The letter is to respond to the recent publication“Trends in hospitalization for alcoholic hepatitis from 2011 to 2017:A USA nationwide study”(World J Gastroenterol 2022;28:5036-5046).We noticed a significant difference in the total numbers of reported hospitalized alcohol-associated hepatitis(AH)patients between this publication and our publication on Alcohol Clin Exp Res(2022;46:1472-1481).We believe the number of“AH-related hospitalizations”inflated by the inclusion of patients with non-AH forms of alcohol-associated liver disease.

AIM： TO explore the relationship among interferon-γ （IFN-γ） activity, fibrogenesis, T cell immune responses and hepatic inflammatory activity. METHODS： Peripheral blood samples from a total of 43 hepatitis B cirrhotic patients （LC） and 19 healthy controls （NC） were collected to measure their serum levels of IFN-γ, interleukin-2 （IL-2）, soluble interleukin-2 receptor （sIL-2R）, interleukin-10 （IL-10） and three serological markers of fibrosis including hyaluronic acid （HA）, procollagen type III peptide （PIIIP）, and type iV collagen were measured using a double antibody sandwich ELISA. Also, serum total bilirubin （TB） and alanine aminotransferase （ALT） were measured by routine measures. RESULTS： The concentrations of serological markers of fibrosis in patients with active cirrhosis （ALC） were significantly higher than those in stationary liver cirrhosis （SLC） or NC groups. The levels of serological markers in HBeAg-positive patients were significantly higher than those in HBeAg-negative patients. In SLC and ALC patients, a negative linear correlation was found between IFN-γ levels and the serological markers of fibrosis. IFN-γ and IL-2 levels in the ALC group were significantly higher than those in the SLC and NC groups, but the statistical difference was not significant between the latter two. In contrast, IL-10 levels in the SLC group were significantly higher than that in the NC group, but no significant difference was found between SLC and ALC groups. The sIL-2R level was elevated gradually in all these groups, and the differences were significant. Positive linear correlations were seen between IFN-γ activity and ALT levels （r = 0.339, P 〈 0.05）, and IL-2 activity and TB levels （r = 0.517, P 〈 0.05）. sIL-2R expression was positively correlated with both ALT and TB levels （r = 0.324, 0.455, P 〈 0.05）, whereas there was no statistically significant correlation between IL-10 expression and serum ALT and TB levels （r = -0.102, -0.093, P 〉 0.05）. This study developed a population pharmacokinetic model for sodium tanshinone IIA sulfonate(STS) in healthy volunteers and coronary heart disease(CHD) patients in order to identify significant covariates for the pharmacokinetics of STS. Blood samples were obtained by intense sampling approach from 10 healthy volunteers and sparse sampling from 25 CHD patients, and a population pharmacokinetic analysis was performed by nonlinear mixed-effect modeling. The final model was evaluated by bootstrap and visual predictive check. A total of 230 plasma concentrations were included, 137 from healthy volunteers and 93 from CHD patients. It was a two-compartment model with first-order elimination. The typical value of the apparent clearance(CL) of STS in CHD patients with total bilirubin(TBIL) level of 10 μmol×L^(–1) was 48.7 L×h^(–1) with inter individual variability of 27.4%, whereas that in healthy volunteers with the same TBIL level was 63.1 L×h^(–1). Residual variability was described by a proportional error model and estimated at 5.2%. The CL of STS in CHD patients was lower than that in healthy volunteers and decreased when TBIL levels increased. The bootstrap and visual predictive check confirmed the stability and validity of the final model. These results suggested that STS dosage adjustment might be considered based on TBIL levels in CHD patients.

A two-year field experiment conducted under dryland conditions in semi-humid and drought-prone regions of China aimed to assess the effect of ammonia-oxidizing bacterial on maize water use efficiency and yield.A heterotrophic ammonia-oxidizing bacteria(HAOB)strain S2_8_1 was *** treatments were applied:(1)no irrigation+HAOB strain(DI),(2)no irrigation+blank culture medium(DM),(3)no irrigation control(DCK),(4)irrigation+HAOB(WI),(5)irrigation+blank culture medium(WM),and(6)irrigation control(WCK).Results revealed that HAOB treatment increased maize growth,yield,and water use efficiency over controls,regardless of whether the year was wet or *** improvement was attributed to the accelerated nitrification in the rhizosphere soil due to HAOB inoculation,which subsequently led to increased levels of leaf ***,these findings suggest that HAOB inoculation holds promise as a strategy to boost water use efficiency and maize productivity in dryland agriculture.

Nowadays,data are more and more used for intelligent modeling and prediction,and the comprehensive evaluation of data quality is getting more and more attention as a necessary means to measure whether the data are usable or ***,the comprehensive evaluation method of data quality mostly contains the subjective factors of the evaluator,so how to comprehensively and objectively evaluate the data has become a bottleneck that needs to be solved in the research of comprehensive evaluation *** order to evaluate the data more comprehensively,objectively and differentially,a novel comprehensive evaluation method based on particle swarm optimization(PSO)and grey correlation analysis(GCA)is presented in this *** first,an improved GCA evaluation model based on the technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution(TOPSIS)is ***,an objective function model of maximum difference of the comprehensive evaluation values is built,and the PSO algorithm is used to optimize the weights of the improved GCA evaluation model based on the objective function ***,the performance of the proposed method is investigated through parameter analysis.A performance comparison of traffic flow data is carried out,and the simulation results show that the maximum average difference between the evaluation results and its mean value(MDR)of the proposed comprehensive evaluation method is 33.24%higher than that of TOPSIS-GCA,and 6.86%higher than that of *** proposed method has better differentiation than other methods,which means that it objectively and comprehensively evaluates the data from both the relevance and differentiation of the data,and the results more effectively reflect the differences in data quality,which will provide more effective data support for intelligent modeling,prediction and other applications.
