significant progress has been made in magnesium-based composites during recent decades,especially for the appearance of magnesium matrix composite reinforced by nanoparticles.The nanoparticles added not only exhibit a good strengthening effect,but also maintain the initial toughness of the matrix,effectively balancing the contradiction between the strength and plasticity in the traditional magnesium matrix composites.The magnesium matrix nanocomposites with excellent mechanical properties have pushed the development of magnesium matrix composites to a new stage.However,it is very difficult to disperse the nanoparticles in metal melt especially in magnesium melt which is different from other metal melts and dangerous during the cast processing.This means that the preparation of magnesium matrix nanocomposite is extremely challenging.Further,the magnesium matrix nanocomposites possess a distinctive characteristic in deformation behavior,strengthening and toughening mechanism due to their special size effect of nanoparticles.Accordingly,this review will focus on the new preparation technologies,deformation behavior,mechanical properties and strengthening and toughening mechanisms.The potential applications,development trends and future research ideas of magnesium matrix nanocomposite are also prospected.©2020 Published by Elsevier B.V.on behalf of Chongqing University.

Carbon nanotubes（CNTs） reinforced Mg matrix composites were fabricated by a novel melt processing.The novel processing consisted of two courses：CNTs pre-dispersion and ultrasonic melt processing.Mechanical ball-milling was employed to pre-disperse CNTs on Zinc（Zn） flakes.serious CNT entanglements were well dispersed to single CNT or tiny clusters on Zn flakes.The ultrasonic melt processing further dispersed CNTs in the Mg melt,especially tiny CNT clusters.Thus,a uniform dispersion of CNTs was achieved in the as-cast composites.Hot extrusion further improved the distribution of CNTs.CNTs increased both the strength and elongation of the matrix alloy.Notably,the elongation of the matrix alloy was enhanced by 40%.Grain refinement and the pulling-out of CNTs resulted in the evident improvement of ductility for the composites.

The triboelectric nanogenerator(TENG)can effectively collect energy based on contact electrification(CE)at diverse interfaces,including solid–solid,liquid–solid,liquid–liquid,gas–solid,and gas–liquid.This enables energy harvesting from sources such as water,wind,and sound.In this review,we provide an overview of the coexistence of electron and ion transfer in the CE process.We elucidate the diverse dominant mechanisms observed at different interfaces and emphasize the interconnectedness and complementary nature of interface studies.The review also offers a comprehensive summary of the factors influencing charge transfer and the advancements in interfacial modification techniques.Additionally,we highlight the wide range of applications stemming from the distinctive characteristics of charge transfer at various interfaces.Finally,this review elucidates the future opportunities and challenges that interface CE may encounter.We anticipate that this review can offer valuable insights for future research on interface CE and facilitate the continued development and industrialization of TENG.

In the coal mining industry,the gangue separation phase imposes a key challenge due to the high visual similaritybetween coal and gangue.Recently,separation methods have become more intelligent and efficient,using newtechnologies and applying different features for recognition.One such method exploits the difference in substancedensity,leading to excellent coal/gangue recognition.Therefore,this study uses density differences to distinguishcoal from gangue by performing volume prediction on the samples.Our training samples maintain a record of3-side images as input,volume,and weight as the ground truth for the classification.The prediction process relieson a Convolutional neural network(CGVP-CNN)model that receives an input of a 3-side image and then extractsthe needed features to estimate an approximation for the volume.The classification was comparatively performedvia ten different classifiers,namely,K-Nearest Neighbors(KNN),Linear support Vector Machines(Linear sVM),Radial Basis Function(RBF)sVM,Gaussian Process,Decision Tree,Random Forest,Multi-Layer Perceptron(MLP),Adaptive Boosting(AdaBosst),Naive Bayes,and Quadratic Discriminant Analysis(QDA).After severalexperiments on testing and training data,results yield a classification accuracy of 100%,92%,95%,96%,100%,100%,100%,96%,81%,and 92%,respectively.The test reveals the best timing with KNN,which maintained anaccuracy level of 100%.Assessing themodel generalization capability to newdata is essential to ensure the efficiencyof the model,so by applying a cross-validation experiment,the model generalization was measured.The useddataset was isolated based on the volume values to ensure the model generalization not only on new images of thesame volume but with a volume outside the trained range.Then,the predicted volume values were passed to theclassifiers group,where classification reported accuracy was found to be(100%,100%,100%,98%,88%,87%,100%,87%,97%,100%),respectively.Although obtaining a classification with high accuracy is the main motive,this workhas a re

In this paper,a distributed cooperative control protocol is presented to deal with actuator failures of multi-agent systems in the presence of connectivity preservation.With the developed strategy,each agent can track the reference trajectory of the leader in the presence of actuator failures,disturbances and uncertainties.The connectivity of the multi-agent system can always be ensured during the control process.To achieve the aforementioned control objectives,a potential function is introduced to the distributed adaptive fault-tolerant control algorithm to preserve the initial connected network among the agents.The uncertainty of the multi-agent system,which is allowed to be described by discontinuous functions,is approximated and compensated using the fuzzy logic system.The asymptotic stability of the closed-loop system is demonstrated through the use of Cellina’s approximate selection theorem of nonsmooth analysis.Due to the developed adaptive laws,the upper bound of the disturbance is allowed to be uncertain,which facilitates the implementation of the control scheme.Finally,simulation results are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

H7N9 subtype avian influenza virus poses a great challenge for poultry industry.Newcastle disease virus(NDV)-vectored H7N9 avian influenza vaccines(NDV_(vec)H7N9)are effective in disease control because they are protective and allow mass administration.Of note,these vaccines elicit undetectable H7N9-specific hemagglutination-inhibition(HI)but high IgG antibodies in chickens.However,the molecular basis and protective mechanism underlying this particular antibody immunity remain unclear.Herein,immunization with an NDV_(vec)H7N9 induced low anti-H7N9 HI and virus neutralization titers but high levels of hemagglutinin(HA)-binding IgG antibodies in chickens.Three residues(s150,G151 and s152)in HA of H7N9 virus were identified as the dominant epitopes recognized by the NDV_(vec)H7N9 immune serum.Passively transferred NDV_(vec)H7N9 immune serum conferred complete protection against H7N9 virus infection in chickens.The NDV_(vec)H7N9 immune serum can mediate a potent lysis of HA-expressing and H7N9 virus-infected cells and significantly suppress H7N9 virus infectivity.These activities of the serum were significantly impaired after heat-inactivation or treatment with complement inhibitor,suggesting the engagement of the complement system.Moreover,mutations in the 150-sGs-152 sites in HA resulted in significant reductions in cell lysis and virus neutralization mediated by the NDV_(vec)H7N9 immune serum,indicating the requirement of antibody-antigen binding for complement activity.Therefore,antibodies induced by the NDV_(vec)H7N9 can activate antibody-dependent complement-mediated lysis of H7N9 virus-infected cells and complement-mediated neutralization of H7N9 virus.Our findings unveiled a novel role of the complement in protection conferred by the NDV_(vec)H7N9,highlighting a potential benefit of engaging the complement system in H7N9 vaccine design.

The onset of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is usually characterized by focal death of both upper and/or lower motor neurons occurring in the motor cortex,basal ganglia,brainstem,and spinal cord,and commonly involves the muscles of the upper and/or lower extremities,and the muscles of the bulbar and/or respiratory regions.However,as the disease progresses,it affects the adjacent body regions,leading to generalized muscle weakness,occasionally along with memory,cognitive,behavioral,and language impairments;respiratory dysfunction occurs at the final stage of the disease.The disease has a complicated pathophysiology and currently,only riluzole,edaravone,and phenylbutyrate/taurursodiol are licensed to treat amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in many industrialized countries.The TAR DNA-binding protein 43 inclusions are observed in 97%of those diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.This review provides a preliminary overview of the potential effects of TAR DNAbinding protein 43 in the pathogenesis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis,including the abnormalities in nucleoplasmic transport,RNA function,post-translational modification,liquid-liquid phase separation,stress granules,mitochondrial dysfunction,oxidative stress,axonal transport,protein quality control system,and non-cellular autonomous functions(e.g.,glial cell functions and prion-like propagation).

The leakage of liquid electrolyte and the formation of lithium dendrites pose challenges to safety and stability of lithium metal batteries(LMBs).The appearance of gel polymer electrolyte(GPE)has obviously improved the safety of traditional LMBs.However,the limited inhibition of GPE on lithium dendrites is detrimental to the safety of LMBs.Herein,a kind of poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene)(PVDF-HFP)/gelatin(GN)GPE with high ionic conductivity,high-temperature resistance,and flame-retardancy,was prepared by electrospinning and soaking method.Utilizing the electrospinning network of PVDF-HFP,its affinity to liquid electrolytes,makes this GPE more beneficial to ions transport and the formation of gel.And,the GN with sol–gel properties,enhances the mechanical property(13.5 MPa)of HFP-GN GPE.Meanwhile,x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(xPs)and density functional theory(DFT)suggest that the attraction of polar groups of GN to Li+can regulate the distribution of Li+and protect Li anodes.Consequently,the application of HFP-GN GPEs to LMBs with cathodes of LiFePO_(4) and LiCoO_(2) deliver excellent electrochemical performances:after 300 cycles,the LiFePO_(4)/HFP-GN GPE/Li battery keeps a low capacity decay rate of 0.09%at 5 C;after 400 cycles at 2 C,the LiCoO_(2)/HFP-GN GPE/Li cell retains a high capacity retention of 74%.This GPE is demonstrated for the application prospect of safe LMBs.
