasure network,and the generative adversarial network(GAN)model with local controllable generation is built to realize the directional generation of insulator belt defect samples.The experimental results show that the samples obtained by this method are improved in a number of quality indicators,and the quality effect of the samples obtained is excellent,which has a reference value for the data expansion of insulator images.

Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate oxidase in pancreatic diseases:Mechanisms and future perspectives

Pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer(PC)stand as the most worrisome ailments affecting the pancreas.Researchers have dedicated efforts to unraveling the mechanisms underlying these diseases,yet their true nature continues to elude their grasp.Within this realm,oxidative stress is often believed to play a causal and contributory role in the development of pancreatitis and PC.Excessive accumulation of reactive oxygen species(ROS)can cause oxidative stress,and the key enzyme responsible for inducing ROS production in cells is nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate hydrogen oxides(NOX).NOX contribute to pancreatic fibrosis and inflammation by generating ROS that injure acinar cells,activate pancreatic stellate cells,and mediate macrophage polarization.Excessive ROS production occurs during malignant transformation and pancreatic carcinogenesis,creating an oxidative microenvironment that can cause abnormal apoptosis,epithelial to mesenchymal transition and genomic instability.Therefore,understanding the role of NOX in pancreatic diseases contributes to a more in-depth exploration of the exact pathogenesis of these diseases.In this review,we aim to summarize the potential roles of NOX and its mechanism in pancreatic disorders,aiming to provide novel insights into understanding the mechanisms underlying these diseases.
