A novel method for modeling the phase change of iron ore particles in the cohesive zone of a blast furnace

Cohesive zone plays a vital role in the stable operation of a blast furnace(BF),yet the complex phase change process of iron ore particles in this zone is still not well *** this study,a novel one-dimensional(1D)unsteady phase change model was developed to elucidate the heat transfer and melting mechanisms of iron ore *** model validation,the effects of several key operating parameters(e.g.,particle diameter,gas velocity,initial temperature)on the phase change behavior of iron ore particles were analyzed,and the joint effect of multiple parameters was *** results show that larger-sized iron ore particles possess lower specific surface areas,which in turn reduces their convective heat absorption ***,the distance from the solid-liquid phase interface to the particle surface increases,thereby slowing down the movement of the phase interface and pro-longing the melting duration of the *** the gas velocity and the initial temperature does not have a significant impact on reducing the duration of the complete melting *** the specified conditions,it is observed that increasing the gas velocity by 3-fold and 9-fold results in a reduction of the melting duration by 2.4%and 8.3%,*** the initial temperature of iron ore particles results in a decrease in the core-to-surface temperature difference,a slower heating rate,and a shorter duration to achieve *** the factors affecting the melting process,the particle diameter is found to be the most significant in terms of the liquid phase precipitation,mushy zone thickness,and core-to-surface temperature difference of iron ore particles.

Porous carbon fibers are promising cathodes for zinc-ion hybrid supercapacitors(ZHSs)owing to their abundant active sites,great conductivity,and stable physical and chemical ***,designing a proper preparation technique to regulate the microstructure of carbon fibers still remains a great ***,a poly vinylpyrrolidone/po-lyacry lonitrile(PVP/PAN)-derived porous carbon fiber is developed via the PVP/PAN blend electrospinning and hydrothermal selective PVP removal *** hydrothermal selective PVP removal strategy can effectively avoid a cross-linking between PVP and PAN during the traditional stabilization at air *** PVP/PAN-derived porous carbon fiber,the sufficient micropores provide abundant space for the Zn^(2+)storage,whereas the proper mesopores contribute to the fast ion *** hierarchical porous structures endow ZHSs with high specific capacity and high-rate *** ZHS assembled with the optimal PVP/PAN-derived porous carbon fiber(PVP-PANC-0.8)displays an outstanding specific capacity of 208 mAh·g^(-1),high rate capability(49.5%)from 0.5 to 5 A·g^(-1),and 72.25%capacity retention after 10,000 cycles at 0.5 A·g^(-1).

Colorectal cancer(CRC),a multifactorial disease,is usually induced and developed through complex mechanisms,including impact of diet and lifestyle,genomic abnormalities,change of signaling pathways,inflammatory response,oxidation stress,dysbiosis,and so *** natural polyphenolic phytochemicals that exist primarily in tea,tea polyphenols(TPs)have been shown to have many clinical applications,especially as anticancer *** animal studies and epidemiological studies have demonstrated that TPs can prevent and treat *** can inhibit the growth and metastasis of CRC by exerting the antiinflammatory,anti-oxidative or pro-oxidative,and pro-apoptotic effects,which are achieved by modulations at multiple *** experiments have demonstrated that TPs can modulate several signaling pathways in cancer cells,including the mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway,phosphatidylinositol-3 kinase/Akt pathway,Wnt/β-catenin pathway,and 67 kDa laminin receptor pathway,to inhibit proliferation and promote cell *** addition,novel studies have also suggested that TPs can prevent the growth and metastasis of CRC by modulating the composition of gut microbiota to improve immune system and decrease inflammatory *** pathological epidemiology,a novel multidisciplinary investigation,has made great progress on CRC,and the further molecular pathological epidemiology research should be developed in the field of TPs and *** review summarizes the existing in vitro and in vivo animal and human studies and potential mechanisms to examine the effects of tea polyphenols on CRC.

Base station(BS)backup batteries(BSBBs),with their dispatchable capacity,are potential demand-side resources for future power *** enhance the power supply reliability and post-contingency frequency security of power systems,we propose a two-stage stochastic unit commitment(UC)model incorporating operational reserve and post-contingency frequency support provisions from massive BSBBs in cellular networks,in which the minimum backup energy demand is considered to ensure BS power supply *** energy,operational reserve,and frequency support ancillary services are co-optimized to handle the power balance and post-contingency frequency security in both forecasted and stochastic variable renewable energy(VRE)***,we propose a dedicated and scalable distributed optimization framework to enable autonomous optimizations for both dispatching center(DC)and *** BS model parameters are stored and processed locally,while only the values of BS decision variables are required to upload to DC under the proposed distributed optimization framework,which safeguards BS privacy *** studies on a modified IEEE 14-bus system demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in promoting VRE accommodation,ensuring post-contingency frequency security,enhancing operational economics,and fully utilizing BSBBs'energy and power ***,the proposed distributed optimization framework has been validated to converge to a feasible solution with near-optimal performance within limited ***,numerical results on the Guangdong 500 kV provincial power system in China verify the scalability and practicality of the proposed distributed optimization framework.

BACKGROUND In recent years,the incidence of cervical cancer has increased with increasing life pressures and changes in women's social roles,posing a serious threat to women's physical and mental *** To explore the clinical effect of Endo combined with concurrent radiotherapy and chemotherapy in the treatment of advanced cervical squamous cell *** A total of 120 patients admitted to the oncology department of our hospital were selected as the research *** were equally divided into the test group and the control group(60 patients each)with a random number *** test group was treated with Endo combined with concurrent radiotherapy and chemotherapy,and the control group was treated with concurrent radiotherapy and *** compared the serum thymidine kinase 1(TK1),human epididymis protein 4(HE4),vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),and squamous cell carcinoma-associated antigen(SCC-Ag)levels,the clinical effects and survival before and after radiotherapy and chemotherapy,the quality score,and the 3-year follow-up outcomes between the two *** After chemotherapy,the complete remission+partial remission rate was 85.00%in the test group and 68.33%in the control group;the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Before chemotherapy,the serum TK1,HE4,VEGF,and SCC-Ag levels of the two groups were not significantly different(P>0.05).After chemotherapy,the levels of serum TK1(1.27±0.40 pmol/L),HE4(81.4±24.0 pmol/L),VEGF(235.1±38.0 pg/mL),and SCC-Ag(1.76±0.55 ng/mL)were lower than those in the control group[TK1(1.58±0.51 pmol/L),HE4(98.0±28.6)pmol/L,VEGF(284.2±54.1 pg/mL),and SCC-Ag(2.34±0.78 ng/mL)].The difference was statistically significant(P0.05).After chemotherapy,the physical,role,mood,cognitive and social scores were higher in the test group than in t

Photocatalytic technology has been widely adopted to address the issue of air pollution. The separation of photogenerated carriers and the activation of reactants on catalyst surface are the main factors that affect the photocatalytic efficiency. Here, the phosphate/potassium(PO_4/K) cofunctionalized carbon nitride(labeled as PO_4-CN-K) was synthesized via a one-step in situ copyrolysis of thiourea and potassium phosphate. The unique electronic structure of PO_4-CN-K could significantly improve the performance of photocatalytic NO purification. The enhanced activity of PO_4-CN-K can be attributed to the promoted activation capacity for O_2, NO and H_2O on the catalyst surface,the decreased of carriers recombination, benefiting from the co-functionalization of phosphate groups on the surface of CN and the construction of K channels between CN layers. The photocatalytic NO conversion pathway is disclosed through time-dependent in situ FT-IR, indicating that PO_4-CN-K can efficiently convert NO molecules into harmless nitrate via the NO→NO+→nitrate/nitrite routes. The research provides a novel strategy to impel the development of photocatalytic technology for efficient air purification.
