Application of the Guiding Template Designed by Three-dimensional Printing Data for the Insertion of Sacroiliac Screws:a New Clinical Technique

This study is aimed to explore the clinical application of the guiding template designed by three-dimensional printing data for the insertion of sacroiliac screws.A retrospective study of 7 cases (from July 2016 to December 2016),in which the guiding template printed by the three-dimensional printing technique was used for the insertion of sacroiliac screws of patients with posterior ring injuries of pelvis,was ***,4 males and 3 females were included in template group,aged from 38to 65years old (mean 50.86±8.90).Of them,5 had sacral fractures (3 with Denis type Ⅰ and 2 with type Ⅱ)and 2 the separation of sacroiliac *** templates were firstly made by the three-dimensional printing technique based on the pre-operative CT data. Surgical operations for the stabilization of pelvic ring by applying the guiding templates were carried out.A group of 8 patients with sacroiliac injuries treated by percutaneous sacroiliac screws were analyzed as a control group *** time of each screw insertion,volume of intra-operative blood loss,and the exposure to X ray were analyzed and the Matta's radiological criteria were used to evaluate the reduction *** Majeed score was used to evaluate postoperative living *** visual analogue scale (VAS)was applied at different time points to judge pain relief of *** the 7 patients in the template group were closely followed up radiographically and clinically for 14 to 20 months,mean (16.57±2.44)*** 9 sacroiliac screws for the S 1 and S2 vertebra were inserted in the 7 *** time length for each screw insertion ranged from 450 to 870 s,mean (690.56±135.68)s,and the number of times of exposure to X ray were 4 to 8,mean (5.78±1.20).The intra-operative blood loss ranged from 45to 120 mL,mean (75±23.32)*** to Matta's radiology criteria,the fracture and dislocation reduction were excellent in 6cases and good in *** pre-operative VAS score ranged from 5.2 to 8.1

Genome-wide identification and analysis of sulfatase and sulfatase modifying factor genes in Bemisia tabaci (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae)

The invasive pest whitefly(Bemisia tabaci)is a complex species,of which Middle East-Minor Asia 1(MEAM1)and Mediterranean(MED)are the two most damaging *** research showed that cabbage is frequently infested with MEAM1 but seldomly with MED,and this difference in performance is associated with glucosi-nolate(GS)*** insects can modify GS using glucosinolate sulfatase(SULF),the activity of which is regulated by sulfatase modifying factor 1(SUMF1);therefore,to increase our understanding of different performances of MEAM1 and MED on cabbage plants,we identified and compared nine putative SULFs and one SUMF in MEAM1 and *** found that the lengths of two genes,BtSulf2 and BtSulf4,differed between MEAM1 and *** messenger RNA levels of BtSulf4 increased more than 20-fold after MEAMl and MED adults were exposed to GS,but BtSulJ2 expression was only induced by GS in *** of BtSulf2 and BtSulf4 in MEAM1 resulted in a substantial increase in the mortality of GS-treated adults but not in *** results indicate that differences in BtSulJ2 and BtSulf4 sequences and/or expression may explain why MEAM1 performs better than MED on *** results provide a basis for future functional research on SULF and SUMF in ***.

Excess dietary cholesterol may have an adverse effect on growth performance of early post-larval Litopenaeus vannamei

One experiment was conducted to determine the nutritive value of cholesterol for post-larval shrimp, Litopenaeus vannameL Four isoenergetic and isonitrogenous diets supplemented with four levels of cholesterol （D1, D2, D3 and D4 with 0, 0.5%, 1% and 2% cholesterol, respectively） were fed to triplicate groups of L. vannamei shrimp （mean initial wet weight 0.8 mg） for 27 days. After the trial, shrimp fed the D1 diet had the best growth performance （final body weights： FBW; weight gain： WG; specific growth rate： SGR）, while there was no significant difference between diet treatments with respect to survival. The whole body crude protein level in the shrimp decreased with the increase in dietary cholesterol levels, while the whole body crude lipid level in shrimps in the D4 diet treatment was significantly higher （P 〈 0.05） than in other diet treatments. Dietary analysis indicated that the D1 diet contained 0.92% cholesterol prior to supplementation, which may have satisfied the dietary cholesterol requirement of post-larval L. vannamei; excess dietary cholesterol may thus lead to adverse effects on the growth performance of post-larval shrimp.

Humulus lupulus L. Extract Prevents Ovariectomy-Induced Osteoporosis in Mice and Regulates Activities of Osteoblasts and Osteoclasts

Objective:To systematically evaluate the protective effects of Humulus lupulus ***(HLE)on osteoporosis ***:In vivo experiment,a total of 3512-week-old female ICR mice were equally divided into 5 groups:the sham control group(sham);the ovariectomy with vehicle group(OVX);the OVX with estradiol valerate[EV,0.2 mg/(kg·d)];the OVX with low-or high-dose HLE groups[HLE,1 g/(kg·d)and 3 g/(kg·d)],7 in each *** began 1 week after the ovariectomized surgery and lasted for 12 *** mass and trabecular bone mircoarchitecture were evaluated by micro computed tomography,and bone turnover markers in serum were evaluated using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)*** vitro experiment,osteoblasts and osteoclasts were treated with HLE at doses of 0,4,20 and 100μg/*** for bone formation in osteoblasts and bone resorption in osteoclasts were ***:Compared with the OVX group,HLE exerted bone protective effects by the increase of estradiol(P<0.05),the improvement of cancellous bone structure,bone mineral density(P<0.01)and the reduction of serum alkaline phosphatase(ALP),tartrate resistant acid phosphatase(TRAP),bone gla-protein,c-terminal telopeptides of typeⅠcollagen(CTX-Ⅰ)and deoxypyridinoline levels(P<0.01 for all).In vitro experiment,compared with the control group,HLE at 20μg/mL promoted the cell proliferation(P<0.01),and increased the expression of bone morphogenetic protein-2 and osteopontin levels in osteoblasts(both P<0.05).HLE at 100μg/mL increased the osteoblastic ALP activities,and HLE at all dose enhanced the extracellular matrix mineralization(both P<0.01).Furthermore,compared with the control group,HLE at 20μg/m L and 100μg/m L inhibited osteoclastic TRAP activity(P<0.01),and reduced the expression of matrix metalloproteinase-9 and cathepsin K(both P<0.05).Conclusion:HLE may protect against bone loss,and have potentials in the treatment of osteoporosis.

Ocular bacterial infections at a tertiary eye center in China: a 5-year review of pathogen distribution and antibiotic sensitivity

AIM: To provide statistical evidence for the use of antibiotics in ophthalmology by assessing the distribution and antibiotic sensitivity of bacterial isolates from ocular specimens with suspected microbial ***: This study applied a retrospective analysis of 3690 bacterial isolates from ocular specimens, which were obtained from the conjunctiva, cornea, aqueous humor, vitreous body, and other ocular sites of the patients at Shandong Eye Institute in northern China from January 2013 to December 2017. The parameters assessed mainly included the distribution of isolated bacteria and the results of susceptibility tests for antibiotics. In the analysis of antibiotic sensitivities, the bacteria were divided into four groups according to gram staining, and statistical methods were used to compare their antibiotic sensitivities. RESULTS: Among the 3690 isolated bacterial strains, Staphylococcus epidermidis(2007, 54.39%) accounted for the highest proportion. As for the total isolates, their sensitivity rate to gatifloxacin was up to 90.01%, with four types of gram-stained bacteria being all highly sensitive to it, but their sensitivity rate to levofloxacin was only 51.91%. The sensitivity rate of gram-negative bacilli(G-B) to levofloxacin was 83.66%, significantly higher than the other three types of gram-stained bacteria(P<0.05). Gram-positive cocci (G+C, 97.95%) and gram-positive bacilli(G+B, 97.54%) were more sensitive to vancomycin than gram-negative cocci(G-C, 70.59%) and G-B(68.57%;P<0.05). For fusidic acid, the sensitivity rates of G+C(89.83%) and G+B(73.37%) were significantly higher than that of G-B(29.83%;P<0.05). The gram-negative bacteria's sensitivity rate to cefuroxime was as low as 59.25%, but only G-B was less sensitive to cefuroxime(57.28%), while G-C was still highly sensitive(89.29%). The sensitivity rate of gram-positive bacteria to moxifloxacin was as high as 80.28%, but only G+C was highly sensitive to moxifloxacin(81.21%), while G+B was

IFITM3 inhibits virus-triggered induction of type I interferon by mediating autophagosome-dependent degradation of IRF3

Interferon-induced transmembrane protein 3 (IFITM3) is a restriction factor that can be induced by viral infectionand interferons (IFNs). It inhibits the entry and replication of many viruses, which are independent of receptorusage but dependent on processes that occur in endosomes. In this study, we demonstrate that IFITM3 playsimportant roles in regulating the RNA-virus-triggered production of IFN-β in a negative-feedback *** of IFITM3 inhibited Sendai virus-triggered induction of IFN-β, whereas knockdown of IFITM3 hadthe opposite effect. We also showed that IFITM3 was constitutively associated with IRF3 and regulated thehomeostasis of IRF3 by mediating the autophagic degradation of IRF3. These findings suggest a novel inhibitoryfunction of IFITM3 on the RNA-virus-triggered production of type I IFNs and cellular antiviral responses.

Analysis on hydrochemical characteristics of groundwater in strongly exploited area in Hutuo River Plain

The Hutuo River alluvial-proluvial fan is located in North China Plain, and groundwater is the main source of water supply for agriculture and domestic water. Shijiazhuang depression funnels due to the long-term excessive exploitation are the bottleneck of the regional economic development. Analyzing the chemical characteristics of groundwater under the condition of strong human activities, can provide a scientific basis for further study of strong groundwater mining area environmental change. 143 groups of shallow groundwater samples are collected during the period of 2007-2008. In this paper, the hydrochemical characteristics of groundwater in the Hutuo River Plain area are analyzed systematically, using hydrogeochemical theory, combined with statistical methods and hydrochemical methods. Results are shown as follows: HCO_3^- and Ca^(2+) are major anion and cation. The variation coefficients of K^+, Ca^(2+), Mg^(2+) and HCO_3^- between 0.25 and 0.52, which means small and stable relatively. The variation coefficient of are Na^+, NO_3^-, Cl-, SO2-4 were large(0.89-1.01). They are sensitive and vulnerable to environmental change affect. Due to the impact of human activities, from the top to the edge of the alluvial-proluvial fan, the hydrochemical types of groundwater change from single to multiple, followed by HCO_3^-Ca·Mg, HCO_3·SO_4-Ca·Mg, HCO_3·SO_4·Cl-Ca·Mg, HCO_3·Cl-Ca·Mg and other types.
