Short-term effects of cupping and scraping therapy for chronic nonspecific low-back pain:A prospective,multicenter randomized trial

Background As one of the most common musculoskeletal ailments,chronic nonspecific low-back pain(CNLBP)causes persistent disability and substantial medical *** evidence shows that the incidence rate of CNLBP in young and middle-aged people who are demanded rapidly recovery and social contribution is *** guidelines indicate a reduced role for medicines in the management of *** The present study investigates the short-term effects of cupping and scraping therapy using a medicated balm,compared to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug(NSAID)with a capsaicin plaster,in the treatment of ***,setting,participants and interventions We designed a prospective multicenter randomized clinical trial enrolling patients from January 1,2022 to December 31,2022.A total of 156 patients with CNLBP were randomized into two parallel *** sodium-sustained release tablets were administered orally to participants in the control group for one week while a capsaicin plaster was applied *** in the test group were treated with cupping and scraping using a medical device and medicated *** outcome measures Primary outcome was pain recorded using the visual analogue scale(VAS).Two secondary outcomes were recorded using the Japanese Orthopedic Association low-back pain scale(JOA)and the traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome integral scale(TCMS)as assessment *** Between baseline and postintervention,all changes in outcome metric scales were statistically significant(P<0.001).Compared to the control group,patients in the test group had a significantly greater treatment effect in all outcome variables,as indicated by lower VAS and TCMS scores and higher JOA scores,after the one-week intervention period(P<0.001).Further,according to the findings of multivariate linear regression analysis,the participants’pain(VAS score)was related to their marital status,age,smoking habits and body mass *** adverse r

Polymerization-induced self-assembly(PISA)is an emerging method for the preparation of block copolymer nano-objects at high ***,most PISA formulations have oxygen inhibition problems and inert atmospheres(***,nitrogen)are usually ***,the large-scale preparation of block copolymer nano-objects at room temperature is ***,we report an enzyme-assisted photoinitiated polymerization-induced self-assembly(photo-PISA)in continuous flow reactors with oxygen *** addition of glucose oxidase(GOx)and glucose into the reaction mixture can consume oxygen efficiently and constantly,allow the flow photo-PISA to be performed under open-air *** kinetics indicated that only a small amount of GOx(0.5 μmol/L)was needed to achieve the oxygen *** copolymer nano-objects with different morphologies can be prepared by varying reaction conditions including the degree of polymerization(DP)of core-forming block,monomer concentration,reaction temperature,and solvent *** expect this study will provide a facile platform for the large-scale production of block copolymer nano-objects with different morphologies at room temperature.

The occurrence of concomitant aortic aneurysm and colorectal cancer is a rare medical entity,and con-troversy surrounds its optimal *** report a case of rectal cancer and concomitant aneurysm from the ascending aorta to the common iliac *** with DeBakey typeⅠaortic dissecting aneurysm,our patient was treated by rectal cancer resection,with preservation of the anus(Dixon operation)under controlled *** pressure was maintained at 80-90/50-60 mmHg and the pulse at 70-90 beats/*** pathological examination of the surgical specimen showed a poorly differentiated T3N0 *** patient had an uneventful recovery without aneurysm rupture,and was discharged from hospital on postoperative day 15 after 3 d adjuvant chemotherapy with oxaliplatin combined with calcium folinate and *** patient was given six courses of adjuvant chemotherapy in 6 mo,without recurrence or metastasis,and the aneurysm was still stable after 2 years follow-up.

The nuclear event risk(NER)is an important and disputed factor that should be reasonably considered when planning the pathway of nuclear power development(NPD)to assess the benefits and risks of developing nuclear power more *** paper aims to explore the impact of nuclear events on NPD pathway *** influence of nuclear events is quantified as a monetary risk component,and an optimization model that incorporates the NER in the objective function is *** optimize the pathway of NPD in the lowcarbon transition course of power supply structure evolution,a simulation model is built to deduce alternative NPD pathways and corresponding power supply evolution scenarios under the constraint of an exogenously assigned carbon emission pathway(CEP);moreover,a method is proposed to describe the CEP by superimposing the maximum carbon emission space and each carbon emission reduction(CER)component,and various CER components are clustered considering the emission reduction characteristics and resource endowments of different power generation technologies.A case study is conducted to explore the impact of NER and its risk valuation uncertainty on NPD pathway *** method presented in this paper allows the impact of nuclear events on NPD pathway planning to be quantified and improves the level of coordinated optimization of benefits and risks.

Gear walk instability caused by brake-disc friction characteristics

A multi-body dynamic rigid-flexible coupling model of landing gear is established to study the gear walk instability caused by the friction characteristics of the brake *** validating the model with the experimental results,the influence of the landing gear structure and braking system parameters on gear walk is further *** the above factors,the slope of the graph for the friction coefficient of the brake disc and the relative velocity of brake stators and rotors is the most influential factor on gear walk *** trajectory analysis verifies that gear walk occurs when the coupling of multiple factors causes the system to exhibit an equivalent negative damping *** consider a more realistic braking case,a back propagation neural network method is employed to describe the nonlinear behavior of the friction coefficient of the brake *** the realistic nonlinear model of the friction coefficient,the maximum error in predicting the braking torque is less than 10%and the effect of the brake disc temperature on gear walk is *** results reveal that a more negative friction slope may contribute to a more severe unstable gear walk,and reducing the braking pressure is an effective approach to avoid gear walk,which provides help for future braking system design.

One-step construction of strongly coupled Co_(3)V_(2)O_(8)/Co_(3)O_(4)/MXene heterostructure via in-situ Co-F bonds for high performance all-solid-state asymmetric supercapacitors

Co_(3)V_(2)O_(8)/Co_(3)O_(4)/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) composite was easily synthesized via one-step succinct-operated hydrothermal *** interconnected Co_(3)V_(2)O_(8)/Co_(3)O_(4) nanowires network can in-situ grow and anchor on the surface of Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) via the strong Co-F bonds and contribute tremendously to depress Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) *** from the synergistically interplayed effect among the multiple interfaces and high conductivity of Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) as well as outstanding stability of the as-designed nanostructure,the optimum Co_(3)V_(2)O_(8)/Co_(3)O_(4)/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)electrode reaches a commendable specific capacitance(up to 3800 mF·cm^(−2)),great rate capability(80%capacitance retention after 20-times current increasing),and preeminent cycling stability(95.4%/85.5%retention at 7000th/20,000th cycle).Moreover,the all-solid-state asymmetric supercapacitor based on Co_(3)V_(2)O_(8)/Co_(3)O_(4)/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) and active carbon can deliver a high energy density of 84.0μWh·cm^(−2) at the power energy of 3.2 mW·cm^(−2),and excellent cycling durability with 87.0%of initial capacitance retention upon 20,000 *** work provides a practicable pathway to tailor MXene-based composites for high-performance supercapacitor.

The chlorine evolution reaction(CER)is a crucial step in the production of chlorine gas and active chlorine by chlor-alkali ***,the endeavor to fabricate electrodes capable of yielding high current density at minimal overpotential remains a central challenge in advancing the realm of chlorine evolution ***,we grow TiO_(2)and RuO_(2)on MXene@carbon cloth(CC)through the favorable affinity and induced deposition effect between the surface functional groups of MXene and the metal.A self-supported electrode(RuTiO_(2)/MXene@CC)with strong binding at the electrocatalyst-support interface and weak adhesion at electrocatalyst-bubble interface is *** RuTiO_(2)/MXene@CC can reduce the electron density of RuO_(2)by regulating the electron redistribution at the heterogeneous interface,thus enhancing the adsorption of Cl−.RuTiO_(2)/MXene@CC could achieve a high current density of 1000 mA·cm^(−2)at a small overpotential of 220 mV,superior to commercial dimensionally stable anodes(DSA).This study provides a new strategy for constructing efficient CER catalysts at high current density.

Optimized silicon fertilization regime weakens cadmium translocation and increases its biotransformation in rice tissues

In acidic paddy fields of South China,rice(Oryza sativa L.)faces the dual challenges of cadmium(Cd)toxicity and silicon(Si)*** previous studies have highlighted the functions of Si application timing and strategies in mitigating Cd-stressed rice,the precise mechanisms underlying the health restoration of Cd-toxic rice and the assurance of grain safety remain *** study explored Cd translocation and detoxification in the shoots of rice regulated by various Si fertilization regimes:Si(T)(all Si added before transplanting),Si(J)(all Si added at jointing),and Si(TJ)(half Si added both before transplanting and at jointing).The findings revealed that the regime of Si(TJ)was more beneficial to rice health and grain safety than Si(T)and Si(J).The osmotic regulators such as proline,soluble sugars,and soluble proteins were significantly boosted by Si(TJ)compared to other Si treatments,and which enhanced membrane integrity,balanced intracellular pH,and increased Cd tolerance of ***,Si(TJ)was more effective than Si(T)and Si(J)on the Cd sequestration in the cell wall,Cd bio-passivation,and the down-regulated expression of the Cd transport *** concentrations of Cd in the xylem and phloem treated with Si(TJ)were reduced ***,Si(TJ)facilitated much more Cd bound with the outer layer proteins of grains,and promoted Cd chelation and complexation by phytic acid,phenolics,and ***,Si(TJ)outperformed Si(T)and Si(J)in harmonizing the phycological processes,inhibiting Cd translocation,and enhancing Cd detoxification in rice *** the split Si application strategy offers potential for reducing Cd toxicity in rice grain.
