Recent progress in li-S and li-Se batteries

li–S and li–Se batteries have attracted tremendous attention during the past several decades, as the energy density of li–S and li–Se batteries is high（several times higher than that of traditional li-ion batteries）.Besides, li–S and li–Se batteries are low cost and environmental benign. However, the commercial applications of li–S and li–Se batteries are hindered by the dissolution and shuttle phenomena of polysulfide（polyselenium）, the low conductivity of S（Se）, etc. To overcome these drawbacks, scientists have come up with various methods, such as optimizing the electrolyte, synthesizing composite electrode of S/polymer, S/carbon, S/metal organic framework（MOF） and constructing novelty structure of *** this review, we present a systematic introduction about the recent progress of li–S and li–Se batteries, especially in the area of electrode materials, both of cathode material and anode material for li–S and li–Se batteries. In addition, other methods to lead a high-performance li–S and li–Se batteries are also briefly summarized, such as constructing novelty battery structure, adopting proper charge–discharge conditions, heteroatom doping into sulfur molecules, using different kinds of electrolytes and binders. In the end of the review, the developed directions of li–S and li–Se batteries are also pointed out. We believe that combining proper porous carbon matrix and heteroatom doping may further improve the electrochemical performance of li–S and li–Se batteries. We also believe that li–S and li–Se batteries will get more exciting results and have promising future by the effort of battery community.

Fermentation Performance and Characterization of Cold-Adapted lipase Produced with Pseudomonas lip35

Strain of Pseudomonas lip35 producing lipase was isolated in a refrigerator. lipase production and characterization of this strain were investigated under different conditions. The Pseudomonas was cultivated in shaking flasks in a fermentation medium in various nutritional and physical environments. lipase production has been influenced by the presence of yeast-extract, soybean powder, NaCI, and Tween-80. Maximum lipase productivity was obtained when the physical environment of the fermentation medium was optimal for 67 h. The production of lipase reached 58.9 U·mL^-1. The lipase of Pseudomonas lip35 can be considered to be inducible, but the inducer had little influence on the production of lipase. The lipase was characterized and showed high lipolytic activity from pH 7.5-8.0. The optimum temperature was observed at 20℃ and the thermal inactivation of lipase was obvious at 60℃. The lipase activity was inhibited by K＋, stimulated by Ca^2＋, and thermostability decreased in the presence of Ca^2＋, therefore the lipase was Ca^2＋ -dependent cold-adapted enzyme.

Network analysis and spatial agglomeration of China’s high-speed rail: A dual network approach

China has the largest high-speed railway(HSR) system in the world, and it has gradually reshaped the urban *** HSR system can be represented as different types of networks in terms of the nodes and various relationships(i.e.,linkages) between them. In this paper, we first introduce a general dual network model, including a physical network(PN)and a logical network(LN) to provide a comparative analysis for China’s high-speed rail network via complex network theory. The PN represents a layout of stations and rail tracks, and forms the basis for operating all trains. The LN is a network composed of the origin and destination stations of each high-speed train and the train flows between them. China’s high-speed railway(CHSR) has different topological structures and link strengths for PN in comparison with the LN. In the study, the community detection is used to analyze China’s high-speed rail networks and several communities are found to be similar to the layout of planned urban agglomerations in China. Furthermore, the hierarchies of urban agglomerations are different from each other according to the strength of inter-regional interaction and intra-regional interaction, which are respectively related to location and spatial development strategies. Moreover, a case study of the Yangtze River Delta shows that the hub stations have different resource divisions and are major contributors to the gap between train departure and arrival flows.

Electrochemical Formation of AI-li Alloys by Codeposition of AI and li from liCI-KCI-AIF3 Melts at 853 K

The electrochemical behavior of AI（III） ions was studied in molten liC1-KC1 melts on a molybdenum electrode. Cyclic voltammetry, chronopotentiometry and chronoamperometry were used to explore the deposition mechanism of A1 and li. Cyclic voltammetry expriment indicates that under potential deposition（UPD） of lithium on pre-deposited aluminium led to the formation of liquid A1-li alloys at 853 K. The diffusion coefficient of AI（III） ions at 853 K in liC1-KC1-AIF3（I%, mass fraction） melts was determined to be （2.79~0.05）x 10_5 cm2/s. Chronopotentio- grams and chronoamperograms demonstrate that the codeposition of AI（III） and li（I） ions formed A1-li alloys at ca- thodic current densities higher than -0.28 A/cm2 or cathodic potentials more negative than -2.20 V. X-Ray diffrac- tion（XRD） pattern indicates that A1-li alloys with different phases formed via galvanostatic electrolysis. Inductively coupled plasma（ICP） analyses of the samples obtained by electrolysis show that lithium and aluminium contents of A1-li alloys could be controlled by A1F3 concentration and current intensity.

3D particle‐in‐cell simulation of positive streamer initiation in highly pressurized gaseous,liquid and supercritical CO_(2)with field ionization

A 3D particle‐in‐cell/Monte Carlo collision model is used to investigate the streamer discharge inception in CO_(2) at elevated pressures including gaseous, liquid and supercritical phases. Generation of free electrons is a prerequisite for initiation and development of positive streamers. Field ionization from impurity molecules of low density and low ionization energy is assumed as the source of primary ionization in the model. The field dependent generation rate of electrons is calculated by Zener's model. Tree‐like streamer with filamentary shape presents at the needle tip and propagates to-wards the plane electrode in all three phases of CO_(2), with differing in length and propagation speed. Furthermore, the influence of different parameters such as applied voltage, electrode tip size, and ionizable density and ionization potential of impurity molecules on the evolution of streamer discharge in supercritical CO_(2) are investigated. Simulation results obtained from the 3D model agree well with experimental observations in the literature, which show that field ionization might be one of possible ionization sources in pressurized CO_(2) in the presence of high electric field.

BACKGROUND Rearrangements of the anaplastic lymphoma kinase(ALK)gene(ALK-positive)represent an oncogenic driver in approximately 3%-5%of non-small-lung cancer(NSCLC)*** is a multisystem disease,and its reported incidence in Asia is 1 or less per 100000 people per *** co-occurrence of sarcoidosis and ALK-positive NSCLC is rare,and ALK-positive lung cancer is likely to spread ***,the co-occurrence of sarcoidosis is more easily misdiagnosed as metastatic lung cancer by radiological *** SUMMARY A 50-year-old man had a nodule in the left superior lobe,many small nodules in left superior and right lungs,and enlarged bilateral hilar,mediastinal,and right supraclavicular lymph *** tomography-guided pulmonary biopsy of the nodule in the left superior lobe revealed echinoderm microtubuleassociated protein-like 4 gene-ALK positive NSCLC with concomitant noncaseating *** patient was treated with *** days later,a chest computed tomography scan revealed a dramatic decrease in the size of the left superior lobe nodule;however,the lesions in the right lung *** right supraclavicular lymph nodes showed granulomas,and no tumor cells were identified in the specimens. The angiotensin-converting enzyme level was *** 1 wk of methylprednisolone treatment, a significant response of all lesionswas revealed. Following radical resection of the lung cancer, noncaseatinggranulomas were observed in both lung tissues and lymph nodes, which resultedin a diagnosis of echinoderm microtubule-associated protein-like 4-ALK positiveNSCLC accompanied with *** experience illustrates that pathological evidence is needed to confirmmetastatic disease, especially when some suspected metastatic lesions arenegative for malignancy.

Classical angiomyolipomas are benign tumors composed of various tissues, including fat, abnormal blood vessels and smooth muscle cells. The present study reports a male patient affected by mediastinal angiomyolipomas with massive chylous pleural effusion. The tumors were characterized with histological and immunohistochemical methods.

Spermatozoal protein profiles in male infertility with asthenozoospermia

Background Infertility is a major medical and social problem, and elementary research on the spermatozoal proteins and their functions are relatively scarce and there are very few confirmed and effective options for the treatment of male infertility. Thus, it is essential to find candidate proteins that affect male infertility. This study was designed to detect the proteins with differential expression in sperm from infertile patients and normal *** Semen samples from patients with idiopathic asthenozoospermia （n=114） and from fertile men with normal spermiograms （n=37） were collected. Semen sample analysis, sperm protein extraction, SDS-PAGE electrophoresis and Western blotting analysis were performed. Results were analyzed by SPSS 16.0 statistical *** Western blotting analysis of spermatic proteins displayed a major differentially expressed protein in spermatozoa from fertile and idiopathic asthenozoospermia patients. Densities and volumes of the identified protein in the patients were significantly decreased compared to normal donors （P=0.034 and P=0.036, respectively）. The protein was identified as DEAD-box protein 4 （DDX4, VASA）. The expression and correction value （CV） of DDX4/VASA in the patients was reduced significantly compared to normal donors （P=0.037 and P=0.031, respectively）.Conclusions The expression of spermatic protein DDX4/VASA associates with spermatic motility, implying that DDX4NASA may be a candidate marker for evaluation of spermatic motility.
