BACKGROUND There are few reported cases of allograft nephrectomy due to malignancy followed by successful renal re-transplantation two years *** this paper,we report a patient who underwent kidney re-transplantation after living donor graft nephrectomy due to de novo chromophobe renal cell carcinoma(ChRCC)involving the allograft *** SUMMARY A 34-year-old man underwent living kidney transplantation at the age of 22 years for end-stage renal *** immunosuppression consisted of tacrolimus,mycophenolate mofetil(MMF),and *** years posttransplantation,at another hospital,ultrasonography revealed a small mass involving the upper pole of the *** patient declined further examination and treatment at this *** years and three months post-transplantation,the patient experienced decreasing appetite,weight loss,gross hematuria,fatigue,and *** tests showed anemia(hemoglobin level was 53 g/L).Contrast-enhanced computed tomography revealed a large heterogeneous cysticsolid mass involving the upper pole of the renal *** nephrectomy was performed and immunosuppressants were *** and immunohistochemical features of the tumor were consistent with *** year after allograft nephrectomy,low doses of tacrolimus and MMF were administered for preventing *** years after allograft nephrectomy,the patient underwent kidney *** function remained stable with no ChRCC recurrence in more than 2-years of *** De novo ChRCC in kidney graft generally has a good prognosis after graft nephrectomy and withdrawal of *** re-transplantation could be a viable treatment.A 2-year malignancy-free period may be sufficient time before re-transplantation.

BACKGROUND Mutations in the beta1,3-N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase 2(B3GALNT2)gene can lead to impaired glycosylation ofα-dystroglycan,which,in turn,causes congenital muscular dystrophy(CMD).The clinical phenotypes of CMD are broad,and there are only a few reports of CMD *** SUMMARY This report describes the cases of two children with CMD caused by B3GALNT2 gene *** main manifestations of the two cases were abnormal walking posture,language development delay,and abnormal development of the white *** 2 also had unreported symptoms of meningocele and giant arachnoid *** cases had compound heterozygous mutations of the B3GALNT2 gene,each containing a truncated mutation and a missense mutation,and three of the four loci had not been *** patients with CMD caused by B3GALNT2 gene mutation were found in the *** and analysis of the characteristics of CMD caused by B3GALNT2 gene mutation showed that 100%of the cases had nervous system *** magnetic resonance imaging often showed abnormal manifestations,and more than half of the children had eye and muscle involvement;some of the gene-related symptoms were *** B3GALNT2 gene can be used as one of the candidate genes for screening CMD,cognitive development retardation,epilepsy,and multiple brain developmental malformations in infants.

The monomer agglomeration of nonmetallic inclusions was simulated with a diffusion limited aggregation （DLA） model of the fractal theory. The simulation study with a random two-dimensional diffusion was carried out. The results indicate that the DLA model can be used for the simulation of agglomeration behavior of the cluster-type inclusions. The morphology of clusters was observed with SEM and compared with the simulated agglomerates. The modelling procedure of the DLA model is applicable for the agglomeration process. The uncertainty of agglomeration process and the persuasive average agglomerative ratio was analyzed. The factors about the agglomerative ratio with the collision path distance and the size of particles or seed were discussed. The adherence of the nonmetallic inclusions on the dam, the weir and the walls of a tundish, and the absorption of inclusions by stopper or nozzle were also discussed.

Plant-derived carbon(C)inputs via foliar litter,root litter and root exudates are key drivers of soil organic C ***,the responses of these three input pathways to climate warming have rarely been studied in alpine *** employing a 3-year warming experiment(increased by 1.3℃),we investigated the effects of warming on the relative C contributions from foliar litter,root litter and root exudates from Sibiraea angustata,a dominant shrub species in an alpine shrubland on the eastern Qinghai-Tibetan *** soil organic C inputs from foliar litter,root litter and root exudates were 77.45,90.58 and 26.94 g C m^(-2),*** only slightly increased the soil organic C inputs from foliar litter and root litter by 8.04 and 11.13 g C m^(-2),but significantly increased the root exudate C input by 15.40 g C m^(-2).Warming significantly increased the relative C contributions of root exudates to total C inputs by 4.6%but slightly decreased those of foliar litter and root litter by 2.5%and 2.1%,*** results highlight that climate warming may stimulate plant-derived C inputs into soils mainly through root exudates rather than litter in alpine shrublands on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau.

Objective:To study the expression of miRNA 320 a in the brain tissue of epileptic rats and analyze its effect on the expression of aquaporin 4(AQP4).Methods:All rats were performed with the intraperitoneal injection of lithium chloride(3 mmol/kg) and then the intraperitoneal injection of pilocarpine(30 mg/kg) 24 h later(injected twice) to prepare the epileptic model of Wistar *** in the control group were injected with the equal volume of normal *** to the Racine scale,rats with over stage 3 of epilepsy were chosen and the brain tissue was separated quickly and then stored at-80 ℃.The immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of aquaporin in the brain tissue of epileptic model and the Real-time PCR was employed to determine the difference in the expression of miRNA 320 a and AQP4 in the brain tissue of rats between the epileptic model group and control *** 5-day neonatal Wistar rats were chosen to collect the cerebral cortex and their primary astrocytes were separated and *** were transfected with miRNA mimic and imitated to the endogenous miRNA 320 a to up-regulate the expression of miRNA 320 ***:In the model group,the expression of AQP4 was significantly higher than the control group(P<0.01).However,the expression of miRNA 320 a in the model group was lower than control group(P<0.05),which was negatively correlated to *** the primary astrocytes,the transfection of miRNA 320 a mimic could significantly reduce the expression of AQP4,while its inhibitor could up-regulate the expression of AQP4,which indicated that miRNA 320 a could reduce the expression of ***:In the primary astrocytes of rats,the miRNA 320 a could inhibit the expression of AQP4 and after adding the inhibitor of miRNA 320 a,the expression of AQP4 was up-regulated.

Bilayer graphene quantum dots with rotational stacking faults(RSFs) having different rotational angles were *** the first-principles calculation, we determined that these stacking faults could quantitatively modulate the magnetism and the distribution of spin and energy levels in the electronic structures of the *** addition, by examining the spatial distribution of unpaired spins and Bader charge analysis, we found that the main source of magnetic moment originated from the edge atoms of the quantum *** research results can potentially provide a new path for producing all-carbon nanodevices with different electrical and magnetic properties.

Statistical extremes and peak factors in wind-induced vibration of tall buildings

In the structural design of tall buildings, peak factors have been widely used to predict mean extreme responses of tall buildings under wind excitations. Vanmarcke＇s peak factor is directly related to an explicit measure of structural reliability against a Gaussian response process. We review the use of this factor for time-variant reliability design by comparing it to the conven- tional Davenport＇s peak factor. Based on the asymptotic theory of statistical extremes, a new closed-form peak factor, the so-called Gamma peak factor, can be obtained for a non-Gaussian resultant response characterized by a Rayleigh distribution process. Using the Gamma peak factor, a combined peak factor method was developed for predicting the expected maximum resultant responses of a building undergoing lateral-torsional vibration. The effects of the standard deviation ratio of two sway components and the inter-component correlation on the evaluation of peak resultant response were also investigated. Utilizing wind tunnel data derived from synchronous multi-pressure measurements, we carried out a wind-induced time history response analysis of the Common- wealth Advisory Aeronautical Research Council （CAARC） standard tall building to validate the applicability of the Gamma peak factor to the prediction of the peak resultant acceleration. Results from the building example indicated that the use of the Gamma peak factor enables accurate predictions to be made of the mean extreme resultant acceleration responses for dynamic service- ability performance design of modem tall buildings.

The biological effects of magnetic fields(MFs)have been a controversial ***,in recent years,there has been increasing evidence that MFs do affect biological ***,the physical mechanism remains ***,we show that MFs(16 T)reduce apoptosis in cell lines by inhibiting liquid–liquid phase separation(LLPS)of Tau-441,suggesting that the MF effect on LLPS may be one of the mechanisms for understanding the“mysterious”magnetobiological *** LLPS of Tau-441 occurred in the cytoplasm after induction with *** phase-separated droplets of Tau-441 recruited hexokinase(HK),resulting in a decrease in the amount of free HK in the *** cells,HK and Bax compete to bind to the voltage-dependent anion channel(VDAC I)on the mitochondrial membrane.A decrease in the number of free HK molecules increased the chance of Bax binding to VDAC I,leading to increased Bax-mediated *** the presence of a static MF,LLPS was marked inhibited and HK recruitment was reduced,resulting in an increased probability of HK binding to VDAC I and a decreased probability of Bax binding to VDAC I,thus reducing Bax-mediated *** findings revealed a new physical mechanism for understanding magnetobiological effects from the perspective of *** addition,these results show the potential applications of physical environments,such as MFs in this study,in the treatment of LLPS-related diseases.
