Petrogenesis and tectonic implications of the Silurian adakitic granitoids in the eastern segment of the Qilian Orogenic Belt,Northwest China

Geodynamic mechanism responsible for the generation of Silurian granitoids and the tectonic evolution of the Qilian orogenic belt remains controversial. In this study, we report the results of zircon U–Pb age, and systematic whole-rock geochemical data for the Haoquangou and Liujiaxia granitoids within the North Qilian orogenic belt and the Qilian Block, respectively, to constrain their petrogenesis, and the Silurian tectonic evolution of the Qilian orogenic belt. Zircon U–Pb ages indicate that the Haoquangou and Liujiaxia intrusions were emplaced at423 ± 3 Ma and 432 ± 4 Ma, respectively. The Haoquangou granodiorites are calc-alkaline, while the Liujiaxia granites belong to the high-K calc-alkaline series.Both are peraluminous in composition and have relatively depleted Nd isotopic [ε_(Nd)(t) =(-3.9 – + 0.6)] characteristics compared with regional basement rocks, implying their derivation from a juvenile lower crust. They show adakitic geochemical characteristics and were generated by partial melting of thickened lower continental crust. Postcollisional extensional regime related to lithospheric delamination was the most likely geodynamic mechanism for the generation of the Haoquangou granodiorite, while the Liujiaxia granites were generated in a compressive setting during continental collision between the Qaidam and Qilian blocks.

To investigate the role of co-stimulatory and co-inhibitory molecules on immune tolerance in immune thrombocytopenia(ITP),this study mapped the immune cell heterogeneity in the bone marrow of ITP at the single-cell level using Cytometry by Time of Flight(Cy TOF).Thirty-six patients with ITP and nine healthy volunteers were enrolled in the study.As soluble immunomodulatory molecules,more s CD25 and s Galectin-9 were detected in ITP patients.On the cell surface,co-stimulatory molecules like ICOS and HVEM were observed to be upregulated in mainly central memory and effector T cells.In contrast,co-inhibitory molecules such as CTLA-4 were significantly reduced in Th1and Th17 cell subsets.Taking a platelet count of 30×109L-1as the cutoff value,ITP patients with high and low platelet counts showed different T cell immune profiles.Antigen-presenting cells such as monocytes and B cells may regulate the activation of T cells through CTLA-4/CD86 and HVEM/BTLA interactions,respectively,and participate in the pathogenesis of ITP.In conclusion,the proteomic and soluble molecular profiles brought insight into the interaction and modulation of immune cells in the bone marrow of ITP.They may offer novel targets to develop personalized immunotherapies.

Long-lived lunar volcanism sustained by precession-driven core-mantle friction

Core-mantle friction induced by the precession of the Moon's spin axis is a strong heat source in the deep lunar mantle during the early phase of a satellite's evolution, but its influence on the long-term thermal evolution still remains poorly explored. Using a one-dimensional thermal evolution model, we show that core-mantle friction can sustain global-scale partial melting in the upper lunar mantle until ～3.1 Ga, thus accounting for the intense volcanic activity on the Moon before ～3.0 Ga. Besides, core-mantle friction tends to suppress the secular cooling of the lunar core and is unlikely to be an energy source for the long-lived lunar core dynamo. Our model also favours the transition of the Cassini state before the end of the lunar magma ocean phase(～4.2 Ga), which implies a decreasing lunar obliquity over time after the solidification of the lunar magma ocean. Such a trend of lunar obliquity evolution may allow volcanically released water to be buried in the lunar regolith of the polar regions. As a consequence, local water ice could be more abundant than previously thought when considering only its accumulation caused by solar wind and comet spreading.

Joint Sample Position Based Noise Filtering and Mean Shift Clustering for Imbalanced Classification Learning

The problem of imbalanced data classification learning has received much attention.Conventional classification algorithms are susceptible to data skew to favor majority samples and ignore minority samples.Majority weighted minority oversampling technique(MWMOTE)is an effective approach to solve this problem,however,it may suffer from the shortcomings of inadequate noise filtering and synthesizing the same samples as the original minority data.To this end,we propose an improved MWMOTE method named joint sample position based noise filtering and mean shift clustering(SPMSC)to solve these problems.Firstly,in order to effectively eliminate the effect of noisy samples,SPMsC uses a new noise filtering mechanism to determine whether a minority sample is noisy or not based on its position and distribution relative to the majority sample.Note that MWMOTE may generate duplicate samples,we then employ the mean shift algorithm to cluster minority samples to reduce synthetic replicate samples.Finally,data cleaning is performed on the processed data to further eliminate class overlap.Experiments on extensive benchmark datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of SPMsC compared with other sampling methods.

Feature Matching via Topology-Aware Graph Interaction Model

Feature matching plays a key role in computer vision. However, due to the limitations of the descriptors, the putative matches are inevitably contaminated by massive outliers.This paper attempts to tackle the outlier filtering problem from two aspects. First, a robust and efficient graph interaction model,is proposed, with the assumption that matches are correlated with each other rather than independently distributed. To this end, we construct a graph based on the local relationships of matches and formulate the outlier filtering task as a binary labeling energy minimization problem, where the pairwise term encodes the interaction between matches. We further show that this formulation can be solved globally by graph cut algorithm. Our new formulation always improves the performance of previous localitybased method without noticeable deterioration in processing time,adding a few milliseconds. Second, to construct a better graph structure, a robust and geometrically meaningful topology-aware relationship is developed to capture the topology relationship between matches. The two components in sum lead to topology interaction matching(TIM), an effective and efficient method for outlier filtering. Extensive experiments on several large and diverse datasets for multiple vision tasks including general feature matching, as well as relative pose estimation, homography and fundamental matrix estimation, loop-closure detection, and multi-modal image matching, demonstrate that our TIM is more competitive than current state-of-the-art methods, in terms of generality, efficiency, and effectiveness. Objective:Premature rupture of membranes(PROM)is a common pregnancy disorder that is closely associated with structural weakening of fetal membranes.Studies have found that formyl peptide receptor 1(FPR1)activates inflammatory pathways and amniotic epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT),stimulates collagen degradation,and leads to membrane weakening and membrane rupture.The purpose of this study was to investigate the anti-inflammatory and EMT inhibitory effects of FPR1 antagonist(BOC-MLF)to provide a basis for clinical prevention of PROM.Methods:The relationship between PROM,FPR1,and EMT was analyzed in human fetal membrane tissue and plasma samples using Western blotting,PCR,Masson staining,and ELISA assays.Lipopolysaccharide(LPS)was used to establish a fetal membrane inflammation model in pregnant rats,and BOC-MLF was used to treat the LPS rat model.We detected interleukin(IL)-6 in blood from the rat hearts to determine whether the inflammatory model was successful and whether the anti-inflammatory treatment was effective.We used electron microscopy to analyze the structure and collagen expression of rat fetal membrane.Results:Western blotting,PCR and Masson staining indicated that the expression of FPR1 was significantly increased,the expression of collagen was decreased,and EMT appeared in PROM.The rat model indicated that LPS caused the collapse of fetal membrane epithelial cells,increased intercellular gaps,and decreased collagen.BOC-MLF promoted an increase in fetal membrane collagen,inhibited EMT,and reduced the weakening of fetal membranes.Conclusion:The expression of FPR1 in the fetal membrane of PROM was significantly increased,and EMT of the amniotic membrane was obvious.BOC-MLF can treat inflammation and inhibit amniotic EMT.

The inculcation of bioinspiration in sensing and human–machine interface(HMI)technologies can lead to distinctive characteristics such as conformability,low power consumption,high sensitivity,and unique properties like self-healing,self-cleaning,and adaptability.Both sensing and HMI are fields rife with opportunities for the application of bioinspired nanomaterials,particularly when it comes to wearable sensory systems where biocompatibility is an additional requirement.This review discusses recent development in bioinspired nanomaterials for wearable sensing and HMIs,with a specific focus on state-of-the-art bioinspired capacitive sensors,piezoresistive sensors,piezoelectric sensors,triboelectric sensors,magnetoelastic sensors,and electrochemical sensors.We also present a comprehensive overview of the challenges that have hindered the scientific advancement in academia and commercialization in the industry.

Intestinal tuberculosis with small bowel stricture and hemorrhage as the predominant manifestation: Three case reports

BACKGROUND Intestinal tuberculosis is a chronic disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis that mainly affects the ileum and cecum.Small bowel tuberculosis,characterized by predominant involvement of the small intestine,is an extremely rare condition with highly atypical clinical presentations,making diagnosis even more challenging.CASE SUMMARY We report three cases of small intestinal tuberculosis,two of the patients pre-sented primarily with abdominal pain,and one presented with gastrointestinal bleeding.All patients underwent blood tests and imaging examinations.Small bowel endoscopy(SBE)revealed that the main lesions in these patients were in-testinal stenosis or gastrointestinal bleeding caused by small intestinal ulcers.One patient ultimately underwent surgical treatment.Following a complex diagnostic process and comprehensive analysis,all patients were confirmed to have small intestinal tuberculosis and received standard antituberculosis treatment,leading to an improvement in their condition.CONCLUSION Patients with SBTs present with nonspecific symptoms such as abdominal pain,weight loss,and occasional gastrointestinal bleeding.Accurate diagnosis requires a thorough evaluation of clinical symptoms and various tests to avoid misdiagno-sis and complications.

Role of biochar in raising blue carbon stock capacity of salt marshes

Salt marshes are an important blue carbon ecosystem, with surprisingly fast carbon accumulation rates that are 40 times higher than those of terrestrial forests. In recent decades, salt marshes have suffered great degradation and loss all over the world. The idea to enhance carbon stock in salt marshes(so-called blue carbon) using biochar (so-called black carbon) has recently been proposed. Although experiments and observations remain limited, significant enhancements in soil organic carbon and plant growth have been documented in most case studies. However, due to the limited number of observations and their relatively short time window ranging from months to less than one year, there still exists a knowledge gap regarding the process, mechanism, and effect of biochar in enhancing carbon stock in salt marshes. Future research is urgently needed in the following perspectives:1) exploring the relationship between carbon stock enhancement efficiency and biochar properties, 2) optimizing the physical and chemical properties of biochar to boost its efficiency, and 3)studying the in-situ responses of complex carbon pools to biochar addition, especially under tidal conditions and over a longer period of time.

The Multi-sensitivity and Topological Sequence Entropy of Dynamical System with Group Action

In this paper,we study the relationship between the multi-sensitivity and the topological maximal sequence entropy of dynamical systems for general group action.Furthermore,we also discuss the consistency of multi-sensitivity of a dynamical system(G■X)and its hyperspace dynamical system G■K(X).Moreover,we research the relationship between the multi-sensitivity of two dynamical systems and the multi-sensitivity of their product space dynamical system.Finally,we prove that if the topological sequence entropy of G■X vanishes,then so does that of its induced system G■M(X);if the topological sequence entropy of G■X is positive,then that of its induced system G■M(X)is infinity.
