Kinetics of the accumulation of group 2 innate lymphoid cells in IL-33-induced and IL-25-induced murine models of asthma:a potential role for the chemokine CXCL16

ILC2s are implicated in asthma pathogenesis, but little is known about the mechanisms underlying their accumulation in *** investigated the time course of ILC2 accumulation in different tissues in murine models of asthma induced by a serial per-nasalchallenge with ovalbumin (OVA), house dust mice (HDM), IL-25 and IL-33 and explored the potential roles of ILC2-attractingchemokines in this phenomenon. Flow cytometry was used to enumerate ILC2s at various time points. The effects of cytokines andchemokines on ILC2 migration were measured in vitro using a chemotaxis assay and in vivo using small animal imaging. Comparedwith saline and OVA challenge, both IL-25 and IL-33 challenge alone induced significant accumulation of ILC2s in the mediastinallymph nodes, lung tissue and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid of challenged animals, but with a distinct potency and kinetics. In vitro,IL-33 and CXCL16, but not IL-25 or CCL25, directly induced ILC2 migration. Small animal in vivo imaging further confirmed that asingle intranasal provocation with IL-33 or CXCL16 was sufficient to induce the accumulation of ILC2s in the lungs followinginjection via the tail vein. Moreover, IL-33-induced ILC2 migration involved the activation of ERK1/2, p38, Akt, JNK and NF-κB, whileCXCL16-induced ILC2 migration involved the activation of ERK1/2, p38 and Akt. These data support the hypothesis that epitheliumderived IL-25 and IL-33 induce lung accumulation of ILC2s, while IL-33 exerts a direct chemotactic effect in this process. AlthoughILC2s express the chemokine receptors CXCR6 and CCR9, only CXCL16, the ligand of CXCR6, exhibits a direct chemoattractanteffect.

Ultra-lightweight Ti3C2Tx MXene modified separator for Li–S batteries:Thickness regulation enabled polysulfide inhibition and lithium ion transportation

The practical application of lithium–sulfur(Li–S)batteries is limited by the easy dissolution of polysulfides in the electrolyte,resulting in the lithium polysulfide(LPS)shuttle *** two-dimensional(2D)materials with abundant active binding sites and high surface-to-volume ratios have been developed to prepare functional separators that suppress the diffusion of ***,the influence of modified layer thickness on Li+transport has not been ***,we synthesized individual and multilayered 2D Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets and used them to fabricate a series of Ti3C2Tx-PP modified *** separators had mass loadings ranging from 0.16 to 0.016 mg cm-2,which is the lowest value reported for 2D materials to the best of our *** corresponding reductions in thickness ranged from 1.2μm to 100 *** shuttling was effectively suppressed,even at the lowest mass loading of 0.016 mg *** was due to the strong interaction between LPS intermediates and Ti atoms and hydroxyl functional groups on the separator *** lithium-ion diffusion coefficient increased with the reduction of Ti3C2Tx layers on the *** cycling stability and rate performance were attained when the separator with a Ti3C2Tx-PP mass loading of 0.016 mg cm-2 was incorporated into a Li–S *** nanotubes(CNTs)were introduced into the separators to further improve the electrical and Li+ionic conductivity in the cross-plane direction of the 2D *** the ultralightweight Ti3C2Tx/CNTs modified PP separator,the cell maintained a capacity of 640 m Ah g-1after 200cycles at 1C with a capacity decay of only 0.079%per cycle.

Background While hyperhomocysteinemia is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular diseases, the effect of hyperhomocysteinemia on the vascular adventitia and vessel remodeling has not been clearly demonstrated. We investigated the effect of the hyperhomocysteinemia on adventitial hyperplasia and vascular remodeling following balloon injury in rats and the underlying mechanisms. Methods Rats were fed with diet containing methionine for 4 weeks to increase plasma homocysteine before balloon injury. Vascular geometrical changes were assessed at different time points following balloon injury. The collagen deposition was determined by picrosirius red staining and immunohistochemical staining. Results When compared with normal diet group, moderate hyperhomocysteinemia in methionine diet group significantly exacerbated adventitial hyperplasia at day 7 and collagen deposition mainly in the adventitia at day 28 following balloon injury. The increased plasma homocysteine level significantly increased collagen deposition in the adventitia. There was a negative correlation （r=-0.698; P〈0.01） between the luminal area and the collagen content in the adventitia on day 28 following balloon injury. In cultured adventitial fibroblasts isolated from rat aorta, 100 pmol/L L-homocysteine （L-Hcy） significantly down-regulated matrix metalloproteinase-2 activity by 43% as determined by in vitro gelatin zymography （P 〈0.05） and up-regulated the expression of collagen type I by 187% （P 〈0.05） assessed by Western blotting. Conclusions Hyperhomocysteinemia exacerbated vascular constrictive remodeling by accelerated neointima formation and collagen accumulation in the adventitia. Increased collagen deposition may be the underlying mechanism.

Improved Algorithm of Pattern Classification and Recognition Applied in a Coal Dust Sensor

To resolve the conflicting requirements of measurement precision and real-time performance speed,an im-proved algorithm for pattern classification and recognition was developed. The angular distribution of diffracted light varies with particle size. These patterns could be classified into groups with an innovative classification based upon ref-erence dust samples. After such classification patterns could be recognized easily and rapidly by minimizing the vari-ance between the reference pattern and dust sample eigenvectors. Simulation showed that the maximum recognition speed improves 20 fold. This enables the use of a single-chip,real-time inversion algorithm. An increased number of reference patterns reduced the errors in total and respiring coal dust measurements. Experiments in coal mine testify that the accuracy of sensor achieves 95%. Results indicate the improved algorithm enhances the precision and real-time ca-pability of the coal dust sensor effectively.

Mesoporous NiCo_2O_4@MnO_2 nanoneedle arrays as electrode materials for supercapacitor grown on a conductive nickel foam were prepared by a facile hydrothermal route. The interconnected mesoporous structure of the NiCo_2O_4 nanoneedle arrays provides a large specific surface area for charge *** electrochemically active MnO_2 nanoparticles covered on the surface of NiCo_2O_4 nanoneedle result in a favorable synergistic storage effect because of charge redistribution at the NiCo_2O_4|MnO_2 interface,which reduces the interfacial polarization and facilitates ion diffusion. The initial specific capacitance of NiCo_2O_4@MnO_2(S2) is 1001 F g^(-1) at current density of 15 A g^(-1). The capacity retention of S2 is about87.4% after 4000 cycles, and the specific capacitance of S2 electrode only decreases from 1001 F g^(-1) to736 F g^(-1) even after 10,000 cycles. The first-principles calculations show that a chemical bonding between the NiCo_2O_4 and MnO_2 is not only helpful for stabilizing the composites but also leads to a charge redistribution at the interface, which may lead to a smaller interfacial polarization and thus beneficial for the interfacial capacity. The excellent electrochemical performance of NiCo_2O_4@MnO_2 composites(S2)can be ascribed to the high surface area, unique architecture, MnO_2 nanoparticle modification, reduced charge transfer resistance and stable interface between NiCo_2O_4 and MnO_2. The simple material synthesis and architectural design strategy provides new insights in opportunities to exhibit promising potential for practical application in energy storage.

Cryogel dressings with good absorption ability and photothermal antibacterial properties for preventing wound infections and treating infected wounds have attracted widespread *** this work,a series of cryogels with macroporous structure,antioxidant and photothermal properties were prepared based on adipic dihydrazide modified hyaluronic acid(HA-ADH),and dopamine(DA).The antioxidant properties,hemostatic properties,near infrared(NIR)assisted photothermal antibacterial ability provided by polydopamine,recyclable compression mechanical properties,and cytocompatibility were *** results demonstrated that the HA-ADH/DA cryogels have stable mechanical properties,great antibacterial properties against ***(EC)and methicillin-resistant ***(MRSA).The high swelling ratio due to the high water retention of HA equipped the cryogels with the capability of absorbing exuded blood and excessive tissue fluid in the infected full-thickness skin defect model of *** cryogels demonstrated good cytocompatibility and antioxidant performance through cell tests and 1,1-diphenyl-2-methylbenzohydrazino(DPPH)scavenging efficiency *** cryogels showed enhanced blood-clotting index(BCI)and better hemostatic ability in the mouse liver trauma model and the rat deep noncompressible liver defect model compared with gauze and gelatin ***,compared with commercial TegadermTMdressing in vivo,the HA-ADH/DA cryogels could greatly promote infected skin wound healing in a full-thickness infected skin defect wound *** summary,the macroporous HAADH/DA cryogels with good antioxidant,high swelling ratio,photothermal antibacterial property,and biocompatibility are a promising hemostatic material and wound healing dressing.

The hydrogenation of levulinic acid(LA)to c-valerolactone(GVL)by using water as solvent is a crucial process in the production of fine chemicals from *** ultrathin carbon layer coating CoRu bimetallic catalyst supported on silica(CoRu@C/SiO2)is prepared by using tannis-ligated cobalt-ruthenium complex on silica as precursors,and applied for catalyzed synthesis of GVL from *** of the synergistic effect between cobalt and ruthenium,the addition of small amounts of Ru to Co catalysts can increase the catalytic activity in the aqueous hydrogenation of *** ultrathin carbon layer covered on the CoRu bimetallic catalyst can greatly reduce the leaching of active *** CoRu@C/SiO2 catalyst achieves high stability and is reused up to 5 runs without significant loss of performance in aqueous hydrogenation of levulinic acid.

Radicals are important intermediates in direct coal *** radicals can cause the cleavage of chemical *** high temperatures,radical fragments can be produced by the splitting of large organic molecules,which can break strong chemical bonds through the induction pyrolysis of *** reaction between the formation and annihilation of coal radical fragments and the effect of hydrogen-donor solvents on the radical fragments are discussed in lignite *** the hydroxyl and ether bonds as indicators,the effects of different radicals on the cleavage of chemical bond were investigated employing density functional theory calculations and lignite hydrogenolysis *** showed that the adjustment of the coal radical fragments could be made by the addition of hydrogendonor *** showed that the transition from coal radical fragment to H radical leads to the variation of product *** synergistic mechanism of hydrogen supply and hydrogenolysis of hydrogen-donor solvent was proposed.

Objective:The objective of this study is to evaluate the learning experience effect of online problem‑based learning(PBL)and case‑based learning(CBL)in teaching disaster ***:According to the characteristics of online PBL and CBL,the revised curriculum experience questionnaire(CEQ)was used to evaluate the teaching ***’s coefficient and the reliability of the split‑half reliability questionnaire were *** exploratory factor analysis of 26 items was carried out by principal component analysis and maximum variance rotation ***‑Meyer‑Olkin(KMO)and Bartlett’s tests were used to test the validity of the *** comparison between groups was performed by one‑way analysis of ***:A total of 191 questionnaires were issued and 183 copies were recovered,with a recovery rate of 95.8%.The Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of CEQ is 0.929,and the Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of each dimension is between 0.713 and *** factor analysis,the KMO value was *** 26 items finally returned to 6 principal components,and all factor load values were above 0.7,indicating good factor analysis *** study found that students who learned disaster nursing had an ideal online learning experience,and the average value of CEQ was 3.74±*** particular,male students,senior students or medical students had a higher curriculum experience *** addition,compared with the national recruitment,the international students have higher curriculum experience score on the dimension of Appropriate Assessment Scale,indicating that the international students are more inclined to use online PBL and ***:Using the revised CEQ is an innovative approach to evaluate the effect of online PBL and CBL in teaching disaster nursing,which can improve students’experience and curriculum quality.
