The size complementarity between a host and a guest is a critical prerequisite for selective molecular recognition. Numerous artificial host systems have been designed to achieve size-selective recognition and chemical transformations. However, the inherent challenge lies in the fixed selectivity governed by a size-exclusion mechanism dictated by the host’s *** the selectivity necessitates structural modifications of hosts. Examples of host systems with modifiable sizeselectivity are rare. In this study, we present an approach to modulating guest-selectivity via endo-functionalization of supramolecular cavities. Heteroleptic Pd2A3B-cages are constructed with a Pd2A3precursor or directly from palladium ions and relevant ligands. Furthermore, the simultaneous and selective formation of multiple hetero-cages was achieved by simply mixing PdIIand the free ligands in a one-pot reaction. The fidelity of the assembly process relies on cooperative steric control at the periphery and within the cavity of the hetero-cages, respectively. The central steric group also functions as the endohedral moiety. Variations of the endohedral groups facilitate facile and modular derivatization of the microenvironment within the cages, enabling the fine-tuning of guest binding affinities as evidenced by titration experiments. This strategy offers a new solution for the development of customized host structures.

Understanding the paleoenvironment and phytogeographical history of the Tibetan Plateau,China relies on discovering new plant *** Qaidam Basin has long been regarded as an ideal‘field laboratory’to investigate the paleoclimate and paleobiological evolution of the northern Tibetan ***,fossil angiosperms from the Qaidam Basin are rare,and our knowledge of its paleovegetation is ***,we report fossil leaves and fruits of Betulaceae found from the Oligocene Shangganchaigou Formation of northwestern Qaidam Basin(Huatugou area).Comparative morphological analysis led us to assign the fruits to the Betula subgenus Betula and the leaves to Carpinus *** findings,together with other reported fossil plants from the same locality,reveal a close floristic linkage between the Qaidam Basin and Europe during the *** northern pathway of this floristic exchange may have crossed through the Qaidam Basin during the late *** floristic linkage may have been facilitated by the continuous narrowing of the Turgai Strait and stronger westerlies,which transported moisture and provided favorable climatic ***,fossil plants collected from the Qaidam Basin suggest that during the Oligocene this region had warm and humid deciduous broad-leaf forest,which differs from the region’s modern vegetation and indicates that the Qaidam Basin may have been a suitable region for these plants to flourish and spread during the Oligocene.

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Qingchang suppository(清肠栓,QCS),a preparation of Chinese herbal medicine,in the induction of remission in patients with mild-to-moderate ulcerative proctitis(UP).METHODS:We performed a multicenter,prospective,randomized,parallel-controlled trial to evaluate the efficacy of QCS induction therapy in 140 adult patients with mild-to-moderate UP and TCM syndrome of dampness-heat in large *** patients were randomized to receive QCS(study group)or Salicylazosulfapyridine(SASP)suppository(control group)one piece each time,twice a day,per anum for 12 *** score and main symptoms score were evaluated at weeks 0,2,4,8 and 12,rectosigmoidscopy was taken at weeks 0,4,8 and 12,Geboes score,erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR),C-reactive protein(CRP)and safety indexes were assessed at weeks 0 and *** primary efficacy endpoint is clinical remission rate,the secondary efficacy endpoints are clinical response rate,mucosa healing rate,Geboes score,the remission rates of the main symptoms,the median day to the remission of the symptom,***:There were no statistical difference in the clinical remission rates,the clinical response rates,the mucosa healing rates,Geboes score,ESR and CRP between the two *** remission rates of tenesmus and anal burning sensation of the study group were significantly higher than those of the control group(76.5%vs 25.0%,P=0.009;74.51%vs 29.63%,P=0.003).The median day to the remission of purulent bloody stool of the study group was significantly less than that of control group[11(1,64)vs 19(2,67),P=0.007].The patients receiving QCS had a significantly higher mucosa healing rate at week 4 than the patients receiving SASP suppository(71.42%vs 52.85%,P=0.023).No adverse event occurred in the study group while the adverse events incidence of the control group was 5.7%(P=0.049).CONCLUSIONS:QCS could induce the remission of UP as effectively and safely as SASP suppository,and was superio
