Removal of Cr(Ⅵ)by glutaraldehyde-crosslinked chitosan encapsulating microscale zero-valent iron:Synthesis,mechanism,and longevity

Microscale zero-valent iron(mZVI)has shown great potential for groundwater Cr(Ⅵ)remediation.However,low Cr(Ⅵ)removal capacity caused by passivation restricted the wide use of mZVI.We prepared mZVI/GCS by encapsulating mZVI in a porous glutaraldehydecrosslinked chitosan matrix,and the formation of the passivation layer was alleviated by reducing the contact between zero-valent iron particles.The average pore diameter of mZVI/GCS was 8.775 nm,which confirmed the mesoporous characteristic of this material.Results of batch experiments demonstrated that mZVI/GCS exhibited high Cr(Ⅵ)removal efficiency in a wide range of pH(2-10)and temperature(5-35℃).Common groundwater coexisting ions slightly affected m ZVI/GCS.The material showed great reusability,and the average Cr(Ⅵ)removal efficiency was 90.41%during eight cycles.In this study,we also conducted kinetics and isotherms analysis.Pseudo-second-order model was the most matched kinetics model.The Cr(Ⅵ)adsorption process was fitted by both Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms models,and the maximum Langmuir adsorption capacity of m ZVI/GCS reached243.63 mg/g,which is higher than the adsorption capacities of materials reported in most of the previous studies.Notably,the column capacity for Cr(Ⅵ)removal of a mZVI/GCS-packed column was 6.4 times higher than that of a mZVI-packed column in a 50-day experiment.Therefore,mZVI/GCS with a porous structure effectively relieved passivation problems of mZVI and showed practical application prospects as groundwater Cr(Ⅵ)remediation material with practical application prospects.

Review of dynamics and active control of large-scale space membrane antenna

Large-scale space membrane antennas have significant potential in satellite communication,space-based early warning,and Earth observation.Because of their large size and high flexibility,the dynamic analysis and control of membrane antenna are challenging.To maintain the working performance of the antenna,the pointing and surface accuracies must be strictly maintained.Therefore,the accurate dynamic modeling and effective active control of large-scale space membrane antennas have great theoretical significance and practical value,and have attracted considerable interest in recent years.This paper reviews the dynamics and active control of large-scale space membrane antennas.First,the development and status of large-scale space membrane antennas are summarized.Subsequently,the key problems in the dynamics and active control of large membrane antennas,including the dynamics of wrinkled membranes,large-amplitude nonlinear vibration,nonlinear model reduction,rigid-flexible-thermal coupling dynamic modeling,on-orbit modal parameter identification,active vibration control,and wave-based vibration control,are discussed in detail.Finally,the research outlook and future trends are presented.

Multivariate statistical and bioinformatic analyses for the seasonal variations of actinobacterial community structures in a drinking water reservoir

Actinobacterial community is a conspicuous part of aquatic ecosystems and displays an important role in the case of biogeochemical cycle,but little is known about the seasonal variation of actinobacterial community in reservoir ecological environment.In this study,the high-throughput techniques were used to investigate the structure of the aquatic actinobacterial community and its inducing water quality parameters in different seasons.The results showed that the highest diversity and abundance of actinobacterial community occurred in winter,with Sporichthya(45.42%)being the most abundant genus and Rhodococcus sp.(29.32%)being the most abundant species.Network analysis and correlation analysis suggested that in autumn the dynamics of actinobacterial community were infuenced by more factors and Nocardioides sp.SX2R5S2 was the potential keystone species which was negatively correlated with temperature(R=-0.72,P<0.05).Changes in environmental factors could significantly affect the changes in actinobacterial community,and the dynamics of temperature,dissolved oxygen(DO),and turbidity are potential conspicuous factors infuencing seasonal actinobacterial community trends.The partial least squares path modeling further elucidated that the combined effects of DO and temperature not only in the diversity of actinobacterial community but also in other water qualities,while the physiochemical parameters(path coefficient=1.571,P<0.05)was strong environmental factors in natural mixture period.These results strengthen our understanding of the dynamics and structures of actinobacterial community in the drinking water reservoirs and provide scientific guidance for further water quality management and protection in water sources.

Effect of heat treatment on microstructure and mechanical properties of selective laser-melted PH13-8Mo stainless steel

PH13-8Mo stainless steel powder with high sphericity and well fluidity was prepared by the plasma rotating electrode process.The formed parts with ultra-high purity were manufactured by selective laser melting.The tensile and impact mechanical properties of the printed parts under three heat treatment regimes were compared to those without heat treatment.The microstructure,grain orientation and phase composition were characterized by electron-backscatter diffraction,X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy.The characterization results reveal that the addition of heat treatment makes the grains enlarge,and after different heat treatments,the average grain size from 1.51μm in the printed state increases to 2.78,3.09 and 2.06μm,respectively.The formed parts are mainly composed of martensite and retained austenite.Moreover,the NiAl and M23C precipitates form,which are the major strengthening phases of PH13-8Mo stainless steel.The optimal heat treatment process is 925℃×1 h water cooling(WC)+0℃×2 h air cooling(AC)+540℃×4 h AC.Using this heat treatment process,PH13-8Mo formed parts have the optimal comprehensive mechanical properties:the tensile strength,yield strength and impact energy KU2 are 1492 MPa,1432 MPa and 63 J,respectively.The strengthening and toughening via heat treatment are mainly attributed to dislocation strengthening,the formation of NiAl and M23Co precipitates and the change of volume fraction of the retained austenite.

Research progress and prospects on the formation mechanism of macrosegregation and shrinkage porosity in large steel ingots

Macrosegregation and shrinkage porosity in large steel ingots are key factors restricting the homogenization of large cast and forged parts. Due to the complex mechanisms of their formation, they have always been challenging issues in the research on solidification control of large steel ingots. The purpose of this review is to systematically revisit the research progress on the mechanisms of macrosegregation and shrinkage porosity formation in large steel ingots, focusing on the mechanisms of formation of 'A' type segregation, positive segregation at the top, and negative segregation at the bottom, and their impact on the quality of steel ingots. At the same time, the conditions and influencing factors for the formation of shrinkage porosity are analyzed in detail, and the interaction between macrosegregation and shrinkage porosity during the solidification process of steel ingots is discussed.Based on existing research results and challenges, prospects for future research directions are proposed,emphasizing the development of high-precision numerical simulation techniques and experimental research methods to deeply understand the internal mechanisms of segregation and porosity formation, providing a scientific basis for formulating effective control strategies.

The Influence of Acid on the RockMechanical Characteristics of Deep Shale in theWujiaping Formation

The microscopic characteristics and mechanical properties of rocks change after the action of acid on deep shale,which affects the fracturing effect.Accordingly,we designed and conducted indoor experiments related to the changes in macro and microscopic characteristics after the interaction of acid with the shale of Wujiaping Formation,based on which the characteristic law of fracture volume modification after acid fracturing was studied using numerical simulation.The results demonstrate that the pores and fractures are enlarged and the structure is significantly loosened after the acid immersion.And a 15%concentration of hydrochloric acid can effectively dissolve shale.Furthermore,the degree of acid-etching reaction is highly variable because of the different carbonate content,which reveals the strong inhomogeneity of the shale system in the Wujiaping Group reservoir section.After the acid interacted with the shale rock samples,the triaxial compressive strength,elastic modulus,and Poisson’s ratio of shale decreased.Moreover,the evaluation of the effect after acid fracturing simulated by fracturing software revealed that the smaller the value of elastic modulus in shale-based reservoirs,the more favorable the fracture volume modification.This discovery not only provides a theoretical basis for the expansion and extension patterns of acid-fracturing in carbonaceous shale formations but also offers research methods and theoretical insights for the fundamental exploration of other deep-seated oil and gas resources.

In the realm of subway shield tunnel operations,the impact of tunnel settlement on the operational performance of subway vehicles is a crucial concern.This study introduces an advanced analytical model to investigate rail geometric deformations caused by settlement within a vehicle-track-tunnel coupled system.The model integrates the geometric deformations of the track,attributed to settlement,as track irregularities.A novel“cyclic model”algorithm was employed to enhance computational efficiency without compromising on precision,a claim that was rigorously validated.The model’s capability extends to analyzing the time-history responses of vehicles traversing settlement-affected areas.The research primarily focuses on how settlement wavelength,amplitude,and vehicle speed influence operational performance.Key findings indicate that an increase in settlement wavelength can improve vehicle performance,whereas a rise in amplitude can degrade it.The study also establishes settlement thresholds,based on vehicle operation comfort and safety.These insights are pivotal for maintaining and enhancing the safety and efficiency of subway systems,providing a valuable framework for urban infrastructure management and long-term maintenance strategies in metropolitan transit systems.

An Efficient and Provably Secure SM2 Key-Insulated Signature Scheme for Industrial Internet of Things

With the continuous expansion of the Industrial Internet of Things(IIoT),more andmore organisations are placing large amounts of data in the cloud to reduce overheads.However,the channel between cloud servers and smart equipment is not trustworthy,so the issue of data authenticity needs to be addressed.The SM2 digital signature algorithm can provide an authentication mechanism for data to solve such problems.Unfortunately,it still suffers from the problem of key exposure.In order to address this concern,this study first introduces a key-insulated scheme,SM2-KI-SIGN,based on the SM2 algorithm.This scheme boasts strong key insulation and secure keyupdates.Our scheme uses the elliptic curve algorithm,which is not only more efficient but also more suitable for IIoT-cloud environments.Finally,the security proof of SM2-KI-SIGN is given under the Elliptic Curve Discrete Logarithm(ECDL)assumption in the random oracle.

Plants require a number of essential elements in different proportions for ensuring their growth and development.The elemental concentrations in leaves reflect the functions and adaptations of plants under specific environmental conditions.However,less is known about how the spectrum of leaf elements associated with resource acquisition,photosynthesis and growth regulates forest biomass along broad elevational gradients.We examined the influence of leaf element distribution and diversity on forest biomass by analyzing ten elements(C,N,P,K,Ca,Mg,Zn,Fe,Cu,and Mn)in tree communities situated every 100 meters along an extensive elevation gradient,ranging from the tropical forest(80 meters above sea level)to the alpine treeline(4200 meters above sea level)in the Kangchenjunga Landscape in eastern Nepal Himalayas.We calculated communityweighted averages(reflecting dominant traits governing biomass,i.e.,mass-ratio effect)and functional divergence(reflecting increased trait variety,i.e.,complementarity effect)for leaf elements in a total of 1,859 trees representing 116 species.An increasing mass-ratio effect and decreasing complementarity in leaf elements enhance forest biomass accumulation.A combination of elements together with elevation explains biomass(52.2%of the variance)better than individual elemental trait diversity(0.05%to 21%of the variance).Elevation modulates trait diversity among plant species in biomass accumulation.Complementarity promotes biomass at lower elevations,but reduces biomass at higher elevations,demonstrating an interaction between elevation and complementarity.The interaction between elevation and mass-ratio effect produces heterogeneous effects on biomass along the elevation gradient.Our research indicates that biomass accumulation can be disproportionately affected by elevation due to interactions among trait diversities across vegetation zones.While higher trait variation enhances the adaptation of species to environmental changes,it reduces biomass accumulation,especially at higher elevat

Research on Rotating Machinery Fault Diagnosis Based on Improved Multi-target Domain Adversarial Network

Aiming at the problems of low efficiency,poor anti-noise and robustness of transfer learning model in intelligent fault diagnosis of rotating machinery,a new method of intelligent fault diagnosis of rotating machinery based on single source and multi-target domain adversarial network model(WDMACN)and Gram Angle Product field(GAPF)was proposed.Firstly,the original one-dimensional vibration signal is preprocessed using GAPF to generate the image data including all time series.Secondly,the residual network is used to extract data features,and the features of the target domain without labels are pseudo-labeled,and the transferable features among the feature extractors are shared through the depth parameter,and the feature extractors of the multi-target domain are updated anatomically to generate the features that the discriminator cannot distinguish.The modelt through adversarial domain adaptation,thus achieving fault classification.Finally,a large number of validations were carried out on the bearing data set of Case Western Reserve University(CWRU)and the gear data.The results show that the proposed method can greatly improve the diagnostic efficiency of the model,and has good noise resistance and generalization.
