Kinetic study and DFT calculation on the tetracycline abatement by peracetic acid

Water contamination by tetracycline(TC)has emerged as an environmental concern owing to its widespread use and antibiotic *** of peracetic acid(PAA)in the water and wastewater treatment has recently been proposed and demonstrated to be effective for TC abatement,yet the underlying reaction kinetics between the PAA and TC are not yet *** explore the reaction kinetics,the effect of solution pH on TC abatement by PAA is studied and the species-specific rate constants are *** ability to donate and accept electrons for different species of TC and PAA is evaluated via density functional theory(DFT)*** pH-dependent apparent second-order rate constants of TC abatement by PAA exhibits the parabolic shape with the maximum at p H 8.5(9.75 L mol^(-1)s^(-1)).This phenomenon is closely related to the speciation of TC and PAA,in which the reaction between PAAH and TTC^(2-)possesses the highest species-specific rate constants according to the kinetic *** DFT calculations suggest that the HOMO of TTCH^(+),TTC,TTC^(-),TTC^(2-)and the LUMO of PAAH and PAA-are–6.40,–6.26,–5.10,–4.94 e V and–0.24,0.60 e V,*** to the DFT calculations,deprotonation of TC and PAA leads to an increase of the HOMO value of TC and the LUMO value of ***,the HOMOTC–LUMOPAAvalues is in good agreement with the trend of species-specific rate constants,which can be used to evaluate the reactivity between PAA and TC with different *** study provides the kinetic data and theoretical basis for the reaction of PAA and TC,which is critical for the application of PAA in the treatment of water and wastewater.

A Secure Communicating While Jamming Approach for End-to-End Multi-Hop Wireless Communication Network

With the rapid development of wireless communications,cellular communication and distributed wireless network are fragile to eavesdropping due to distributed users and transparent ***,to adopt bigger transmit power at a given area to interfere potential eavesdroppers not only incurs huge energy waste but also may suppresses regular communication in this *** this end,we focus on secure communication in multi-hop wireless communication network,and propose two communicating while jamming schemes for secure communication in presence of potential eavesdroppers for the narrow band and broad band point-to-point(P2P) systems respectively with the aid of artificial noise transmitted by a chosen cooperative ***,to achieve the end-to-end(E2E) multi-hop secure communication,we devise the secure network topology discovering *** constructing a proper network topology with at least one proper node as the cooperative interferer in each hop,and then propose the secure transmission path planning scheme to find an E2E secure transmission route from source to destination,*** on the wireless open-access research platform demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed ***,simulations results validate that the proposed schemes can achieve better performance compared with existing methods in both the P2P communication case and E2E multi-hop communication network scenario.

Fibroblast-derived CXCL12/SDF-1α promotes CXCL6 secretion and co-operatively enhances metastatic potential through the PI3K/Akt/m TOR pathway in colon cancer

AIM To investigate the underlying mechanism by which CXCL12 and CXCL6 influences the metastatic potential of colon cancer and internal relation of colon cancer and stromal cells. METHODS Western blotting was used to detect the expression of CXCL12 and CXCL6 in colon cancer cells and stromal cells. The co-operative effects of CXCL12 and CXCL6 on proliferation and invasion of colon cancer cells and human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs) were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay,and proliferation and invasion assays. The angiogenesis of HUVECs through interaction with cancer cells and stromal cells was examined by angiogenesis assay. We eventually investigated activation of PI3K/Akt/m TOR signaling by CXCL12 involved in the metastatic process of colon *** CXCL12 was expressed in DLD-1 cancer cells and fibroblasts. The secretion level of CXCL6 by colon cancer cells and HUVECs were significantly promoted by fibroblasts derived from CXCL12. CXCL6 and CXCL2 could significantly enhance HUVEC proliferation and migration(P < 0.01). CXCL6 and CXCL2 enhanced angiogenesis by HUVECs when cultured with fibroblast cells and colon cancer cells(P < 0.01). CXCL12 also enhanced the invasion of colon cancer cells. Stromal cell-derived CXCL12 promoted the secretion level of CXCL6 and co-operatively promoted metastasis of colon carcinoma through activation of the PI3K/Akt/m TOR *** Fibroblast-derived CXCL12 enhanced the CXCL6 secretion of colon cancer cells,and both CXCL12 and CXCL6 co-operatively regulated the metastasis via the PI3K/Akt/m TOR signaling pathway. Blocking this pathway may be a potential anti-metastatic therapeutic target for patients with colon cancer.

Metal-organic framework(MOF)and covalent organic framework(COF)are a huge group of advanced porous materials exhibiting attractive and tunable microstructural features,such as large surface area,tunable pore size,and functional surfaces,which have significant values in various application *** emerging 3D printing technology further provides MOF and COFs(M/COFs)with higher designability of their macrostructure and demonstrates large achievements in their performance by shaping them into advanced 3D ***,the currently available 3D printing M/COFs strategy faces a major challenge of severe destruction of M/COFs’microstructural features,both during and after 3D *** is envisioned that preserving the microstructure of M/COFs in the 3D-printed monolith will bring a great improvement to the related *** this overview,the 3D-printed M/COFs are categorized into M/COF-mixed monoliths and M/COF-covered *** differences in the properties,applications,and current research states are *** up-to-date advancements in paste/scaffold composition and printing/covering methods to preserve the superior M/COF microstructure during 3D printing are further discussed for the two types of 3D-printed M/*** the analysis of the current states of 3D-printed M/COFs,the expected future research direction to achieve a highly preserved microstructure in the 3D monolith is proposed.

On the Factors Influencing the High Stretch-Flangeability of a Low-Density 1180 MPa Fe-Mn-Al-C-Nbδ-QP Steel

Low-densityδ-quenching and partitioning(δ-QP)steels with excellent strength and ductility have been recently ***,there are still rare reports on the formability of δ-QP steels,which are critical for satisfying the manufacture of structural parts during the application in automotive *** the present work,an 1180 MPa Fe–Mn–Al–C–Nbδ-QP steel with a high ductility was adopted for the stretch–flangeability ***δ-QP steel was developed by separated quenching and partitioning processes.A good hole expansion ratio(HER)of 34.9±0.9%was obtained in the quenched steel,but it has been further increased to 52.2%by the tempering *** improved stretch–flangeability was attributed to the enhanced austenite stability and deformation *** the one hand,the stability of austenite was increased by carbon partitioning during tempering,which reduced crack possibility via the suppression of the fresh martensite *** the other hand,the tempering treatment released the internal stress caused by martensitic transformation and reduced the difference in strength among different phases,resulting in an increase in the resistance to crack initiation and propagation.

Dietary curcumin alleviates intestinal damage induced by ochratoxin A in juvenile grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella): Necroptosis and inflammatory responses

Ochratoxin A (OTA) is one of the most common pollutants in aquatic feed. As a first line of defense, intestinal barriers could be utilized against OTA in order to prevent disorders. Natural product supplementation is one of the most popular strategies to alleviate toxicity induced by mycotoxins, but there is a lack of knowledge about how it functions in the teleost intestine. In this study, 720 juvenile grass carp of about 11 g were selected and four treatment groups (control group, OTA group, curcumin [Cur] group, and OTA + Cur group) were set up to conduct a 60-day growth test. After the test, the growth performance and intestinal health related indexes of grass carp were investigated. The addition of dietary Cur could have the following main results: (1) inhibit absorption and promote efflux transporters mRNA expression, reducing the residuals of OTA, (2) decrease oxidative stress by reducing oxidative damage and enhancing the expression of antioxidant enzymes, (3) promote mitochondrial fusion proteins to inhibit the expression of mitotic proteins and mitochondrial autophagy proteins and enhance mitochondrial function, (4) reduce necroptosis-related gene expression through inhibiting the tumor necrotic factor receptor-interacting protein kinase/mixed lineage kinase domain-like pathway, (5) reduce the expression of pro-inflammatory factors by inhibiting the Toll-like receptor 4/nuclear factor-kappa B signaling pathway to alleviate the intestinal inflammatory response. In summary, the results suggested that Cur could alleviate OTA-induced intestinal damage by enhancing antioxidant capacity and mitochondrial function as well as reducing necroptosis and inflammation in the grass carp intestine. This study provided a theoretical basis and production implications for dietary Cur that could improve growth performance and alleviate the intestinal damage induced by OTA in fish. Growth and activation of PI-3K/PKB and Akt by stromal cell-derived factor 1a in endometrial carcinoma cells with expression of suppressor endoprotein PTEN

Background Mutation or deletion in the phosphatase and tensin homologue deleted on chromosome ten （PTEN） gene has been identified as an important cause of endometrial carcinoma; stromal cell derived factor-1α （SDF-1α） exerts growth-promoting effects on endometrial cancer cells through activation of the PI-3 kinase/Akt pathway and downstream effectors such as extracellular-responsive kinase （ERK）. In this study, a plasmid containing the PTEN gene was transfected into Ishikawa cells to investigate the difference in growth and signal transduction between Ishikawa-PTEN and Ishikawa cells after SDF-1α stimulation, and to study mechanisms of the involvement of PTEN protein in endometrial carcinoma development. Methods Ishikawa cells were transfected with a plasmid （pLXSN-PTEN） containing the PTEN gene and a plasmid （pLXSN-EGFP） with enhanced green fluorescent protein （EGFP）. Cells were then screened to obtain Ishikawa-PTEN cells and Ishikawa-neo cells that can both stably express PTEN protein and EGFP. Expression of PTEN protein, phosphorylation levels of AKT and ERK （pAKT and pERK） and growth differences in Ishikawa-PTEN, Ishikawa-neo and Ishikawa cells before and after SDF-1α stimulation were then determined by Western blots and MTT assays. Results Western blot analysis showed that Ishikawa cells produced PTEN after transfection with the PTEN gene. At 15 minutes after SDF-1α stimulation, the pAKT level of Ishikawa-PTEN cells was lower than that of Ishikawa-neo cells and Ishikawa cells. There was no significant difference in pERK levels among the three cell lines. The positive effect of SDF-1α on Ishikawa-PTEN cells growth was markedly less than the effect on Ishikawa-neo and Ishikawa cells. However, in the absence of SDF-1α stimulation （baseline）, the pAKT level in Ishikawa-PTEN cells was less than that in Ishikawa cells. In recent years,there has been a growing focus on high-reliability products in industrial and military *** plays a crucial role in these products,and as a result,research on storage reliability has gained more *** paper specifically targets a class of products with complex structures that require long-term storage,regular testing,and ***,an expression method for system availability is provided based on the reliability structure of the system and the maintenance situation of the constituent equipment in *** the expression of system availability is typically complex and difficult to compute,and the storage life of the system cannot be represented as an explicit function of the reliability indicators of the constituent equipment,it is challenging to evaluate the availability and storage life of repairable *** address this,the paper proposes a comprehensive evaluation methodology for assessing the storage reliability of complex repairable systems based on fiducial *** approach is employed to derive point estimates and determine the lower fiducial limits for both system availability and storage ***,simulation results demonstrate that this comprehensive evaluation method for storage reliability of complex repairable systems is not only convenient but also highly effective.
