The chemical composition and high wear resistance of steel slag(SS)make it a potential alternative to traditional inorganic fillers.3-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane(KH550)modified steel slag(MSS)was successfully prepared,and its application in epoxy(EP)anti-corrosion coating was *** to the grafting of silane coupling agent functional groups onto the surface of SS,MSS exhibited improved solubility in xylene organic solvent and reduced *** the MSS content was 15 wt.%,the contact angle of the MSS/EP composite coating was 101°,and the abrasion was only 0.07 g,compared with 56.2°and 0.13 g,respectively,for the pure EP *** corrosion resistance of coatings was investigated by performing the electrochemical test(impedance)after immersion in a 3.5 wt.%NaCl *** electrochemical test results showed that the impedance modulus of the 15 wt.%MSS/EP composite coating at low frequency(Z_(f)=0.01 Hz)was approximately 1.08×10^(7)Ωcm^(2),which was two orders of magnitude higher than that of the pure EP coating.

Ultrafine steel slag powder(shield powder)was prepared by grinding ordinary steel slag with a functional *** a substitute for aluminum hydroxide,the shield powder was combined with rubber to prepare flame-retardant *** tests showed that the incorporation of shield powder enhances the crosslinkage of the composite and speeds up the curing *** gaseous products formed in the pyrolysis process are mainly *** and combustion tests revealed that the introduction of shield powder improves flame-retardant performance without sacrificing mechanical ***,the optimum substitution ratio of shield powder for aluminum hydroxide is 50.0%.In this case,the composite has the highest degree of graphitization and exhibits excellent flame-retardant performance.

Adult-onset mitochondrial encephalopathy in association with the MT-ND3 T10158C mutation exhibits unique characteristics: A case report

BACKGROUND Mitochondrial diseases are a heterogenous group of multisystemic disorders caused by genetic mutations affecting mitochondrial oxidation function. Brain involvement is commonly found in most cases but rarely as the unique clinical manifestation. Since the knowledge of its clinical manifestation combined with genetic testing is important for preventing misdiagnosis and delay in treatment,we report here how we diagnosed and managed a very unusual case of mitochondrial *** SUMMARY We report a 52-year-old woman with recurrent stroke-like episodes carrying the m.10158 T>C mutation in the MT-ND3 gene, which is also responsible for fatal infant-onset Leigh syndrome. Despite the common mutation, the present case featured a distinct clinical and neuroimaging manifestation from Leigh syndrome. This patient presented with sudden onset of right-sided hemiparesis and hemilateral sensory disturbance accompanied by a left temporal cluster-like headache and later developed epilepsy during hospitalization, with no other signs suggestive of myopathy, lactate acidosis, or other systemic symptoms. Brain magnetic resonance imaging revealed variable lesions involving multiple cortical and subcortical regions. Furthermore, a negative genetic test obtained from peripheral blood delayed the diagnosis of mitochondrial disease, which was eventually established through second-generation DNA sequencing using biopsied *** Based on this report, we suggest that clinicians pursue proper genetic testing for patients when the clinical phenotype is suggestive of mitochondrial diseases.

Dear Editor,This letter presents a joint probabilistic scheduling and resource allocation method(PSRA) for 5G-based wireless networked control systems(WNCSs). As a control-aware optimization method, PSRA minimizes the linear quadratic Gaussian(LQG) control cost of WNCSs by optimizing the activation probability of subsystems, the number of uplink repetitions, and the durations of uplink and downlink phases. Simulation results show that PSRA achieves smaller LQG control costs than existing works.

The utilization of iron coke provides a green pathway for low-carbon *** uncover the influence mechanism of iron ore on the behavior and kinetics of iron coke gasification,the effect of iron ore on the microstructure of iron coke was ***,a comparative study of the gasification reactions between iron coke and coke was conducted through non-isothermal thermogravimetric *** findings indicate that compared to coke,iron coke exhibits an augmentation in micropores and specific surface area,and the micropores further extend and *** provides more adsorption sites for CO_(2) molecules during the gasification process,resulting in a reduction in the initial gasification temperature of iron *** the heating rate in non-isothermal gasification can enhance the reactivity of iron *** metallic iron reduced from iron ore is embedded in the carbon matrix,reducing the orderliness of the carbon structure,which is primarily responsible for the heightened reactivity of the carbon *** kinetic study indicates that the random pore model can effectively represent the gasification process of iron coke due to its rich pore ***,as the proportion of iron ore increases,the activation energy for the carbon gasification gradually decreases,from 246.2 kJ/mol for coke to 192.5 kJ/mol for iron coke 15wt%.

Previous studies have shown that the compound(E)-2-(3,4-dihydroxystyryl)-3-hydroxy-4H-pyran-4-one(D30),a pyromeconic acid derivative,possesses antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties,inhibits amyloid-β aggregation,and alleviates scopolamine-induced cognitive impairment,similar to the phase Ⅲ clinical drug *** this study,we established a mouse model of Alzheimer's disease via intracerebroventricular injection of fibrillar amyloid-β to investigate the effect of D30 on fibrillar amyloid-β-induced *** results showed that D30 alleviated fibrillar amyloid-β-induced cognitive impairment,promoted fibrillar amyloid-β clearance from the hippocampus and cortex,suppressed oxidative stress,and inhibited activation of microglia and astrocytes.D30 also reversed the fibrillar amyloid-β-induced loss of dendritic spines and synaptic protein ***,we demonstrated that exogenous fibrillar amyloid-βintroduced by intracerebroventricular injection greatly increased galectin-3 expression levels in the brain,and this increase was blocked by *** the role of D30 in clearing amyloid-β,inhibiting neuroinflammation,protecting synapses,and improving cognition,this study highlights the potential of galectin-3 as a promising treatment target for patients with Alzheimer's disease.

Fracture is the primary failure type for the UO2ceramic pellets,which are operated under irradiation and thermal processes,and physically confined by the *** this work,by combining closely coupled physical processes of heat conduction,heat transfer,and mechanical deformation with the cohesive phase field framework,we proposed a high-precision modeling of quasistatic cracking of three-dimensional （3D） UO2ceramic fuel pellets under high temperature and *** simulation results agree well with the experimental results,indicating that the proposed method has the potential to capture 3D crack modes in the interested time ***,we studied the relation of the 3D fracture patterns of fuel pellets with the peak power *** was found that the power level plays a critical role in determining the competition between radial and circumferential cracks,as well as transverse penetrating cracks.

A mild, configurable, flexible CoNi-LDH（v）/Zn battery based on H-vacancy-induced reversible Zn2+ intercalation

Flexible Zn-based batteries have attracted increasing research interest as essential components of wearable energy storage ***,the advancement of flexible aqueous Zn-based batteries based on Co-Ni layered double hydroxide （CoNi-LDH） as the cathode material is hampered by their poor cycling stability and the corrosiveness of alkaline ***,CoNi-LDH nanosheets enriched with H vacancies (CoNi-LDH（v）) were constructed on a flexible carbon cloth （CC） substrate via electrochemical deposition and *** Zn-based battery comprising CoNi-LDH（v）@CC as the cathode exhibited highly reversible conversion reactions and stable operation in 3 M ZnSO4electrolyte （pH=4）.The battery delivered an excellent specific capacity (225 mA h g-1,0.26 mA h cm-2),acceptable cycling stability（53.9%,900 cycles）,and high discharging *** abundant H vacancies served as active sites for the reversible intercalation of Zn2+and the extravasation of NO3-generated channels and space for Zn2+transport and storage,together enabling an excellent Zn2+storage ***,a sandwich-structured solid-state CoNi-LDH（v）@CC//Zn@CC battery was fabricated and was found to exhibit a noteworthy electrochemical performance and mechanical *** a proof of concept,the unencapsulated battery powered a digital watch under various deformation conditions and operated stably for 80 ***,the flexible battery displayed outstanding customizability,maintaining an open-circuit voltage of 1.42 V even after being cut *** proposed engineering strategy contributes to the realization of textiles with truly wearable energy-storage devices.
