First-Principles Study of the Influence of Lattice Misfit on the Behavior and the Ductility Effect of Hafnium in Ni-Ni3AI System

Two Ni/Ni3Al-interface-contained cluster models with/without lattice misfit are studied by first-principles method to clarify the debates about the segregation behaviors of Hafnium （Hf） and ex.lore the influence of lattice misfit on the ductility effect of Hr. It is found that though Hf prefers to substitute A1 rather than Ni in Ni3A1 phase within most of the investigated misfit range, its stronger preferring to Ni phase than NiaA1 phase makes it impossible to go into Ni3A1 phase to occupy A1 site in Ni-Ni3A1 alloys. Bond order analysis in Hf-free case shows that lattice misfit has different effects on the Griffith work of interfacial cleavage 27int/E and the max.mum theoretical shear stress Zmax.of Ni and Ni3A1, contributing to the ex.stence of anomalous strength-temperature phenomena in NiaA1 alloys. However, the addition of Hf will make the 27int/E （or Zmax. of both Ni3A1 and Ni decrease （or increase） with lattice misfit, indicating that the addition of Hf may make the anomalous strength-temperature relationship in Ni3A1 region disappear locally.

This paper elucidates the interactive buckling behaviors of an inflated envelope under coupled mechanical and thermal loads, especially the longitudinal wrinkling bifurcation and hoop ovalization buckling. The longitudinal bending buckling process of the inflated envelope can be divided into three continuous stages, which are global buckling, interactive global-local buckling, and kink. A variety of hoop ovalization buckling modes are observed under coupled mechanical-thermal load. Unlike the mechanical case, thermal load leads to a hoop negative ovalization buckling. In addition, it can accelerate the longitudinal coupled bifurcation and resist the hoop coupled ovalization buckling. Moreover, the bending resistance of the inflated envelope will be improved when the length of the structure is increased, resulting in the difficulty of it to become wrinkled. These results provide a new insight into the buckling behaviors of an inflated envelope under coupled ex.ernal loads, and give a reference for the design of the inflated envelope.

Chemical delithiated Lix.oO2 （x.1, 0.7, 0.66 and 0.57） has been synthesized by using a strong ox.dant, NaS2O8 .The structure investigations indicate that all the samples remain with hex.gonal cells, which have ex.ansion of c ax.s during Li ex.raction. Transmission electron microscopy （TEM） observations revealed the presence of superstructures arising from intercalated U-ordering corresponding to first-principle calculations. The measurements of the physical properties are also influenced by Li concentration.

Chromatin immunoprecipitation coupled with massive parallel sequencing （ChlP-seq） is a powerful technology to identify the genome-wide locations of DNA binding proteins such as transcription factors or modified histones. As more and more ex.erimental laboratories are adopting ChlP-seq to unravel the transcriptional and epigenetic regulatory mechanisms, computational analyses of ChlP-seq also become increasingly comprehensive and sophisticated. In this article, we review current computational methodology for ChlP-seq analysis, recommend useful algorithms and workflows, and introduce quality control measures at different analytical steps. We also discuss how ChlP-seq could be integrated with other types of genomic assays, such as gene ex.ression profiling and genome-wide association studies, to provide a more comprehensive view of gene regulatory mechanisms in important physiological and pathological processes.

The plasticity map of 304HC stainless steel was determined by using tensile and compressive test. The effect of Cu on the hot plasticity of 304HC stainless steel was analyzed. The microstructure, inclusion and fracture surface were studied by using the method of optical microscopy, SEM, EDS and EPMA. The results showed that Cu has effect on the hot plasticity and the hot plasticity of 304HC stainless steel decrease with the increase of Cu content. The deformation temperature also has much effect on the hot plasticity, the suitable deformation temperature are 1100-1200℃. The reason is that the brittle compounds were precipitated from austenite during cooling. These brittle compounds are Cu2S, Cu2O and PbCI etc.

Novel Gluten-Free Amaranth and Oat Flour Cookies Fortified with Soybean Hulls

Soybean hulls, an abundant byproduct of soybean processing, contain rich phytochemicals, fibers, proteins, and minerals. Currently soybean hulls are primarily used as animal feeds. For value-added soybean hull utilization, 25% soybean hulls were substituted for amaranth or whole oat flour (WOF) in novel gluten-free cookies. Composition, nutritional values, water-holding capacities, correlation between properties, and pasting and rheological properties of soybean hulls, amaranth, and WOF were appraised in comparison to wheat flour. Water loss, cookie tex.ure, and geometrical properties of the cookies were ex.mined. The results disclosed that soybean hulls, amaranth and WOF contain higher protein content, minerals, fiber, special amino acids, and critical vitamins (C and K) than wheat flour. Considerably higher total amino acid content was found in soybean hulls (18.33%) than wheat flour (12.77%). Water-holding capacities increased by replacing amaranth and WOF with soybean hulls. Soybean hulls ex.ibited higher rheological elastic properties than amaranth, WOF and wheat flours. The soybean hulls utilized in amaranth or WOF cookies greatly improved their nutritional value, the water retention and moisture content along with acceptable physical properties when compared to wheat flour cookies. This study ex.lored the feasibility and potential of utilizing soybean hulls with amaranth and WOF in gluten-free bakery products and other food applications.

While previous studies have shown that histone modifications could influence plant growth and devel- opment by regulating gene transcription, knowledge about the relationships between these modifications and gene ex.ression is still limited. This study used chromatin immunoprecipitation followed by high-throughput sequencing （ChlP-Seq）, to investigate the genome-wide distribution of four histone modifications： di and trimethylation of H3K4 （H3K4me2 and H3K4me3） and acylation of H3K9 and H3K27 （H3K9ac and H3K27ac） in Oryza sativa L. japonica. By analyz- ing published DNase-Seq data, this study ex.lored DNase-Hypersensitive （DH） sites along the rice genome. The histone marks appeared mainly in generic regions and were enriched around the transcription start sites （TSSs） of genes. This analysis demonstrated that the four histone modifications and the DH sites were all associated with active transcription. Furthermore, the four histone modifications were highly concurrent with transcript regions-a promising feature that was used to predict missing genes in the rice gene annotation. The predictions were further validated by ex.erimentally confirming the transcription of two predicted missing genes. Moreover, a sequence motif analysis was constructed in order to identify the DH sites and many putative transcription factor binding sites.
