Temporal changes in the spinal cord transcriptome after peripheral nerve injury

Peripheral nerve injury may trigger changes in mRNA levels in the spinal *** key mRNAs is important for improving repair after nerve *** study aimed to investigate changes in mRNAs in the spinal cord following sciatic nerve injury by transcriptomic *** left sciatic nerve denervation model was established in C57 BL/6 *** left L4–6 spinal cord segment was obtained at 0,1,2,4 and 8 weeks after severing the sciatic *** expression profiles were generated by RNA *** sequencing results of spinal cord mRNA at 1,2,4,and 8 weeks after severing the sciatic nerve were compared with those at 0 weeks by bioinformatic *** identified 1915 differentially expressed mRNAs in the spinal cord,of which 4,1909,and 2 were differentially expressed at 1,4,and 8 weeks after sciatic nerve injury,*** results indicated that the number of differentially expressed mRNAs in the spinal cord was highest at 4 weeks after sciatic nerve *** mRNAs were associated with the cellular response to lipid,ATP metabolism,energy coupled proton transmembrane transport,nuclear transcription factor complex,vacuolar proton-transporting V-type ATPase complex,inner mitochondrial membrane protein complex,tau protein binding,NADH dehydrogenase activity and hydrogen ion transmembrane transporter *** these mRNAs,Sgk1,Neurturin and Gpnmb took part in cell growth and *** analysis showed that these mRNAs were mainly involved in aldosterone-regulated sodium reabsorption,oxidative phosphorylation and collecting duct acid *** assessment indicated that these mRNAs were associated with inflammation and cell morphology *** findings show that the number and type of spinal cord mRNAs involved in changes at different time points after peripheral nerve injury were *** number of differentially expressed mRNAs in the spinal cord was highest at 4 weeks after sciatic nerve *** results

The retinal ganglion cells of the optic nerve have a limited capacity for self-repair after *** is a histone deacetylase inhibitor and multitarget drug,which has been demonstrated to protect retinal *** this study,we established rat models of optic nerve-crush injury and injected valproate into the vitreous cavity immediately after *** evaluated changes in the ultrastructure morphology of the endoplasmic reticulum of retinal ganglion cells over time via transmission electron *** and western blot assay revealed that valproate upregulated the expression of the endoplasmic reticulum stress marker glucose-regulated protein 78 and downregulated the expression of transcription factor C/EBP homologous protein,phosphorylated eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2α,and caspase-12 in the endoplasmic reticulum of retinal ganglion *** findings suggest that valproate reduces apoptosis of retinal ganglion cells in the rat after optic nerve-crush injury by attenuating phosphorylated eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2α-C/EBP homologous protein signaling and caspase-12 activation during endoplasmic reticulum *** findings represent a newly discovered mechanism that regulates how valproate protects neurons.

Metallacyclopentadienes are important metallacycles and regarded as intermediates in many reactions,therefore,new methods to achieve them are *** this study,a formal[3+2]method,through the reactions of an osmapentalyne with benzyl carbanions,was *** reactions underwent a nucleophilic attack of carbanions to the Os≡C bond,followed by C—H activation to form the five-membered osmacyclopentadiene *** of the reactions were carried out at room temperature,the substituents on the aromatic rings of benzyl carbanions are diverse,and the resulting products contain an Os—H bond,representing a novel type of 10C-carbolong *** work provides a new convenient route to construct metallacyclopentadienes,which is expected to further promote the development of such a type of substances.

Enhanced electrochemical property of FePO_4-coated liNi_(0.5)Mn_(1.5)O_4 as cathode materials for li-ion battery

Pristine liNi0.5Mnl.5O4 and FePO4-coated one with Fd-3m space groups were prepared by a sol-gel method. The structure and performance were studied by X-ray diffraction （XRD） rietveld refinement, scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, high resolution transmission electron microscopy （HRTEM）, energy dispersive spectrometer （EDS） mapping, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy （EIS） and charge- discharge tests, respectively. The lattice parameters of all samples almost remain the same from the Rietveld refinement, revealing that the crystallographic structure has no obvious difference between pris- tine liNi0.5Mn1.5O4 and FePO4-coated one. All materials show similar morphologies with uniform particle distribution with small particle size, and FePO4 coating does not affect the morphology of liNi0.5Mnl05O 4 material. EDS mapping and HRTEM show that FePO4 may be successfully wrapped around the surfaces of ***.s04 particles, and provides an effective coating layer between the electrolyte and the surface of liNi0.5Mn1.5O4 particles. FePO4 （1 wt%）-coated ***.504 cathode shows the highest discharge capac- ity at high rate （2 C） among all samples. After 80 cycles, the reversible discharge capacity of FePO4 （1 wt%） coated liNi0.5Mn0.5O4 is 117 mAh g^-1, but the pristine one only has 50 mAh g^-1. FeP04 coating is an effec- tive and controllable way to stabilize the liNi0.5Mn1.5O4/electrolyte interface, and avoids the direct con- tact between liNi0.5Mn1.5O4 powders and electrolyte, then suppresses the side reactions and enhances the electrochemical performance of the liNi0.5Mn1.5O4.

The CUSUM statistic of change point under NA sequences

In this paper,we investigate the CUSUM statistic of change point under the neg-atively associated(NA)*** establishing the consistency estimators for mean and covariance functions respectively,the limit distribution of the CUSUM statistic is proved to be a standard Brownian bridge,which extends the results obtained under the case of an indepen-dent normal sample and the moving average ***,the finite sample properties of the CUSUM statistic are given to show the efficiency of the method by simulation studies and an application on a real data analysis.

Wearing prediction of stellite alloys based on opposite degree algorithm

In order to predict the wearing of stellite alloys, the related methods of rare metals data processing were discussed. The method of opposite degree （OD） algorithm was put forward to predict the wearing of stellite alloys. OD algorithm is based on prior numerical data, posterior numerical data and the opposite degree between numerical forecast data. To compare the performance of predicted results based on different algorithms, the back propagation （BP） and radial basis function （RBF） neural network methods were introduced. Predicted results show that the relative error of OD algorithm is smaller than those of BP and RBF neural network methods. OD algorithm is an effective method to predict the wearing of stellite alloys and it can be applied in practice.

Tunable single-photon nonreciprocal scattering and targeted router in a giant atom-waveguide system with chiral couplings

We investigate the single-photon scattering properties of a driven three-level giant atom chirally coupled to two waveguides simultaneously in both the Markovian and the non-Markovian *** is shown that under the Markovian limit,the chiral photon-atom interactions enable nonreciprocal scattering in a single waveguide and targeted photon routing with a probability of 100%in two waveguides,while the presence of the driving field and the giant atom structure introduce a more tunable parameter to manipulate the single-photon scattering *** also examine how the non-reciprocity and routing capability are influenced by the imperfect chirality and the atomic *** the non-Markovian regime,we show that the scattering behaviors are more *** non-Markovicity induced non-reciprocity and photon routing are demonstrated in this *** believe that those results have potential applications in quantum network engineering.

Femtosecond laser capsulotomy versus manual capsulotomy： a Meta-analysis

AIM：To perform a Meta-analysis on the precision and safety of femtosecond laser（FSL） capsulotomy compared with manual continuous curvilinear capsulotomy（CCC）.· METHODS：We searched PubMed,EMBASE,Web of Science,the Cochrane library databases,and Clinical *** that maintained our inclusion *** lists of retrieved articles were also *** effects of morphology of capsulorhexis and the tears of anterior capsule were calculated by using randomeffect models.· RESULTS：We identified 4 randomized and 7nonrandomized studies involving 2941 *** diameter of capsulotomy and the rates of anterior capsule tear showed no statistically difference between FSL group and manual group（MD=0.03;95%CI,-0.03 to0.09,P=0.31）,and（OR=1.40;95%CI,0.28 to 6.97,P=0.68） *** terms of the circularity of capsulotomy,FSL group had a more significant advantage than the manual CCC group（MD=0.09;95%CI,0.05 to 0.12,P〈0.001）.· CONCLUSION：Our Meta-analysis shows that FSL can perform a capsulotomy with more precision and higher reliability than manual *** results in diameter of capsulotomy and the rate of anterior capsule tears was no significant difference between FSL and manual CCC *** in terms of circularity,the FSL was superior to the manual procedure.

Comparative Case Study on Adhesion of Three Common Sizing Agents to Cotton and Polyester Yarns

The adhesion between warp sizing and fiber was systematically studied by using the roving *** roving and polyester roving were sized with various concentrations between 0.01%and 2.50%of acid-thinned starch,polyvinyl alcohol and water-soluble polyester sizing,respectively,and tensile property of the sized roving was tested *** break force of the sized roving was considered as the adhesion force of the sizing to the fiber in the roving *** experimental results show that the effects of sizing film strength and fiber strength on the adhesive force can be weakened when the concentration 0.5%of size paste is used,instead of 1%in the roving *** size morphology in the sized roving and on the surface was observed through scanning electron microscopy,in the form of penetration and coverage of the sizing in or on the *** the other hand,the Young-Dupréequation was used to calculate the adhesion *** advantages and disadvantages of roving method and the adhesion work method were *** adhesion obtained by both two methods reflects the rule of chemical similarity between warp sizing and fiber.

Background:liver injury is one of the most common complications during *** migration inhibitory factor(MIF)is an important proinflammatory *** study explored the role of MIF in the lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced liver injury through genetically manipulated mouse ***:The model of LPS-induced liver injury was established in wild-type and Mif-knockout C57/BL6 *** levels of alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),and total bilirubin(TBil)were detected,and the expressions of MIF,tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and interleukin-1β(IL-1β)were *** histopathology was conducted to assess liver ***,the inhibitions of MIF with(S,R)-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-4,5-dihydro-5-isoxazole acetic acid methyl ester(ISO-1)and 4-iodo-6-phenylpyrimidine(4-IPP)were used to evaluate their therapeutic potential of liver ***:Compared with wild-type mice,the liver function indices and inflammation factors presented no significant difference in the Mif-/-*** 72 h of the LPS-induced liver injury,serum levels of ALT,AST,and TBil as well as TNF-αand IL-1βwere significantly increased,but the knockout of Mif attenuated liver injury and inflammatory *** liver tissue,m RNA levels of TNF-α,IL-1βand NF-κB p65 were remarkably elevated in LPS-induced liver injury,while the knockout of Mif reduced these ***,in LPS-induced liver injury,the inhibitions of MIF with ISO-1 and 4-IPP alleviated liver injury and slightly attenuated inflammatory ***,compared to mice with LPS-induced liver injury,Mif knockout or MIF inhibitions significantly prolonged the survival of the ***:In LPS-induced liver injury,the knockout of Mif or MIF inhibitions alleviated liver injury and slightly attenuated inflammatory response,thereby prolonged the survival of the *** MIF may be an important strategy to protect the liver from injury during sepsis.
