BACKGROUND The overlap of imaging manifestations among distinct splenic lesions gives rise to a diagnostic ***,a definitive diagnosis primarily relies on his-tological *** ultrasound(US)-guided coaxial core needle biopsy(CNB)not only procures sufficient tissue to help clarify the diagnosis,but reduces the incidence of puncture-related *** SUMMARY A 41-year-old female,with a history of pulmonary tuberculosis,was admitted to our hospital with multiple indeterminate splenic ***-scale ultrasono-graphy demonstrated splenomegaly with numerous well-defined hypoechoic *** contrast-enhanced computed tomography(CT)showed an en-larged spleen with multiple irregular-shaped,peripherally enhancing,hypodense *** emission CT revealed numerous abnormal hyperglycemia *** imaging findings strongly indicated the possibility of infectious disease as the primary concern,with neoplastic lesions requiring *** obtain the precise pathological diagnosis,the US-guided coaxial CNB of the spleen was ca-rried *** patient did not express any discomfort during the *** Percutaneous US-guided coaxial CNB is an excellent and safe option for obtaining precise splenic tissue samples,as it significantly enhances sample yield for exact pathological analysis with minimum trauma to the spleen parenchyma and sur-rounding tissue.

The real-time monitoring of the weld pool during deposition is important for automatic control in plasma arc additive *** obtain a high deposition accuracy,it is essential to maintain a stable weld pool *** this study,a novel passive visual method is proposed to measure the weld pool *** the proposed method,the image quality was improved by designing a special visual system that employed an endoscope and a *** also includes pixel brightness-based and gradient-based algorithms that can adaptively detect feature points at the boundary when the weld pool geometry *** algorithm can also be applied to materials with different solidification *** was performed to measure the real weld pool length in world coordinates,and outlier rejection was performed to increase the accuracy of the ***,tests were carried out on the intersection component,and the results showed that the proposed method performed well in tracking the changing weld pool length and was applicable to the real-time monitoring of different types of materials.

The coarse-grained discrete element method(DEM)is probably a feasible option for simulating an actual drum-type biomass boiler,which contains over 10 million cylinder particles.A multi-level study was conducted based on particle and coarse-grained level data to evaluate the adequacy of the coarse-grained approach in terms of geometrical characteristics,kinematic features,and dynamic *** scaling laws for contact parameters were used and compared during the *** results show that the coarse-grained approach can accurately predict the positions of the free surface and active-passive interface,the mixing index,and the orientation *** in the velocity fields may occur due to the worse flowability of coarse-grained particles near the free *** efficiency is significantly improved by the coarse-grained model compared with the corresponding original case(the same DEM code without a coarse-grained model was used for the original simulations).

Ground-based tests are important for studying hypervelocity impact(HVI)damage to spacecraft pressure vessels in the orbital debris *** analyzed the damage to composite overwrapped pressure vessels(COPVs)in the HVI tests and classified the damage into non-catastrophic damage and catastrophic *** proposed a numerical simulation method to further study non-catastrophic damage and revealed the characteristics and mechanisms of non-catastrophic damage affected by impact conditions and internal *** fragments of the catastrophically damaged COPVs were collected after the *** crack distribution and propagation process of the catastrophic ruptures of the COPVs were *** findings contribute to understanding the damage characteristics and mechanisms of COPVs by HVIs.

A promising method for the preparation of pure metallic vanadium via V_(2)CO anode electrolysis was proposed and *** simple and controllable synthesis of a molten chloride salt containing VCl_(2) by an insitu reaction between VCl_(3) and metallic vanadium was verified through thermodynamic analysis and ***-KCl-VCl_(2) molten salt exhibited excellent recycling performance and could be repetitively used to prepare metallic vanadium by V_(2)CO *** V^(2+) ions remained in the molten salt after *** electrolysis conditions,such as the cathode diameter,current density,V^(2+) ion concentration,and temperature,were optimised to maximise the current *** was also simulated to reveal the regulatory *** highest current efficiency was 85%.The purity of metallic vanadium was up to 99.8%.In this study,an easy and efficient preparation of pure metallic vanadium was achieved.

Recently,an environmentally friendly electrolysis process of soluble vanadates is proposed and successfully confirmed for V_(2)O_(3) *** this paper,the solubilities of various vanadates(***_(3),Na_(4)V_(2)O_(7) and Na_(3)VO_(4))in NaCl molten salt are *** dependences of V_(2)O_(3) extraction on vanadate form,anode material and molten salt system are studied.A long-term electrolysis is carried *** result indicates that the solubilities of all vanadates are high and meet electrolytic *** to Na_(4)V_(2)O_(7) and Na_(3)VO_(4),NaVO_(3) exhibits larger current efficiency and lower electricity *** using SnO_(2) anode instead of graphite anode,the current efficiency of NaVO_(3) electrolysis can be increased to 58.1%and carbon pollution is avoided at 700℃.The extraction rate of V_(2)O_(3) reaches 81.3%after long-term electrolysis of 51 *** work optimizes the electrochemical preparation process of V_(2)O_(3) from various vanadates and contributes to the improvement of current efficiency and extraction rate.

In this paper,a new concept of forward-pumped random Raman fiber laser(RRFL)-based liquid refractive index sensing is proposed for the first *** liquid refractive index sensing,the flat fiber end immersed in the liquid can act as the point reflector for generating random fiber lasing and also as the sensing *** to the high sensitivity of the output power of the RRFL to the reflectivity provided by the point reflector in the ultralow reflectivity regime,the proposed RRFL is capable of achieving liquid refractive index sensing by measuring the random lasing output *** theoretically investigate the effects of the operating pump power and fiber length on the refractive index sensitivity for the proposed *** a proof-of-concept demonstration,we experimentally realize high-sensitivity half-open short-cavity RRFL-based liquid refractive index sensing with the maximum sensitivity and the sensing resolution of-39.88W/RIU and 2.5075×10^(-5) RIU,*** also experimentally verify that the refractive index sensitivity can be enhanced with the shorter fiber length of the *** work extends the application of the random fiber laser as a new platform for highly-sensitive refractive index sensing in chemical,biomedical,and environmental monitoring applications,etc.

The influences of particle size,shape,and catalyst distribution on the reactivity and hydrocarbon product selectivity of a cobalt-based catalyst for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis were investigated in the present work.A self-consistent kinetic model for Fischer-Tropsch reaction proposed here was found to correlate experimental data well and hence was used to describe the consumption rates of reactants and formation rates of hydrocarbon *** perturbed-chain statistical associating fluid theory equation of state was used to describe vapor-liquid equilibrium behavior associated with Fischer-Tropsch *** interaction between intraparticle diffusion and Fischer-Tropsch reaction was investigated in *** showed that in order to avoid the adverse influence of intraparticle diffusional limitations on catalyst reactivity and product selectivity,the use of small particles is *** eggshell spherical particles are shown to keep the original catalyst reactivity and enhance the selectivity of heavy hydrocarbon *** suitable layer thickness for a spherical particle with a diameter of 2 mm is nearly 0.15 *** the same outer diameter of 2 mm,the catalyst reactivity and heavy product selectivity of hollow cylindrical particles with a layer thickness of 0.25 mm are found to be larger than eggshell spherical *** the viewpoint of catalytic performance,hollow cylindrical particles are a better choice for industrial applications.
