Mediating role of resilience in the relationship between COVID-19 related stigma and mental health among COVID-19 survivors:a cross-sectional study

Background The global coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)has caused many negative effects on physical and mental health of patients who have survived *** from some long-lasting physical sequelae,those COVID-19 survivors are also suffering stigma and discrimination at different levels around the *** current study aims to assess the role resilience played in stigma and mental disorders among COVID-19 *** The cross-sectional study was carried out among former COVID-19 patients in Jianghan District(wuhan,China)from June 10 to July 25,*** demographic questions,the Impact of Events scale-Revised,the Generalized Anxiety Disorder Questionnaire,the Patient Health Questionnaire,the Resilience style Questionnaire and the short Version of COVID-19 stigma scale of 12 items were used to collect relevant information of the *** analyses,Pearson correlation analysis and structural Equation Modeling were used to make data description and *** A total of 1541 out of 1601 COVID-19 survivors(887 females and 654 males)were included in the *** stigma of those COVID-19 survivors correlates significantly with anxiety(r=0.335,Pssion(r=0.325,Pst-traumatic stress disorder(PTsD)(r=0.384,Ps a direct effect on COVID-19 survivors’anxiety(β=0.326,Pssion(β=0.314,PsD(β=0.385,Psilience(β=−0.114,Psilience partially mediated the association between perceived stigma and anxiety(β=0.020,Pssion(β=0.020,PsD(β=0.014,Pstigma has a significant negative impact on mental health,while resilience plays a mediator role in the relationship between stigma and mental health among COVID-19 *** on our study,we suggested that when designing psychological interventions for COVID-19 survivors,consideration should be taken into account to reduce stigma and improve resilience.

Optic nerve degeneration is a major cause of irreversible blindness worldwide with glaucoma being the most common optic neuropathy,affecting approximately 76 million people worldwide in *** optic nerve comprises axons of retinal ganglion cells(RGCs),the output neurons of the inner *** RGCs and axons from degeneration and regenerating RGC axons to preserve and recover vision in patients with progressive optic neuropathy is an unmet *** embryonic neurons,mature neurons of the mammalian central nervous system fail to regenerate their axons following *** age-related loss of axon regenerative capacity of RGCs over time renders vision loss from optic neuropathy *** failure of injured RGCs to regenerate axons is largely attributed to inhibitory molecules in the extrinsic environment and a change in the intrinsic molecular makeup of aging *** studies have demonstrated that RGCs require specific molecular signals for the stimulation of axon growth even without inhibitory molecules in the extrinsic environment,leading successive efforts to focus on uncovering the intrinsic signaling pathways that control axon extension during RGC development.

Cancer is the major cause of death worldwide and in the local community. Due to the aging population and changes in lifestyle of the citizens, it is expected that the incidence of cancer will continue to increase. In fact, according to the world Health Organization, about 30% of cancer death can be prevented. The fight against cancer relies on support from the government, together with collaborations with the policymakers, healthcare professionals, and the public. Legislation can act as a tool for cancer prevention. The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of the global cancer burden and to describe how cancer legislation acts as a tool for cancer prevention in the Hong Kong region.

On the Integrability of the Abel and of the Extended Liénard Equations

we present some exact integrability cases of the extended Liénard equation y′′+ f(y)(y′)n +k(y)(y′)m + g(y)y′+ h(y) = 0, with n > 0 and m > 0 arbitrary constants, while f(y), k(y), g(y), and h(y) are arbitrary functions. The solutions are obtained by transforming the equation Liénard equation to an equivalent first kind first order Abel type equation given bydv/dy= f(y)v3-n+ k(y)v3-m+ g(y)v2+ h(y)v3, with v = 1/y′.As a first step in our study we obtain three integrability cases of the extended quadratic-cubic Liénard equation,corresponding to n = 2 and m = 3, by assuming that particular solutions of the associated Abel equation are known. Under this assumption the general solutions of the Abel and Liénard equations with coefficients satisfying some differential conditions can be obtained in an exact closed form. with the use of the Chiellini integrability condition, we show that if a particular solution of the Abel equation is known, the general solution of the extended quadratic cubic Liénard equation can be obtained by quadratures. The Chiellini integrability condition is extended to generalized Abel equations with g(y) ≡ 0 and h(y) ≡ 0, and arbitrary n and m, thus allowing to obtain the general solution of the corresponding Liénard equation. The application of the generalized Chiellini condition to the case of the reduced Riccati equation is also considered.

Exercise is proven to be effective, safe and the preferred intervention for improving the range of shoulder motion of breast cancer patients who have undergone surgery for axillary lymph-node dissection. The application of evidence-based guidelines to clinical practice can help healthcare professionals to provide good quality care to patients and, in turn, produce better patient outcomes. The purpose of the present paper is to describe the development process of an evidenced-based guideline.
