Information content security on the Internet:the control model and its evaluation

Flooding of harmful information on the Internet seriously endangers the physiological and mental health of teenagers. Due to the user-friendliness of the Internet as well as the difficulty in the authentication for the access of specific categories of information, curbing the transmission of harmful information, i.e., assuring the information content security (ICS), has become a reasonable yet challenging alternative. At present, there is an urgent need to develop a systematic model that can effectively carry out the curbing. In fact, curbing the transmission of harmful information by way of filtering can be modeled by access control. In the paper, based on the three core-elements of communication, namely, "Who communicates with whom", "How do they communicate" and "What is the content of communication", we propose a control model, called ICCON. Unlike the existing access control, the reference monitor (RM) of our model is placed in the transmission channel, and moreover, an evaluation frame is proposed, through which the effectiveness of the RM in controlling information transmission on the Internet can be quantitatively evaluated.

Security of Ad Hoc network

An Ad hoc network is composed of wireless mobile *** there is no other wired infrastructure such as base stations,the ad hoc network,unlike other wireless networks such as wireless Local Area network(WLAN),has to face attacks from both the control plane and the data *** hoc should ensure the routing security on the control plane,and the secure forwarding of packets on the data *** distributed network protocol should operate safely,and peer-to-peer nodes should have trusting relations for each *** this purpose,a complete security solution should include three parts:security on the control plane,security on the data plane,and security of key management.

Trends and Prospects of network Convergence

The concept of the separation of service,control,bearer and access in the Next Generation network (NGN) provides a unified architecture for the network convergence in the future. network convergence involves service,core network,access network,terminal,and operation and maintenance convergence. In the future,the converged network’s trend is to use IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) at the core control layer; Internet Protocol/Multiple Protocol Label Switching (IP/MPLS) technology at the core bearer layer; unified and open service provisioning architecture at the service layer; as well as support fixed,mobile,narrowband and broadband access technologies and so on at the access layer. Terminals will evolve to be multi-modular and intelligent,and would finally enable users to access full services anytime and anywhere using one number,one terminal,one account and one core network.

Local segment-shared protection based on source egress gateway selection for multi-domain optical mesh networks

Survivability for multi-domain optical networks is becoming a key parameter due to expanding network. In order to provide the shared-path-protected lightpath in multi-domain optical mesh networks, we propose a protection solution, called GSLSSP. A new source egress gateway selecting mechanism is adopted in this solution. For each connection request, this mechanism can enable the source node to select a better egress gateway node to the destination domain and compute one inter-domain working path near the optimal path with the cooperating of this gateway node, under scalability and domain privacy constraint of multi-domain networks. And then one intra-domain link-disjoint local segment-backup path for each working-segment path is computed out in each single-domain passed by the working path. Simulation evaluation shows that the proposed scheme can provide 100% protection ability for multiple failures. Besides, it is effective in multi-domain path protection with more efficient resource utilization, lower blocking probabilities and less inter-domain cost than other schemes.

New Blue Ocean of Wideband wireless Mobile Internet: Modern Service

Wideband wireless Mobile Internet (WWMI) has become one of the most important technologies for Modern Service. The Modern Service information communication multi-access network can easily realize the new operation modes formed by various Modern Service support systems. We think that under the new operation modes, the charges on calling and information will become more negligible, while the charge on services provided by the direct service support of various Modern Service platforms will turn into a major revenue source. It is suggested that the operators build an operation service support platform with common services to cooperate with thousands of information websites, help clients to transform information into profit and carry out operations and services.

LINK PERDURABILITY BASED ROUTING FOR MOBILE AD HOC networkS

Ad Hoc networks are prone to link failures due to mobility. In this letter, a link perdurability based routing scheme is proposed to try dealing with this problem. This scheme uses signal strength measurements to estimate the route life time and hence chooses a stable route, and is implemented in two typical ad hoc routing protocols to evaluate its performance. The simulation results have shown that this scheme can improve these protocols' packet delivery ratio in cases where there are frequent link failures.

Soft Fractional Frequency Reuse

A soft fractional frequency reuse scheme is proposed to fulfill full frequency reuse for the 4G mobile communications system. This scheme can be implemented in three types,and using what type of the scheme can be decided during practical applications,depending on the link gain of the physical layer. The implementation of soft fractional frequency reuse in one of the three types is studied. The study results show that the frequency reuse factor of this scheme may reach 1/3-1. The simplified form of this scheme has been successfully applied in the 4G experimental network in Shanghai ,and provides a way to fulfill full frequency reuse in systems.

A New Analytical Model for TCP Reno with Bursts Error Considered

In this paper, we present a new analytical model for TCP Reno, and thismethod can also be used in other versions of TCP. The first order two-state Markovian model is usedto describe the wireless link, so as to deal with the burst error in wireless links very well. Thetimeout mechanism of TCP is also considered and a geometric method describes the exponential growthof TCP timeout. Also this method is effective for the study of the growth of TCP transmissionwindow. Analytical results indicate that this model is effective.
