Public auditing for real‑time medical sensor data in cloud‑assisted HealthIIoT system

With the advancement of industrial internet of things(IIoT),wireless medical sensor networks(WMSNs)have been widely introduced in modern healthcare systems to collect real-time medical data from patients,which is known as HealthIIoT.Considering the limited computing and storage capabilities of lightweight HealthIIoT devices,it is necessary to upload these data to remote cloud servers for storage and maintenance.However,there are still some serious security issues within outsourcing medical sensor data to the cloud.One of the most signifcant challenges is how to ensure the integrity of these data,which is a prerequisite for providing precise medical diagnosis and treatment.To meet this challenge,we propose a novel and efcient public auditing scheme,which is suitable for cloud-assisted HealthIIoT system.Specifcally,to address the contradiction between the high real-time requirement of medical sensor data and the limited computing power of HealthIIoT devices,a new online/ofine tag generation algorithm is designed to improve preprocessing efciency;to protect medical data privacy,a secure hash function is employed to blind the data proof.We formally prove the security of the presented scheme,and evaluate the performance through detailed experimental comparisons with the state-of-the-art ones.The results show that the presented scheme can greatly improve the efciency of tag generation,while achieving better auditing performance than previous schemes.

Belief Combination of Classifiers for Incomplete Data

Data with missing values,or incomplete information,brings some challenges to the development of classification,as the incompleteness may significantly affect the performance of classifiers.In this paper,we handle missing values in both training and test sets with uncertainty and imprecision reasoning by proposing a new belief combination of classifier(BCC)method based on the evidence theory.The proposed BCC method aims to improve the classification performance of incomplete data by characterizing the uncertainty and imprecision brought by incompleteness.In BCC,different attributes are regarded as independent sources,and the collection of each attribute is considered as a subset.Then,multiple classifiers are trained with each subset independently and allow each observed attribute to provide a sub-classification result for the query pattern.Finally,these sub-classification results with different weights(discounting factors)are used to provide supplementary information to jointly determine the final classes of query patterns.The weights consist of two aspects:global and local.The global weight calculated by an optimization function is employed to represent the reliability of each classifier,and the local weight obtained by mining attribute distribution characteristics is used to quantify the importance of observed attributes to the pattern classification.Abundant comparative experiments including seven methods on twelve datasets are executed,demonstrating the out-performance of BCC over all baseline methods in terms of accuracy,precision,recall,F1 measure,with pertinent computational costs.

Catalytic transformation of cellulose and its derived carbohydrates into chemicals involving C–C bond cleavage

The catalytic transformation of cellulose, the major component of abundant and renewable lignocellulosic biomass, into building-block chemicals is a key to establishing sustainable chemical processes. Cellulose is a polymer of glucose and a lot research effort has been devoted to the conversion of cellulose to six-carbon platform compounds such as glucose and glucose derivatives through C-O bond activation. There also ex- ist considerable studies on the catalytic cleavage of C-C bonds in biomass for the production of high-value chemicals, in particular polyols and organic acids such as ethylene glycol and lactic acid. This review article highlights recent advances in the development of new catalytic systems and new strategies for the selective cleavage of C-C bonds in cellulose and its derived carbohydrates under inert, reductive and oxidative atmospheres to produce Q -Cs polyols and organic acids. The key factors that influence the catalytic performance will be clarified to provide insights for the design of more efficient catalysts for the transformation of cellulose with precise cleavage of C-C bonds to high-value chemicals. The reaction mechanisms will also be discussed to understand deeply how the selective cleavage of C-C bonds can be achieved in biomass.

Catalytic transformation of cellulose into value-added chemicals is of great importance for utilization of renewable and abundant biomass. Due to the high oxygen content, cellulose serves as an ideal candidate for the production of oxygenates, in particular lactic acid which is a versatile building block in chemical industry. The efficient conversion of cellulose to lactic acid generally requires selective activation of specific C-O and C-C bonds, and therefore multifunctional catalysts that combine several key reactions including hydrolysis, isomerization and retro-aldol fragmentation are highly desirable. This review article highlights the recently developed catalytic systems and catalysts for the selective transformation of cellulose and cellulose-derived carbohydrates into lactic acid, lactates and/or its esters. Emphases will be put on the reaction mechanism and key factors that exert effects on the catalytic performances. In addition, the catalytic transformation of glycerol, a C3 compound over-supplied from biodiesel industry, will also be surveyed. Recent advances in the development of new catalysts or strategies are analyzed and discussed to gain insight into the transformation of C3 compound to lactic acid.

An efficient electrocatalytic system composed of nickel oxide and nitroxyl radical for the oxidation of bio-platform molecules to dicarboxylic acids

Selective oxidation of biomass and its derivatives to dicarboxylic acids represents a promising route for biomass valorization.However,the co-presence of multiple functional groups in biomass molecules makes the selective oxidation of particular functional a challenging task.Here,we demonstrate an efficient electrocatalytic system consisting of nickel oxide(NiO)and a nitroxyl radical,i.e.,2,2,6,6-tetrame thylpiperidine-1-oxyl(TEMPO)or 4-acetamido-TEMPO(ACT),for the selective oxidation of key bioplatform molecules including glucose,xylose and 5-hydroxymethylfurfural(HMF)into corresponding dicarboxylic acids,i.e.,glucaric acid,xylaric acid,and 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid(FDCA).NiO is clarified as the active catalyst for the oxidation of aldehyde in bio-platform molecules to carboxylic acid,while TEMPO or ACT is responsible for the oxidation of primary alcohol to aldehyde.The combination of NiO and TEMPO or ACT significantly accelerated the tandem oxidation of aldehyde and hydroxyl groups in glucose,xylose and HMF,thus achieving excellent yields(83%-99%)of dicarboxylic acids.Moreover,the combination catalyst enables the selective oxidation of glucose and xylose with high concentrations(e.g.,20 wt%),which offers a promising strategy for biomass valorization.

The transcription factor nuclear factor of kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells(NF-κB)is expressed in brown adipocytes,but its role remains largely unknown in the cells.This issue was addressed in current study by examining NF-κB in brown adipocytes in vitro and in vivo.NF-κB activity was increased by differentiation of brown adipocytes through elevation of p65(RelA)expression.The transcriptional activity of NF-κB was induced by the cold stimulation with an elevation in S276 phosphorylation of p65 protein.Inactivation of NF-κB in brown adipocytes made the knockout mice[uncoupling protein 1(Ucp1)-CreER-p65^(f/f),U-p65-KO]intolerant to the cold environment.The brown adipocytes exhibited an increase in apoptosis,a decrease in cristae density and uncoupling activity in the interscapular brown adipose tissue(iBAT)of p65-KO mice.The alterations became severer after cold exposure of the KO mice.The brown adipocytes of mice with NF-κB activation(p65 overexpression,p65-OE)exhibited a set of opposite alterations with a reduction in apoptosis,an increase in cristae density and uncoupling activity.In mechanism,NF-κB inhibited expression of the adenine nucleotide translocase 2(ANT2)in the control of apoptosis.Data suggest that NF-κB activity is increased in brown adipocytes by differentiation and cold stimulation to protect the cells from apoptosis through down-regulation of ANT2 expression.

Remote sensing retrieval of winter wheat leaf area index and canopy chlorophyll density at different growth stages

Leaf area index(LAI)and canopy chlorophyll density(CCD)are key indicators of crop growth status.In this study,we compared several vegetation indices and their red-edge modified counterparts to evaluate the optimal red-edge bands and the best vegetation index at different growth stages.The indices were calculated with Sentinel-2 MSI data and hyperspectral data.Their performances were validated against ground measurements using R2,RMSE,and bias.The results suggest that indices computed with hyperspectral data exhibited higher R2 than multispectral data at the late jointing stage,head emergence stage,and filling stage.Furthermore,rededge modified indices outperformed the traditional indices for both data genres.Inversion models indicated that the indices with short red-edge wavelengths showed better estimation at the early joint-ing and milk development stage,while indices with long red-edge wavelength estimate the sought variables better at the middle three stages.The results were consistent with the red-edge inflec-tion point shift at different growth stages.The best indices for Sentinel-2 LAI retrieval,Sentinel-2 CCD retrieval,hyperspectral LAI retrieval,and hyperspectral CCD retrieval at five growth stages were determined in the research.These results are beneficial to crop trait monitoring by providing references for crop biophysical and bio-chemical parameters retrieval.

Shenzhen stroke emergency map improves access to rt-PA for patients with acute ischaemic stroke

Prehospital delay is one of the major causes of low rate of intravenous recombinant tissue plasminogen activator(rt-PA)thrombolysis for acute ischaemic stroke in China.Regional emergency systems have been proven a successful approach to improve access to thrombolysis.Shenzhen is a high population density city with great geographical disparity of healthcare resources,leading to limited access to rt-PA thrombolysis for most patients with acute ischaemic stroke.To improve rapid access to rt-PA thrombolysis in Shenzhen,a Shenzhen stroke emergency map was implemented by Shenzhen healthcare administrations.This map comprised certification of qualified local hospitals,identification of patients with stroke,acute stroke transport protocol and maintenance of the map.We conducted a retrospective observational study to compare consecutive patients with acute stroke arriving at qualified local hospitals before and after implementation of the Shenzhen stroke emergency map.After implementation of the map,the rate of patients receiving rt-PA thrombolysis increased from 8.3%to 9.7%(p=0.003),and the rate of patients treated with endovascular thrombectomy increased from 0.9%to 1.6%(p<0.001).Sixteen of 20 hospitals have an increase in the number of patients with stroke treated with rt-PA thrombolysis.The median time between receipt of the call and arrival on the scene reduced significantly(17.0 min vs 9.0 min,p<0.001).In Shenzhen Second People's Hospital,the median onset-to-needle time and door-to-needle time were reduced(175.5 min vs 149.5 min,p=0.039;71.5 min vs 51.5 min,p<0.001).No statistically significant differences were found in the proportion of rt-PA-treated patients within various geographical distances.Currently,there are more than 40 cities in China implementing a stroke emergency map.The Shenzhen stroke emergency map improves access to rt-PA thrombolysis for acute ischaemic stroke,and the novel model has been expanded to multiple areas in China.Future efforts should be conducted to optimise the stroke emergency map.
