Anneal-free ultra-low loss silicon nitride integrated photonics

Heterogeneous and monolithic integration of the versatile low-loss silicon nitride platform with low-temperature materials such as silicon electronics and photonics,III–V compound semiconductors,lithium niobate,organics,and glasses has been inhibited by the need for high-temperature annealing as well as the need for different process flows for thin and thick *** techniques are needed to maintain the state-of-the-art losses,nonlinear properties,and CMOS-compatible processes while enabling this nex. generation of 3D silicon nitride *** report a significant advance in silicon nitride integrated photonics,demonstrating the lowest losses to date for an anneal-free process at a max.mum temperature 250℃,with the same deuterated silane based fabrication flow,for nitride and ox.de,for an order of magnitude range in nitride thickness without requiring stress mitigation or *** report record low anneal-free losses for both nitride core and ox.de cladding,enabling 1.77 dBm-1 loss and 14.9 million Q for 80 nm nitride core waveguides,more than half an order magnitude lower loss than previously reported sub 300℃ *** 800 nm-thick nitride,we achieve as good as 8.66 dBm-1 loss and 4.03 million Q,the highest reported Q for a low temperature processed resonator with equivalent device area,with a median of loss and Q of 13.9 dBm-1 and 2.59 million each *** demonstrate laser stabilization with over 4 orders of magnitude frequency noise reduction using a thin nitride reference cavity,and using a thick nitride micro-resonator we demonstrate OPO,over two octave supercontinuum generation,and four-wave mix.ng and parametric gain with the lowest reported optical parametric oscillation threshold per unit resonator *** results represent a significant step towards a uniform ultra-low loss silicon nitride homogeneous and heterogeneous platform for both thin and thick waveguides capable of linear and nonlinear photonic circuits and integrat

Chemical characteristics of long-term acid rain and its impact on lake water chemistry:A case study in Southwest China

The chemical composition of acid rain and its impact on lake water chemistry in Chongqing,China,from 2000 to 2020 were studied in this *** regional acid rain intensity is affected jointly by the acid gas emissions and the neutralization of alkaline *** pH of precipitation ex.erienced three stages of fluctuating decline,continuous improvement,and a slight *** pH showed inflection points in 2010,mainly due to the total control actions of SO_(2)and NO_(x.implemented in *** total ion concentrations in rural areas and urban areas were 489.08μeq/l and 618.57μeq/l,*** top four ions were SO_(4)^(2-),Ca^(2+),NH_(4)^(+)and NO_(3)^(-),which accounted for more than 90%of the total ion concentration,indicating the anthropogenic *** 2010,SO_(4)^(2-)fluctuated greatly while NO_(3)^(-)continued to rise;however,after 2010,both SO_(4)^(2-)and NO_(3)^(-)began to decline rapidly,with the rates of-12.03μeq/(l·year)and-4.11μeq/(l·year).Because the decline rate of SO_(4)^(2-)was 2.91 times that of NO_(3)^(-),the regional acid rain has changed from sulfuric acid rain to mix.d sulfuric and nitric acid *** lake water is weakly acidic,with an average pH of 5.86,and the acidification frequency is 30.00%.Acidification of lake water is jointly affected by acid deposition and acid neutralization capacity of lake *** deposition has a profound impact on water acidification,and nitrogen(N)deposition,especially reduced N deposition,should be the focus of future research.

Effect of electrical parameters and slag system on macrostructure of electroslag ingot

To investigate the influence of electric parameters and slag system on the solidification quality of electroslag ingot during electroslag remelting,different power supply modes,current strengths and remelting slag systems were used to conduct electroslag remelting ex.eriments on 304l austenitic stainless steel,and the macrostructure of electroslag ingots was *** results indicate that the depth of the metal pool decreases with the reduction of remelting frequency in the low frequency power supply *** effects of different power supply modes,such as low-frequency,direct current straight polarity(DCSP),and direct current reverse polarity(DCRP),on reducing the depth of the metal pool increase in that *** reducing the remelting current strength in the same power supply mode,the depth of metal pool is *** compared to the binary slag system of 70%CaF2+30%Al2O3,the ternary slag system of 60%CaF2+20%Al2O3+20%CaO is more effective in reducing the depth of the metal pool during *** the 60%CaF2+20%Al2O3+20%CaO ternary slag system results in a shallower and flatter metal pool,with columnar crystal growth occurring closer to the ax.al *** effect is observed for both low frequency and direct current(DC)power supply modes.

Repeated inoculation with rumen fluid accelerates the rumen bacterial transition with no benefit on production performance in postpartum Holstein dairy cows

Background The dairy cow’s postpartum period is characterized by dramatic physiological changes,therefore imposing severe challenges on the animal for maintaining health and milk *** dynamics of the ruminal microbiota are also tremendous and may play a crucial role in lactation *** aim to investigate the potential benefits of early microbial intervention by fresh rumen microbiota transplantation(RMT)and sterile RMT in postpartum dairy *** fistulated peak-lactation dairy cows were selected to be the donors for rumen fluid *** postpartum cows were divided into 3 groups as the transplantation receptors respectively receiving 10 l fresh rumen fluid(FR),10 l sterile rumen fluid(SR),or 10 l saline(CON)during 3 d after *** Production performance,plasma indices,plasma lipidome,ruminal microbiome,and liver transcriptome were *** fresh and sterile RMT,we found that the molar proportion of propionic acid was increased on d 7 in the FR and SR groups and the bacterial composition was also significantly changed when compared with the CON group.A similarity analysis showed that the similarities between the CON group and FR or SR group on d 7 were 48.40%or 47.85%,whereas the similarities between microbiota on d 7 and 21 in the FR and SR groups were 68.34%or 66.85%.Dry matter intake and feed efficiency were not affected by ***β-hydrox.butyrate concentration in the FR group was decreased and significantly different lipids mainly included phosphatidylcholine and lysophosphatidylcholine containing polyunsaturated fatty *** transcriptomics analysis indicated acutephase response pathways were upregulated in the SR *** Our study suggests that RMT can shorten the transition process of the ruminal microbiota of postpartum dairy cows with no benefit on dry matter intake or feed *** with rumen fluid may not be a useful approach to promote the recovery of postpartum dairy cows.

Climate change and ex.reme weather pose significant challenges to the traditional viticulture *** high-altitude grape-producing regions with diverse orientations have shown great potential in coping with this ***,high-quality wine grape production may be achieved by synchronizing the meso-and *** clarify the role of high altitude and row orientation in meso-and microclimate and the response of berries to it,we evaluated seven years(2012-2018)of climate data,two years of basic grape(Cabernet Sauvignon,Vitis vinifera l.)quality,and one-year microclimate from veraison to *** comparing two locations(Sidon 2047 m,Sinon 2208 m)in Yunnan Province,China,we found that the average temperature has been stable at approx.mately 15℃ for seven years,with no ex.reme weather or,noticeable global *** light intensity(lI)in the north-south(NS)was more balanced than the east-west(EW)direction,and the east-west to the south(EW-S)canopy side was almost higher than the other *** lI was associated with high photosynthetically active radiation(PAR),ultraviolet(UV),and infrared(IR)light and vice *** north-south to the east(NS-E)and east-west to the north(EWN)sides were characterized by lower lI and higher UV and IR light,and higher total anthocyanin *** anthocyanin synthesis-related genes,for ex.mple,VvF3'H and VvF3'5'H,were highly ex.ressed in NS-E from veraison to *** UV and IR light induced their *** study provides new insights on the role of differently orientated rows in controlling grape quality due to varied light *** findings are globally significant,particularly in the contex. of climate change,and offer fresh insights into berry physiological responses and decision-making for the management of ex.sting vineyards.

Thermomechanical analysis of long-term global modal and local deformation measurements of the Kishwaukee Bridge using the bootstrap

In this paper we present a comparative analysis of global frequency and local deformation data for a large concrete bridge. The asymptotic probability distributions of the central statistics are presented, and compared with empirical bootstrap estimates. Bootstrapped distributions are calculated from reference data obtained during 1999–2000 and used to develop change-point alarm criteria for the structure, using reasonable sensitivity measures developed from FEM simulations and structural analysis. The implications of the frequency data are discussed in conjunction with the strain and displacement measurements in order to discern if the load carrying capacity of the bridge has been affected. The critical need for more advanced temperature compensation models for large structures continually in thermal disequilibrium is discussed.

Geophysical prediction of organic matter abundance in source rocks based on geochemical analysis:A case study of southwestern Bozhong Sag,Bohai Sea,China

The Bozhong Sag is the largest petroliferous sag in the Bohai Bay Basin,and the source rocks of Paleogene Dongying and Shahejie Formations were buried *** of the drillings were located at the structural high,and there were few wells that met good quality source rocks,so it is difficult to evaluate the source rocks in the study area precisely by geochemical analysis *** on the Rock-Eval pyrolysis,total organic carbon(TOC)testing,the organic matter(OM)abundance of Paleogene source rocks in the southwestern Bozhong Sag were evaluated,including the lower of second member of Dongying Formation(E_(3)d2l),the third member of Dongying Formation(E_(3)d_(3)),the first and second members of Shahejie Formation(E_(2)s_(1+2)),the third member of Shahejie Formation(E_(2)s_(3)).The results indicate that the E_(2)s_(1+2)and E_(2)s_(3)have better hydrocarbon generative potentials with the highest OM abundance,the E_(3)d_(3)are of the second good quality,and the E_(3)d2l have poor to fair hydrocarbon generative ***,the well logs were applied to predict TOC and residual hydrocarbon generation potential(S_(2))based on the sedimentary facies classification,usingΔlogR,generalizedΔlogR,logging multiple linear regression and BP neural network *** various methods were compared,and the BP neural network method have relatively better prediction *** on the pre-stack simultaneous inversion(P-wave impedance,P-wave velocity and density inversion results)and the post-stack seismic attributes,the three-dimensional(3D)seismic prediction of TOC and S_(2)was carried *** results show that the seismic near well prediction results of TOC and S_(2)based on seismic multi-attributes analysis correspond well with the results of well logging methods,and the plane prediction results are identical with the sedimentary facies map in the study *** TOC and S_(2)values of E_(2)s_(1+2)and E_(2)s_(3)are higher than those in E_(3)d_(3)and E_(3)d_(2)l,basicall
