Dist.nct.on of weak and st.ong AC grids for emerging hierarchical-infeed LCC-UHVDC syst.ms is import.nt.for planning and operat.on depart.ent.. However, accuracy of earlier dist.nct.on met.ods is limit.d as t.ey were developed by empirical reasoning wit.out.rigorous t.eoret.cal analysis. Hence in t.is let.er, hierarchical-infeed int.ract.ve effect.ve short.circuit.rat.o (HIESCR) index is first.used for st.engt. evaluat.on of HIDC syst.ms wit. complex int.r-invert.r int.ract.ons considered. Boundary HIESCR (BHIESCR) is also int.oduced in t.e proposed dist.nct.on met.od of weak and st.ong AC grids. t.at.is, weak (or st.ong) AC grids are, respect.vely, ident.fied when HIESCR is less (or great.r) t.an BHIESCR. Second, it.is shown BHIESCR remains almost.unchanged as 3.0 versus various syst.m paramet.rs and rat.d operat.on variables based on rigorous t.eoret.cal analysis. t.is salient.feat.re makes t.e proposed met.od more accurat. t.an earlier met.ods. Finally, t.e proposed met.od is validat.d by simulat.ons based on t.e PSCAD/EMt.C program.

Diabet.c eye disease refers t. a group of eye complicat.ons t.at.occur in diabet.c pat.ent. and include diabet.c ret.nopat.y, diabet.c macular edema, diabet.c cat.ract., and diabet.c glaucoma. However, t.e global epidemiology of t.ese condit.ons has not.been well charact.rized. In t.is st.dy, we collect.d informat.on on diabet.c eye disease-relat.d research grant. from seven represent.t.ve count.ies––t.e Unit.d St.t.s, China, Japan, t.e Unit.d Kingdom, Spain, Germany, and France––by searching for all global diabet.c eye disease journal art.cles in t.e Web of Science and Pub Med dat.bases, all global regist.red clinical t.ials in t.e Clinical t.ials dat.base, and new drugs approved by t.e Unit.d St.t.s, China, Japan, and EU agencies from 2012 t. 2021. During t.is t.me period, diabet.c ret.nopat.y account.d for t.e vast.majorit.(89.53%) of t.e 2288 government.research grant. t.at.were funded t. invest.gat. diabet.c eye disease, followed by diabet.c macular edema(9.27%). t.e Unit.d St.t.s grant.d t.e most.research funding for diabet.c eye disease out.of t.e seven count.ies assessed. t.e research object.ves of grant. focusing on diabet.c ret.nopat.y and diabet.c macular edema differed by count.y. Addit.onally, t.e Unit.d St.t.s was dominant.in t.rms of research out.ut. publishing 17.53% of global papers about.diabet.c eye disease and receiving 22.58% of t.t.l cit.t.ons. t.e Unit.d St.t.s and t.e Unit.d Kingdom led int.rnat.onal collaborat.ons in research int. diabet.c eye disease. Of t.e 415 clinical t.ials t.at.we ident.fied, diabet.c macular edema was t.e major disease t.at.was t.rget.d for drug development.58.19%). Approximat.ly half of t.e t.ials(49.13%) pert.ined t. angiogenesis. However, few drugs were approved for opht.almic(40 out.of 1830;2.19%) and diabet.c eye disease(3 out.of 1830;0.02%) applicat.ons. Our findings show t.at.basic and t.anslat.onal research relat.d t. diabet.c eye disease in t.e past.decade has not.been highly act.ve, and has yielded few new t
