General anesthetic agents induce neurotoxicity through astrocytes

Neuroscientists have recognized the importance of astrocytes in regulating neurological function and their influence on the release of glial transmitters. Few studies, however, have focused on the effects of general anesthetic agents on neuroglia or astrocytes. Astrocytes can also be an important target of general anesthetic agents as they exert not only sedative, analgesic, and amnesic effects but also mediate general anesthetic-induced neurotoxicity and postoperative cognitive dysfunction. Here, we analyzed recent advances in understanding the mechanism of general anesthetic agents on astrocytes, and found that exposure to general anesthetic agents will destroy the morphology and proliferation of astrocytes, in addition to acting on the receptors on their surface, which not only affect Ca2+signaling, inhibit the release of brain-derived neurotrophic factor and lactate from astrocytes, but are even involved in the regulation of the pro-and anti-inflammatory processes of astrocytes. These would obviously affect the communication between astrocytes as well as between astrocytes and neighboring neurons, other neuroglia, and vascular cells. In this review, we summarize how general anesthetic agents act on neurons via astrocytes, and explore potential mechanisms of action of general anesthetic agents on the nervous system. We hope that this review will provide a new direction for mitigating the neurotoxicity of general anesthetic agents.

目的测定急性一氧化碳中毒患者系统性炎症反应指数(SIRI)和血清脂蛋白相关磷脂酶A2(Lp⁃PLA2)水平,并探讨二者及其联合对急性一氧化碳中毒迟发性脑病(DEACMP)的预测价值。方法纳入2020年3月至2023年3月河北医科大学哈励逊国际和平医院、河北省衡水市第二人民医院和第四人民医院诊断与治疗的265例急性一氧化碳中毒患者,测定SIRI和血清Lp⁃PLA2水平,根据是否发生DEACMP分为DEACMP组(32例)和非DEACMP组(233例),根据中毒程度分为轻度中毒组(20例)、中度中毒组(107例)和重度中毒组(138例),单因素和多因素Logistic回归分析筛查急性一氧化碳中毒患者发生DEACMP的危险因素,绘制受试者工作特征(ROC)曲线,评估SIRI、Lp⁃PLA2及二者联合对DEACMP的预测效能。结果DEACMP组患者SIRI(t=13.068,P=0.000)和血清Lp⁃PLA2水平(t=8.208,P=0.000)均高于非DEACMP组,且二者随中毒程度的加重而逐渐升高,重度中毒组和中度中毒组SIRI(t=8.764,P=0.000;t=4.586,P=0.000)和Lp⁃PLA2(t=3.726,P=0.000;t=2.038,P=0.044)高于轻度中毒组,重度中毒组亦高于中度中毒组(t=10.294,P=0.000;t=2.700,P=0.007)。Logistic回归分析显示,重度中毒(OR=11.695,95%CI:4.893~39.994;P=0.000)、SIRI增加(OR=1.600,95%CI:1.033~2.476;P=0.001)和血清Lp⁃PLA2水平升高(OR=11.302,95%CI:1.486~38.933;P=0.000)是急性一氧化碳中毒患者发生DEACMP的危险因素。ROC曲线显示,Lp⁃PLA2、SIRI及二者联合预测DEACMP的曲线下面积分别为0.82(95%CI:0.754~0.894,P=0.000)、0.82(95%CI:0.739~0.895,P=0.000)和0.87(95%CI:0.805~0.934,P=0.000),灵敏度为0.66、0.72和0.84,特异度为0.85、0.88和0.90;Lp⁃PLA2联合SIRI预测DEACMP的效能优于单一Lp⁃PLA2(t=2.198,P=0.027)或SIRI(t=2.268,P=0.023)。结论急性一氧化碳中毒患者SIRI和血清Lp⁃PLA2水平较高时易发生DEACMP,二者联合检测可用于DEACMP的早期筛查。

螺杆钻具是目前广泛使用的井下动力钻具,其工作性能直接影响钻井效率。但结构中的传动轴和水帽因水力冲蚀易发生断裂,进而导致螺杆钻具无法正常工作,因此有必要对水帽和传动轴冲蚀特性开展研究。基于计算流体力学(CFD)建立三维水帽及传动轴冲蚀有限元计算模型,分析水帽导流孔数量、当量直径、倾角及传动轴结构对冲蚀的影响,并对其结构进行优化。研究结果表明:综合冲蚀范围和冲蚀率,建议水帽导流角度为45°;导流孔数量的增加会增加冲蚀区域,建议导流孔个数为3个;传动轴冲蚀率随着凹槽宽度的增加而增加,且圆弧截面可有效减小冲蚀;传动轴出口直径对其冲蚀率的影响较小。研究结果可为获得螺杆钻具水帽及传动轴的冲蚀特性和结构优化设计提供借鉴。

Objective:To explore whether acupuncture combined with moxibustion could inhibit epithelialmesenchymal transition in Crohn’s disease by affecting the transforming growth factorβ1(TGF-β1)/Smad3/Snail ***:Sixty-three patients with Crohn’s disease were randomly divided into an observation group(31 cases)receiving moxibustion at 43℃ combined with acupuncture,and a control group(32 cases)receiving moxibustion at 37℃combined with sham acupuncture using a random number *** were treated for12 ***’s Disease Activity Index(CDAI)was used to evaluate disease ***-eosin staining and transmission electron microscopy were utilized to observe the morphological and ultrastructural *** was used to detect the expression of transforming growth factorβ1(TGF-β1),TβR1,TβR2,Smad3,Snail,E-cadherin and fibronectin in intestinal mucosal ***:The decrease of the CDAI score,morphological and ultrastructural changes were more significant in observation *** expression levels of TGF-β1,TβR2,Smad3,and Snail in the observation group were significantly lower than those before the treatment(P<0.05 or P<0.01).After treatment,the expression levels of TGF-β1,TβR2,and Snail in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(all P<0.05);compared with the control group,the expression of fibronectin in the observation group was significantly decreased,and the expression of E-cadherin was significantly increased(all P<0.05).Conclusions:Moxibustion at 43℃combined with acupuncture may suppress TGF-β1/Smad3/Snail pathway-mediated epithelial-mesenchymal transition of intestinal epithelial cells in Crohn’s disease patients by inhibiting the expression levels of TGF-β1,TβR2,Smad3,and Snail.(Registration ***-IIR-16007751).

Low Surface Brightness Galaxies Selected by Different Model Fitting

We present a study of low surface brightness galaxies(LSBGs) selected by fitting the images for all the galaxies inα.40 SDSS DR7 sample with two kinds of single-component models and two kinds of two-component models(disk+bulge):single exponential,single sersic,exponential+deVaucular(exp+deV),and exponential+sérsic(exp+ser).Under the criteria of the B band disk central surface brightness μ_(0,disk)(B)≥22.5 mag arcsec^(-2) and the axis ratio b/a> 0.3,we selected four none-edge-on LSBG samples from each of the models which contain 1105,1038,207,and 75 galaxies,*** are 756 galaxies in common between LSBGs selected by exponential and sersic models,corresponding to 68.42% of LSBGs selected by the exponential model and 72.83% of LSBGs selected by the sersic model,the rest of the discrepancy is due to the difference in obtaining μ_(0) between the exponential and sersic *** on the fitting,in the range of 0.5≤n≤1.5,the relation of μ_(0) from two models can be written as μ_(0,sérsic)-μ_(0,exp)=-1.34(n-1).The LSBGs selected by disk+bulge models(LSBG_(2)comps) are more massive than LSBGs selected by single-component models(LSBG_1comp),and also show a larger disk *** the bulges in the majority of our LSBG_(2)comps are not prominent,more than 60% of our LSBG_(2)comps will not be selected if we adopt a single-component model *** also identified 31 giant low surface brightness galaxies(gLSBGs) from LSBG_(2)*** are located at the same region in the color-magnitude diagram as other *** we compared different criteria of gLSBGs selection,we find that for gas-rich LSBGs,M_(*)> 10^(10)M_⊙ is the best to distinguish between gLSBGs and normal LSBGs with bulge.

The holographic fermions dual to massive gravity

We investigate the properties of the spectral function of the fermionic operator in the field theory which is dual to a 4-dimensional massive gravity. We first study the Fermi surface and the dispersion relation in the dual boundary theory. We find that as the massive parameters is decreased, the Fermi momentum becomes lower and the low energy excitation near Fermi surface behaves more like non-Fermi liquid. Then, we introduce a dipole coupling in the bulk theory and explore the emergence of a gap in the fermionic spectral function. It is found that larger critical dipole coupling is needed to open the gap than that in Einstein gravity. Accordingly,in the field theory dual to massive gravity, it requires stronger negative dipole coupling to generate the marginal Fermi liquid.

Objective:The objective of this study is to systematically review and analyze the efficacy of acupuncture for pain caused by primary liver cancer(PLC).Materials and Methods:We searched databases,including PubMed,Medline,Embase,Cochrane Library,Web of Science,China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Chinese Science and Technology Periodicals Database(VIP),Wanfang,and SinoMed/Chinese Biomedical Database(CBM),and retrieved randomized controlled trials(RCTs)that used acupuncture as the primary intervention to treat pain caused by *** investigators then screened the articles,extracted and pooled data,and evaluated the risk of bias of the included articles according to the Cochrane ***5.3 was used for the meta-analysis of eligible ***:A total of 145 articles were retrieved;after screening,8 RCTs involving 496 patients were eventually included in this *** results showed that acupuncture effectively improved cancer pain and was superior to Western ***,acupuncture was fast-acting for pain relief,prolonged the relief,and prevented *** adverse reaction rate was also significantly lower than that of Western *** significant difference was observed in Visual Analog Scale score between acupuncture and Western ***:Acupuncture relieves pain caused by liver cancer and can be used as an adjunct and alternative therapy for drug *** existing research evidence is not yet objective or comprehensive,and more rigorous clinical trials are needed to validate the results.

Reliability testing and reliability analysis of the over-load protective relay

The over-load protective relay is widely used for motor protection. The reliability of the over-load protective relay directly affects the safe running of a motor. The reliability testing and reliability analysis of the over-load protective relay is an important way to improve the reliability of products. In this paper, the reliability test method of the over-load protective relay is studied, and the reliability tests of the typical products are carried out on a reliability tester developed by authors. In terms of the testing results, the reliability analysis is finished. The failure reasons are found and the measures are put forward to improve the reliability of the products.

Comparison of Microstructure and Residual Stress Between TIG and MAG Welding Using Low Transformation Temperature Welding Filler

A Cr-Ni type of low transformation temperature（LTT）welding filler was devised in the present *** LTT weld microstructures of the tungsten inert gas（TIG）and metal active gas（MAG）weldings were investigated by using electron-backscattered diffraction and orientation imaging *** results showed that the LTT weld microstructures prepared by TIG and MAG weldings were primarily martensite with 17.5% and 8.0% retained austenite,*** LTT weld metal using TIG welding had larger grain size than using *** addition,based on the Taylor factor calculation,the weld metal using MAG welding was more competent in repressing fatigue crack ***,the high angle and coincidence site lattice grain boundaries were dominant in the LTT weld metal using MAG ***,the hardness of the LTT weld metal using MAG welding was higher than that of using *** on heat input and phase transformation,finite element method was applied to analyzing the tensile residual stress（RS）reduction in welded joints prepared by both conventional and LTT welding fillers,*** corresponding outcome confirmed that the LTT weld metal using MAG welding was more beneficial to tensile RS reduction.
