Vertically aligned reduced graphene oxide/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)MXene hybrid hydrogel for highly efficient solar steam generation

Effective utilization of abundant solar energy for desalination of seawater and purification of wastewater is one of sustainable techniques for production of clean water,helping relieve global water resource ***,we fabricate a vertically aligned reduced graphene oxide/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)MXene(A-RGO/MX)hybrid hydrogel with aligned channels as an independent solar steam generation device for highly efficient solar steam *** vertically aligned channels,generated by a liquid nitrogen-assisted directional-freezing process,not only rapidly transport water upward to the evaporation surface for efficient solar steam generation,but also facilitate multiple reflections of solar light inside the channels for efficient solar light *** deliberate slight reduction endows the RGO with plenty of polar groups,decreasing the water vaporization enthalpy effectively and hence accelerating water evaporation *** MXene sheets,infiltrated inside the A-RGO hydrogel on the basis of Marangoni effect,enhance light absorption capacity and photothermal conversion *** a result,the A-RGO/MX hybrid hydrogel achieves a water evaporation rate of 2.09 kg·m^(−2)·h^(−1)with a high conversion efficiency of 93.5%under 1-sun ***,this photothermal conversion hydrogel rapidly desalinates seawater and purifies wastewater to generate clean water with outstanding ion rejection rates of above 99%for most ions.

Total dynamics of an airship is modeled. The body of an airship is taken as a submerged rigid body with neutral buoyancy, i. e. , buoyancy with value equal to that of gravity, and the coupled dynamics between the body with ballonets and ballast is considered. The total dynamics of the airship is firstly derived by Newton-Euler laws and Kirchhoff＇ s equations. Furthermore, by using Hamiltonian and Lagrangian semidirect product reduction theories, the dynamics is formulated as a lie-Poisson system, or also an Euler-Poincare system. These two formulations can be exploited for the control design using energy-based methods for Hamiltonian or Lagrangian system.

Manufacturing process and microstructure of copper-coated aluminum wires

Copper-coated aluminum wires exhibit good electrical conductivity, high thermal conductivity, low contact resistance of copper and low density, and provide economic advantages over aluminum. However, there are some problems in the manufacring processes of hot-dip copper-coated aluminum wires, such as the difficulties in controlling coating process. In this work, the hot-dip copper-coating method of aluminum wires was investigated for producing copper-coated aluminum wire composites. The interface microstructure between the aluminum wire and the copper coating layer was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy （SEM） and energy-dispersive X-ray spec- trometry （EDS）. Five different fluxing agents were tested. Experimental results show that appropriate conditions for the hot-dip process are determined as the liquid copper temperature of 1085℃ and the treatment time less than 1 s. A success in hot-dip copper-coated aluminum wires is achieved by hot-dipping a low-melting-point metal into a high-melting-point metal liquid, which is significant for the further devel- opment and application of copper-coated aluminum wire composites.

Effect of CacO_(3) on volatilization of self-reduced zinc from blast furnace dust

To solve the problem of low reduction extraction rate of zinc from blast furnace dust,the effects of CacO3 addition,reduction temperature,and reduction time on self-reduction zinc extraction were studied through high-temperature reduction experiment,and the mechanism of how CaCO_(3) addition promotes zinc ferrite reduction was *** zinc removal rate can reach 98.82%when the blast furnace dust is reduced at 1000℃ for 25 min by adding 10 mass%CaCO_(3).At low temperature,CaCO_(3) can enhance the reduction and decomposition of ZnFe_(2)O_(4)(which is difficult to reduce)into ZnO and low-valent iron *** CaCO_(3) is decomposed at high temperature,CO_(2) is produced to undergo gasification reaction with carbon in blast furnace dust,and co is generated to provide more reducing agents for the whole reduction *** generated by decomposition can also catalyze the gasification reaction of carbon,thus improving the removal rate of zinc in the reduction process of dust.

Effects of Isothermal Aging on Microstructure and Mechanical Property of Low-Carbon RAFM Steel

In order to investigate the microstructure and mechanical property evolution of low-carbon reduced activation ferritic/martensitic(RAFM)steel during isothermal aging,the normalized and tempered specimens were aged at 600℃for 500,1000,and 3000 h,*** microstructural evolution with aging time was analyzed,including the precipitation and growth of M23C6 and MX-type carbides as well as the formation of Laves *** results indicate that the coarsening of M23C6 is more obvious than that of MX with increase in aging *** the long-term thermal exposure,the Fe2 W Laves phase precipitates adjacent to M23C6 along the prior austenite grain boundaries and packet *** carbon content can delay the precipitation of Laves phase compared to the steel containing higher *** addition,the Laves phase precipitated along boundaries can provide the precipitation strengthening,slightly increasing the tensile strength of low-carbon RAFM steel after aging for 3000 h.

Strain engineering the D-band center for Janus MoSSe edge: Nitrogen fixation

Nitrogen fixation is one of the most important and challenging process in production of ammonia at ambient temperature. We have first performed density function theory to propose the edge of Janus MoSSe(EJM) monolayer as a potential catalyst for nitrogen reduction reaction. Our results show that the superficial D-band centers play an important role in nitrogen fixation. The strain effects greatly alter the D-band center, and further change the interaction between the adsorbates and the surface of *** findings provide a new thought into designing transition-metal chalcogenide catalysts for nitrogen fixation.

On-Farm Assessment of Biosolids Effects on Nitrogen and Phosphorus Accumulation in Soils

A field plot experiment in a calcareous soil with wheat and maize rotation was carried out for 2 yr. The study aimed to investigate the effects of biosolids （sewage sludge or chicken manure） application on nitrogen （N） and phosphorus （P） accumulation in soils and to develop a model for the effects of biosolids application on available P （Olsen-P） accumulation in soils, by which the quantities of biosolids that can be safely applied to agricultural soils were estimated. The results showed that heavy application of biosolids to agricultural soils based on the N requirement of a wheat-maize rotation cropping system will oversupply P. Soil total N was increased by 0.010 g kg-1 at application rate of 1 ton sewage sludge per hectare. The high ratio of N to P in grains of wheat and maize （from 4.0 to 7.6） and low ratio of N to P in biosolids （〈2） led to more surplus P accumulated in soils. Although plant yields and P uptake by plants increased with increasing quantities of applied biosolids in soils, there was still an average 2.87 mg kg-1 increase in Olsen-P in the plough layer treated with biosolids for every 100 kg P ha-1 surplus. A predictive model was developed based upon the initial Olsen-P in soils, P input rates, crop yield, soil pH, and cultivation time. From the model, it is suggested that sewage sludge could be applied to calcareous soils for 12 yr using the recommended application rate （9 tons ha-1 yr-1）. The field results will be helpful in achieving best management of biosolids application for agricultural production and environmental protection.

Enhanced catalytic oxidation of 2,4-dichlorophenol via singlet oxygen dominated peroxymonosulfate activation on CoOOH@Bi_(2)O_(3)composite

Cobalt oxyhydroxide(CoOOH)has been turned out to be a high-efficiency catalyst for peroxymonosulfate(PMS)*** this study,CoOOH was loaded on bismuth oxide(Bi_(2)O_(3))using a facile chemical precipitation process to improve its catalytic activity and *** result showed that the catalytic performance on the 2,4-dichlorophenol(2,4-DCP)degradation was significantly enhanced with only 11 wt%Bi_(2)O_(3)*** degradation rate in the CoOOH@Bi_(2)O_(3)/PMS system(0.2011 min−1)was nearly 6.0 times higher than that in the CoOOH/PMS system(0.0337 min−1).Furthermore,CoOOH@Bi_(2)O_(3)displayed better stability with less Co ions leaching(16.4%lower than CoOOH)in the PMS *** phenomena were attributed to the Bi_(2)O_(3)loading which significantly increased the conductivity and specific surface area of the CoOOH@Bi_(2)O_(3)*** electron transfer facilitated the redox reaction of Co(III)/Co(II)and thus was more favorable for reactive oxygen species(ROS)***,larger specific surface area furnished more active sites for PMS *** importantly,there were both non-radical(^(1)O_(2))and radicals(SO_(4)^(−)•,O_(2)^(−)•,and OH•)in the CoOOH@Bi_(2)O_(3)/PMS system and^(1)O_(2)was the dominant *** general,this study provided a simple and practical strategy to enhance the catalytic activity and stability of cobalt oxyhydroxide in the PMS system.

Electrochemical performance of liNi_(0.5)Mn_(0.5)O_2 with different synthesis methods

li Ni0.5Mn0.5O2 as a cathode material for li-ion battery was prepared by the metal acetate decomposition method, sol–gel method, and carbonate co-precipitation method, respectively. The influences of synthesis methods on the physical and electrochemical behaviors of li Ni0.5Mn0.5O2 were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and electrochemical tests. XRD patterns show that both the sol–gel and carbonate co-precipitation methods can form single phase of layered structure, while a trace of Ni O impurity is observed via the metal acetate decomposition method. SEM results show the as-prepared carbonate particle has a spherical morphology with an average diameter of 10 lm, consisted of primary nano-sized particles with particle diameter of200 nm. The sample prepared by the carbonate co-precipitation method exhibits the highest discharge specific capacity and the best cycling stability, which results from the steady homogeneity of precursor constant by the fixation of CO2-3group. It can deliver an initial discharge specific capacity of 186.3 m Ahág-1, and retain 170 m Ahág-1after100 cycles at a current rate of 20 m Aág-1in the voltage range of 2.5–4.7 V at 25 °C. Moreover, even at the high temperature of 55 °C, it still delivers a reversible specific capacity of 222.6 m Ahág-1with little capacity loss after 30 cycles.
