Background Hepatocellular carcinoma （HCC） is one of the deadliest cancers worldwide. In order to investigate the molecular biologic mechanism of HCC＇s development, we studied the expressions of SE-1, CD105 and CD31 in tumor endothelial cells （TECs） of HCC and in the serum of rats. Methods We analyzed the expressions of SE-1, CD31 and CD105 in rat HCC tumor tissues using immunohistochemistry （IHC）. Twenty HCC bearing rats and eighteen normal rats were examined for the expressions of SE-1, CD31 and CD105 antigens in serum by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay （ELISA）. Results SE-1, CD31 and CD105 antigens were detected both in HCC tissue and in normal liver tissue with higher expressions of CD31 and CD105 in HCC while the SE-1 antigen expression was higher in normal liver. Similarly, serum CD31 and CD105 in rats with HCC were significantly increased compared with normal rats （t=-2.8628, P=0.0086; t=4.4922, P 〈0.0001, respectively）. In contrast, SE-1 antigen in HCC rat serum was significantly decreased compared with normal rats （t=3.4983, P=-0.0011）.Conclusion SE-1, CD31 and CD105 are closely related with liver tumor angiogenesis, which is similar to their performances in terms of their expressions in the serum.

Charge transport characterization of single-molecule junctions is essential for the fundamental research of single-molecule physical chemistry and the development towards single-molecule electronic devices and circuits. Among the single-molecule conductance characterization techniques,the single-molecule break junction technique is widely used in tens of worldwide research laboratories which can generate a large amount of experimental data from thousands of individual measurement cycles. However,data interpretation is a challenging task for researchers with different research backgrounds,and the different data analysis approaches sometimes lead to the misunderstanding of the measurement data and even reproducibility issues of the measurement. It is thus a necessity to develop a user-friendly all-in-one data analysis tool that automatizes the basic data analysis in a standard and widely accepted way. In this work,we present the XMe Code (Xiamen Molecular Electronics Code),an intelligent all-in-one data analysis tool for the comprehensive analysis of single-molecule break junction data. XMe code provides end-to-end data analysis that takes in the original experimental data and returns electronic characteristics and even charge transport mechanisms. We believe that XMe Code will promote the transparency of the data analysis in single-molecule electronics and the collaborations among scientists with different research backgrounds.

Non-isotropy is evident for flows with large streamline curvature. Algebraic stress model can fairly simulate non-isotropy of turbulence. Some flow situations were investigated with a well developed ASM model. The calcu- lated results show that the distributions of Reynolds stresses in different directions are obviously different. The non-isotropy of the flow is evident. The effect of streamline curvature on the flow feature of submerged water jet restricted by solid boundaries were studied, and its application in the design of energy dissipators of free trajectory jet type was disscused.

The effect of KBr on the size, shape and microviscosity of CTAB micelles has been investigated by means of laser light scattering (LLS), 1H NMR measurements and fluorescence probe. The data obtained from the various techniques are quantitatively in agreement. The Rh of micelles in 0.01 mol ·L-1 CTAB solution increases from 3.5 nm to 43 nm and Rg increases to 89 nm with addition of KBr salt. In this process, both the microviscosity and molecular weight of micelles Mw have noticeable increases, too. The rod-like micelles are formed at 0.1 mol ·L -1 KBr and the worm-like micelles are formed at above 0.2 mol ·L-1 KBr.

WT5”BZ]On the basis of the theory of complex functions the authors derive the boundary integral equations for the flow discharging from an outlet in a dam in an auxiliary plane. Assuming that the integral variables are constants in small integral intervals, one can directly integrate the boundary integral equations. With the use of the boundary stream coordinates, the boundary integral equations in the physical plane are obtained. Therefore the angle of the solid boundaries is a known function of stream coordinates in the physical plane instead of an unknown function in the complex potential plane or auxiliary plane. As a result we avoid the difficulty for seeking the mapping function which conformally maps the physical plane onto the complex potential or auxiliary plane. A synchronous iterative method for the flow rate and the flow pattern is presented. The flow rate, the pressure distributions at the solid walls and the profiles of the free jet are calculated. The numerical results are in excellent agreement with the experimental results.[WT5”HZ]

BACKGROUND The current case report describes successful phacoemulsification with the aid of perioperative topical ascorbic acid(AA) in two patients with corneal endothelial disorders to prevent postoperative corneal endothelial *** SUMMARY Two eyes of two patients underwent phacoemulsification with pre-existing corneal endothelial disorders including Fuchs corneal endothelial dystrophy(Patient 1) and endotheliitis(Patient 2). Topical AA was applied to both patients at least one month before and after with a frequency of four times per day. After the surgery, both eyes improved best-corrected visual acuity(BCVA) and there was limited human corneal endothelial cell loss without signs of corneal endothelial decompensation, such as deteriorated BCVA or persistent corneal edema during the follow-up of at least two *** Perioperative administration of topical AA may be an alternative therapy to the triple procedure in patients expecting to undergo cataract surgery.

Polygonati Rhizoma， a functional food and a traditional chinese medicine broadly used in china and several Southeast Asia countries， possesses effective health-promoting activities. Prepared from three plants in Polygonatum family (P. kingianum， P. sibiricum， and P. cyrtonema)， Polygonati Rhizoma has drawn increasing attention due to its remarkable immune-enhancing and metabolic regulatory activities in recent years. In this review， we summarized the updated research of chemical constituents and biological activities of Polygonati Rhizoma， especially the metabolic regulation， immunomodulatory effects， and anti-fatigue activities， aiming to provide a comprehensive understanding， broaden the usage and promote more in-depth exploration of Polygonati Rhizoma as a functional food.

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of combining acupuncture and medication in treating chronic atrophic gastritis(CAG) due to spleen-stomach deficiency. Methods: Totally 176 patients with CAG were randomized into two groups by the random number table. The 91 subjects in the treatment group were intervened by acupuncture and oral chinese patent medication; the other 85 subjects were by oral chinese patent medication alone. The clinical efficacies were compared at the end of intervention. Results: After a treatment course, the total effective rate was 87.9% in the treatment group versus 75.3% in the control group; according to the gastroscopy and pathological biopsy examinations, the total effective rate was 85.7% in the treatment group versus 74.1% in the control group. There were significant differences in comparing the clinical efficacy, gastroscopy and pathological examinations between the two groups(P<0.05). Conclusion: Combining acupuncture and medication can produce a better therapeutic efficacy than medication alone in treating CAG due to spleen-stomach deficiency.

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Dong’s extraordinary points in treating tinnitus due to cervical ***:Totally 140 eligible subjects diagnosed with tinnitus due to cervical spondylosis were randomized into two groups,seventy in the treatment group were intervened by acupuncture at Dong’s extraordinary points;seventy in the control group were intervened by acupuncture at cervical Jiaji(EX-B 2)and distal points on *** efficacy was observed after a treatment ***:The total effective rate was 95.7%in the treatment group versus85.7%in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Compared to traditional point selection,acupuncture at Dong’s extraordinary points has advantages of fewer points,less pain,faster effect,and better therapeutic efficacy.
