Aim:To determine propofol concentration in the cerebral spinal fluid （CSF） ofneurosurgical patients and carry out a preliminary population ***:Twenty-seven elective neurosurgical patients （12 men and 15women） aged 17-74 years received propofol in a bolus dose of 2 mg/kg for 5 minand an infusion of 10 mg/kg per h for 5 *** CSF samples were drawn andassayed for propofol *** bispectral index （BIS） was used to mea-sure the drug *** data were analyzed first with the Excel software package,then pharmacodynamics modeling was performed using the NONMEM ***:The CSF concentration was related to the drug effect withlinear and sigmoid *** parameters for the linear addictive modelwere a= 1.11 and b=*** parameters for the linear exponential model were a=1.05 and b=*** parameters for the sigmoid Emaxmodel were Emax=119,EC50=53.6ng/mL,and N=*** the covariates of age,weight and sex wereconsidered,the parameters of models,objective function,the standard error of themean and the prediction error were not ***:Linear additive,linear exponential and sigmoid Emaxmodels can be used to describe the pharmaco-dynamics of propofol with respect to the concentration in *** this smallpopulation,age （17-74 years）,weight （47-98kg） and sex did not influence any ofthe pharmacodynamic parameters of *** verify these preliminary results,a larger study population is required.

The HLA-based distributed simulation has neither mechanisms for managing execution according to the dynamically changing conditions of computing resources nor implementation with dynamical discovery. Grid Computing is designed to coordinate resources that are not subject to centralized control. Firstly, we present an architecture of Distributed Interactive Simulation on Grid (DISG) which supports execution of HLA-based Parallel and Advanced Distributed Simulation on the Grid Computing Environment. The architecture aims at the technology for constructing distributed interactive simulation on Grid Computing Environment (GCE), partitions the base components of DISG, designates the base function and purpose, describes the interrelation and emphasizes the efficient execution mechanism of large-scale distributed simulation system on the GCE. Secondly, we give a prototype to validate the feasibility and examine the performance of the key techniques of DISG Finally, we present an operational platform, called GlobeSimGrid, by which we demonstrate how ontologies and grid techniques can be integrated together to provide a semantic-heterogeneity solution which, in a certain degree, address the challenge of large-scale distributed simulation system integration.

Three polyoxometalate-based hybrid coordination materials,[Co_(8)(H_(2)O)_(34)(pz)_(2){Co_(4)(H_(2)O)_(2)P_(4)W_(30)O_(112)}]·16H_(2)O(compound 1),[H_(3)O]_(4)[Co_(6)(H_(2)O)_(22)(pz)_(2){Co_(4)(H_(2)O)_(2)P_(4)W_(30)O_(112)}]·21H_(2)(compound 2),and[H_(3)O]_(4)[Co_(6)(H_(2)O)_(22){Co_(4)(H_(2)O)_(2)P_(4)W_(30)O_(112)}]·29H_(2)O(compound 3)(pz-pyrazine),were built from the linkage of[Co_(4)(H_(2)O)_(2)(P_(2)W_(15)O_(56)_(2)]^(16-)-(abbreviated as{Co_(4)P_(4)W_(30})polyanions and pz and/or cobalt(II)*** compounds 1 and 2 consisted of the same components,their lamellar networks were quite *** inorganic lamellar network in compound 3 was constructed by connecting{Co_(4)P_(4)W_(30)}units with cobalt(I)*** work demonstrates that the coordination modes of{Co_(4)P_(4)W_(30)}are very sensitive to synthesis conditions,while the ring-belt tetrametals are easily substituted by different transition metal cations under mild reaction conditions.

BACKGROUND: Crigler-Najjar syndrome type I (CNS I) is a very rare autosomal recessive inherited disease that liver transplantation can properly deal with. METHODS: We present one case of an 18-month-old child with CNS I diagnosed by clinical findings and genetic detecting LTx was performed 5 days after kernicterus broke out and neurological symptoms were successfully reversed. RESULT: Magnetic resonance imaging and magnetic resonance spectroscopy showed encouraging results that brain pathology had a trend to return to normal in 1-year follow-up, combined with electroencephalogram and motor development estimate studies. CONCLUSIONS: Liver transplantation can cure CNS I with reversible neurological symptoms to some extent in time Magnetic resonance spectroscopy may be a future option of predicting brain conditions and selecting suitable patients with CNS I for transplantation.
