Influence of parental education on the intelligence quotient profiles and socially adaptive behavior of school-age children with autism spectrum disorder in eastern China

Intelligence quotient(IQ)and adaptive behavior are the influencing factors of autism spectrum disorder(ASD)in children entering mainstream *** study explored the association between parental education level,IQ,and adaptive behavior in ASD groups.A total of 257 school-age ASD children were enrolled in our study from January 2017 to june *** parents completed a standard demographic form,including age at autism diagnosis,gender,school placement,and parents’educational *** Chinese version of the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children,Fourth Edition(WISC-IV)was completed by a certified assessor for each enrolled *** were interviewed on adaptive behavior using the Chinese version of the Adaptive Behavior Assessment System,Second Edition(ABAS-II).The average IQ of school-age ASD children was 76.88(standard deviation(SD)=22.62)and boys had higher IQ levels than *** IQ was positively correlated with *** General Adaptive Composite(GAC)score was 82.47(SD=15.86)and adaptive behavior did not increase with *** children who attended mainstream schools had better adaptive behavior profiles than other *** mother’s education level showed a significant correlation with the IQ and adaptive behavior of autistic children,while the father’s education level did ***,better training and support for parents may help autistic children enter mainstream schools,with adaptive training being the most urgently required skill for parents.

BACKGROUND： Numerous current studies have suggested that human telomerase reverse transcriptase （hTERT） gene has neuroprotective effects and can inhibit apoptosis induced by various cytotoxic stresses; however, the mechanism of action remains unknown. OBJECTIVE： To evaluate the neuroprotective effects and possible mechanism of action of hTERT gene transfection in human embryonic cortical neurons treated with beta-amyloid fragment 25-35 （AI325-35）. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING： The randomized, controlled and molecular biological studies were performed at the Department of Anatomy and Brain Research, Zhongshan School of Medicine, Sun Yat-sen University, China, from September 2005 to june 2008. MATERIALS： AdEasy-1 Expression System was gifted by Professor Guoquan Gao from Sun Yat-Sen University, China. Human cortical neurons were derived from 12-20 week old aborted fetuses, obtained from the Guangzhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital, China. Mouse anti-Odk5 and mouse anti-p16 monoclonal antibodies （Lab Vision, USA）, and mouse anti-hTERT monoclonal antibody （Epitomics, USA）, were used in this study. METHODS：（1） Recombinant adenovirus vectors, encoding hTERT （Ad-hTERT） and green fluorescent protein （Ad-GFP）, were constructed using the AdEasy-1 Expression System. Human embryonic cortical neurons in the Ad-hTERT group were transfected with Ad-hTERT for 1-21 days. Likewise, human embryonic cortical neurons in the Ad-GFP group were transfected with Ad-GFP for 1-21 days. Human embryonic cortical neurons in the control group were cultured as normal. （2） Human embryonic cortical neurons in the Ad-hTERT group were treated with 10 pmol/L Aβ25-35 for 24 hours. Normal human embryonic cortical neurons treated with 10 pmol/Lβ25.35 for 24 hours served as a model group. Human embryonic cortical neurons in the Ad-GFP and control groups were not treated with Aβ25-35. Precipitation Chemistry and Corresponding Transport Patterns of Influencing Air Masses at Huangshan Mountain in East China

One hundred and ten samples of rainwater were collected for chemical analysis at the summit of Huangshan Mountain, a high-altitude site in East China, from July 2010 to june 2011. The volume-weighted-mean （VWM） pH for the whole sampling period was 5.03. SO2- and Ca2＋ were the most abundant anion and cation, respectively. The ionic concentrations varied monthly with the highest concentrations in winter/spring and the lowest in summer. Evident inter-correlations were found among most ions, indicating the common sources for some species and fully mixing characteristics of the alpine precipitation chemistry. The VWM ratio of [SO]-]/[NO3] was 2.54, suggesting the acidity of rainwater comes from both nitric and sulfuric acids. Compared with contemporary observations at other alpine continental sites in China, the precipitation at Huangshan Mountain was the least polluted, with the lowest ionic concentrations. Trajectories to Huangshan Mountain on rainy days could be classified into six groups. The rainwater with influencing air masses originating in Mongolia was the most polluted with limited effect. The emissions of Jiangxi, Anhui, Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces had a strong influence on the overall rain chemistry at Huangshan Mountain. The rainwater with influencing air masses from Inner Mongolia was heavily polluted by anthropogenic pollutants.

Estimating the effects of meteorology on PM_(2.5) reduction during the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, China

Particulate pollution was a critical challenge to the promise of good air quality during the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games,which took place from August 8th to *** ensure good air quality for the Games,several temporary emission control measures were implemented in Beijing and surrounding *** particulate matter concentration decreased significantly during the Olympic period;however,it is difficult to distinguish the effectiveness of those control measures since meteorology also affects ambient PM_(2.5) *** this work,a multiple linear regression model based on continuous field monitoring at a roadside site was conducted to evaluate the effects of meteorology and emission control measures on the reduction of PM_(2.5) during the 2008 Olympic *** hourly data set was divided into two time periods,the no control period,june 22nd to July 4th,and the control period,July 28th to August *** response variable was PM_(2.5) and the meteorology covariates used in the model were hourly temperature,dew point temperature,wind speed and *** direction was not a significant predictor of PM_(2.5) levels in either the control or the no control *** the meteorologically-based regression coefficients from the two time periods,meteorology was found to contribute to at least a 16%reduction in PM_(2.5) levels in the roadside microenvironment;while the pollution control measures contributed to at least a 43%reduction in PM_(2.5) levels.

Numerical analysis for contribution of the Tibetan Plateau to dust aerosols in the atmosphere over the East Asia

Although the Tibetan Plateau is widely thought as a potential dust source to the atmosphere over East Asia,little is known about the temporal changes of Tibetan dust activities and Tibetan dust source *** this study,we address these two issues by analyzing dust storm frequencies and aerosol index through remote sensing data and by means of numerical *** findings indicate that monthly dust profiles over the Tibetan Plateau vary significantly with *** the surface,dust concentration increases from October,reaches its maximum in February March,and then *** the middle to upper troposphere,dust concentration increases from January,reaches its maximum in May june,and decreases *** Tibetan dust sources are important contributors to dust in the atmosphere over the Tibetan Plateau,their contribution to dust in the troposphere over eastern China is *** contribution of Tibetan dust sources to dust in the atmosphere over the Tibetan Plateau decreases sharply with height,from 69% at the surface,40% in the lower troposphere,and 5% in the middle ***,the contribution shows seasonal changes,with dust sources at the surface at approximately 80% between November and May and 45% between june and September;in the middle and upper troposphere,dust sources are between 21% from February to March and less than 5% in the other ***,dust aerosols originating from the Tibetan Plateau contribute to less than 10% of dust in East Asia.

Characteristics of Surface Solar Radiation under Different Air Pollution Conditions over Nanjing, China: Observation and Simulation

Surface solar radiation (SSR) can affect climate, the hydrological cycle, plant photosynthesis, and solar power. The values of solar radiation at the surface reflect the influence of human activity on radiative climate and environmental effects, so it is a key parameter in the evaluation of climate change and air pollution due to anthropogenic disturbances. This study presents the characteristics of the SSR variation in Nanjing, China, from March 2016 to june 2017, using a combined set of pyranometer and pyrheliometer observations. The SSR seasonal variation and statistical properties are investigated and characterized under different air pollution levels and visibilities. We discuss seasonal variations in visibility, air quality index (AQI), particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5), and their correlations with SSR. The scattering of solar radiation by particulate matter varies significantly with particle size. Compared with the particulate matter with aerodynamic diameter between 2.5 μm and 10 μm (PM2.5-10), we found that the PM2.5 dominates the variation of scattered radiation due to the differences of single-scattering albedo and phase function. Because of the correlation between PM2.5 and SSR, it is an effective and direct method to estimate PM2.5 by the value of SSR, or vice versa to obtain the SSR by the value of PM2.5. Under clear-sky conditions (clearness index ≥0.5), the visibility is negatively correlated with the diffuse fraction, AQI, PM10, and PM2.5, and their correlation coefficients are ?0.50,?0.60,?0.76, and ?0.92, respectively. The results indicate the linkage between scattered radiation and air quality through the value of visibility.

In 2022,Yellow Sea green tide caused by Ulva prolifera reached a historic minimum and the coastal areas of Shandong Peninsula were less ***,the largest amount of seaweed biomass has been washed ashore on Lianyungang and Rizhao coasts since *** studied the development pattern of Yellow Sea green tide in 2022,and analyzed the key environmental factors on the growth and drifting,then discussed the possible reasons that resulted in the massive stranding of green tide biomass in Lianyungang and *** show under the combined influence of the east to southeast winds and currents with shoreward anomalies,green tide drifted to the coastal waters between Shandong and Jiangsu provinces and the distribution areas located westward compared with previous years(2008–2021).Floating *** rafts from the coastal waters of Binhai and Sheyang drifted continuously into the coastal waters of Lianyungang and Rizhao,providing important supplements for Yellow Sea green *** green tide in 2022 distributed close to the coastal waters,the abundant nutrients might support their continuous high growth *** addition,the amount of rainfall around Shandong Peninsula from late june to early July were significantly higher than in previous years,which might promote the development of green tide to some extent.

Expression of c-Fos protein and nitricoxide synthase in neurons of cerebral cortex from fetal rats in hypoxia and protective role of Angelica sinensis

BACKGROUND： Both c-Fos protein and nitricoxide synthase （NOS） have been used as general indexes in relative research about neurons, but it is lack of reports that c-Fos protein and NOS are applied synchronously to study the neurons of hypoxic fetal rats in uterus. OBJECTIVE： To study the effect of hypoxia in uterus on the expression of c-Fos protein and NOS in neurons of cerebral cortex from fetal rats and whether Angelica sinensis has the protective effect on these neurons in hypoxia. DESIGN： Randomized control experiment.SETTING ： Department of Histology and Embryology, Luzhou Medical College.MATERIALS ： Twelve adult female Wistar rats in oestrum and 1 male Wistar rat with bodymass from 220 to 250 g were chosen. Parenteral solution of Angelica sinensis mainly contained angelica sinensis, 10 mL/ampoule, was provided by Department of Agent of the Second Hospital Affiliated to Hubei Medical University （batch number： 01062310）. METHODS ： This experiment was completed in the Department of Histology and Embryology of Luzhou Medical College from September 2003 to june 2004. ①Twelve adult female Wistar rats in oestrum and 1 male Wistar rat were housed in one rearing cage. Vaginal embolus was performed on conceive female rat at 8： 00 am next day. On the 15^th conceiving day, all conceiving rats were divided randomly into three groups： control group, hypoxia group and Angelica group with 4 in each group. Rats in hypoxia group and Angelica group were modeled with hypotonic hypoxia in uterus. Angelica group： Rats were injected with 8 mL/kg Angelica sinensis injection through caudal veins before hypoxia. Hypoxia group： Rats were injected with the same volume of saline. Control group： Rats were not modeled and fed with normal way. ② Twenty embryos of rats were chosen randomly from each group and then routinely embedded in paraffin. Analyzing pH value, energy and phospholipid metabolism of various cerebral tumors and normal brain tissue with ^(31)P magnetic resonance spectroscopy

BACKGROUND： ^31p magnetic resonance spectroscopy （^31p MRS） can be used to non-injuredly and dynamicly detect vadous metabolites including phosphorus in organis and reflect changes of phospholipid metabolism and energy metabolism in tissue and pH value in cells. OBJECTIVE： To observe changes of pH value, phospholipid metabolism and energy metabolism of various cerebral tumors and normal brain tissue with sip MRS. DESIGN： Semi-quantitative contrast observation PARTICIPANTS ： A total of 44 patients with cerebral tumor diagnosed with surgery operation were selected from the Department of Magnetic Resonance, Central South Hospital, wuhan University from September 2004 to june 2006. All the subjects had complete sip MRS data before steroid and operation. Among them, 16 patients had glioma of grade Ⅱ-Ⅲ, 12 spongioblastoma and 16 meningioma. The mean age was （45±6） years. Another 36 subjects without focus on cerebral MRI were regarded as normal group, including 19 males and 18 females, and the mean age was （41±4） years. Included subjects were consent. METHODS： Eclipse1.5T MRS （Philips Company） was used to collect wave spectrum; jMRUI（1.3） was used to analyze expenmental data and calculate pH value in voxel and ratios of phosphocreatine （PCr）/inorganic phosphate （Pi）, PCr/phosphodiesterase （PDE） and phosphomonoesterase （PME）/β-adenosine triphosphate （β-ATP） of vadous metabolites. ^31p MRS results were compared with t test between tumor patients and normal subjects. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES： Changes of phospholipid metabolism （PME./PDE）, energy metabolism （PCr/ATP） and pH value of various cerebral tumors and normal brain tissues. RESULTS ： A total of 44 cases with cerebral tumor and 36 normal subjects were involved in the final analysis. pH value and semi-quantitative measurements of normal brain tissues and various cerebral tumors： ① pH value at top occipital region and temple occipital region of normal brain tissue was 7.04 ±0.02; PCr/β-ATP was 1.51 ±0.03; PCr/Pi was 2.85±0.2

Viral Metagenomics Analysis of Planktonic Viruses in East Lake,wuhan,China

East Lake(Lake Donghu),located in wuhan,China,is a typical city freshwater lake that has been experiencing eutrophic conditions and algal blooming during recent *** and fresh water are considered to contain a large number of ***,little is known about their genetic diversity because of the limited techniques for culturing *** this study,we conducted a viral metagenomic analysis using a high-throughput sequencing technique with samples collected from East Lake in Spring,Summer,Autumn,and *** libraries from four samples each generated 234,669,71,837,12,820,and 34,236 contigs(>90 bp each),*** genetic structure of the viral community revealed a high genetic diversity covering 23 viral families,with the majority of contigs homologous to DNA viruses,including members of Myoviridae,Podoviridae,Siphoviridae,Phycodnaviridae,and Microviridae,which infect bacteria or algae,and members of Circoviridae,which infect invertebrates and *** highest viral genetic diversity occurred in samples collected in August,then December and june,and the least diversity in *** contigs have low-sequence identities with known *** detection targeting the conserved sequences of genes(g20,psbA,psbD,and DNApol)of cyanophages further confirmed that there are novel cyanophages in the East *** viral metagenomic data provide the first preliminary understanding of the virome in one freshwater lake in China and would be helpful for novel virus discovery and the control of algal blooming in the future.
