Atomically dispersed Mn-N_(x) catalysts derived from Mn-hexamine coordination frameworks for oxygen reduction reaction

Metal-organic frameworks recently have been burgeoning and used as precursors to obtain various metal-nitrogen-carbon catalysts for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).Although rarely studied,Mn-N-C is a promising catalyst for ORR due to its weak Fenton reaction activity and strong graphitization ***,we developed a facile strategy for anchoring the atomically dispersed nitrogen-coordinated single Mn sites on carbon nanosheets(MnNCS)from an Mn-hexamine coordination *** atomically dispersed Mn-N_(4) sites were dispersed on ultrathin carbon nanosheets with a hierarchically porous *** optimized MnNCS displayed an excellent ORR performance in half-cells(0.89 V *** hydrogen electrode(RHE)in base and 0.76 V *** in acid in half-wave potential)and Zn-air batteries(233 mW cm^(−2)in peak power density),along with significantly enhanced *** functional theory calculations further corroborated that the Mn-N_(4)-C(12)site has favorable adsorption of*OH as the rate-determining *** findings demonstrate that the metal-hexamine coordination framework can be used as a model system for the rational design of highly active atomic metal catalysts for energy applications.

The interfacial interaction between HMX molecules and coating materials is the key to the safety performance of explosives and has received extensive ***,screening suitable coating agents to enhance the interfacial effect to obtain high-energy and low-sensitivity explosives has long been a major *** this work,HMX-PEI/rGO/g-C_(3)N_(4)(HPrGC)composites were innovatively prepared by a multi-level coating strategy of two-dimensional graphite rGO and g-C_(3)N_(4).The g-C_(3)N_(4) used for desensitization has a richπ-conjugated system and shows outstanding ability in reducing friction *** hierarchical structure of HPrGC formed by electrostatic self-assembly andπ-πstacking can effectively dissipate energy accumulation under heat and mechanical stimulation through structural evolution,thus exhibiting a prominent synergistic desensitization effect on *** results show that rGO/gC_(3)N_(4) coating has no effect on the crystal structure and chemical structure of *** importantly,the perfect combination of g-C_(3)N_(4) and rGO endows HPrGC with enhanced thermal stability and ideal mechanical sensitivity(IS:21 j,FS:216 N).Obviously,the new fabrication of HPrGC enriches the variety of desensitizer materials and helps to deepen the understanding of the interaction between explosives and coatings.

Effects of rare earth elements on inclusions, microstructure and impact toughness of spring steel

Spring steel is an indispensable basic part manufacturing material in mechanical equipment,which is widely used in transportation tools such as automobiles,railways,construction machinery and other *** effects of rare earth(RE)on inclusions,microstructure,carbides and impact toughness of 50CrV spring steel were studied by means of optical microscope,scanning electron microscope,transmission electron microscope and impact *** results show that the addition of rare earth can modify the main MnS and Al_(2)O_(3) inclusions in steel to form spherical or near-spherical rare earth inclusions,and the size of inclusions is significantly *** the quenched structure,the size of martensite slab becomes smaller and the structure is *** tempering,the carbide changes from sheet to ellipse,which makes it easier for spring steel to form stress concentration cracks under *** becomes finer and more dispersed,which leads to better pinning of grain boundaries and smaller grain *** impact toughness of 50CrV-RE spring steel increased from 21 to 41 j by 95%due to the improvement of inclusions,microstructure and carbides by rare *** is possible to improve the strength and toughness of spring steel for the improvement of railway running speed and the development of vehicle lightweight in China.

Spatial diversion and coordination of flood water for an urban flood control project in Suzhou, China

Suzhou City,located in the Yangtze River Delta in China,is prone to flooding due to a complex combination of natural factors,including its monsoon climate,low elevation,and tidally influenced position,as well as intensive human *** Large Encirclement Flood Control Project(LEFCP)was launched to cope with serious floods in the urban *** project changed the spatiotemporal pattern of flood processes and caused spatial diversion of floods from the urban area to the outskirts of the ***,this study developed a distributed flood simulation model in order to understand this transition of flood *** results revealed that the LEFCP effectively protected the urban areas from floods,but the present scheduling schemes resulted in the spatial diversion of floods to the outskirts of the *** rainstorm frequencies of 10.0%to 0.5%,the water level differences between two representative water level stations(Miduqiao(MDQ)and Fengqiao(FQ))located inside and outside the LEFCP area,ranged from 0.75 m to 0.24 m and from 1.80 m to 1.58 m,*** addition,the flood safety margin at MDQ and the duration with the water level exceeding the warning water level at FQ ranged from 0.95 m to 0.43 m and from 4 h to 22 h,*** scheduling schemes for the hydraulic facilities of the LEFCP in extreme precipitation cases were developed ac-cording to food simulations under seven scheduling *** helps to regulate the spatial flood diversion caused by the LEFCP during extreme precipitation.

Large eddy simulation study on drag reduction performance of array-based plasma synthetic jet actuators

Large Eddy Simulation(LES)is first used to investigate the drag reduction effect of an array-based configuration of Plasma Synthetic jet Actuators(PSjAs)on a hemisphere in supersonic inflow,and analyze the effect of energy allocation and array angle on the drag reduction performance of opposing Plasma Synthetic jet(PSj)in this *** simulation results have been compared with experimental data,confirming the validity of the simulation *** results show that different energy allocations have a significant effect on the drag of the ***,the effect of the change in array angle on the drag of the hemisphere is not as noticeable as the effect caused by energy *** regions between the two PSjAs occur,which undermine the effectiveness of drag *** Turbulent Kinetic Energy(TKE)regions primarily concentrate on the core region of the jet and downstream of the bow *** influence of the array angle on TKE is most evident in the downstream region of the exits of the PSjs on both *** evolution of the coherent structures reveals that as the PSj intensity decreases,the largescale vortices progressively break up into smaller-scale vortices,and energy is also transferred from large-scale structures to small-scale structures.

The increase in energy consumption and its collateral damage on the environment has encouraged the development of environment-friendly ceramic materials with good energy storage *** this work,(1-x)Na_(0.5)Bi_(0.5)TiO_(3)-xCa(Mg_(1/3)Nb_(2/3))O_(3) ceramics were synthesized by the solid-state reaction *** 0.88Na_(0.5)Bi_(0.5)TiO_(3)-0.12Ca(Mg_(1/3)Nb_(2/3))O_(3) ceramic exhibited a high recoverable energy storage density of 8.1 j/cm3 and energy storage efficiency of 82.4% at 550 kV/*** introduction of Ca(Mg_(1/3)Nb_(2/3))O_(3) reduced the grain size and increased the band gap,thereby enhancing the breakdown field strength of the ceramic *** method also resulted in good temperature stability(20–140℃),frequency stability(1–200 Hz),and fatigue stability over 106 *** addition,an ultrahigh power density of 187 MW/cm^(3) and a fast charge-discharge rate(t0.9=57.2 ns)can be obtained *** element method analysis revealed that the decrease of grain size was beneficial to the increase of breakdown field ***,the 0.88Na_(0.5)Bi_(0.5)TiO_(3)-0.12Ca(Mg_(1/3)Nb_(2/3))O_(3) ceramics resulted in high energy storage properties with good stability and were promising environment-friendly materials for advanced pulsed power systems applications.

An ultrafast fiber laser system comprising two coherently combined amplifier channels is *** this system,each channel incorporates a rod-type fiber power amplifier,with individual operations reaching approximately 233 *** active-locking of these coherently combined channels,followed by compression using gratings,yields an output with a pulse energy of 504μj and an average power of 403 *** stability is maintained,with a 0.3%root mean square(RMS)deviation and a beam quality factor M^(2)<***,precise dispersion management of the front-end seed light effectively compensates for the accumulated high-order dispersion in subsequent amplification *** strategic approach results in a significant reduction in the final output pulse duration for the coherently combined laser beam,reducing it from 488 to 260 fs after the gratings compressor,while concurrently enhancing the energy of the primary peak from 65%to 92%.

Tuning interface mechanism of FeCo alloy embedded N,S-codoped carbon substrate for rechargeable Zn-air battery

The interface mechanism between catalyst and carbon substrate has been the focus of *** this paper,the FeCo alloy embedded N,S co-doped carbon substrate bifunctional catalyst(FeCo/S-NC)is obtained by a simple one-step pyrolysis *** experimental results and density functional theory(DFT)calculation show that the formation of FeCo alloy is conducive to promoting electron transfer,and the introduction of S atom can enhance the interaction between FeCo alloy and carbon substrate,thus inhibiting the migration and agglomeration of particles on the surface of carbon *** FeCo/SNC catalysts show outstanding performance for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER).FeCo/S-NC shows a high half-wave potential(E_(1/2)=0.8823 V)for ORR and a low overpotential at 10 mA cm^(-2)(E_(j=10)=299 mV)for *** addition,compared with Pt/C+RuO_(2) assembled Zn-air battery(ZAB),the FeCo/S-NC assembled ZAB exhibits a larger power density(198.8 mW cm^(-2)),a higher specific capacity(786.1 mA h g_(zn)~(-1)),and ultra-stable cycle *** results confirm that the optimized composition and the interfacial interaction between catalyst and carbon substrate synergistically enhance the electrochemical performance.
