In this work,the influence of the Zener-Hollomon(Z)parameter on the microstructure and mechanical properties of copper subjected to friction stir welding(FSW)was *** N2 cooling was conducted to control the cooling rate after the *** obtained results demonstrate that the Z parameter was dependent on the tool rotation rate during the FSW,i.e.,a higher tool rotating rate resulted in a lower Z *** grain size in the stir zone decreased with the increase in the Z *** relationship between the yield strength and the Z parameter is established asσ0.2=σ0+*** relationship exhibited two different plots under the conditions of air cooling and liquid N2 *** at a similar Z parameter,a significant yield strength difference occurred because massive dislocations,which were caused by the prevention of the post-annealing effect,were maintained in the stir *** study suggests that the influence of the post-annealing effect should not be neglected when analyzing the relationship between the Z parameter,micro structure,and mechanical properties.

Differences of Physicochemical Properties Between Chalky and Translucent Parts of Rice Grains

Rice grain chalkiness is an important characteristic,but the difference between chalky and translucent parts in grains is still ***,we investigated the differences of flour made from the chalky or translucent part of rice grains in three indica and three japonica rice *** chalky flour had significantly lower amylose and protein contents and looser starch granule morphology,and starches in the chalky flour had higher relative crystallinity,higher short chain content but lower long chain content than those in the translucent *** water states,determined with nuclear magnetic resonance,differed between the chalky and translucent flour after soaking,cooking and retrograding,and the chalky flour had more bound and free water but less constructural water than the translucent ***,the chalky flour had lower viscosity and shorter gel consistency,but higher onset temperature and gelatinization enthalpy than the translucent *** results indicated that starch granule morphology would be more indicative than other attributions on pasting and gelatinization properties of chalky and translucent parts of rice grains.

Cisplatin and other platinum-based drugs are used frequently for treatment of lung cancer. However, their clinical performance are usually limited by drug resistance or toxic effects. Carnosic acid, a polyphenolic diterpene isolated from Rosemary(Rosemarinus officinalis), has been reported to have several pharmacological and biological activities. In the present study, the combination effect of cisplatin plus carnosic acid on mouse LLC(Lewis lung cancer) xenografts and possible underlying mechanism of action were examined. LLC-bearing mice were treated with intraperitoneal injection with cisplatin, oral gavage with carnosic acid, or combination with cisplatin and carnosic acid, respectively. Combination of carnosic acid and cisplatin yielded significantly better anti-growth and pro-apoptotic effects on LLC xenografts than drugs alone. Mechanistic study showed that carnosic acid treatment boosted the function of CD8^+T cells as evidenced by higher IFN-γ secretion and higher expression of FasL, perforin as well as granzyme B. In the meantime, the proportion of MDSC(myeloid-derived suppressor cells) in tumor tissues were reduced by carnosic acid treatment and the mRNA levels of iNOS2, Arg-1, and MMP9, which are the functional markers for MDSC, were reduced. In conclusion, our study proved that the functional suppression of MDSC by carnosic acid promoted the lethality of CD8^+T cells, which contributed to the enhancement of anti-lung cancer effect of cisplatin.

A heterodimer of two nuclear receptors,ecdysone receptor(EcR)and ultraspiracle,mediates 20‐hydroxyecdysone(20E)signaling to modulate many aspects in insect life,such as molting and metamorphosis,reproduction,diapause and innate *** the present paper,we intended to determine the isoform‐specific roles of EcR during larval–pupal–adult transition in the Colorado potato ***‐stranded RNAs(dsRNAs)were prepared using the common(dsEcR)or isoform‐specific(dsEcRA,dsEcRB1)regions of EcR as *** of either dsEcR or dsEcRA,rather than dsEcRB1,by the penultimate(3rd)and final(4th)instar larvae caused failure of larval–pupal and pupal–adult *** RNA interference(RNAi)larvae remained as prepupae,or became deformed pupae and *** of messenger RNA(mRNA)levels of EcR isoforms found that LdEcRA regulates the expression of ***,silencing the two EcR transcripts,LdEcRA or LdEcRB1 reduced the mRNA levels of Ldspo and Ldsad,and lowered 20E *** contrast,the expression levels of HR3,HR4,E74 and E75 were significantly decreased in the LdEcR or LdEcRA RNAi larvae,but not in LdEcRB1 depleted *** supplement with 20E did not restore the expression of five 20E signaling genes(USP,HR3,HR4,E74 and E75),and only partially alleviated the pupation defects in dsEcR‐or dsEcRA‐fed *** data suggest that EcR plays isoform‐specific roles in the regulation of ecdysteroidogenesis and the transduction of 20E signal in ***.

In this study,NbTaTiV refractory high-entropy alloys(RHEAs) reinforced with dispersed oxides were successfully designed and fabricated by mechanical alloying and subsequent spark plasma sintering(SPS).The effects of Y_(2)O_(3) content on the microstructure and mechanical properties have been systematically *** results show that the oxide dispersion strengthening(ODS) RHEAs are mainly composed of body centered cubic(BCC) matrix and multiscale oxides,including submicron Ti-(N,O) particles,nano-sized Y-Ti-O particles and nano-sized Y_(2)O_(3) *** ODS-RHEAs have excellent mechanical properties due to the multisc ale *** the content of Y_(2)O_(3) increasing from 1 wt% to 3 wt% Y_(2)O_(3),the compressive yield strength of the ODSRHEAs significantly increases from 1528 to 1866 MPa,while the fracture strain slightly reduces from 22% to 16%.The enhancement of the mechanical property is mainly attributed to the increased amount of multisc ale oxide particles and the refined grain structure.

Calculation and decomposition of regional household energy consumption in China:based on perspectives of urbanization and residents' consumption

Demographic urbanization caused great changes in scale of residents' consumption and residents' lifestyle and then impacted changes of regional household energy consumption. This paper expanded Logarithmic Mean Decomposition Index method through introducing variables of urbanization and residential consumption into the model. It also analyzed the influences of six factors as energy structure, energy intensity, population scale, urbanization, residential consumption, and consumption inhibit on regional household energy consumption. Results showed that in 2003-2012, impact of urbanization on regional household energy consumption of Chinese three areas was significantly higher than population size. The "population gathered in eastern region" phenomenon caused eastern region getting the largest population scale effect. Driving force of residential consumption on regional household energy consumption was much higher than the other five effects. Due to the comparative advantage of residential consumption compared with government consumption, investment, and net export, the decrease of consumption ratio promoted the growth of regional household energy consumption. Energy intensity in Chinese three regions kept reducing in 2003-2012. The progress of energy utilization technology slowed the growth of regional household energy consumption, and energy intensity effect was most significant in the central region.

The Middle Devonian ostracods from the Jiwozhai patch reef in Dushan, Guizhou Province, South China were described for the first time in this study. Twenty-nine species belonging to 20 genera were identified and figured, including a new species named Wangshangkia jiwozhaiensis sp. nov. The ostracod fauna in the Jiwozhai patch reef represents a Givetian age. The ostracod assemblage belongs to the smooth-podocopid association, which is also ecologically equivalent to the Eifelian Mega-Assemblage Ⅲ. This association is indicative of shallow open-marine environments. The Jiwozhai patch reef fauna is primarily comprised of suspension feeders, including filter-feeding ostracods, corals, brachiopods and bryozoans. Ostracods from the Jiwozhai patch reef were compared to the ostracod faunas from Laurentia-Baltica at generic level, which reveals limited faunal exchanges between South China and Laurentia-Baltica during the Middle Devonian.

This paper presents a model for simulating crowd evacuation and investigates three widely recognized problems. For the space continuity problem, this paper presents two computation algorithms： one uses grid space to evaluate the coordinates of the obstacle＇s bounding box and the other employs the geometry rule to establish individual evacuation routes. For the problem of collision, avoidance, and excess among the individuals, this paper computes the generalized force and friction force and then modifies the direction of march to obtain a speed model based on the crowd density and real time speed. For the exit selection problem, this paper establishes a method of selecting the exits by combining the exit＇s crowd state with the individuals. Finally, a particle system is used to simulate the behavior of crowd evacuation and produces useful test results.
