Improving Ocean Data Services with Semantics and Quick Index

Massive ocean data acquired by various observing platforms and sensors poses new challenges to data management and ***,it is difficult to find the desired data from the large amount of datasets efficiently and *** of existing methods for data discovery are based on the keyword retrieval or direct semantic reasoning,and they are either limited in data access rate or do not take the time cost into *** this paper,we creatively design and implement a novel system to alleviate the problem by introducing semantics with ontologies,which is referred to as Data Ontology and list-Based Publishing(DOLP).Specifically,we mainly improve the ocean data services in the following three ***,we propose a unified semantic model called OEDO(Ocean Environmental Data Ontology)to represent heterogeneous ocean data by metadata and to be published as data ***,we propose an optimized quick service query list(QSQL)data structure for storing the pre-inferred semantically related services,and reducing the service querying ***,we propose two algorithms for optimizing QSQL hierarchically and horizontally,respectively,which aim to extend the semantics relationships of the data service and improve the data access *** results prove that DOLP outperforms the benchmark ***,our QSQL-based data discovery methods obtain a higher recall rate than the keyword-based method,and are faster than the traditional semantic method based on direct ***,DOLP can handle more complex semantic relationships than the existing methods.

Design, Synthesis and Biological Activity of Substituted-N-[4-(substituted-phenylsulfamoyl)phenyl]benzamide as Potential AHAS Inhibitors

Based on the crystal structure of AHAS/sulfonylurea complex, we obtained 296 compounds with low binding energy towards AHAS via virtual screening. One series of them have been synthesized. Preliminary bioassay indicated that some compounds displayed good herbicidal activity on rape and bamygrass and inhibited AHAS to some extent. This study indicated the rationality of our molecular design based on the crystal structure of target enzyme.

Dorsal root entry zone coagulation for treatment of deafferentation pain syndromes

Background Deafferentation pain is a kind of chronic pain syndrome and hard to manipulate. To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of junctional dorsal root entry zone （DREZ） coagulation, 23 consecutive patients with intractable deafferentation pain syndrome were studied.Methods Twenty-three patients underwent junctional DREZ coagulation （C5-T1 for upper extremities and L2-S1 for lower extremities） under general anesthesia. The pain severity was evaluated by the short McGill pain questionnaire （MPQ） and the visual analog scale （VAS）, and the depression and anxiety of patients were assessed by Hamilton rating scale for depression （HRSD）, Hamilton anxiety scale （HAMA）, self-rating anxiety scale （SAS） and self-rating depression scale （SDS）.Results All the patients experienced significant pain reduction immediately after surgery. The scales of short MPQ and VAS at pre-operation, 6-month and 12-month follow-up were 31.5±3.4 and 8.8±1.5, 6.5±1.9 and 2.5±2.2, 7.1±2.1 and 2.9±1.9, respectively. The postoperative scores comparing to pre-operative scores showed a statistically significant difference （P 〈0.01）. The depression and anxiety state was also significantly relieved. At 12-month follow-up 6 patients had complete pain relief, 11 had excellent results with more than 75% pain relief, 17 had good results with more than 50% pain relief （73.9%）. The main postoperative complications were transient slight hemiplegia （8）, hypesthesia and paresthesia （15）, a bearing down feeling of affected extremity （6）, and deep sensory disability in the lower limbs （4） on the operated side. Because of the long time and prone position of the operation, 13 cases had a transient hyperalgesia in the upper chest. Conclusion DREZ coagulation is a safe and effective procedure in the treatment of deafferentation pain syndromes.

Above-threshold ionization of hydrogen atom in chirped laser fields

Above-threshold ionization （ATI） of a hydrogen atom exposed to chirped laser fields is investigated theoretically by solving the time-dependent Schrodinger equation. By comparing the energy spectra, the two-dimensional momentum spectra, and the angular distributions of photoelectron for the laser pulses with different chirp rates, we show a very clear chirp dependence both in the multiphoton and tunneling ionization processes but no chirp dependence in the single-photon ionization. We find that the chirp dependence in the multiphoton ionization based ATI can be attributed to the excited bound states. In the single-photon and tunneling ionization regimes, the electron can be removed directly from the ground state and thus the excited states may not be very important. It indicates that the chirp dependence in the tunneling ionization based ATI processes is mainly due to the laser pulses with different chirp rates,

The crystal structure of the title compound （C17H16N4O3S2, Mr = 388.46） has been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal belongs to monoclinic, space group P21/c with a = 13.688（2）, b = 16.704（3）, c = 8.3308（12）A, β = 99.474（6）°, V = 1878.8（5） A^3, Mr = 388.46, Z = 4, Dc = 1.373 g/cm3, μ = 0.308 mm^–1, F（000） = 808, R = 0.0389 and wR = 0.0917. X-ray analysis reveals that the crystal structure involves intermolecular N–H…O and N–H…N hydrogen bonds, which link the molecules into a layer parallel to the ac plane.

Topology awareness algorithm for virtual network mapping

Network virtualization is recognized as an effective way to overcome the ossification of the Internet. However, the virtual network mapping problem (VNMP) is a critical challenge, focusing on how to map the virtual networks to the substrate network with efficient utilization of infrastructure resources. The problem can be divided into two phases: node mapping phase and link mapping phase. In the node mapping phase, the existing algorithms usually map those virtual nodes with a complete greedy strategy, without considering the topology among these virtual nodes, resulting in too long substrate paths (with multiple hops). Addressing this problem, we propose a topology awareness mapping algorithm, which considers the topology among these virtual nodes. In the link mapping phase, the new algorithm adopts the k-shortest path algorithm. Simulation results show that the new algorithm greatly increases the long-term average revenue, the acceptance ratio, and the long-term revenue-to-cost ratio (R/C).

Synthesis of Iron Chlorophyllins and Their Catalytic Performance for Aerobic Oxidation of Cyclohexene

A series of iron（III） chlorophyllins was prepared from silkworm excrement crude chlorophyll extract as a raw material. Aerobic oxidation of cyclohexene by using the prepared iron（III） chlorophyllins as biomimetic catalysts was studied under atmospheric pressure in the absence of reducing agent and solvent. The results indicate that chloro- phyll iron porphyrins have better catalytic performance than the industrial-applied iron tetraphenylporphyrin and cobalt tetraphenylporphyrin, and possess a higher selectivity for 2-cyclohexen-1-one. The smaller the polarity of iron（III） chlorophyllin＇s ligand is, the easier the catalytic oxidation of cyclohexene will be. Esterification products of iron（III） chlo- rophyllins can catalyze the oxidation of cyclohexene better than non-esterified iron（III） chlorophyllins, and therefore show a higher conversion of cyclohexene and a higher selectivity for 2-cyclohexen-l-one than the non-esterified ones. Among the six synthesized iron（III） chlorophyllin catalysts, iron（III） methyl-pyropheophorbide-a is the best biomimetic catalyst for the highest conversion of cyclohexene. The influences of catalyst＇s substituent, polarity and ring structure on the catalytic performance were discussed. The catalytic performance of iron（III） chlorophyllins improves with decreasing polarity, increasing conjugated degree of porphyrin＇s ring or enhancing chlorophyllins＇ stability. Possible mechanism of cyclohexene aerobic oxidation catalyzed by iron（III） chlorophyllins was also discussed.

Evaluation of high-resolution satellite precipitation products with surface rain gauge observations from Laohahe Basin in northern China

Three high-resolution satellite precipitation products, the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission （TRMM） standard precipitation products 3B42V6 and 3B42RT and the Climate Precipitation Center＇s （CPC） morphing technique precipitation product （CMORPH）, were evaluated against surface rain gauge observations from the Laohahe Basin in northern China. Widely used statistical validation indices and categorical statistics were adopted. The evaluations were performed at multiple time scales, ranging from daily to yearly, for the years from 2003 to 2008. The results show that all three satellite precipitation products perform very well in detecting the occurrence of precipitation events, but there are some different biases in the amount of precipitation. 3B42V6, which has a bias of 21%, fits best with the surface rain gauge observations at both daily and monthly scales, while the biases of 3B42RT and CMORPH, with values of 81% and 67%, respectively, are much higher than a normal receivable threshold. The quality of the satellite precipitation products also shows monthly and yearly variation： 3B42RT has a large positive bias in the cold season from September to April, while CMORPH has a large positive bias in the warm season from May to August, and they all attained their best values in 2006 （with 10%, 50%, and -5% biases for 3B42V6, 3B42RT, and CMORPH, respectively）. Our evaluation shows that, for the Laohahe Basin, 3B42V6 has the best correspondence with the surface observations, and CMORPH performs much better than 3B42RT. The large errors of 3B42RT and CMORPH remind us of the need for new improvements to satellite precipitation retrieval algorithms or feasible bias adjusting methods.

Analysis of Essential Oils from Flower-buds, Leaves and Stems of Filipendula palmata(Pall.) Maxim.

The essential oils of the flower-buds, leaves and stems of Filipendula palmata（ Pall. ） Maxim. were analyzed by GC and GC-MS. Thirty-three, forty-seven and forty-seven compounds in the flower-buds, leaves and stems were identified, respectively. Methyl salicylate exists in a great amount which is up to 70. 10% in the flower-buds. Its amount is also high in other two parts. The data obtained show that it may be one of the main natural mosquito-expelling and pain-alleviating components in the three parts. The flower-buds are the main active part with the mosquito-expelling function.
