Ultrasonic humidifiers are commonly used in households to maintain indoor humidity and generate a large number of droplets or spray ***,there have been various health concerns associated with humidifier use,largely due to aerosols generated during ***,we investigated the size distribution,chemical composition,and charged fraction of aerosol particles emitted from commercial ultrasonic *** metals in water used for humidifiers were found to be highly enriched in the ultrasonic humidifier aerosols(UHA),with the enrichment factors ranging from 102 to *** enrichment may pose health concerns for the building occupants,as UHA concentrations of up to 106 particles/cm^(3) or 3 mg/m^(3) were ***,approximately 90%of UHA were observed to be electrically charged,for the first time according to our *** on this discovery,we proposed and tested a newmethod to remove UHA by using a simple electrical *** designed electrical field in this work can efficiently remove 81.4%of ***,applying this electrical field could be an effective method to significantly reduce the health risks by UHA.

Objective Several epidemiological observational studies have related particulate matter(PM)exposure to Inflammatory bowel disease(IBD),but many confounding factors make it difficult to draw causal links from observational *** objective of this study was to explore the causal association between PM_(2.5)exposure,its absorbance,and *** We assessed the association of PM_(2.5)and PM_(2.5)absorbance with the two primary forms of IBD(Crohn’s disease[CD]and ulcerative colitis[UC])using Mendelian randomization(MR)to explore the causal *** conducted two-sample MR analyses with aggregated data from the UK Biobank genome-wide association ***-nucleotide polymorphisms linked with PM_(2.5)concentrations or their absorbance were used as instrumental variables(IVs).We used inverse variance weighting(IVW)as the primary analytical approach and four other standard methods as supplementary analyses for quality *** The results of MR demonstrated that PM_(2.5)had an adverse influence on UC risk(odds ratio[OR]=1.010;95%confidence interval[CI]=1.001–1.019,P=0.020).Meanwhile,the results of IVW showed that PM_(2.5)absorbance was also causally associated with UC(OR=1.012;95%CI=1.004–1.019,P=0.002).We observed no causal relationship between PM_(2.5),PM_(2.5)absorbance,and *** results of sensitivity analysis indicated the absence of heterogeneity or pleiotropy,ensuring the reliability of MR *** Based on two-sample MR analyses,there are potential positive causal relationships between PM_(2.5),PM_(2.5)absorbance,and UC.

OBJECTIVE: To examine the effect of electroacupuncture(EA) application on postoperative pain levels and the amount of analgesic use in patients who underwent periodontal flap surgery. METHODS: In this prospective, randomized and controlled study, patients planned for periodontal surgery were divided into two groups [EA group(n = 22): patients who received electroacupuncture and control group(n = 22): patients who did not receive electroacupuncture]. Electroacupuncture was applied bilaterally to the Hegu(LI4), Daying(ST5), and Jiache(ST5) points of the patients in the EA group immediately before and after the flap surgery for 30 min at a frequency of 50 Hz to each point at a current that the patient could tolerate. The patients in the control group underwent flap surgery without applying electroacupuncture. Patients were asked to record their pain levels on the visual analog scale and the number of analgesic tablets they took during the 7 postoperative days on the given form. RESULTS: The total mean score of pain felt in the EA group(16.60 ± 2.78) was found to be significantly lower than that in the control group(31.37 ± 2.78)(P = 0.001). No significant difference was found between the groups regarding the amount of analgesics taken(4.77 ± 4.72, 5.82 ± 3.11)(P = 0.111). CONCluSIONS: Our study shows that electroacupuncture application is beneficial in reducing pain after periodontal flap surgery. Overall, more research is needed to fully understand the effects of electroacupuncture on postoperative pain.

The reduction of nitrobenzene to aniline is very important for both pollution control and chemical ***,difficulties still remain in developing a catalytic system having high efficiency and selectivity for the production of ***,it was found that PdO nanoparticles highly dispersed on TiO_(2)support(PdO/TiO_(2))functioned as a highly efficient catalyst for the reduction of nitrobenzene in the presence of *** favorable conditions,95%of the added nitrobenzene(1 mmol/L)was reduced within 1 min with an ultra-low apparent activation energy of 10.8 kJ/mol by using 0.5%PdO/TiO_(2)as catalysts and 2 mmol/L of NaBH4 as reductants,and the selectivity to aniline even reached up to 98%.The active hydrogen specieswere perceived as dominant species during the hydrogenation of nitrobenzene by the results of isotope labeling experiments and ESR spectroscopic.A mechanismwas proposed as follows:PdO activates the nitro groups and leads to in-situ generation of Pd,and the generated Pd acts as the reduction sites to produce active hydrogen *** this catalytic system,nitrobenzene prefers to be adsorbed on the PdO nanoparticles of the PdO/TiO_(2)***,the addition of NaBH4 results in in-situ generation of a Pd/PdO/TiO_(2)composite from the PdO/TiO_(2)composite,and the Pd nanoclusters would activate NaBH4 to generate active hydrogen species to attack the adsorbed nitro *** work will open up a new approach for the catalytic transfer hydrogenation of nitrobenzene to aniline in green chemistry.

Quantum information masking（QIM） is a crucial technique for protecting quantum data from being accessed by local subsystems. In this paper, we introduce a novel method for achieving1-uniform QIM in multipartite systems utilizing a Fourier matrix. We further extend this approach to construct an orthogonal array with the aid of a Hadamard matrix, which is a specific type of Fourier matrix. This allows us to explore the relationship between 2-uniform QIM and orthogonal arrays. Through this framework, we derive two distinct 2-uniform quantum states,enabling the 2-uniform masking of original information within multipartite ***, we prove that the maximum number of quantum bits required for achieving a2-uniformly masked state is 2~n-1, and the minimum is 2n-1+ 3. Moreover, our scheme effectively demonstrates the rich quantum correlations between multipartite systems and has potential application value in quantum secret sharing.

Carbon materials are widely recognized as highly promising electrode materials for various energy storage system *** tar residues(CTR),as a type of carbon-rich solid waste with high value-added utilization,are crucially important for the development of a more sustainable *** this study,we employed a straightforward direct carbonization method within the temperature range of 700-1000℃to convert the worthless solid waste CTR into economically valuable carbon materials as anodes for potassium-ion batteries(PIBs).The effect of carbonization temperature on the microstructure and the potassium ions storage properties of CTR-derived carbons(CTRCs)were systematically explored by structural and morphological characterization,alongside electrochemical performances *** on the co-regulation between the turbine layers,crystal structure,pore structure,functional groups,and electrical conductivity of CTR-derived carbon carbonized at 900℃(CTRC-900H),the electrode material with high reversible capacity of 265.6m Ah·g^(-1)at 50 m A·g^(-1),a desirable cycling stability with 93.8%capacity retention even after 100 cycles,and the remarkable rate performance for PIBs were ***,cyclic voltammetry(CV)at different scan rates and galvanostatic intermittent titration technique(GITT)have been employed to explore the potassium ions storage mechanism and electrochemical kinetics of *** indicate that the electrode behavior is predominantly governed by surface-induced capacitive processes,particularly under high current densities,with the potassium storage mechanism characterized by an“adsorption-weak intercalation”*** work highlights the potential of CTR-based carbon as a promising electrode material category suitable for high-performance PIBs electrodes,while also provides valuable insights into the new avenues for the high value-added utilization of CTR.

The accurate simulation of wave propagation in real media requires properly taking the attenuation into account,which leads to wave dissipation together with its causal companion,wave *** this study,to obtain a weak formulation of heterogenous viscoacoustic wave propagation in an infinite domain,the viscoacoustic medium is first characterized by its frequency-dependent complex bulk compliance instead of the classically used complex bulk ***,a mechanical model using serially connected standard linear solids(SSLS)is built to obtain the rational approximation of the complex bulk compliance whose parameters are calculated via an adapted nonlinear optimization *** the obtained bulk compliance-based constitutive relation,a novel second-order viscoacoustic wave equation in the frequency domain is derived,of which the weak formulation can be physically explained as the virtual work equation and can thus be discretized using a continuous spectral element method in ***,a new method is introduced to address the convolution terms involved in the inverse Fourier transform,whose accurate time integration can then be achieved using an explicit time scheme,which avoids the transient growth that exists in the classical *** resulting full time-space decoupling scheme can handle wave propagation in arbitrary heterogeneous ***,to treat the wave propagation in an infinite domain,a perfectly matched layer in weak formulation is derived for the truncation of the infinite domain via complex coordinate stretching of the virtual work *** only minor modification,the resulting perfectly matched layer can be implemented using the same time scheme as for the wave equation inside the truncated *** accuracy,numerical stability,and versatility of the new proposed scheme are demonstrated with numerical examples.
