Testing of Seedborne Fungi in Wheat Germplasm Conserved in the National Crop Genebank of China

There is a primary understanding of the dominant fungi in wheat seeds conserved in the National Crop Genebank of China （NCGB） and an evaluation of the healthy status of wheat germplasm propagated in different regions. A total of 1 465 wheat accessions were detected for seedbone fungi by blotter, agar plate, and wash tests. By blotter test, 17 genera of fungi, including more than 30 species, were detected in 712 wheat accessions from Shaanxi, Hebei, and Qinghai provinces, China. Alternaria was the most frequently detected in wheat seeds from Shaanxi Province, followed by Rhizopus, Penicillium, Aspergillus, Bipolaris, Cladosporium, Gonatobotrys, Chaetomium, and others. Seedborne fungi in wheat seeds from Hebei Province, with relatively high incidence were Alternaria, Rhizopus, Penicillium, Aspergillus, Bipolaris, Cladosporium, and Fusarium. In the seeds from Qinghai Province, Alternaria, Rhizopus, Bipolaris, Cladosporium, and Trichothecium are important seed-borne fungi. The seed germination was reduced substantially when seeds were infected by Fusarium verticillioides （syn. F. moniliforme）, Bipolaris nodulosa, and Cladosporium herbarum. Eighteen genera and 25 species of fungi were identified in 353 accessions from Shaanxi Province using the agar plate test. The dominant fungi were Alternaria, Aspergillus, Bipolaris, Gonatobotrys, Penicillium, and Fusarium. The smut fungi, Ustilago tritici, was detected by the wash test in 400 accessions, but it was low in incidence in 300 seed samples from Shaanxi Province （1.3%）, and in 100 samples from Hebei Province （2.0%）. Totally 19 genera of fungi were detected in wheat seed samples, and some seedborne fungi were saprophytic and others were biotrophic which could cause seedborne diseases in the field.

Persistence and intergenerational transmission of differentially expressed genes in the testes of intracytoplasmic sperm injection conceived mice

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is commonly used to solve male infertility problems. Previous studies showed that early environmental exposure of an embryo may influence postnatal development. To detect whether ICSI operations affect the reproductive health of a male or his offspring, we established assisted reproductive technologies (ART) conceived mouse models, and analyzed gene expression profiles in the testes of both ICSI and naturally conceived (NC) newborn F1 mice using micro-array analysis. Among the differentially expressed genes, we focused on the expression of eight male reproduction-related genes. Quantitative real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) was used to analyze the expression of these genes in the testes of both adult and old F1 generation mice and adult F2 generation mice. Our results showed that down-regulated and somatic cell-expressed genes in newborn mice retained their differential expression patterns in adult and old F1 generation individuals, implying the persistence and fetal origin of the alteration in the expression of these genes. The intergenerational transmission of differential gene expression was observed, but most changes tended to be reduced in adult F2 generations. Controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) and in vitro fertilization (IVF) mice models were added to explore the precise factors contributing to the differences in ICSI offspring. The data demonstrated that superovulation, in vitro culture, and mechanical stimulation involved in ICSI had a cumulative effect on the differential expression of these male reproductive genes.

In recent years,translational plasma medicine(TPM),as a novel application area of plasmas,has attracted much attention of experts from both academic and clinical ***-of-the-art of the lab-scale research and clinical trials of the cold atmospheric plasmas(CAPs)in the stomatology are reviewed in detail from the direct and indirect applications of the *** on the discussions concerning the relationship between the plasma stomatology and the plasma medicine,it is indicated that it would be an important reference for promoting the TPM starting from the fundamental and application studies in the field of dentistry,which is also one of the most three promising application fields of plasma medicine.

Isocyanide-Based One-Pot Cascade Synthesis of 3-Acyl Isoindolinones

A series of 3-acyl-substituted isoindolinone derivatives were synthesized in a one-pot manner via the reaction of o-bromobenzaldehydes,isocyanides,and carboxylic acids in the presence of palladium catalyst and base. The reaction employing easily available starting materials features simple operation and high efficiency. The mechanistic study showed that the reaction might undergo 1) Pd-catalyzed [3+2] cyclization of o-bromobenzaldehyde with isocyanide and the re-insertion of another molecule of isocyanide,2) addition of carboxylic acid to in situ formed ketenimine followed by a rearrangement relay to give 3,3-diacyl-substituted isoindolinone derivative. Further transformations of the obtained products through decarbonylation could also be realized.

Efficient and precise photon-number-resolving detectors are essential for optical quantum information *** this,very few detectors have been able to distinguish photon numbers with both high fidelity and a large dynamic range,all while maintaining high speed and high timing *** nanostrip-based detectors excel at counting single photons efficiently and rapidly,but face challenges in balancing dynamic range and ***,we have pioneered the demonstration of 10 true photon-number resolution using a superconducting microstrip detector,with readout fidelity reaching an impressive 98%and 90%for 4-photon and 6-photon events,***,our proposed dual-channel timing setup drastically reduces the amount of data acquisition by 3 orders of magnitude,allowing for real-time photon-number *** then demonstrate the utility of our scheme by implementing a quantum random-number generator based on sampling the parity of a coherent state,which guarantees inherent unbiasedness,robustness against experimental imperfections and environmental noise,as well as invulnerability to *** solution boasts high fidelity,a large dynamic range,and real-time characterization for photon-number resolution and simplicity with respect to device structure,fabrication,and readout,which may provide a promising avenue towards optical quantum information science.

A Stable Copper-based Metal-Azolate Framework for Efficient Electroreduction of CO_(2)to C_(2+)Products

Driven by renewable or excess electrical energy,electrochemical CO_(2)reduction reaction(eCO_(2)RR)represents a promising carbon-neutral approach to generating valuable low-carbon fuels by consuming CO_(2)and H_(2)O.C_(2+)products are one of the most economically valuable products among the reduction species of eCO_(2)RR,but there are still some challenges,such as low selectivity or low current *** this work,we showed that a copper-based metal-azolate framework(MAF),denoted as MAF-203,exhibits the high performance of eCO_(2)RR to yield C_(2+)products with the Faradaic efficiency(C_(2+))of 52.5%and a current density of 660 mA/cm^(2)at-1.2 V *** in a flow cell device under alkaline *** experiment,in situ infrared spectroscopy and the density functional theory(DFT)calculations showed that the electron donating effect of methyl substituents on organic ligands of the copper-based MAF could enhance the ligand field and activation of key intermediates(*CO and*CHO species),thus promoting the coupling of*CO and*CHO for yielding C_(2+)products.

Influence of Fe addition on phase transformation behavior of Ni Ti shape memory alloy

Three different NiTi-based alloys,whose nominal compositions were Ni50Ti50,Ni49Ti49Fe2,Ni45Ti51.8Fe3.2(molefraction,%),respectively,were used in the current research to understand the influence of Fe addition on phase transformationbehavior in NiTi shape memory alloy(SMA).The microstructure and phase transformation behavior of the alloys were investigatedby optical microscopy(OM),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD)and differential scanningcalorimetry(DSC)*** results show that the matrix of the Ni50Ti50alloy consists of both B19′(martensite)phase and B2(austenite)***,the substructures of twins could be observed in the B19′***,the ternary alloys of NiTiFeexhibit B2phase in the *** microstructures were also characterized by large presence of Ti2Ni precipitatesdispersed homogenously in the matrix of the two kinds of *** addition of Fe to the NiTi SMA results in the decrease in phasetransformation temperatures in the ternary *** on mechanism analysis,it can be concluded that this phenomenon isprimarily attributed to atom relaxation of the distorted lattice induced by Ni-antisite defects and Fe substitutions during phasetransformation,which enables stabilization of B2phase during phase transformation.

The Denonvilliers’fascia(DVF)plays an important role in rectal surgery because of its anatomic position and its relationship to the surrounding *** affects the surgical plane anterior to the rectum in the procedure of total mesorectal excision(TME).Anatomical and embryological studies have helped us to understand this structure to some extent,but many controversies *** terms of its embryonical origin,there are three mainstream hypotheses:peritoneal fusion of the embryonic cul-de-sac,condensation of embryonic mesenchyme,and mechanical *** its architecture,the DVF may be a single,two,or multiple layers,or a composite single-layer *** women,most authors deem that this structure does exist but they are willing to call it the rectovaginal septum rather than the *** behind the DVF is supported by most *** article will review those mainstreamstudies and opinions on the DVF and combine them with what we have observed during surgery to discuss those controversies and consensuses mentioned *** hope this review may help young colorectal surgeons to have a better understanding of the DVF and provide a platform from which to guide future scientific research.
