Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is highly prevalent among older men, impacting on their quality of life, sexual function, and genitourinary health, and has become an important global burden of disease. Transurethral plasmakinetic resection of prostate (TUPKP) is one of the foremost surgical procedures for the treatment of BPH. It has become well established in clinical practice with good efficacy and safety. In 2018, we issued the guideline “2018 Standard Edition”. However much new direct evidence has now emerged and this may change some of previous recommendations. The time is ripe to develop new evidence-based guidelines, so we formed a working group of clinical experts and methodologists. The steering group members posed 31 questions relevant to the management of TUPKP for BPH covering the following areas: questions relevant to the perioperative period (preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative) of TUPKP in the treatment of BPH, postoperative complications and the level of surgeons’ surgical skill. We searched the literature for direct evidence on the management of TUPKP for BPH, and assessed its certainty generated recommendations using the grade criteria by the European Association of Urology. Recommendations were either strong or weak, or in the form of an ungraded consensus-based statement. Finally, we issued 36 statements. Among them, 23 carried strong recommendations, and 13 carried weak recommendations for the stated procedure. They covered questions relevant to the aforementioned three areas. The preoperative period for TUPKP in the treatment of BPH included indications and contraindications for TUPKP, precautions for preoperative preparation in patients with renal impairment and urinary tract infection due to urinary retention, and preoperative prophylactic use of antibiotics. Thymic epithelial cell development and differentiation: cellular and molecular regulation

Thymic epithelial cells (TECs) are one of the most important components in thymic microenvironment supporting thymocyte development and maturation. TECs, composed of cortical and medullary TECs, are derived from a common bipotent progenitor, mediating thymocyte positive and negative selections. Multiple levels of signals including intracellular signaling networks and cell-cell interaction are required for TEC development and differentiation. Transcription factors Foxn1 and autoimmune regulator (Aire) are powerful regulators promoting TEC development and differentiation. Crosstalks with thymocytes and other stromal cells for extrinsic signals like RANKL, CD40L, lymphotoxin, fibroblast growth factor (FGF) and Wnt are also definitely required to establish a functional thymic microenvironment. In this review, we will summarize our current understanding about TEC development and differentiation, and its underlying multiple signal pathways.

Approaches to Census Mapping:Chinese Solution in 2010 Rounded Census

China still use sketch maps as control devices that guarantees consistency and accuracy of population counting in previous *** the rapid advancement of geospatial technologies provides many possible solutions of digital census mapping,existing researches do not answer which solution is suitable to *** to many constraints originated from characteristics of China,a practical solution of census mapping based on remote sensing imagery and auxiliary geographic information was proposed and proved to be feasible through evaluation analysis and a three-stage pilot *** with 2.5 meters and higher resolution,innovative workflow of census areas delineation,easy-to-use census mapping software packages and training organization all together provide the all-around supports for the 2010 rounded census (the 6th census) mapping activities.A digital census geographic framework detailed at the level of enumeration area was established in the 2010 rounded census which fills in the gaps in the field of modern geospatial census in *** spatially referenced digital census database,especially the detailed census units,is of great value in successive census,sampling survey and many other census-related *** work including quality evaluation of census areas,census mapping solution in the Tibet Autonomous Region are also discussed.

Protecting and Scaffolding:How Parents Facilitate Children's Activities in Public Space in Urban China

Purpose:During the past decades,China has seen a rapid urbanization that has(re)shaped not only its city landscape but also(re)created public space where children live,play,and ***,litle research has focused on how urban public space influences young children's learning and development and how parents navigate children's development in the public ***,this research aims to study how public space influences parents'engagement with their young ***/Approach/Methods:This study is informed of Bronfenbrenner's Processes,Person,Context,and Time(PPCT)model that sees children's learning as complex and multilateral interactions among various stakeholders including schools,families,and *** employed ethnographic approach to study the interactions between children and their parents in a public playground in a Western Chinese ***:It found that parents realized public space had been reshaped by *** they accompanied their children to play,they actively monitored children's safety and cultivated children's physical and social *** this process,male parents tended to contribute more than they would do in other ***/Value:This study fills the gap by providing a nuanced study exploring how parents fulfill their responsibilities in an integral space of children's development,which has rarely been explored.

Chlorobenzenes Contamination in Soils/Sediments at a Site of Decommissioned Plant in Central China

China is one of the most important producers and suppliers of the chlorobenzenes （CBs）, accounting for more than 50% of the world production. Although CBs contamination at the sites of chemical production factories is well-known, the knowledge on spatial distribution and contaminated degree of CBs are still limited. To better understand the occurrence of CBs, a total of 161 soil/sediment samples were collected from 36 sampling points within a 20 m deep from a site of decommissioned chlorobenzenes-producing factory in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, central China. The results showed that monochlorobenzene （MCB） is the predominant contaminants with the ∑CBs levels ranging from 0.05 to 8 600 mg/kg dry weight （dw） with a mean value of 384 mg/kg dw. The vertical distribution of CBs indicated that CBs may have clearly transported to deeper sections in the subsurface. Statistical analyses showed that there are no good correlations between the ∑CBs concentration with soil organic matter （SOM） content and the moisture content.

An equilibrium analysis of the land use structure in the Yunnan Province, China

Global land use structure is changing rapidly due to unceasing population growth and accelerated urbanization, which leads to fierce competition between the rigid demand for built-up area and the protection of cultivated land, forest, and grassland. It has been a great challenge to realize the sustainable development of land resources. Based on a computable general equilibrium model of land use change with a social accounting matrix dataset, this study implemented an equilibrium analysis of the land use structure in the Yunnan Province during the period of 2008-2020 under three scenarios, the baseline scenario, low TFP （total factor productivity） scenario, and high TFP scenario. The results indicated that under all three scenarios, area of cultivated land declined signifi- cantly along with a remarkable expansion of built-up area, while areas of forest, grassland, and unused land increased slightly. The growth rate of TFP had first negative and then positive effects on the expansion of built-up area and decline of cultivated land as it increased. Moreover, the simulated changes of both cultivated land and built-up area were the biggest under the low TFP scenario, and far exceeded the limit in the Overall Plan for Land Utilization in the Yunnan Province in 2020. The scenario-based simulation results are of important reference value for policy-makers in making land use decisions, balancing the fierce competition between the protection of cultivated land and the increasing demand for built-up area, and guaranteeing food security, ecological security, and the sustainable development of land resources.

The response of ecosystem carbon and nitrogen pools to experimental warming in grasslands: a meta-analysis

Carbon(C)and nitrogen(N)coupling processes in terrestrial ecosystems have the potential to modify the sensitivity of the global C cycle to climate *** the degree to which C–N interactions contribute to the sequestration of terrestrial ecosystem C(C_(seq)),both now and in the future,remains *** this study,we used a meta-analysis to quantitatively synthesize C and N responses from feld experiments on grasslands subjected to simulated warming and assessed the relative importance of three properties(changes in ecosystem N amount,redistribution of N among soil,litter and vegetation,and modifcations in the C:N ratio)associated with grassland C_(seq) in response to *** increased soil,litter and vegetation C:N ratios and approximately 2%of N shifted from the soil to vegetation and ***-induced grassland C_(seq) was the result of the net balance between increases in vegetation and litter C(111.2 g·m^(−2))and decreases in soil C(30.0 g·m^(−2)).Warming-induced accumulation of C stocks in grassland ecosystems indicated that the three processes examined were the main contributors to C_(seq),with the changes in C:N ratios in soil,litter and vegetation as the major contributors,followed by N redistribution,whilst a decrease in total N had a negative effect on C_(seq).These results indicate that elevated temperatures have a signifcant infuence on grassland C and N stocks and their coupling processes,suggesting that ecological models need to include C–N interactions for more accurate predictions of future terrestrial C storage.

Chinese herbal medicine for subacute thyroiditis:a systematic review of randomized controlled trials

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of Chinese herbal medicine(CHM) in the ***: Randomized controlled trials found in PubMed, Cochrane Library, and three Chinese databases were selected. RevMan 5.2 software was used to analyze the data with relative risk or mean difference, expressed with 95% of confidence interval. The quality of trials was assessed and gradedthe quality of evidence with GRADE profiler ***: Twenty one studies were included. CHM was superior to Western Medicine(include prednisone and NSAIDs) in abating fever, relieving thyroid pain, recovering blood sedimentation, improving thyroid function, and preventing hypothyroidism(P0.05) were found in recovering blood sedimentation and improving thyroid function. The incidence of adverse reactions in treatment group was lower than that in control group(relative risk was 0.12 and 95% confidence interval was 0.03-0.51). The methodological quality of trials is generally poor with a high risk of ***: CHM(particularly CHM combined withWestern Medicine) used to treat subacute thyroiditis may improve clinical symptoms and signs,reduce relapse rate, and alleviate the side effects of hormones. Due to poor methodological quality of included trials, further more high-quality studies are warranted to confirm the effectiveness and safety of CHM.
