Study on the occurrence and influencing factors of gastrointestinal symptoms in hemodialysis patients with uremia

BACKGROUND Gastrointestinal symptoms are common in patients with uremia undergoing hemodialysis,and these symptoms seriously affect patients'*** To assess the occurrence and factors influencing gastrointestinal symptoms in patients with uremia undergoing *** We retrospectively selected 98 patients with uremia who underwent regular hemo-dialysis treatment in the blood purification center of our hospital from December 2022 to December *** gastrointestinal symptoms and scores of each dimension were evaluated using the Gastrointestinal Symptom Grading Scale(GSRS).Patients were divided into gastrointestinal symptoms and no gastrointestinal symptom groups according to whether they had gastrointestinal *** factors that may affect gastrointestinal symptoms were identified by single-factor *** logistic regression analysis was performed to identify independent risk factors for gastrointestinal *** Gastrointestinal symptoms included indigestion,constipation,reflux,diarrhea,abdominal pain,and eating disorders,and the total average GSRS score was 1.35±*** study showed that age,number of tablets,dialysis time,glucocorticoid,parathyroid hormone(PTH),combined diabetes mellitus and C-reactive protein(CRP)were independent risk factors for gastrointestinal symptoms in patients with uremia undergoing hemodialysis,whereas body mass index(BMI),hemoglobin(Hb),and urea clearance index were independent protective factors(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Gastrointestinal symptoms are mostly mild in patients with uremia undergoing hemodialysis,most commonly including dyspepsia,eating disorders,and gastroesophageal *** independent influencing factors mainly include the BMI,age,number of pills taken,dialysis time,urea clearance index,Hb,use of glucocorticoids,and thyroid hormone ***,CRP,and diabetes are clinically related factors influencing the occurrence of gastrointestinal symptoms,and targeted prevention can be perform

Association between 5-hydroxytryptamine transporter gene-linked polymorphic region and smoking behavior in Chinese males

Background Tobacco use is the major risk factor for numerous health problems. However, only 5% of smokers can successfully quit without therapy owing to the highly addictive properties of nicotine. The serotoninergic system may be involved in smoking behavior because nicotine increases brain serotonin secretion, nicotine withdrawal decreases serotonin levels, and a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor antagonizes the response to nicotine withdrawal. Serotonin transporter （5-HTT） is the most important protein, as it adjusts the serotonin concentration in the synaptic cleft. There is a polymorphism in the upstream regulatory region of the 5-HTT gene, named 5-hydroxytryptamine transporter gene-linked polymorphic region （5-HTTLPR）. Compared with the L allele, the S allele of the polymorphism is associated with decreased transcription efficiency of the 5-HTT gene. In this study, we investigated the relationship between this gene polymorphism and smoking behavior in Chinese males. Methods Polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism （PCR-RFLP） was performed to find 5-HTTLPR gene polymorphisms in 144 smokers and 135 age-matched healthy non-smokers. A questionnaire was completed in all recruited subjects. Results The proportion of L/L （15.3% vs 5.2%） and S/L （50.0% vs 33.3%） genotypes was significantly higher in the smokers than that in the non-smokers （X^2=21.9; P 〈0.01）. The odds ratio （OR） adjusted by age, education, effects of family members and friends who smoke, and alcohol intake was 2.9 （95%CI 1.78-4.80）. In smokers, the number of cigarettes/day （L/L vs S/L vs S/S： 28±12 vs 20±8 vs 16±6, X^2=18.5, P 〈0.01）, smoking index （L/L vs S/L vs S/S： 561±446 vs 393±341 vs 237±201, X^2=12.5, P 〈0.01） and score on the Fagerstrom test for nicotine dependence （FTND）（L/L vs S/L vs S/S： 7.8±1.6 vs 6.2±2.5 vs 3.5±2.1, X2=48.3, P 〈0.01） were significantly higher in smokers with an L/L or S/L genotype than that in the smokers with the S/S genotype. Two different autorefractors for vision screening in children and adolescents

AIM:To compare the consistency of two autorefractors(Tianle RM-9000 and Topcon KR-800)for school-age myopia children,and to provide a basis for largescale data analysis and ***:The refractive error in 909 subjects(age 4–18y)were measured using both autorefractors without *** data were analyzed using Fourier decomposition and the correlation coefficients,intraclass correlation coefficients(ICC),and Bland-Altman limits of agreement(LoA)for each parameter were ***:There was a strong correlation between the spherical equivalent(SE),sphere diopter(DS),and cylinder diopter(DC)readings of the Tianle RM-9000 and those of the Topcon KR-800,with correlation coefficient values of 0.98,0.98 and 0.83 and ICC values of 0.99,0.99 and 0.93,***,the correlation coefficients and ICC values of J0 and J45 were unreliable(R=-0.004,-0.034;both ICC<0.10).Bland-Altman analysis revealed that SE,DS,and DC measured by the Tianle RM-9000 were significantly biased toward myopia compared with the Topcon KR-800,and the mean differences were-0.072,-0.026,-0.091 D,respectively(all P<0.01).The minimum absolute value of the difference within the 95%LoA for SE,DS,and DC was 0.63 D,0.50 D,0.62 D,respectively;all these values were in the clinically acceptable *** J0 and J45,the mean differences were close to zero(P=0.43,0.84);however,the 95%LoA were relatively wide(J0 SD:0.53;95%CI:-1.00,1.10;J45 SD:0.52;95%CI:-1.00,1.00).CONCLUSION:The two autorefractors are consistent with each other,as the differences in SE,DS,and DC were within the clinically acceptable *** can compare the data measured by either device in different studies and use the two devices in the same study to generate a dataset that can be analyzed ***,the J0 and J45 vectors are unreliable and should not be used to assess astigmatism.

Optical neural networks have significant advantages in terms of power consumption,parallelism,and high computing speed,which has intrigued extensive attention in both academic and engineering *** has been considered as one of the powerful tools in promoting the fields of imaging processing and object ***,the existing optical system architecture cannot be reconstructed to the realization of multi-functional artificial intelligence systems *** push the development of this issue,we propose the pluggable diffractive neural networks(P-DNN),a general paradigm resorting to the cascaded metasurfaces,which can be applied to recognize various tasks by switching internal *** the proof-of-principle,the recognition functions of six types of handwritten digits and six types of fashions are numerical simulated and experimental demonstrated at near-infrared ***,the proposed paradigm not only improves the flexibility of the optical neural networks but paves the new route for achieving high-speed,low-power and versatile artificial intelligence systems.

Metabolomic Analysis in Saliva and Different Brain Regions of Older Mice with Postoperative Delirium Behaviors

During the actual high-speed machining process,it is necessary to reduce the energy consumption and improve the machined surface ***,the appropriate prediction models and optimal cutting parameters are difficult to obtain in complex machining ***,a novel intelligent system is proposed for prediction and optimization.A novel adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system(NANFIS)is proposed to predict the energy consumption and surface *** the NANFIS model,the membership functions of the inputs are expanded into:membership superior and membership *** membership functions are varied based on the machining *** inputs of the NANFIS model are cutting parameters,and the outputs are the machining *** optimization,the optimal cutting parameters are obtained using the improved particle swarm optimization(IPSO)algorithm and NANFIS ***,the IPSO algorithm as a learning algorithm is used to train the NANFIS *** proposed intelligent system is applied to the high-speed milling process of compacted graphite *** experimental results show that the predictions of energy consumption and surface roughness by adopting the NANFIS models are up to 91.2%and 93.4%,*** NANFIS models can predict the energy consumption and surface roughness more accurately compared with other intelligent *** on the IPSO algorithm and NANFIS models,the optimal cutting parameters are obtained and validated to reduce both the cutting power and surface roughness and improve the milling *** is demonstrated that the proposed intelligent system is applicable to actual high-speed milling processes,thereby enabling sustainable and intelligent manufacturing.

Existence of long-range magnetic order in Heisenberg spin nanoribbons with edge modification

Long-range magnetic order appears on a side decorated Heisenberg spin nanoribbon at nonzero temperature, although no spontaneous magnetization exists in a one-or two-dimensional isotropic Heisenberg model at any nonzero temperature according to the Mermin–Wagner theorem. By use of the spin Green's function method, we calculated the magnetizations of Heisenberg nanoribbons decorated by side spins with single-ion anisotropy and found that the system exhibits a nonzero transition temperature, whether the decorated edge spins of the system link together or separate from each other. When the width of the nanoribbon achieves infinite limit, the transition temperatures of the system tend to the same finite constant eventually whether one edge or both edges are decorated by side spins in the nanoribbon. The results reveal that the magnetism of a low-dimensional spin system is different from that of a three-dimensional spin system. When the single-ion anisotropy of edge spins in a Heisenberg spin nanoribbon can be modulated by an electric field experimentally, various useful long-range magnetic orders of the system can be obtained. This work can provide a detailed theoretical basis for designing and fabricating next-generation low-dimensional magnetic random-access memory.
