Suppression of discontinuous precipitation and strength improvement by Sc doping in Cu-6 wt%Ag alloys

In low-Ag Cu matrix alloys,the presence of coarse discontinuous precipitates may limit *** demonstrated that discontinuous precipitation was suppressed,and continuous precipitation was en-hanced by the doping of Cu-6 wt%Ag with Sc.A high-volume fraction of continuous precipitates,which nucleated on{111}planes,led to a 55 mPa increase in strength,with only a slight decrease in electri-cal *** addition of Sc inhibited the nucleation of discontinuous precipitates by causing the Sc and the Ag to co-segregate onto grain boundaries,thus forming a thin intermetallic compound layer between *** deformation,both discontinuous and continuous precipitates were drawn into Ag *** combination of deformation strain and doping caused an increase in density and a decrease in the diameter of Ag fibers,resulting in about 205 mPa increase in doped samples when the deformation strain reached *** thinner,denser Ag fibers in the doped samples also caused higher electron scatter-ing at interfaces,leading to electrical conductivity that was 11%IACS lower than in non-doped *** reference,100%IACS(International Annealed Copper Standard)is equivalent to 1.7241μΩcm.

喷管中跨声速流动的反应流体动力学是实验和理论研究的一个重要领域。本文主要由两部分构成,在第一部分中对文献[2]中的murman格式[1]的一般形式进行了简化,得到了守恒形式的欧拉方程,并对其求解方法进行了讨论,同时针对Chattot等的工作展开了分析,并给出了带激波的流动计算结果;而文章的第二部分则研究了包含摩擦、加热以及耗散的跨声速流动,并重点关注了一步Arrhenius化学反应模型下的爆震现象。本文还探究了摩擦力和带燃烧的跨声速流动之间的相互作用,同时详细给出了新的欧拉方程数值求解算法并同已有文献算例进行了对比验证。

AIm: To investigate the survival of individuals with colorectal cancer (CRC) with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD-associated CRC) compared to that of individuals without IBD diagnosed with CRC. mETHODS: Epidemiologic, clinical, and follow-up data were obtained from the Colon Cancer Family Registry (Colon CFR). IBD-associated cases were identified from self-report of physician diagnosis. For a subset of participants, medical records were examined to confirm self-report of IBD. Cox proportional hazards regression was applied to estimate adjusted hazard ratios (aHR) and 95%CI of mortality, comparing IBD-associated to non-IBD-associated CRC, adjusted for age at CRC diagnosis, sex, Colon CFR phase, and number of prior endoscopies. Following imputation to complete CRC stage information, adjustment for CRC stage was examined. RESULTS: A total of 7202 CRC cases, including 250 cases of IBD-associated CRC, were analyzed. Over a twelve year follow-up period following CRC diagnosis, 2013 and 74 deaths occurred among non-IBD associated CRC and IBD-associated CRC patients, respectively. The difference in survival between IBD-associated and non-IBD CRC cases was not statistically significant (aHR = 1.08; 95%CI: 0.85-1.36). However, the assumption of proportional hazards necessary for valid inference from Cox regression was not met over the entire follow-up period, and we therefore limited analyses to within five years after CRC diagnosis when the assumption of proportional hazards was met. Over this period, there was evidence of worse prognosis for IBD-associated CRC (aHR = 1.36; 95%CI: 1.05-1.76). Results were similar when adjusted for CRC stage, or restricted to IBD confirmed in medical records. CONCLUSION: These results support the hypothesis that IBD-associated CRC has a worse prognosis than non-IBD-associated CRC.

AIm: To investigate the outcome of patients with symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) referred for endoscopy at 2 and 6 mo post endoscopy. mETHODS: Consecutive patients referred for upper endoscopy for assessment of GERD symptoms at two large metropolitan hospitals were invited to participate in a 6-mo non-interventional (observational) *** two institutions are situated in geographically and socially disparate areas. Data collection was by selfcompletion of questionnaires including the patient assessment of upper gastrointestinal disorders symptoms severity and from hospital records. Endoscopic finding using the Los-Angeles classification, symptom severity and it's clinically relevant improvement as change of at least 25%, therapy and socio-demographic factors were assessed. RESULTS: Baseline data were available for 266 patients and 2-mo and 6-mo follow-up data for 128 and 108 patients respectively. At baseline, 128 patients had erosive and 138 non-erosive reflux disease. Allmost all patient had proton pump inhibitor (PPI) therapy in the past. Overall, patients with non-erosive GERD at the index endoscopy had significantly more severe symptoms as compared to patients with erosive or even complicated GERD while there was no difference with regard to medication. After 2 and 6 mo there was a small, but statistically significant improvement in symptom severity (7.02 ± 5.5 vs 5.9 ± 5.4 and 5.5 ± 5.4 respectively); however, the majority of patients continued to have symptoms (i.e. , after 6 mo 81% with GERD symptoms). Advantaged socioeconomic status as well as being unemployed was associated with greater improvement. CONCLUSION: The majority of GORD patients receive PPI therapy before being referred for endoscopy even though many have symptoms that do not sufficiently respond to PPI therapy.

AIm To perform meta-analysis of the use of Endocuff during average risk screening *** Scopus, Cochrane databases, mEDLINE/Pub med, and CINAHL were searched in April 2016. Abstracts from Digestive Disease Week, United European Gastroenterology, and the American College of Gastroenterology meeting were also searched from 2004-2015. Studies comparing EC-assisted colonoscopy(EAC) to standard colonoscopy, for any indication, were included in the analysis. The analysis was conducted by using the mantel-Haenszel or DerS imonian and Laird models with the odds ratio(OR) to assess adenoma detection, cecal intubation rate, and complications performed. RESULTS Nine studies(n = 5624 patients) were included in the analysis. Compared to standard colonoscopy, procedures performed with EC had higher frequencies for adenoma(OR = 1.49, 95%CI: 1.23-1.80; P = 0.03), and sessile serrated adenomas detection(OR = 2.34 95%CI: 1.63-3.36; P mplications, most commonly being superficial mucosal injury without higher frequency for *** The use of an EC on colonoscopy appears to improve pre-cancerous polyp detection without any difference in cecal intubation rates compared to standard colonoscopy.

The ovary is not an immunologically privileged organ, but a breakdown in tolerogenic mechanisms for ovary-specific antigens has disastrous consequences on fertility in women, and this is replicated in murine models of autoimmune disease. Isolated ovarian autoimmune disease is rare in women, likely due to the severity of the disease and the inability to transmit genetic information conferring the ovarian disease across generations. Nonetheless, autoimmune oophoritis is often observed in association with other autoimmune diseases, particularly autoimmune adrenal disease, and takes a toll on both society and individual health. Studies in mice have revealed at least two mechanisms that protect the ovary from autoimmune attack. These mechanisms include control of autoreactive T cells by thymus-derived regulatory T cells, as well as a role for the autoimmune regulator （AIRE）, a transcriptional regulator that induces expression of tissue-restricted antigens in medullary thymic epithelial cells during development of T cells. Although the latter mechanism is incompletely defined, it is well established that failure of either results in autoimmune-mediated targeting and depletion of ovarian follicles. In this review, we will address the clinical features and consequences of autoimmune-mediated ovarian infertility in women, as well as the possible mechanisms of disease as revealed by animal models.

This work studies the influence of a commercial dispersion of multi wall carbon nanotubes （mWCNT） on the hydration of a class G cement paste, at room and elevated down-hole temperatures. The mWCNT dispersion was produced with a solids concentration of 3.0 % by mass and an anionic surfactant as dispersing agent. Cement pastes with water-to-cement ratio of 0.45 and additions of solid mWCNT by mass of cement up to 0.50 % were studied. Isothermal calorimetry results showed a clear retardation of the hydration of cement caused by the surfactant contained in the mWCNT dispersion. Nevertheless, thermogravimetric evaluations showed that once the hydration reaction resumed, the retardation effect of the surfactant did not have a negative impact on the amount of hydration products precipitated. It was concluded that the commercial mWCNT dispersion presents a good potential to be applied in oil well cement pastes.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a 1-h downhill running exercise on the elbow flexor muscles’neuromuscular *** adults(Control[CON]:n=9;Experimental[EXP]:n=8)completed this *** CON rested for 30 min while the EXP performed the downhill ***,10 min,24 h,and 48 h after the interventions,dependent variables(knee extensor muscle soreness,elbow flexion and knee extension isometric strength,elbow flexion resting twitch and voluntary activation[VA],and the biceps surface electromyography[EmG]amplitude)were *** extensor muscle soreness was significantly greater in the EXP than the CON group following the intervention throughout the entire 48 *** was accompanied by the greater decline in the knee extension strength in the EXP than the CON(mean±SD:-6.9±3.4%vs.1.0±3.2%,p=0.044).The elbow flexion strength,VA,and EmG amplitude were not affected by the ***,the decline of the elbow flexion resting twitch was greater in the EXP than the CON(±19.6±6.3%vs.8.7±5.9%,p=0.003).Therefore,the downhill running impaired the remote elbow flexor muscles at a peripheral level.
