Molecular and biological characterization of melon-infecting squash leaf curl China virus in China

It has been reported that squash leaf curl China virus(SLCCNV)infects some Cucurbitaceae crops except for melon(Cucumis melo L.).A new disease of melon exhibiting severe leaf curl and dwarfing was observed in Hainan Province of *** this study,the pathogen was identified as SLCCNV through biological and molecular *** isolate(SLCCNV-HN)possess a bipartite genome,DNA-A(HM566112.1)with the highest nucleotide identity(99%)to SLCCNV-Hn(MF062251.1)pumpkin and SLCCNV-Hn61(AM260205.1)squash isolates from China,whereas DNA-B(HM566113.1)with the highest nucleotide identity(99%)to SLCCNV-Hn(MF062252.1).Phylogenetic analyses based on the full-length SLCCNV-HN DNA-A and-B sequences indicated that SLCCNV-HN melon isolate is clustered with SLCCNV-Hn pumpkin,SLCCNV-Hn61 and SLCCNV-SY squash isolates from southern China,forming an independent *** clone of SLCCNV-HN was constructed and the melon plants were inoculated and the infection rate is 100%,the systemic symptoms in melon showed identical to those of melon plants infected in ***,melon plants transmission of this virus by Bemisia tabaci with a transmission rate of 95%(19/20)showed leaf curl and dwarf symptoms 15 days post transmission,thereby fulfilling Koch’s *** of genomic organization and phylogenetic trees indicated that SLCCNV-HN melon isolate belongs to the Begomovirus *** the best of our knowledge,this is the first characterization of meloninfecting SLCCNV through its genome,infectious clone and transmission.

Lithium-iodine(Li-I_(2))battery exhibits high potential to match with high-rate property and large energy ***,problems of the system,such as evident sublimation of iodine elements,dissolution of iodine species in electrolyte,and lithium anode corrosion,prevent the practical use of rechargeable Li-I_(2)*** this work,a molten Li-I_(2)typical cell design which has distinct advantages based on the solid-state garnet electrolyte with the eutectic iodate cathode is firstly *** U-shaped ceramic electrolyte tube can separate Li anode from the eutectic iodate cathode,so as to better tackle the above-mentioned inherent challenges for the liquid electrolyte *** self-discharging and lithium anode corrosion,this solid-state battery system demonstrates high safety margin and excellent electrochemical ***,the simple battery structure also indicates the easy assembly process and recycling of electrode *** the cathode loading of 593 mg in a single cell,an energy density of~506.7 Wh·kg^(-1)was achieved at 1 C and a long-term cycling life for 2,000 cycles also displays negligible capacity decay.

Enhanced nanocrystalline stability of BCC iron via copper segregation

Nanocrystalline alloys are known for their high density of grain boundaries(GBs), which results in low thermal stability and a tendency for coarsening. In this work, we investigated Fe–Cu alloys to explore the effects of Cu concentration on the thermal stability of nanocrystalline samples. Using hybrid molecular dynamics(MD) and Monte Carlo(MC) simulations, annealing treatments of nanocrystalline samples with varied Cu concentrations were conducted. The simulation results revealed that Cu atoms tended to accumulate at GBs. Subsequently, the model with Cu segregation was subjected to mechanical creep loading at various temperatures. Through the analysis of atomic structure evolution during creep deformation, it was found that Cu segregation efficiently stabilizes GBs and restricts their movement. The present findings highlight that the thermal stability of nanocrystalline Fe–Cu alloys can be effectively improved by introducing suitable Cu segregation at GBs.

The development of heterogeneous molecule-based catalysts for red light-mediated photocatalysis is still challenging due to the improper light absorption for most materials and the photoactivity deactivation for solid ***,red light photocatalysis with a hydrogen-bonded organic framework(HOF)is *** HOF,named HOF-66,is formed from the self-assembly of guanine-decorated naphthalenediimide(NDI)molecule through hydrogen-bonded guanine-quadruplex nodes,showing square grid supramolecular layers confirmed by powder X-ray diffraction *** contrast to unsubstituted NDI HOF,introduction of ethylamino groups to NDI core in HOF-66 tunes strong electronic maximum absorption peak to 619 nm,allowing red light photocatalysis of singlet oxygen evolution proved by 1,3-diphenylisobenzofuran degradation and electron spin resonance ***,under the same conditions,the sulfide oxidation rate in the presence of HOF-66 was 28 times higher compared to its unsubstituted *** work integrates the molecular design and aggregation effect towards the application of HOFs,opening a new gate for red light photocatalysts.

Spatial distribution pattern in mammal and bird richness and their relationship with ecosystem services in Sanjiangyuan National Park, China

Species diversity exhibit a close relationship with ecosystem services, and making clear the relationship can help us understand the service value and functional mechanism of ecosystems and take measures to promote human well-being. Here, we used species survey data and multi-source habitat factors to simulate the spatial distribution of species richness and four types of ecosystem services(water production, net primary productivity, carbon storage, and habitat quality) in Sanjiangyuan National Park located in Qinghai Province, China. We also analyzed the spatial distribution pattern and explored the spatial relationship between species richness and ecosystem services through Geo Detector analyses. We found that high species richness in Sanjiangyuan National Park was shown to be mainly distributed in areas with high vegetation growth on both sides of rivers. The effect of climate on the spatial distribution of species richness in the park is the highest among all the selected environmental variables. For the relationship between species diversity and ecosystem services, the relative correlation strength of single ecosystem service varied among the three main ecosystems(grassland, meadow, and wetland) and all relations are positive.

Hydrogen is a clean fuel with numerous sources,yet the hydrogen industry is plagued by hydrogen embrittlement(HE)issues during the storage,transportation,and usage of hydrogen *** can compromise material performance during service,leading to significant safety hazards and economic *** the current work,the influence of element Cr on the HE resistance of nanocrystalline Fe-Cr alloys under different hydrogen concentrations and strain rates was *** hybrid Monte Carlo(MC)and molecular dynamics(MD)simulations,it was found that Cr atoms were segregated at grain boundaries(GB)and inhibited the GB ***,Cr segregation improved the strength and plasticity of the nanocrystalline Fe-Cr alloys,especially the HE ***,the Cr segregation reduced the diffusion coefficient of hydrogen and inhibited hydrogen-induced *** work provided new insight into the development of iron-based alloys with high HE resistance in the future.

Thermoresponsive Nanogels from Dendronized Copolymers for Complexation,Protection and Release of Nucleic Acids

A series of thermoresponsive cationic dendronized copolymers and their corresponding nano gels containing den dritic oligoethylene glycol(OEG)units and guanidine groups were prepared,and their complexation,protect!on,and release of nucleic acids were *** dendritic OEGs endow these copolymer materials with good biocompatibility and characteristic thermoresponsiveness,while cationic guanidine groups can efficiently bind with the nucleic *** dendritic topology also affords the copolymers specific shielding effect which plays an essential role in protecting the activity of nucleic *** room temperature,dendronized copolymers and the corresponding nanogels could efficiently capture and condense the nucleic acids,while above their cloud points(Tcps),more than 75%of siRNA could be released in 1 h triggered by *** importantly,the copolymer showed protective capability to siRNA,while nano gels exhibit even better protection when compared to the copolymers due to the synergetic effect from the three-dimensional cross-linked network and high density of dendritic units in *** kind of smart dendr on ized copolymer nano gels form a no vel class of scaffolds as promisi ng materials for biomedical applicatio ns.

The microstructural evolution and performance of diamond/Al composites during thermal cycling has rarely been *** the present work,the thermal stability of diamond/Al composites during thermal cycling for up to 200 cycles was ***,the thermal conductivity(λ)of the composites was measured and scanning electron microscopy of specific areas in the same samples was carried out to achieve quasi-in situ *** interface between the(100)plane of diamond and the Al matrix was well bonded with a zigzag morphology and abundant needle-like Al4C3 *** contrast,the interface between the(111)plane of diamond and the Al matrix showed weak bonding and debonded during thermal *** debonding length increased rapidly over the first 100 thermal cycles and then increased slowly in the following 100 ***λof the diamond/Al composites decreased abruptly over the initial 20 cycles,increased afterward,and then decreased monotonously once more with increasing number of thermal *** in theλof the Al matrix and the corresponding stress concentration at the diamond/Al interface caused by thermal mismatch,rather than interfacial debonding,may be the main factors influencing the decrease inλof the diamond/Al composites,especially in the initial stages of thermal cycling.
