Application of surfactant for improving leaching process of weathered crust elution-deposited rare earth ores

Weathered crust elution-deposited rare earth ores(WREOs)in china are the main source of medium and heavy rare earths in the *** order to improve the seepage and the mass transfer of traditional ammonium salt leaching process of WREOs,surfactants were added in the ammonium sulfate leaching solution and the ammonium chloride leaching *** leaching kinetics,the mass transfer process,and the adhesion work reduction factor calculated from the interfacial properties were studied to reveal the strengthening mechanism of *** the presence of the tested five surfactants,cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide(CTAB),dodecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide(DTAB),sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS),sodium oleate and oleic acid,the permeability of WREOs is improved,the rare earth(RE)leaching efficiency increase and the impurity aluminum(Al)leaching efficiency decrease,indicating its promotional effect on the leaching process of ***,CTAB shows a better leaching enhancement,and the optimal addition dosage is 0.4 g/L for the two ammonium salt leaching agent *** kinetics analysis shows the internal diffusion controls model of RE and Al leaching process,and the leaching kinetics equations of RE and Al related to CTAB concentration were obtained for the two ammonium salt leaching *** to the chromatographic plate theory,the mass transfer efficiency of RE increases with the CTAB concentration increasing until 0.4 g/L,which confirms that the optimal CTAB addition is 0.4 g/*** adhesion work and adhesion work reduction factor indicate more favorable permeation as well as the leaching process.

In developing and exploring extreme and harsh underwater environments,underwater robots can effectively replace humans to complete *** meet the requirements of underwater flexible motion and comprehensive subsea operation,a novel octopus-inspired robot with eight soft limbs was designed and *** robot possesses the capabilities of underwater bipedal walking,multi-arm swimming,and grasping *** closely interact with the underwater seabed environment and minimize disturbance,the robot employs a cable-driven flexible arm for its walking in underwater floor through a bipedal walking *** multi-arm swimming offers a means of three-dimensional spatial movement,allowing the robot to swiftly explore and navigate over large areas,thereby enhancing its ***,the robot’s walking arm enables it to grasp and transport objects underwater,thereby enhancing its practicality in underwater environments.A simplified motion models and gait generation strategies were proposed for two modes of robot locomotion:swimming and walking,inspired by the movement characteristics of octopus-inspired multi-arm swimming and bipedal *** experimental verification,the robot’s average speed of underwater bipedal walking reaches 7.26 cm/s,while the horizontal movement speed for multi-arm swimming is 8.6 cm/s.

A prospective cohort of men with localized prostate cancer on active surveillance protocol in hong Kong,china:what did we learn?

This study aimed to report the outcomes of active surveillance(AS)in the management of low-risk prostate cancer(PCa).It recruited87 men who were prospectively followed up according to the Prostate Cancer Research International Active Surveillance(PRIAS)protocol with local adaptation at SH Ho Urology Centre,Prince of Wales Hospital,hong Kong,*** investigated the predictorsof disease progression and found that baseline prostate-specific antigen density(PSAD)and the presence of the highest ProstateImaging-Reporting and Data System(PI-RADS)score 5 lesion on magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)are significantly correlatedwith disease ***,men with PSAD>0.2 ng ml^(−2)or PI-RADS 4 or 5 lesions had significantly worse upgradingfree survival compared to those with PSAD≤0.2 ng ml−2 and PI-RADS 2 or 3 *** study concludes that AS is a safe andeffective management strategy for selected patients to defer radical treatment and that most disease progression can be detectedafter the first repeated *** combination of PSAD>0.2 ng ml^(−2)and PI-RADS 4 or 5 lesions may serve as a useful predictorof early disease progression and provide a guide to optimize follow-up protocols for men in different risk groups.

In recent years,semantic segmentation on 3D point cloud data has attracted much *** 2D images where pixels distribute regularly in the image domain,3D point clouds in non-Euclidean space are irregular and inherently ***,it is very difficult to extract long-range contexts and effectively aggregate local features for semantic segmentation in 3D point cloud *** current methods either focus on local feature aggregation or long-range context dependency,but fail to directly establish a global-local feature extractor to complete the point cloud semantic segmentation *** this paper,we propose a Transformer-based stratified graph convolutional network(SGT-Net),which enlarges the effective receptive field and builds direct long-range ***,we first propose a novel dense-sparse sampling strategy that provides dense local vertices and sparse long-distance vertices for subsequent graph convolutional network(GCN).Secondly,we propose a multi-key self-attention mechanism based on the Transformer to further weight augmentation for crucial neighboring relationships and enlarge the effective receptive *** addition,to further improve the efficiency of the network,we propose a similarity measurement module to determine whether the neighborhood near the center point is *** demonstrate the validity and superiority of our method on the S3DIS and ShapeNet *** ablation experiments and segmentation visualization,we verify that the SGT model can improve the performance of the point cloud semantic segmentation.

Cryoglobulinemia is an independent factor negatively associated with sustained virological response in chronic hepatitis C patients

Background Mixed cryoglobulinemia （MC） is one of the most common and severe symptoms in chronic hepatitis C patients. The aim of this study was to investigate whether mixed cryoglobulinemia is a factor associated with sustained virological response in chronic hepatitis C patients treated with combination therapy of pegylated interferon alpha-2a and ribavirin. Methods This is a single-center study including 57 chronic hepatitis C patients who received combination treatments of pegylated interferon alfa-2a and ribavirin. Serum cryoglobulin was detected by cryoprecipitation prior to treatment. Serum hepatitis C virus （HCV） RNA levels were checked before treatment, during the fourth and 12th week of treatment, and during the 24th week after cessation of treatment. The genotype of HCV was determined at baseline. Logistic regression analysis was used to assess the factors associated with sustained virological response. Results Twenty-five patients were with MC （43.9%）. Twenty-four weeks after cessation of antiviral treatment, sustained virological response achievement in MC~ patients was significantly lower than that in MC- patients （32.0% vs. 75.0%, P=-0.001）. Univariate Logistic regression analysis and multivariate Logistic regression analysis found that only MC （odds ratio： 6.375; 95% Ch 1.998-20.343, P=0.002） was negatively associated with sustained virological response achievement. Conclusion MC is an independent factor negatively associated with sustained virological response in chronic hepatitis C patients treated with pegylated interferon alpha-2a and ribavirin.

The hot environment and the metabolic heat of commuting in summer caused individual overheating and intense thermal *** cooling presents huge potential for optimizing thermal *** study investigates the performance of a back cooling device,based on the semiconductor Peltier effect,in improving thermal comfort after summer *** studied one case without cooling,and three cases with surface temperatures of the cooling device of 29,27,and 25℃using a simulated summer commute at a moderate activity *** results showed that thermal sensation,perceived sweating rate,and skin temperature decreased markedly in the cooling cases compared to the non-cooling case,with the changes being most notable in the lower back,in contact with the cooling *** decrease in overall thermal sensation and mean skin temperature was approximately 0.52 score and 0.31℃on average,respectively,with a 1.71 score increase in overall thermal *** contend that the surface temperature of local contact cooling devices should not be lower than 22℃to minimize local *** cooling devices present a huge potential for building energy-savings at ambient air temperature exceeding 30℃.Moreover,the functional paradigms for individual comfort predict improved comfort performance in future *** study contributes to the understanding on the well-being and physiological recovery of individuals after a summer commuting.

Electrical discharge and arc milling with automatic tracking of optimal flushing direction:A novel high-efficiency compound machining method

The arc milling method has the advantages of high machining efficiency and low cost and is independent of the strength and hardness of machined ***,frequent electrode back-offs and the risk of workpiece burning may occur if erosion products are not removed *** this study,it was found that the flushing method of the working medium had a significant impact on the machining performance of arc *** on this,a novel highefficiency compound machining method of electrical discharge and arc milling with automatic tracking of the optimal flushing direction was *** automatic tracking optimizer for external working medium injection was designed to determine the optimal external flushing direction according to the feed *** influence of flushing methods,working mediums,and machining parameters on the machining efficiency,tool electrode wear rate,machining error,and surface integrity of titanium alloys were *** results indicated that better machining performance and environmental friendliness were achieved using the compound flushing method of outer compressed air and inner deionized ***,the automatic tracking flushing method in the opposite direction of the feed direction showed superior results compared to other *** material removal rate with the opposite direction injection could be increased up to 1.62 times that of the same direction,and the relative electrode wear rate could be reduced by 14.76%.This novel method has broad application prospects for machining parts with difficult-to-cut materials in aerospace and military industries.
