Glacier Changes at svartisen,Northern Norway,during the Last 125 Years:Influence of Climate and Other Factors

The two ice caps of svartisen, at the latitude of the Arctic Circle in Norway, supply 60 glaciers, ranging in size from 〉50 to 〈1 km^2. Until the last two decades of the 19th century, the glaciers remained close to their maximum recent （Little Ice Age） size. In response to the prevailing 20th century climate, they have become smaller, but the changes have varied between glaciers. Climatic factors have not been the sole control of the variations. The response times of small, steep glaciers are shorter than those of the longer, more gently sloping outlet glaciers. Topographic factors may moderate the response of individual glaciers to climate. The 20th century mass balance of several of the larger glaciers was dominated by calving into marginal lakes. The mass balance of Engabreen, the largest outlet of the western ice cap, has been measured every year since 1970 and the cumulative balance to 2008 was a gain of 22.7 m water equivalent. Although the pattern of annual variations probably applies to the other glaciers of svartisen, it does not indicate their actual changes （gain or loss）. Thus, the Engabreen record is of little utility in water resource planning for the whole area.

＜正＞Current data indicate that the prevalence of individuals who are either overweight or obese is increasing in both adult and child populations throughout the world （WhO 2002）. studies have shown that obesity is associated with less favorable cardiovascular and metabolic risk factor profiles in children （Daniels et al., 1999;Lauer and Clarke, 1989;sung et al., 2003）. however, although the etiology of obesity is still unclear, physical inactivity has been identified as possibly one of the controllable risk factors （Booth et al., 2002）. There are several reasons that may explain the prevalence of sedentary lifestyles among the children in developed countries and regions. These explanations have predominantly social, environmental and psychological characteristics.

Free vibration and transient response of double curved beams connected by intermediate straight beams

This paper investigates the free vibration and transient response of interconnected structures including double curved beams and intermediate straight beams,which are all constructed from functionally graded porous(FGP) materials. The strain potential and kinetic energies of each beam along with the work done by the external force are calculated. Additionally, a higher-order beam element is introduced to derive stiffness and mass matrices, along with the force vector. The curved and straight beams are discretized, and their assembled stiffness, mass matrices, and force vectors, are *** conditions at the joints are used to derive the total matrices of the entire structure. subsequently, the natural frequencies and transient response of the system are determined. The accuracy of the mathematical model and the self-developed computer program is validated through the comparison of the obtained results with those of the existing literature and commercial software ANsYs, demonstrating excellent ***, a comprehensive study is conducted to investigate the effects of various parameters on the free vibration and transient response of the considered structure.

Comparative chemical sensor for detection of chromium(Ⅵ) in aqueous solution

A process for purifying aqueous solutions containing heavy and toxic metals such as chromium（Cr） has been investigated. One of the extremely harmful pollutants in rivers and seawater is the heavy metal ions due to their direct impacts on human, animals and plants are hexavalent Cr（Ⅵ）. Consequently, highly sensitive sensor to detect Cr is essential. surface plasmon resonance（sPR） technique has attracted huge research interest in detecting heavy metals specifically. In this study, three types of prism-based sPR sensor, gold（Au）/silver（Ag）, Au/polyaniline（PANI） and Au/titanium dioxide（TiO2） nanostructured films, are investigated as potential sensing material to detect the presence of Cr（Ⅵ） ions in water. The base Au layer with thickness of 48.3 nm is deposited on a glass slide for all sensors. For Au/Ag, Au/PANI nanofibers and Au/TiO2sensor films, the Cr（Ⅵ） concentration is varied from 1 ppm to 15 ppm with sensitivity of 0.270 °ppm-1, 0.082 °ppm-1and 0.039 °ppm-1, respectively. Based on these results, the Au/PANI nanofibers are the most sensitive to Cr（Ⅵ） among the tested sensing materials.

Altitude Effects of Climatic Variation on Tibetan Plateau and Its Vicinities

high topographies, such as the Tibetan plateau （TP） in China, have been considered as the sensitive areas in response to global climate change. By analyzing the relationship between warming structure and altitude （1 000-5 000 m） in the TP and its vicinities using the 46-year January mean observed temperature data, we found that there was a significant altitude effect of temperature warming onset time （mutation time） on the plateau and the neighboring regions： the higher the altitude, the later the climate warming happens, and vice versa. There also seems a slight altitude effect on warming magnitude： the higher the altitude, the less the warming magnitude. Therefore, the temperature warming in the high altitude area of the TP （below 5 000 m） responds to global warming less sensitively than the low-altitude neighboring areas both in onset time and magnitude, which may be mainly caused by high albedo and large thermal capacity of the ice/snow cover on the higher part of the plateau and possible heat island effect in the lower part of the plateau.

效率的概念就是比较被添加到水泥中的各种混凝土塑化剂材料的相关性能。在本论文中,介绍了用一种混凝土拌合料的塑化剂材料来评价效率因素k的方法。这种方法是根据Abram的强度水灰比规则,根据相关强度和黏结材料的成分来衡量效率的好坏的。这个方法的优点是,仅两个混合物就能确定一个具体混合物的k因素。一次实验室调查发现:衡量硅灰(sF)和高岭土(MK)混凝土的效率因素随混凝土拌合料的塑化剂的类型、替换水平和龄期而变化。在28天龄期,高岭土的k值范围是从1.6到2.3,而硅灰混合物的K值范围是从2.1到3.1,当在180天龄期,高岭土的k值从1.8到4.0变化而硅灰混合物的k值从2.4到3.3变化。通常,因素k的值随龄期的增加而增加随混凝土拌合料的塑化剂含量的增加而下降。我们发现改变水灰比从0.33到0.27并没有显著的影响到总值效率因素。
