Methyl-CpG-binding protein 2 (MeCP2) is broadly recognized as the genetic cause of Rett Syndrome (RTT),a devastating neurodevelopmental disorder with the progressive loss in motor skills and speech that is found almost exclusively in young girls [1,2].Over 95%of RTT patients carry loss-of-function mutations in the X-linked MECP2gene,while the same mutations in males largely lead to infantile death.

Adult male mice emit highly complex ultrasonic vocalizations(USVs)in response to female *** US Vs,thought to facilitate courtship behaviors,are routinely measured as a behavioral index in mouse models of neurodevelopmental and psychiatric disorders such as *** the regulation of US Vs by genetic factors has been extensively characterized,the neural mechanisms that control USV production remain largely ***,we report that optogenetic activation of the medial preoptic area(mPOA)elicited the production of USVs that were acoustically similar to courtship US Vs in adult ***,mPOA vesicular GABA transporter-positive(Vgat +)neurons were more effective at driving USV production than vesicular glutamate transporter 2-positive ***,ablation of mPOA Vgat+ neurons resulted in altered spectral features and syllable usage of USVs in targeted ***,these results demonstrate that the mPOA plays a crucial role in modulating courtship USVs and this may serve as an entry point for future dissection of the neural circuitry underlying USV production.

Enhanced photocatalytic properties of N–P co-doped TiO_2 nanosheets with {001} facets

Nitrogen （N） and phosphorus （P） co-doped anatase TiO2 nanosheets were realized by low-temperature self-doping N-TiO2 followed by high-temperature P doping with foreign precursor. It is found that P doping process can maintain good TiO2 nanosheets morphology with exposed {001} facets. Chemical state of dopants indicates that N and P atoms replace O on O sites in TiO2 lattice. Compared with pure TiO2 and N-doped TiO2, N-P codoped TiO2 nanosheets exhibits stronger optical absorption and higher degradation rate of dye molecules in visible light regime. The enhanced photocatalytic properties are attributed to two factors. On one hand, N-P co-doping can effectively reduce band gap of TiO2 from 3.20 to 2.48 eV, leading to an enhancement of the absorption in visible light regime. On the other hand, the presence of exposed {001} facets of TiO2 nanosheets can induce the effective sepa- ration of photogenerated electrons and holes in reaction.

Antimony selenide（Sb2Se3） is a promising photovoltaic thin-film absorber material that has been widely studied in recent *** Sb2Se3thin-film solar cells,cadmium sulfide（CdS） is generally used for the fabrication of electron collection layers because of its high electron affinity,electronic mobility,and environmental *** study demonstrates the effects of ultraviolet ozone（UVO） treatment of chemical-bath-deposited CdS thin films on film crystallinity,surface morphology,and photoelectric *** find that UVO treatment not only enhances the crystallinity,transmittance,and conductivity of the CdS film,but it also decreases residual organic impurities on the CdS surface significantly,substantially improving the overall device *** efficiency of the superstrate CdS/Sb2Se3heterojunction solar cell reaches to 4.66%.This UVO treatment is a facile,low-cost,and fast process,which can be performed at room *** study demonstrates a good method for optimizing the performance of CdS/Sb2Se3solar cells and is expected to find wide applications in the future.

The development of non-noble-metal hydrogen evolution electrocatalysts holds great promises for a sustainable energy ***,a hybrid W(Mo)S_(2)/NW(Mo)C nanosheet with array structures was reported for an efficient light-as sis ted hydrogen evolution electrocatalysts in acidic *** resulting vertically aligned W(Mo)S_(2)/N-W(Mo)C was supported on a conductive carbon fiber paper,which can be produced through annealing W(Mo)S_(2)nanosheets by simultaneous carbonization and N-doping in Ar/H_(2)*** optimized WS_(2)/NWC and MoS_(2)/N-MoC electrode exhibits remarkable lightassisted electrocatalysis activity with overpotentials of0.120 and 0.122 V at 10 mA·cm^(-1)in acidic solutions,*** high hydrogen evolution activities should be attributed to the electrocatalytic synergistic effects of the abundant active sites existing in different phase boundaries and the absorption for ultraviolet-visible *** study shows that synthesis of low-cost and highly active W(Mo)S_(2)-based hydrogen evolution electrocatalyst opens up a route toward the development of scalable production of hydrogen fuels.

A novel phenomenon of spontaneous positive exchange bias(PEB)is reported in SrFeO_(3-x)/SrCoO_(3-x) epitaxial bilayer without undergoing any magnetic field *** inserting a thick SrTiO3(STO)nonmagnetic spacer(about 6 nm)into the bilayer interface,this phenomenon still *** on a series of testing means,the spontaneous PEB effect is supposed to be mainly related to short-range ferromagnetic(FM)exchange coupling at the interface when there is no STO *** the STO interlayer reaches up to a certain thickness,shortrange coupling interaction basically *** this time,the long-range dipole field may be responsible for the coupling of the FM and antiferromagnetic(AFM)layer across the nonmagnetic STO and then leads to the same bias *** discoveries provide a new way to realize and manipulate spontaneous exchange bias-based spintronics devices,such as magnetic recording heads and spin valves.
