The intrinsic activity of Co(OH)_(2) for oxygen evolution reaction(OER)may be elaborately improved through the suitable valence *** modification at electronic level is proved to be an efficient strategy owing to the flexible transformation of Ce^(3+)/Ce4+.Herein,Ce0.21@Co(OH)_(2) with the optimized Ce doping have been fabricated to tailor the fast electron transfer for the enhanced activity and stability for ***,the obtained core-shell structure composed of vertical loose Co(OH)_(2) sheets not only exposes a large number of active sites,but also provides channels for Ce ***,the high pressure microwave with instantaneous heating can fast introduce Ce into Co(OH)_(2),obtaining Cex@Co(OH)_(2) with well dispersion and close *** intimated interaction between Ce and Co species may provide the"d-f electronic ladders"for accelerating electron transfer of the catalytic ***,Ce promotes the formation of Co-superoxide intermediate and/or the release of oxygen,which is considered to be the rate-determining step for *** electrochemical measurements confirmed the low overpotential of 300 m V at 10 m A cm^(-2) and great stability of Ce0.21@Co(OH)_(2) for *** work demonstrates a meaningful approach to realize the tuned electronic structure through metal doping.

Organs in our body have formed their own unique immune surveillance system that is finely tuned by in situ milieu. Sequestrated tissue-resident immune cells differ from their counterparts in circulation and participate in tissue physiological activities and the maintenance of local homeostasis. Dysregulation of regional immunity leads to organ-specific inflammatory injuries. Here we review the recent developments in the field of tissue-resident immune cells and organ-specific regional immunity, and discuss their clinical implication.

A curcumin derivative ligand,1,7-bis(3-methoxyl-4-acetoxyl)phenyl-1,6-heptadiene-3,5-diketone (diacetylcurcumin,abbreviated as HL),and its Cu and Ni complexes have been synthesized and fully characterized by elemental analyses,IR,1 HNMR and molar *** resulting complexes exhibit two-photon excited fluorescence (TPEF) in DMF,and have been proven to be potentially useful for two-photon microscopy imaging in living *** addition,cytotoxicity tests showed that the low-micromolar concentrations of ML 2 did not cause significant reduction in cell viability over a period of at least 24 h and should be safe for further biological studies.

AIM: To systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of endoscopic resection of gastrointestinal smooth muscle tumors (SMTs, including leiomyoma and leiomyosarcoma) and to review our preliminary experiences on endoscopic diagnosis of gastrointestinal SMTs. METHODS: A total of 69 patients with gastrointestinal SMT underwent routine endoscopy in our department. Endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) was also performed in 9 cases of gastrointestinal SMT. The sessile submucosal gastrointestinal SMTs with the base smaller than 2 cm in diameter were resected by "pushing" technique or "grasping and pushing" technique while the pedunculated SMTs were resected by polypectomy. For those SMTs originating from muscularis propria or with the base size ≥ 2 cm, ordinary biopsy technique was performed in tumors with ulcers while the "Digging" technique was performed in those without ulcers. RESULTS: 54 cases of leiomyoma and 15 cases of leiomyosarcoma were identified. In them, 19 cases of submucosal leiomyoma were resected by "pushing" technique and 10 cases were removed by "grasping and pushing" technique. Three cases pedunculated submucosal leiomyoma were resected by polypectomy. No severe complications developed during or after the procedure. No recurrence was observed. The diagnostic accuracy of ordinary and the "Digging" biopsy technique was 90.0% and 94.1%, respectively. CONCLUSION: Endoscopic resection is a safe and effective treatment for leiomyomas with the base size ≤2 cm. The "digging" biopsy technique would be a good option for histologic diagnosis of SMTs.

Soft machines are combinations of hard and soft active materials, thus the coupling and interaction between soft and hard components dictate the performance of soft machines. Structural optimization has been intensively used for design of conventional hard machines, while, to our best knowledge, few attempts have been made towards optimal design of soft machines. Here, we describe the sizing optimization problem of a dielectric elastomer(DE) actuated mechanical amplifier, and achieve the optimal design through combination of a commercial finite element method(FEM) software and an optimization automation *** then design, fabricate and demonstrate a locomotive soft machine driven by DE actuator with amplified displacement *** methodology and results present here open the door towards optimal designs of active materials based soft machines.

In this paper, an algorithm for unconstrained optimization that employs both trust region techniques and curvilinear searches is proposed. At every iteration, we solve the trust region subproblem whose radius is generated adaptively only once. Nonmonotonic backtracking curvilinear searches are performed when the solution of the subproblem is unacceptable. The global convergence and fast local convergence rate of the proposed algorithms are established under some reasonable conditions. The results of numerical ＇experiments are reported to show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.

Effect of Star-shaped Chain Architectures on the Polylactide Stereocomplex Crystallization Behaviors

Linear and star-shaped polylactides（PLA） with similar molecular weights of each arm are synthesized via ringopening polymerization of LA with 3-butyn-1-ol and pentaerythritol as initiators,*** solution blending of equivalent mass of poly（L-lactic acid）s（PLLAs） and poly（D-lactic acid）s（PDLAs）,perfect PLA stereocomplexes（sc PLAs） are prepared and confirmed by WAXD and FTIR *** of chain architectures on stereocomplex crystallization is investigated by studying the non-isothermal and isothermal crystallization of linear and star-shaped polylactide *** dynamic DSC and POM test,star-shaped PLLA（4s PLLA）/PDLA and PLLA/star-shaped PDLA（4s PDLA） stereocomplexes reach rapid crystallization and higher crystallinity due to larger spherulite density of star-shaped chain and excellent chain mobility of linear *** isothermal crystallization test,much faster crystallization and less crystallization half-time is obtained with the increase of star-shaped ***,4s PLLA/PDLA and PLLA/4s PDLA are found to have the highest crystallinity,suggesting limitation of too much star-shaped chain for 4s PLLA/4s PDLA and restriction of linear chain in nucleation capacity for PLLA/*** results reveal that star-shaped chain has an important influence on the crystallization of sc PLAs.

Full-color emissive carbon dots(CDs)hold a great promise for various applications,especially in light emitting diodes(LEDs).However,the existing synthetic routes for CDs are carried out in solutions,which suffer from low yields,high pressures,various byproducts,large amounts of waste solvents,and complicated photoluminescence(PL)***,it is necessary to explore large scale synthesis of CDs with high quantum yield(QY)across the entire visible range from a single carbon source by a solvent-free *** this work,a series of CDs with tunable PL emission from 442 to 621 nm,QY of 23%-56%,and production yield within 34%-72%,are obtained by heating o-phenylenediamine with the catalysis of *** characterizations identify that,the differences between these CDs with respect to the graphitization degree,graphitic nitrogen content,and oxygen-containing functional groups,are responsible for their distinct optical properties,which can be modulated by controlling the deamination and dehydrogenation processes during ***,green,yellow,red emissive films,and LEDs are prepared by dispersing the corresponding CDs into polyvinyl alcohol(PVA).All types of white LEDs(WLEDs)with high colorrendering-index(CRI),including warm WLEDs,standard WLEDs,and cool WLEDs,are also fabricated by mixing the red,green,and blue emissive CDs into PVA matrix by the appropriate ratios.

The synthesis and structure-property correlation of poly（N-（2-hydroxypropyl） methacrylamide）（PHPMA） conjugates with various architectures including random, block, branched or star-like structures and compositions have been thoroughly explored. However, related synthesis and structure-property data are still lacking for comb-like PHPMA. In this work, we report the synthesis of comb-like PHPMA copolymer-doxorubicin （DOX） conjugates with different backbone/side-chain lengths and location of drug moieties. Well-defined comb-like PHPMA-DOX conjugates are obtained via the combination of controlled radical polymerization and fractional precipitation techniques. The influences of structural factors on the biological properties such as cellular uptake, blood circulation and tumor accumulation have been investigated. Long blood circulation and efficient tumor accumulation can be achieved by proper control of the comb number, length and location of drug moieties. These facile comb-like structures possess great potentials in future theranostics for brachytherapy or surgical navigation.

Anodic-Cathodic Electrocatalytic Degradation of Phenol with Oxygen Sparged in the Presence of Iron(Ⅱ)

Under oxygen sparged, the synergetic effects of both anodic cathodic electrocatalysis(ACE) and ferrous ion catalyzed anodic cathodic electrocatalysis(FeACE) on phenol degradation were observed in an undivided cell composed of a β PbO 2 anode modified with fluorine resin and a nickel chromium titanium alloy net cathode. Oxygen sparging rate, ferrous concentration, and current significantly affect phenol destruction. The phenol was removed by 10%-13% increasingly under FeACE vs . ACE, and by 12%-15% under ACE vs . anodic electrocatalysis(AE). The phenol destruction was due to the formation of hydroxyl oxidant on the surface of lead oxide at the anode and the reduction of oxygen at the cathode.
