Undersea safety mining of the large gold deposit in Xinli District of Sanshandao Gold Mine

The exploration of undersea resources becomes popular as land resources decrease. Researches were conducted with emphasis on the safety and efficiency of undersea mining of the large gold deposit in Xinli District of Sanshandao Gold Mine. A series of tests for the physical and mechanical characteristics of rock mass were carried out, and the three-dimensional geo-stress distribution was tested in the mining area. Further, a similar experimental simulation platform, which revealed the mechanism of water inrush and ascertained the reason- able thickness of the safety isolate layer, was established for the undersea mining. Meanwhile, the feasibility of cancelling the ore pillars and the safety conditions was checked by numerical simulation. The simulation results show that it is safe to exploit the ore body below the -85 m level （presently, the exploitation level is below -160 m in Xinli District）, and the ore pillars can be cancelled below the -560 m level. Fur- thermore, a novel backfill method was designed to reduce the rock strata disturbance and settlement, and the settlement of roof strata was monitored during the mining process. Engineering practice shows that the settlement of roof strata was small and that no disaster happened. This indicates that the undersea safety mining technology of the large gold deposit is achieved in Xinli District.

This paper concerns the solution of the NP-hard max-bisection problems. NCP functions are employed to convert max-bisection problems into continuous nonlinear programming problems. Solving the resulting continuous nonlinear programming problem generates a solution that gives an upper bound on the optimal value of the max-bisection problem. From the solution, the greedy strategy is used to generate a satisfactory approximate solution of the max-bisection problem. A feasible direction method without line searches is proposed to solve the resulting continuous nonlinear programming, and the convergence of the algorithm to KKT point of the resulting problem is proved. Numerical experiments and comparisons on well-known test problems, and on randomly generated test problems show that the proposed method is robust, and very efficient.

The unprecedented growth of the Internet of Things(Io T) has led to a huge amount of wireless resource consumption in a network. Due to limited wireless resources, a network can only guarantee the quality of service(QoS) of authenticated users rather than that of all users. By acknowledging this limitation,we realise that user authentication would be a big issue in Io T networks. Although traditional authentication methods can enhance network security to a certain extent, their vulnerability to malicious attacks and the relevant complicated computations restrict Io T deployments. In this paper, a radio frequency(RF)fingerprinting based authentication scheme is proposed under the architecture of convolutional neural network(CNN). It can effectively prevent unauthenticated users from consuming valuable wireless resources and significantly improve QoS performance for legitimate users. By solving an NP-hard optimization problem with the objective of minimizing efficient energy density, we demonstrate an approximate optimal resource allocation scheme in consideration of an RF-fingerprinting based authentication process. The analytic results show that our proposed scheme can dramatically reduce the efficient energy density compared with traditional cryptography based authentication schemes.

This paper proposes a two-stage point cloud super resolution framework that combines local interpolation and deep neural network based readjustment. For the first stage, the authors apply a local interpolation method to increase the density and uniformity of the target point cloud. For the second stage, the authors employ an outer-product neural network to readjust the position of points that are inserted at the first stage. Comparison examples are given to demonstrate that the proposed framework achieves a better accuracy than existing state-of-art approaches, such as PU-Net, Point Net and DGCNN(Source code is available at https://***/qwerty1319/PC-SR).

Given an m × n mesh-connected VLSI array with some faulty elements, the reconfiguration problem is to find a maximum-sized fault-free sub-array under the row and column rerouting scheme. This problem has already been shown to be NP-complete. In this paper, new techniques are proposed, based on heuristic strategy, to minimize the number of switches required for the power efficient sub-array. Our algorithm shows that notable improvements in the reduction of the number of long interconnects could be realized in linear time and without sacrificing on the size of the sub-array. Simulations based on several random and clustered fault scenarios clearly reveal the superiority of the proposed techniques.

A resilience-incorporated risk assessment framework is proposed and demonstrated in this study to manifest the advantageous seismic resilience of precast concrete frame(PCF)structures with“dry”connections in terms of their low damage and rapid *** framework integrates various uncertainties in the seismic hazard,fragility,capacity,demand,loss functions,and post-earthquake *** this study,the PCF structures are distinguished from ordinary reinforced concrete frame(RCF)structures by characterizing multiple limit states for the PCF based on its unique damage ***,probabilistic story-wise pushover analyses are performed to yield story-wise capacities for the predefined limit *** the seismic resilience analysis,a step-wise recovery model is proposed to idealize the functionality recovery process,with separate considerations of the repair and non-repair *** recovery model leverages the economic loss and downtime to delineate the stochastic post-earthquake recovery curves for the resilience loss *** such,contingencies in the probabilistic post-earthquake repairs are incorporated and the empirical judgments on the recovery parameters are largely *** proposed framework is demonstrated through a comparative study between two“dry”connected PCFs and one RCF designed as alternative structural systems for a prototype *** results from the risk quantification indicate that the PCFs show reduced loss hazards and lower expected losses relative to the ***,the PCF equipped with energy dissipation devices at the“dry”connections largely reduces the expected economic loss,downtime,and resilience loss by 29%,56%,and 60%,respectively,compared to the RCF.

Heavy metal(Cu,Mn,Zn,Pb,and Cd)concentrations were measured in the leaves of Sabina chinensis and Platycladus orientalis collected from urban,suburban,and rural sites in Tianjin,*** pigment contents,reactive oxygen species content,malondialdehyde(MDA)content and antioxidant enzyme activity were investigated,providing physiological response *** comparison of the sites revealed that urbanization significantly influenced the heavy metal concentrations in both plant *** the rural site,both plant leaves exhibited the lowest heavy metal *** highest Cu,Mn,and Zn concentrations were found in *** leaves from the urban site;the highest Pb and Cd concentrations were found in *** leaves from the urban *** results indicate that the urban site contained larger heavy metal concentrations in the plant leaves that may reflect the anthropogenic emission *** is also found that *** may be used to monitor airborne heavy metal pollution because it is highly quick response to heavy metals,while *** may be used for mitigation due to its high *** results of this study can contribute to the development of monitoring and environmental management plans by providing information on sensitive and resistant tree species for city greening in North China.

In seismology and earthquake engineering,it is fundamental to identify and characterize the pulse-like features in pulse-type ground *** capture the pulses that dominate structural responses,this study establishes congruence and shift relationships between response spectrum surfaces.A similarity search between spectrum surfaces,supplemented with a similarity search in time series,has been applied to characterize the pulse-like features in pulse-type ground *** identified pulses are tested in predicting the rocking consequences of slender rectangular blocks under the original ground ***,the prediction is promising for the majority of the ground motions where the dominant pulse is correctly identified.
